Abstract:A vast rural area,a very large agricultural population and backward economy characterize the Three Gorges Reservoir Area.This shows that the agric ultural development,rural prosperity in the area play an important part in the process of comprehensively constructing the well-off society,and the developme nt of the Characteristic agriculture is an inevitable way to achieve this goal.On the basis of the necessity analysis of the development of the Characteristic agriculture,the paper analyses the actual bases of developing characteristic ag riculture in the Three Gorges Reservoir Area.In the end,it puts forward tactic s and modes for the development of the Characteristic agriculture.
