Combination of Teaching and Research：A Mission of the Undergraduate Education in Research Universities

Abstract:Undergraduate teaching and research works are two crucial aspects in today＇s research universities.This paper aims to eliminate the previous misunderstanding of that undergraduate teaching and research works are independent characters and may harm each other＇s development.On the contrary,the two aspects of research universities can mutually unify and promote to move forward.This paper proposes the method and advantages of introducing research into undergraduate teaching.The practice of a key laboratory which employs undergraduate students to participate in research works is taken as an example.The paper describes how to have a good performance in undergraduate teaching as well as research works.
