Abstract:The problem of robust control for discrete time-delay systems with norm-bounded uncertainties was studied. A new sufficient condition of delay-dependent robust stabilizability was derived by introducing a zero formula and free weighting matrices. An explicit expression of the desired controller was also developed based on the solution of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs). Without any system transformation or inequalities to estimate the upper bound of the cross terms in the forward difference of Lyapunov functional, the corresponding conservatism on the stability condition is reduced. Numerical examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness of design procedure.

Abstract:We studied the delay-dependent stabilization problem for a class of uncertain singular system with time-delays and saturating controls. Theorems derived give sufficient conditions for delay-dependent stabilization of the singular systems with a combination of saturating controls and multiple time-delays in both state and control; we assumed the delays to be constant bounded but unknown, moreover, the uncertainties are also described to be unknown but bounded and the nonlinear terms included in the systems are fallen into a set. Under these sufficient conditions, the solution of the uncertain singular system is regular, impulse free, and locally asymptotically stable for all admissible uncertainties. Furthermore, the results based on several Linear Matrix Inequalities (LMIs) are developed to guarantee stability and be computed effectively. Finally, we advance an example to demonstrate the superiority of this method.

Abstract:The problem of quadratic stabilization and robust H/sup /spl infin// controller design for a class of linear time-varying uncertain dynamic systems with delayed state and control are studied via a Riccati equation approach. A static state feedback controller which stabilizes the plant and reduces the effect of the disturbance input on the controlled output to a prescribed level for all admissible time-varying uncertainties is presented and a sufficient condition for the existence of a robust H/sup /spl infin// controller is derived. Then the sufficient condition is transformed into a linear matrix inequality (LMI) problem and the control law can be obtained by solving LMIs.

Abstract:The problem of robust stabilization for a class of uncertain networked control systems (NCSs) with nonlinearities satisfying a given sector condition is investigated in this paper. By introducing a new model of NCSs with parameter uncertainty, network-induced delay, nonlinearity and data packet dropout in the transmission, a strict linear matrix inequality (LMI) criterion is proposed for robust stabilization of the uncertain nonlinear NCSs based on the Lyapunov stability theory. The maximum allowable transfer interval (MATI) can be derived by solving the feasibility problem of the corresponding LMI. Some numerical examples are provided to demonstrate the applicability of the proposed algorithm.

Abstract:The memoryless robust stabilization problem is studied for a class of uncertain linear dynamic systems with time-delays in both state and control. The uncertain time-delay systems under consideration are described by state differential equations with time-varying unknown-but-bounded uncertain parameters. A sufficient condition for the existence of a memoryless robust controller is derived and two methods ave presented for synthesizing robust control laws for uncertain time-delay systems. One is to transform the robust control problem into a standard HCO control problem via the equivalent system transformation, and the control law can be obtained by solving an algebraic Riccati equation (ARE). The other method is to transform the sufficient condition into a linear matrix inequality (LMI) problem and the control law can be obtained by solving the LMI. Finally, a numerical example is presented to show the feasibility of the obtained results.

Abstract:The synthesis problem of reliable robust control for a class of dynamic systems is considered.A practical and general faults model with sensor,actuator is addressed.A necessary and sufficient condition of D-stability is presented,based on which a sufficient condition of existence of the reliable H_∞controller is given for the case of sensor,actuator failures.The reliable H_∞controller is designed in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs),which guarantees the closed-loop to be D-stable and possesses H_∞performance when all control components are operational as well as some control components experience failures.Finally,a numerical example is given to illustrate the design procedures and the effectiveness.

Abstract:This paper studies the fundamental problems: whether an affine system affected by additive disturbances is robustly transferable from a source set (simplex) to a target set (polytope) and whether it is robustly stabilizable with its state constrained in a simplex. First, a necessary and sufficient condition is derived for the existence of affine feedback control that solves the robust reachability problem. Further investigation is provided for two situations relying on whether the union of the source set and the target set is convex or non-convex. For the former one, a necessary and sufficient condition is obtained in the form of linear inequalities, while for the latter, several computationally feasible sufficient conditions are found. Second, we show that robust stabilization subject to a state constraint is equivalent to find a feasible solution to a linear equation. Once it is known that either of the problems has a solution by checking the derived conditions, design of control laws is then straightforward.

Piecewise quadratic Lyapunov functions were applied to derive the sufficient conditions for hybrid state feedback robust stabilization. The proposed design of hybrid state feedback robust stabilization controllers is formulated as a convex problem in terms of linear matrix inequalities, which can be solved by relevant software.Controllability of the continuous time subsystems is not required since the controller design consists of discrete event dynamics design and continuous time dynamics design. The applicability of this design approach is shown a successfal simulation example.

Abstract:We focus on the problem of robust stability for the linear uncertain multi-time-delay system. Both the systems subjected to unstructured parametric uncertainties and structured parametric are concerned. Based on the fact that if the characteristic roots of a system lie in the left half complex plane then the system is asymptotically stable, several delay-independent asymptotically stable sufficient conditions for linear uncertain multi-time-delay systems are derived. These conditions only rely on the structure of the system; this can lead to reduction in conservatism. Some numerical example examples are given to show the superiority of our results to those in the literature.

Abstract:A new delay-independent stability criterion and some stabilizable conditions are presented in the form of an algebraic Riccati equation for the certain delay systems with time-varying multi-state-delay. Then some sufficient conditions for the robust stabilizability are derived for this class of uncertain systems. Furthermore, if there exists a positive-definite symmetric solution satisfying the algebraic Riccati equation or the algebraic Riccati inequality, a suitable memoryless linear feedback law can be derived. In this paper, the uncertainties do not need to satisfy the matching condition and the rank-one decomposition does not need to be done.

Abstract:In this paper, a convex parameterization methodology is presented for the problem of robust stabilization of the systems with coprime factor uncertainties. By this approach, the robust stabilization problem is converted to a convexly parameterized robust SPR synthesis problem. To solve this convexly parameterized robust SPR synthesis problem, the S-procedure is used to convert the problem to finding the feasible solutions of frequency dependent LMIs which can be solved by combining the techniques of griding the frequency range to get a limited number of LMIs and using KYP lemma to check the feasibility of the solutions. An numerical example is included to demonstrate the application of the method.

Abstract:The robust stabilization problem for uncertain discrete singular time-delay systems is addressed in this paper. In terms of strict linear matrix inequality and a finite Sum inequality, a delay-dependent criterion for the nominal systems to be admissible is obtained. Based on the criterion, a state feedback controller, which guarantees that, for all admissible uncertainties, the resulting closed-loop system is regular, causal and stable, is constructed. An explicit expression for the desired controller is also given. The obtained results include both delay-independent and delay-dependent cases. Abstract:This paper revisits the decentralized stabilization problem for a class of interconnected nonlinear systems subject to strongly coupled uncertain interactions. As a main contribution, we show that, without any priori required restrictive nonlinear growth conditions, a C-1 condition of the nonlinear interactions is sufficient to derive a finite-time convergent decentralized stabilizing control law under a semi-global control objective. Another new feature is the adoption of a novel one step nonsmooth synthesis method which leads to a simple form of stabilizing control law with easily implementable gain tuning mechanisms. A numerical example and its simulation verification are provided to illustrate the simplicity and effectiveness of the proposed method.

Abstract:The problem of robust stabilization of a system family is studied here. A sufficient condition for the existence of a robust controller is presented under the assumption that there are perturbations both in the numerator and in the denominator of the nominal system. This condition can be given by an inequality that is satisfied by the coefficient vectors of the perturbed polynomials. Based on this, the robust controller family stabilizing the system family can be obtained. Therefore, the condition has the advantages of easy computing and further satisfying other required properties.

Abstract:For a class of uncertain nonlinear systems with time-delays in both state and control input, when in the linear part of the plant, the uncertainties are unknown but norm-bounded, and the uncertainties in the nonlinear part satisfy the so-called matching condition, this paper deals with the robust stabilization problem. The sufficient conditions for the systems under consideration to be stabilizable via state feedback or output feedback are given in terms of Riccati inequality, in the sense of global exponential stability. And we show that the controller can be designed by a simple procedure so long as obtaining the solutions of the corresponding inequalities.
