A Questionnaire Investigation and Evaluation of Teaching Effects of External Hernia among Seven-year Medical Students

Abstract:Objective To investigate the effects of external hernia teaching for seven-year students of clinical medicine,and analyze the factors on the students' part that affect the teaching effects.Methods A questionnaire investigation was conducted.There were two class sessions.Questionnaire 1 was filled before class and then taken back,while Questionnaire 2 was filled after class and then taken back.A total of 90 copies were distributed randomly.Questionnaire 1 involves the interest in the study of clinical medicine,lesson preparation before class,the mental state before class and the possible career choice after graduation.Questionnaire 2 concerns the difficult points of the class and how well students mastered what had been taught in class.Results A total of 88(98%) copies of Questionnaire 1 and 80 copies(89%) of Questionnaire 2 were collected.Seventy(79.55%) students showed interest in clinical medicine,38 students(43%) made lesson preparations before class,66 students(82.50%) regarded anatomical knowledge as the difficult point of the class,and 62 students(77.50%) thought that they had already grasped what had been taught.Conclusion The teaching effects are obviously affected by the students' interest in studying clinical medicine, the accumulation of basic medical knowledge,and metal state before class.
