Abstract:In the molecule of the title CoII complex, [Co(C6H4NO3)2(C3H4N2)2], the CoII atom is located on a twofold rotation axis and chelated by two oxidopyridiniumcarboxylate anions and further cis-coordinated by two imidazole ligands in a distorted octahedral geometry. The shorter C—O bond distance of 1.260 (2) Å suggests electron delocalization between the oxido group and the pyridinium ring. The uncoordinated carboxylate O atom links with the imidazole and pyridinium rings of adjacent molecules via N—H...O hydrogen bonding. Weak C—H...O hydrogen bonding is also present in the crystal structure.

Abstract:The crystal structure of the title compound, [Co(C6H6N4S2)(2)Cl-2].2H(2)O, comprises an octahedral Co-II complex and water of crystallization. Two Cl atoms and two diaminobithiazole (DABT) ligands coordinate to the Co-II atom in a cis configuration. The overlapped arrangement and the short separation of 3.46 (2) Angstrom between parallel DABT rings suggest the existence of pi-pi stacking interactions. A short S...S contact of 3.1822 (17) Angstrom is observed between DABT ligands.

Abstract:In the title compound, [Co(C7H5O3)(2)(C7H6N2)(2)](.)0.25H(2)O, the Co-II atom is coordinated by two 4-hydroxybenzoate (hbz) anions and two benzimidazole (bzim) ligands in a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry. The carboxylate group of one of the hbz anions chelates to the Co atom with a normal Co-O bond [1.993 (2) angstrom] and a longer Co-O bond [2.561 (3) angstrom]. Aromatic pi-pi stacking is observed between neighbouring bzim ligands but not between hbz ligands.

Abstract:The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Co(C(3)H(4)N(2))(6)][Co(C(3)H(4)N(2))(3)(H(2)O)(3)](C(12)H(6)O(4))(2), contains two halves of crystallographically independent Co(II) complex cations, each assuming a distorted octa-hedral geometry, and one uncoordinated naphthalene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate dianion. One Co(II) cation is located on an inversion center and is coordinated by six imidazole mol-ecules, while the other Co(II) cation is located on a twofold rotation axis and is coordinated by three water and three imidazole mol-ecules. The uncoordinated naphthalene-1,4-dicarboxyl-ate dianion links both Co(II) complex cations via O-H⋯O and N-H⋯O hydrogen bonding. One imidazole ligand is equally disordered over two sites about a twofold rotation axis, while the coordinated N atom of the imidazole is located on the twofold rotation axis. One water O atom has site symmetry 2.

Abstract:The title compound, [CoCl2(CH4N2S)2].2C11H6N2O, consists of the tetrahedral cobalt(II) complex and free 4,5-diazafluoren-9-one (dafone). Dafone links to the complex through hydrogen bonding between N atoms. The carbonyl bridge in dafone distorts the bipyridine moiety. The longer N⋯N separations of 3.068 (3) and 3.064 (3) Å in dafone are considered to be the reason for the weaker chelating ability of dafone.

Abstract:The title compound, [CoNa4(C8H3O7S)2(H2O)12]n, is a three-dimensional coordination polymer bridged by sulfoisophthalate trianions and water molecules. The CoII atom, located on an inversion centre, is coordinated by two carboxylate groups of the sulfoisophthalate trianions and by four water molecules in a distorted CoO6 octahedral geometry. Two independent NaI atoms also have a distorted octahedral coordination geometry formed by water, carboxylate O and sulfonate O atoms. An extensive O—H...O and C—H...O hydrogen-bonding network is present in the crystal structure, as well as weak π-π stacking [centroid–centroid distance = 3.9553 (11) Å].

Abstract:[Co(C4H7N2O2)2(C5HsN)2][FeCl4], M(r) = 645. 1, triclinic P1BAR, a = 9.306 (3), b = 16.247 (3), c = 8.972 (2) angstrom, alpha = 104.72 (2), beta = 96.38(2), gamma = 80.44 (2)-degrees, V = 1290.4 (7) angstrom3, Z = 2, D(m) = 1.67, D(x) = 1.660 g cm-3, lambda(Mo K-alpha) = 0.71069 angstrom, mu = 16.93 cm-1, F(000) = 654, room temperature, R = 0.062 for 4566 observed reflections. The crystal consists of cobaloxime cations and FeCl4- anions. Two crystallographically independent cobaloxime cations occupy the individual centres of symmetry. The cobaloxime cations exhibit a distorted octahedral coordination with the four oxime N donors at the equatorial positions and two pyridyl N donors at the axial sites. The tetrahedral FeCl4- anion is stabilized by the large cobaloxime cation in the crystal.

Abstract:The title compound, [CoNa(4)(C(8)H(3)O(7)S)(2)(H(2)O)(12)](n), is a three-dimensional coordination polymer bridged by sulfoisophthalate trianions and water mol-ecules. Abstract:The title compound, [Co(C4H4O5)(C6H6N4S2)(H2O)] . 2H(2)O, contains one Co-II complex and two water molecules in the asymmetric unit. The tridentate oxydiacetate dianion meridionally chelates a Co atom, and both five-membered chelate rings assume an envelope conformation. Diaminobithiazole chelates the Co atom, in a planar configuration. Parallel thiazole rings of neighboring complex molecules are separated by 3.504 (5) Angstrom, suggesting the existence of pi-pi stacking interactions.
