Abstract:Objective To explore the application feasibility of PBL teaching mode in neurology class in medical colleges of China and to explore the teaching mode that matches the current condition of China.Methods Questionnaire survey of medical interns in one city and six province of East China were carried out during 2011 to 2012 and the results were analyzed.Results The survey showed that 75.5% of students thought that traditional teaching methods of neurology classes were not very satisfying.93.5% of students considered it necessary to introduce the new teaching model.93.2% of them thought that PBL teaching mode was conducive to students' self-learning ability,innovation and problem-solving skills.94.1% thought PBL teaching mode could help improve students' teamwork.91.7% considered PBL teaching mode could enhance students' interest in learning and foster positive learning attitude 91.4% believed that it could help students put theory into practice and 91.2% thought it could improve students' overall quality and comprehensive ability.In addition,the subjective and objective conditions made the exploration of PBL teaching modes feasible.However,there are disadvantages of PBL teaching mode and 86.1% of students thought at current in China PBL teaching mode should be implemented in combination with traditional teaching mode.Conclusion PBL teaching mode should be continuously explored and studied in the future neurology teaching,in order to create a teaching model,which is compatible with the current situations of China.
