The Dynamic Changes of PGE2 and Sil-2R in Patients with Colorectal Carcinoma Pre-and Post-Operation and the Clinical Significance

Abstract:Objective To determine the dynamic change of the levels of peripheral blood PGE2 and sIL-2R in patients with colorectal carcinoma pre-and post-operation and the clinical significance.Methods 61 patients with colorectal carcinoma were recruited in the study,15 cases had simultaneously distant metastasis,and 46 patients did not show any obvious distant metastasis.11 patients underwent palliative resection and 9 patients received laparotomy.41 patients received resection.Healthy individual at physical examination were considered as controls.The levels of peripheral blood PGE2,sIL-2R,CD4+ and CD8+ pre-and post-operation in 61 patients with colorectal carcinoma were assayed respectively.Results The patients with colorectal cancer had a high concentration of peripheral blood PGE2 and sIL-2R before operation.The levels were considerably higher than the normal in this study.But the level of IL-2 and CD4+/CD8+in peripheral blood were lower than the control group before surgical operation.The peripheral blood PGE2 and sIL-2R had a negative correlation with IL-2.The levels of sIL-2R and PGE2 were lower after the original tumor was resected and the levels of IL-2 and CD4+/CD8+ were higher after operation than that before operation,the levels of PGE2 and sIL-2R decreased almost to normal in the patients with radical resection,but were still higher in those with palliative resection.Conclusions PGE2 and sIL-2R participate in the immunologic hypofunction existing in the patients with colorectal carcinoma before operation.The level of peripheral blood PGE2 and sIL-2R may be considered as an auxiliary monitor maker of whether recurrence of distant metastasis has developed after radical resection.
