Abstract:The curriculum carries ideological and political education, which is embodied in the curriculum.We aim to fully tap the ideological and political elements contained in the course of linear algebra, and form the first classroom with teaching as the main position and the online second classroom with "reading book club" as the main form in practice, which complement each other and complement each other.Taking a specific classroom teaching as an example, this paper discusses how to integrate knowledge teaching, ability training and value shaping, so as to achieve the good effect of moistening things and educating students.

Abstract:Based on some teaching practices of Linear Algebra at college level,we discuss the importance of the course and its difficulties for students.Analyzing the reasons of lack of study enthusiasm,we suggest several reconsiderations such as the contents of teaching,discussions in the class,exams,bilingual teaching,connections to later courses,and the cultivation of creative thinking.

Abstract:It is essential in Linear Algebra to solve the linear systems and to understand the elementary row transformation of matrices.In the class,we first introduce the rule of left multiplication of a vector by a matrix and the notation of linear systems by matrices,and then,we introduce the notation of several systems with the same coefficient matrix.On this basis,we define the multiplication of matrices and the elementary transformation to find the inverse of a square matrix.

Abstract:The course teaching for linear algorithm based on problem motivating is the trend in linear algorithm teaching.Taking the practical engineering application for matrix trace in linear algorithm as an example,it is expounded that the teaching team of linear algebra of the National University of Defense Technology practice the benign development pattern which theory teaching promotes the development of engineering,scientific research practice enriches theory teaching application,scientific researches promote each other.The teaching model enriches teaching experiment case,improves the students' interest in learning linear algebra,so that both teachers and students "learn in research,research in learning",the teachers' and students' research abilities and innovation abilities are cultivated.

Abstract:This paper discusses the author's practice and thinking in the teaching of linear algebra for engineering students. As there are so many definitions, theorems and abstract concepts in the course to be handled, the author suggests that the geometric interpretation of the concepts should be introduced. Abstract:Integrated with the experiences of practical teaching activities,some ideas on promoting students ability of thinking in mathematics to solve practical problems are put forth.It is emphasized that teacher should take creating harmonious atmosphere in heart while importing knowledge to his pupils.Besides this,teacher should try to design good teaching modules and adopt flexible teaching styles to inspire his pupils to learn effectively.Finally,it is proposed,to improve students interests of learning linear algebra curriculum,some geometry images are applied to clearly illustrate the abstract definition in algebra.

Abstract:By using methods of statistical analysis, such as empirical distribution analysis, normal distribution analysis, χ 2 analysis and variance analysis, the records of linear algebra course are analyzed in this paper The results show that the records are well distributed, the pass rate and mathematical expectation are high and present a good trend It shows that as long as the teaching reform is deepened, with the common efforts of the teachers and students, the teaching quality of college linear algebra can be completely guaranteed So a good method is given in this paper that applies the theory and method of statistical analysis to practical problems and teaching reform analysis

Abstract:This paper covers three issues related to the improvement of teaching and learning of Linear Algebra in the School of Science, Beijing Institute of Technology. First, I will consider the problems currently faced by teachers and students of this subject. Then modern advances in teaching mathematics with computers will be outlined. Finally, I will discuss my plans to change the teaching of Linear Algebra in order to partly solve the problems, or at least improve my lectures and increase the learning outcomes of my students. The plan contains two parts: one is to use MATLAB in my lectures; the other is to establish a Linear Algebra web site.

History and Overview

Abstract:Linear algebra represents, with calculus, the two main mathematical subjects taught in science universities. However this teaching has always been difficult. In the last two decades, it became an active area for research works in mathematics education in several countries. Our goal is to give a synthetic overview of the main results of these works focusing on the most recent developments. The main issues we will address concern: the epistemological specificity of linear algebra and the interaction with research in history of mathematics; the cognitive flexibility at stake in learning linear algebra; three principles for the teaching of linear algebra as postulated by G. Harel; the relation between geometry and linear algebra; an original teaching design experimented by M. Rogalsk.

Abstract:Abstract Nowadays it is important to improve in higher education students the critical thinking skills and dispositions in the different curricular units that are part of their schooling. Since “Linear Algebra” is a curricular unit part of any degree in engineering, we show that it is possible to integrate activities in their classes that enable the development of skills and critical thinking dispositions by students. We present examples of such activities for one item/topic of the syllabus of Linear Algebra as a proposal for future implementation in the teaching process. We will apply principles of instructional design planning and evaluation of those activities that develop critical thinking skills and dispositions in students. We will also apply active learning principles and cooperative learning strategies, including the learning based on problem solving, using questioning.

Abstract:This paper outlines our ideas on how to teach linear algebra in a mechanized mathematical environment, and discusses some of our reasons for thinking that this is a better way to teach linear algebra than the ``old fashioned way''. We discuss some technological tools such as Maple, Matlab, Python, and Jupyter Notebooks, and some choices of topics that are especially suited to teaching with these tools. The discussion is informed by our experience over the past thirty or more years teaching at various levels, especially at the University of Western Ontario.
