Abstract:This paper studies the net operating cash flow of China non-financial listed firms in the recent, years, especially researches how it changes during the financial crisis of 2008. We adopt the basic principles of the comparables approach to measuring Cash-Flow-at-Risk, and examine the operating CFaR of China non-financial listed firms with a POT model, based on the comparable industry clusters and the economic determinants of the operating cash flow. The results show that, (1) the firms of realestate and comprehensive industries are exposed to the highest operating CFaR, and the lowest are the firms of mining, transportation &: warehousing and utilities industries; (2) the net operating CFaR of ST firms are higher than that of normal firms, except firms of real estate and comprehensive industries; and (3) more companies, in 2008 experiencing financial crisis, are exposed to operating CFaR than that in 2006 and 2007.
