Expression of Cgmp-Binding, Cgmp-Specific Phosphodiesterase 5 in Mouse Ovary

Abstract:Objective To investigate the expression and localization of cGMP specific,cGMP binding phosphodiesterase type-5(PDE5) in mouse ovary.Methods The slices of mouse ovary were stained by immunohistochemistry to detect the expression of PDE5 in mouse ovary.The PDE5 protein of mouse tissue and cells were also detected by Western blot.Results PDE5 was strongly immunostained in theca cells and corpus luteum.Positively stained PDE5 was also present in oocytes of all follicles,cumulus-oocyte complexes(COCs) and cumulus cells of big,antral follicles.No immunostaining of granulosa cells in small follicles was detected.Conclusion The expression of PDE5 has been for the first time revealed in mouse ovary,providing a physiological basis for investigation of the regulation of ovary function by PDE5.
