Abstract:Butyrate acid as the preferred short-chain fatty acid can provide energy sources directly for the intestinal cells,it plays an extremely important role in the animal gastro-intestinal health. In this study,1-day-old AA broilers were chose, and feed with 100 g/t,200 g/t and 400 g/t of sodium butyrate added into the basic diet respectively,to study the effect of sodium butyrate on AA broiler intestinal pH,microbial flora and volatile fatty acids. The results showed:With the addition of sodium butyrate increased(from 100 to 400 g/t),the pH value of digestive tract of broilers reduced in a certain degree, especially for the small intestine and caecum. With the growth of broilers,low-dose sodium butyrate had more effects on the improvement of the role of intestinal microbes. All doses of sodium butyrate could increase the concentration of short-chain fatty acids in posterior segment of intestinal, and along with the growth of broilers, the concentration of butyrate acid increased more than acetic acid and propionic acid in the intestinal tract.
