Abstract:We reveal that the two-variable Hermite function h(m,,n), which is the generalized Bargmann representation of the two-mode Fock state, involves quantum entanglement of harmonic oscillator's wave functions. The Schmidt decomposition of h(m,n) is derived. It also turns out that h(m,)n can be generated by windowed Fourier transform of the single-variable Hermite functions. As an application, the wave function of the two-variable Hermite polynomial state S(r)H-m,H-n(mu a(1)(,\dagger),mu a(2)(dagger)vertical bar 00], which is the minimum uncertainty state for sum squeezing, in [eta vertical bar representation is calculated.

Abstract:Based on the nonlinear realization of the SU(1, 1) algebra whose generators are R(dagger)=a(dagger)root N+1, R, and N+1/2 we introduce the concept of field intensity-dependent squeezing and find that the state L(M)(-yR(dagger))\0], where L(M)(x) is a Laguerre polynomial, is a minimum uncertainty stare for field intensity-dependent squeezing.

Abstract:Based on the two-mode squeezing operator which is the quantum version of the symplectic transformation, we find that the corresponding squeezed two-mode number state is just a two-variable Hermite polynomial excited state, which possesses well-behaved features, e.g. its Wigner function is a direct product of two Laguerre polynomials; its Husimi function, a Gaussian broaden version of the Wigner function, is related to two-variable Hermite polynomials. Moreover, its quantum statistical features, such as squeezing properties and the inter-mode photon bunching, are discussed.

Abstract:For the two-mode photon number-difference operator D = a(dagger) a-b(dagger)b and the Noh, Fougers and Mandel (NFM) operational phase operator R-dagger = root a(dagger)+b/a+b(dagger) introduce the concept of number-difference-phase squeezing. We then find a new minimum-uncertainty state for number-difference-phase squeezing, which turns out to be a special combination of generalized SU(1,1) coherent state. As a by-product, a new orthonormal and complete representation in two-mode Fock space made up of R-dagger n\m, m] is found.

Abstract:For a general multiphoton annihilation operator, F = f(N)ap, where N = a†a, we find the explicit form of an operator, G†, which satisfies [F, G†] = 1. Based on the nonlinear realization of the SU(1,1) Lie algebra whose generators are [Formula: see text], [Formula: see text], and R0 = [N/p] + 1/2. We introduce the concept of intensity-dependent multiphoton squeezing and find that the state Lm(–yR†)|j⟩, 0 ≤ j ≤ p, where Lm(x) is a Laguerre polynomial, is a minimum uncertainty state for intensity-dependent multiphoton squeezing. We also construct the phase states for multiphoton operator, which turn out to be SU(1,1) generalized coherent states. Additionally, we show that the photon-added coherent state |α, m⟩ (m is a non-negative integer), which can be interpreted as a nonlinear coherent state, can be expressed as [Formula: see text] in the whole Fock space.

Abstract:We investigate some properties of the states a(+n)b(+m)S2(xi)\00 > (xi = re(itheta), which represent the excitations on the two-mode squeezed vacuum. We find that such states are normalized in the fomi of Jacobi polynomials of the squeezing parameter r. Based on this property, the squeezing and the statistical properties of the field in such states are also discussed.

Abstract:We emphasize the importance of two-mode Hermite poly-nomials in quantum optics theory,we consider it as the prominent function in studying the entangled state of continuum variables and two-mode squeezed state,and that possesses a clear physical meaning.By virtue of the two-mode Hermite polynomials and combining operators' integration technique within normal and antinormal orderings,we derive some new operator identities and mutual invertible integration transformation,and prove that squeezed two-mode number state is just the two-mode Hermite polynomial excited squeezed two-mode vacuum state.

Abstract:The one- and two-mode combination squeezed states are constructed by applying the operator U identical to exp(-i lambda (erQ1P2+e-rQ2P1)) or W identical to exp(-i lambda (erQ1Q2-e-rP1P2)) (where lambda , r are real; Qi, Pi, i=1, 2 are coordinate and momentum operators, respectively) to the vacuum state. When the condition tanh lambda <1/(1+cosh r) is satisfied, such states can have less fluctuations in one quadrature phase than the usual two-mode squeezed state. Here, the authors examine the higher-order squeezing properties for such states. The result shows that under the same conditions, these states can exhibit a stronger form of higher-order squeezing than the usual two-mode squeezed state.

Abstract:By virtue of the entangled state representation and the technique of integration within an ordered product (IWOP) of operators we derive some new two-variable Hermite-polynomial-operator identities, their application for calculating moment and cumulant for two-mode quadratures in quantum field theory are presented. The new operator identities make all calculations neat and concise.

Abstract:Based on the neat < eta\ representation of the two-mode squeezing operator which entangles signal-mode and idlemode, where < eta\ is the common eigenvector of the relative position of two particles and the total momentum exhibiting a maximal entanglement between the two modes, we study some kind of squeezing mixing 1-3 modes and 2-4 modes for a pair of two-mode (1-2 modes and 3-4 modes) squeezed states. The explicit form of such mixed squeezed states is derived and the new entanglement is analysed.

Abstract:We show that the operator U=exp[-ir(Q(1)P(2)+Q(2)P(3)+Q(3)P(1))] is a three-mode squeezing operator for the three-mode quadratures exhibiting the standard squeezing, the corresponding squeezed vacuum state in three-mode Fock space is derived by virtue of the technique of integration within ordered product of operators. The entanglement involved in such a state is explained. The optical network for producing the three-mode squeezed state is proposed.

Abstract:We find that the exponential operator V = exp[i.lambda(Q(1)P(2) + Q(2)P(3) + ... + Q(n-1)P(n) + Q(n)P(1))], Q(i), P-i are, respectively, the coordinate and momentum operators, is an n-mode squeezing operator which engenders standard squeezing. By virtue of the technique of integration within an ordered product of operators we derive V's normally ordered expansion and obtain the n-mode squeezed vacuum states, its Wigner function is calculated by using the Weyl ordering invariance under similar transformations. Abstract:According to the principle of linear superposition of quantum mechanics, the multimode entangled states vertical bar psi((3)) > 2(q)is formed on the finite-dimensional (N+1) Hilbert space by linearly superposing three quantum states: the multimode complex conjugate coherent state vertical bar{Z(j)*} > multimode complex conjugate imaginary coherent statel vertical bar{Z(j)*} > (2q) and multimode vacuum state vertical bar{O-j} > (2q) and their difference squeezing properties of generalized nonlinear equal-power N-th power is studied by utilizing the general theory of multirnode squeezed states. The results show that on the finite -dimensional Hilbert space,while some conditions are satisfied, the two quadratures of the statel vertical bar psi((3)) > (2q) present the equal-power N-th power difference squeezing properties, but under some other conditions, the difference squeezing effects of two quadratures can be displayed at the same time. The squeezed depth or squeezed degree in this space is different from that on the full-dimensional Hilbert space. The later result is not in conformity with the uncertainty principle. It is called "two -sided difference squeezing.

Abstract:By virtue of the technique of integration within an ordered product of operators, we derive the normal ordering expansion of a one- and two-mode combination squeezing operator for two harmonic oscillators with coordinate- 1/2mi + momentum coupling. It turns out that this squeezing operator just diagonalizes the Hamiltonian H = p(1)(2)/2m(1) + m(1)omega(2)(1)x(1)(2)/2 +p(2)(2)/2m(2) + m(2)omega(2)(2)x(2)(2) - lambda x(2)p(1) so its ground state is a one- and two-mode combination squeezed state. Quantum fluctuation in the ground state is calculated.

Abstract:By constructing a generalized multi-partite entangled state representation and introducing the ket-bra integral in this representation, we find a new set of generalized bosonic realization of the generators of the SU(1, 1) algebra, which can compose a generalized multi-mode squeezing operator. This operator squeezes the multi-partite entangled state in a natural way. Then the corresponding multi-mode squeezed vacuum states |r > is obtained. Based on this, the variances of the n-mode quadratures and the higher-order squeezing in |r > are evaluated. In addition, we examine the violation of the Bell inequality for |r > by using the formalism of Wigner representation.

Abstract:From the Heisenberg uncertainty relation in conjunction with partial transposition, we derive a class of inequalities for detecting entanglements in four-mode states. The sufficient conditions for bipartite entangled states are presented. We also discuss the generalization of the entanglement conditions via the Schrödinger-Robertson indeterminacy relation, which are in general stronger than those based on the Heisenberg uncertainty relation.

Abstract:In terms of the two-variable Hermite polynomials' properties we derive the common eigenstates \q, lambda] of two permutable operators (a(dagger) + b)(a + b(dagger)) and a(dagger)a - b(dagger)b, where q is discrete and lambda is continuous. Abstract:By the complex multimode Bogoliubov transformation, we obtain the general forms of squeeze operators and squeezed states including squeezed vacuum states, squeezed coherent states, squeezed Fock states and squeezed coherent Fock states, for a general multimode boson system. We decompose the squeezed operator into disentangling form in normal ordering to simplify the expressions of the squeezed states. We also calculate the statistical properties of the SS. Furthermore we prove that if it is non-degenerate, a Bogoliubov transformation matrix can be decomposed into three basic matrix, by which we can not only check the criterion of the minimum uncertainty state (MUS) found by Milburn [1], but also prove that except the special cases, any multimode squeezed state is MUS after the original creation and annihilation operators rotate properly.
