Abstract:According to the increasing requirements for format specification of academic papers,and solving the problems of the drawback of traditional typesetting and checking methods relying on manual work,this Paper researches into a paper checking and composing system with multi-template and multi-format,based on Object Linking Embedding(OLE) Technology that combines C# and Word,and designs out functions including Template file import,Standard format export,Paper format checking and Automatic file composing.The System has benn put into use and the results show that the quality and efficiency of paper checking and composing are significantly improved by the system.

Abstract:Presents an automatic Chinese text proof-reading system based on word matching and syntax analysis, which uses the regulation-based and count-based methods to avoid the use of large scale corpus, and improves the RMM and the part corpus according to the input means of text, and then treats disperse strings found through word matching and syntax analysis , finds out error strings and corrects them through interaction between man and computer, and concludes from experimental results that 80% of errors can be found and about 5% are false-find errors, and the system can fulfill the general requirement for proof-reading.

Abstract:To avoid local distortion,stroke break and thickness variation in steel billets characters,a real-time online identification system based on improved template matching was proposed.Through image processing technique including grayscale area filter,improved auto-threshold algorithm,noises were filtered and characters were extracted from the image.Single character was achieved by using projection function.Classical template matching technique was improved by membership assignment conception to recognize characters robustly.Experimental results proved the feasibility and effectiveness of the system.Stability and real-time performance of the method were catering to production requirements.

Abstract:Spelling errors of data entry is an important factor which influences banking data quality. Based on banking information system, we study non-word spelling errors occurring in the process of typing in with keyboard. The fingering of keyboarders and QWERTY international keyboard layout will be taken into account in the division of the letters. 26 letters will be divided into 5 types according to fingering and keyboard partitions, and accordingly, a mathematical model based on keyboard probability will be proposed. Combined with effective labeling and sequencing methods of erroneous words, this model will further lead to a recommended list of misspelled words. Case study based on this model is carried out and a process of correcting the nonword spelling errors is demonstrated. The study shows that the method proposed in this paper will effectively produce the recommended list of misspelled words and improve the quality of data entry.

Abstract:Semantic error checking is a weak point of automatic proofreading for Chinese texts, with few mature methods at present. The paper discusses the technology of semantic error detection for Chinese texts, proposes a strategy combining statistical and rules approaches, and uses the collocation relationship based on instances, statistics and rules to check errors. The strategy checks both local semantic restraints and remote semantic collocations, and achieves satisfactory results.

Abstract:With the widely usage of the electronic files, the automatic processing of the corresponding documents has become a hot topic. In this paper, we consider the features of the files and have a research on the question. First, we get the template automatically of the input electronic file-image from the template base, and have a registration between the two images. Secondly, we delete the template data from the input image, and retain the mis-deleted information. Finally, we get the filled information of the original form. The experimented result shows that the method is effective and practicable.

Abstract:This article puts forward a method of vertical proof-reading based on OCR,providing a new approach to word-processing,picture-displaying and proof-reading as well as a detailed analysis of array structure and its accessing method.Take vertical proof-reading of Chinese characters as an example,our experiment shows this method is quite efficient and works at a fast speed.It helps an experienced proof-reader to have an error rate less than 0.03% by using vertical and horizontal proof-reading.

Abstract:Post-processing is a key component of Chinese character recognition system. Conventional post-processing methods, which to a large extent rely on statistical language model, can' t track dependencies within an article. They also can' t take the dynamic idiosyncrasy of recognizer into account. This paper presents a novel adaptive post-processing method that utilizes the partly corrected texts. These texts can be used to construct adaptive language model and to obtain the idiosyncrasy of recognizer which can help dynamically adjust candidates set. The method makes the post-processing of successive docunents recognition be of adaptability. Experiments on about 400000 Chinese characters show that the proposed method has 35.24％ error reduction rate in average,compared with the conventional post-processing method. This method can efficiently reduce the workload in the case of large-scale data input and has higher practicability.

Abstract:The invention relates to the technical field of computers, in particular to an automatic error correcting method and system for text input. The method includes the steps of g1, inputting a discrete clicking information sequence I in a virtual input area through clicking, wherein the clicking information sequence I corresponds to a text sequence S; g2, aiming at the discrete clicking information sequence I, calculating the occurrence probability of words W1, W2, ..., Wi, ..., and Wn in a word bank according to the relevance of clicking operations; g3, sorting W1, W2, ..., Wi, ..., and Wn according to the probability in descending order; g4, outputting the sorted words and replacing the text sequence S to complete error correction. The method has the advantages that relevancy of clicking operations is used for automatic error correcting, and the problem that when only single clicking information is considered, the problem that the existing text input error correction is low in success rate even cannot correct error due to virtual terminal limitation or different input manners of users can be solved.

Abstract:The great amount of information that can be stored in electronic media is growing up daily. Many of them is got mainly by typing, such as the huge of information obtained from web 2.0 sites; or scaned and processing by an Optical Character Recognition software, like the texts of libraries and goverment offices. Both processes introduce error in texts, so it is difficult to use the data for other purposes than just to read it, i.e. the processing of those texts by other applications like e-learning, learning of languages, electronic tutorials, data minning, information retrieval and even more specialized systems such as tiflologic software, specifically blinded people-oriented applications like automatic reading, where the text would be error free as possible in order to make easier the text to speech task, and so on. In this paper it is showed an application of automatic recognition and correction of ortographic errors in electronic texts. This task is composed of three stages: a) error detection; b) candidate corrections generation; and c) correction -selection of the best candidate. The proposal is based in part of speech text categorization, word similarity, word diccionaries, statistical measures, morphologic analisys and n-grams based language model of Spanish.

Abstract:This paper presents the framework and key technologies of TH-OCR software system for multilingual (Chinese, English, Japanese, Korean) document analysis, recognition and reconstruction. The software can convert scanned document image into machine-readable document while preserving its original layout with high recognition rate. The key technologies of TH-OCR include high performance multilingual character recognition kernel, Chinese (Japanese/Korean)-English mixed-script character segmentation technique, automatic layout analysis, understanding, and reconstruction, etc. It is a useful tool to digitize large scale of documents for application such as digital library, electronic publication via Internet or CD-ROM.

Abstract:The Chinese language and literature layout has important application value. How to quickly and efficiently deal with the huge amount, diverse forms, and complex content of Chinese language and literature is a problem that people pay more attention to. In addition, a large number of digital resources exist in the form of images instead of text encoding. How to efficiently manage and use this document information, especially the fast retrieval of document content, is an important research direction. This paper mainly discusses the processing of Chinese language and literature layout combined with text image preprocessing algorithm and researches into the skew correction of document images. There are many types of documents, and many tilt correction methods are based on prior knowledge. If such a sample quality situation occurs, the image needs to be preprocessed. Using denoising to remove useless noise information and using correction technology to leave and strengthen the classified effective information, we can carry out the next step of retrieval and recognition. The preprocessing avoids interference and destruction of the feature description algorithm by other factors as much as possible and guarantees the effect of recognition and retrieval to a certain extent. This paper proposes a method of document image tilt correction based on the content of the document. According to different document contents, we select the corresponding strategy to estimate the document tilt. This paper uses two-dimensional wavelet transform, runs length smoothing and thinning preprocessing to extract the lines and text lines in the document image, and uses the least square method of linear parameters to estimate the inclination angle of the document. This method has the characteristics of high accuracy of tilt estimation and strong adaptability. The accuracy of feature line matching in geometric structure classification can reach 97%. This research helps to promote the continuous development of Chinese language and literature.

Abstract:Digital camera is gradually replacing traditional flat-bed scanner as the main access to obtain text information for its usability, cheapness and high-resolution, there has been a large amount of research done on camera-based text understanding. Unfortunately, arbitrary position of camera lens related to text area can frequently cause perspective distortion which most OCR systems at present cannot manage, thus creating demand for automatic text rectification. Current rectification-related research mainly focused on document images, distortion of natural scene text is seldom considered. In this paper, a scheme for automatic text rectification in natural scene images is proposed. It relies on geometric information extracted from characters themselves as well as their surroundings. For the first step, linear segments are extracted from interested region, and a J-Linkage based clustering is performed followed by some customized refinement to estimate primary vanishing point(VP) s. To achieve a more comprehensive VP estimation, second stage would be performed by inspecting the internal structure of characters which involves analysis on pixels and connected components of text lines. Finally VPs are verified and used to implement perspective rectification. Experiments demonstrate increase of recognition rate and improvement compared with some related algorithms.

Abstract:The efficiency and accuracy of field investigations and final language checking can be improved by computerized batch recording, transcription and sound analyses. The system gears to the needs of Chinese dialects and minority languages by combining language point management, recording, transcription, acoustic analyses, data checks, and conclude phonology to not only greatly improve the efficiency and accuracy of user investigation, but also promote language data communication capabilities with strict international phonetic transcription of standardized automatic detection correction. This software can be regarded as a complete set of data acquisition and processing capabilities.

Abstract:Large amounts of low- to medium-quality English texts are now being produced by machine translation (MT) systems, optical character readers (OCR), and non-native speakers of English. Most of this text must be postedited by hand before it sees the light of day. Improving text quality is tedious work, but its automation has not received much research attention. Anyone who has postedited a technical report or thesis written by a non-native speaker of English knows the potential of an automated postediting system. For the case of MT-generated text, we argue for the construction of postediting modules that are portable across MT systems, as an alternative to hardcoding improvements inside any one system. As an example, we have built a complete self-contained postediting module for the task of article selection (a, an, the) for English noun phrases. This is a notoriously difficult problem for Japanese-English MT. Our system contains over 200,000 rules derived automatically from online text resources. We report on learning algorithms, accuracy, and comparisons with human performance.

Abstract:The article describes the automated formatting verification technique of docx document elements which were the basis for developed online service. Checking the document formatting correctness is an important task when writing various research papers, explanatory notes for course projects, and other scientific works. The article describes the approach for identifying design features of text document elements. The structure of the client-server interaction of the service, the operation of which was simulated, is also given. Such a machine learning algorithm as gradient boosting on decision trees CatBoost was chosen as the primary tool for multi-classification. Empirically refined parameters of the algorithm that increase its accuracy are described. Special attention is paid to the developed method of checking the results of classification of elements, the sequence of which has different regularities. This approach allows us to identify the formatting classes of docx files elements that were incorrectly identified by the classifier. Sometimes, it is possible to override the results of the classifier to increase the accuracy of checking the elements formatting in docx files.
A method to restore Chinese warped document images based on binding characters and building curved lines

Abstract:With rapid development of information technology, more and more document images are made by scanners. But new problem comes out that many of document images from thick books are warped. It is quite inconvenient for further process on computer. This paper introduces an integrative algorithm on restoring Chinese document images, which is a new filed and few researchers have worked on this subject yet. The complicated structure of Chinese 'block words' makes the problem more difficult. To solve this, a restoring method which is based on binding characters iteratively and building curved lines using parallel lines method is introduced. In the phase of fitting, SVR is adopted instead of other parameter methods. An idea of collaboration is also recommended to guarantee the quality of the final results. Correction rate of 94% for experiment of 300 document images proves this method works out very well. ©2009 IEEE.
