Positive Interaction of the Couple and Marital Quality——Investigation and Analysis of Marriage and Family in Beijing in 2011

Abstract:This paper illustrates the marital quality and the factors that affect marital satisfaction among married people who live in the urban areas of Beijing by using the investigation data of marriage and family in Beijing in 2011.It has been discovered that most couples are satisfied with their marriage.Furthermore,the data analyses have proved that the positive interaction between the spouses contributes more to a happy marriage while the material factors contribute less to the evaluation of the marital satisfaction.The positive interactions between the couple include efficient communication between the couple,companionship,satisfied sexual life,and mutual understanding.Among these factors,mutual understanding and cooperation are the most important factors in evaluating a satisfied marriage.Apart from the factors above,a healthy body and employment of domestic worker are also significant in evaluating marital satisfaction.
