Abstract:It is well recognized that the innovation, which sets up the advanced college student athletes' team in higher education, can be seen as a component of the national sports system and meaningful supplement to current competitive sports system, thereby contributing to the implementation of 'Olympic honor-winning plan'. Based on the specific theoretical framework, the detailed exploration and profound analysis was offered in this study, with an emphasis on ten following aspects: 1) comparative analysis on the situation between the domestic and the foreign; 2) object orientation and item selection; 3) construction (organization and management) mode;4) sources of coaches and athletes and its constructing mode; 5) integration of learning and training; 6) scientific training; 7) sources of funds and procedural assurance; 8) competition affairs; 9) team management; 10) impacts on education, sports and society and so on. Following from the experiences of cultivating advanced college students' athletes which proved successfully in the context of the foreign countries, Tsinghua University embarked the proposed experiment and research on establishing the model of cultivating the national-level student athletes in higher education with Chinese characteristics. Abundant experiences proved that the proposed purposed can be implemented in an all-round way with the successful cooperation of sports fields and education fields.
