Abstract:Uncertain calculus is a branch of mathematics that deals with the integral and differential of functions of uncertain processes. This paper first introduces the Liu process as an uncertain process defined by the Liu integral. Some properties of Liu processes are investigated such as sample continuity property, finite variation property, and the fact that a continuously differentiable function of the Liu process is another Liu process, among others. Based on the Liu process, the uncertain integral is extended. Furthermore, some mathematical properties are proved, including the fundamental theorem, change of variable theorem, and integration by parts theorem. Finally, uncertain calculus with respect to multiple Liu processes is discussed.

Abstract:A finite variation process is an uncertain process whose total variation is finite over each bounded time interval. Based on the finite variation processes, a new uncertain integral is proposed in this paper. Besides, some basic properties are discussed. In the framework of the uncertain integral, uncertain differential is introduced, and the fundamental theorem of uncertain calculus is derived. Finally, the integration by parts theorem is studied.

Abstract:Uncertain calculus is a branch of mathematics that deals with the differentiation and integration of functions of uncertain processes. Some important results are developed for finite variation and linearity of integral. Abstract:This paper initializes higher-order uncertain calculus that deals with higher-order differentiation and multiple integration of uncertain process based on uncertainty theory. Fubini theorem and fundamental theorem of higher-order uncertain calculus are derived. Finally, this paper rigorously defines higher-order uncertain differential equations and introduces some analytic methods for solving these equations.

Abstract:In this paper, several useful inequalities for uncertain variables are proved. A Borel-Cantelli lemma for uncertain measures is obtained and some convergence theorems for continuous uncertain measures are derived. Finally, these theorems are applied to compute the uncertainty distribution of Liu integral. We prove that the uncertain integral of a deterministic function with respect to a Liu process has a normal uncertainty distribution.

Abstract:This paper first reviews dierent types of uncertainty. In order to construct fuzzy counterparts of Brownian motion and stochastic calculus, this paper proposes some basic concepts of fuzzy process, in- cluding fuzzy calculus and fuzzy dierential equation. Those new concepts are also extended to hybrid process and uncertain process. A basic stock model is presented, thus opening up a way to fuzzy financial mathematics.

Stability analysis on uncertain differential equation is to investigate the qualitative properties, which is significant both in theory and application for uncertain differential equations. This paper aims to study stability properties of linear uncertain differential equations. First, the stability concepts are introduced. And then, several sufficient and necessary conditions of stability for linear uncertain differential equations are proposed. Besides, some examples are discussed.

Abstract:This paper presents some continuous dependence theorems on solutions of uncertain differential equations based on uncertain measure. We first introduce some properties on solution of uncertain differential equation. And then, we provide a continuous dependence theorem, and a continuity theorem to the initial value. In the proposed continuity theorem, the solution is regarded as a ternary function of initial values. Furthermore, we discuss how the solution continuously depends on initial value and parameter, and propose two theorems, namely, continuous dependence theorem on parameter, and continuity theorem on parameter to the initial value.

Production of neutrons, neutrinos and gamma-rays by a very fast pulsar in the Galactic Center region

Abstract:We consider the possibility that the excess of cosmic rays near $\sim 10^{18}$ eV, reported by the AGASA and SUGAR groups from the direction of the Galactic Center, is caused by a young, very fast pulsar in the high density medium. The pulsar accelerates iron nuclei to energies $\sim 10^{20}$ eV, as postulated by the Galactic models for the origin of the highest energy cosmic rays. The iron nuclei, after about 1 yr since pulsar formation, leave the supernova envelope without energy losses and diffuse through the dense central region of the Galaxy. Some of them collide with the background matter creating neutrons (from desintegration of Fe), neutrinos and gamma-rays (in inelastic collisions). Wse suggest that neutrons produced at a specific time after the pulsar formation are responsible for the observed excess of cosmic rays at $\sim 10^{18}$ eV. From normalization of the calculated neutron flux to the one observed in the cosmic ray excess, we predict the neutrino and gamma-ray fluxes. It has been found that the 1 km$^2$ neutrino detector of the IceCube type should detect from a few up to several events per year from the Galactic Center, depending on the parameters of the considered model. Also future systems of Cherenkov telescopes (CANGAROO III, HESS, VERITAS) should be able to observe 1 - 10 TeV $\gamma$-rays from the Galactic Center if the pulsar was created inside a huge molecular cloud about $3-10\times 10^3$ yrs ago.

Abstract:Uncertain differential equation is a type of differential equation driven by a canonical Liu process. Traditional uncertain differential equation can only deal with a continuous dynamic uncertain system. To model the sharp drifts embedded in an uncertain dynamic system, this paper proposes a type of uncertain differential equation driven by a canonical Liu process and an uncertain renewal process, which is called an uncertain differential equation with jumps. A sufficient condition for the proposed equation having a unique solution is first given, then a concept of stability for the proposed equation is provided in the sense of uncertain measure, and its sufficient condition is also derived.

Abstract:Uncertain differential equation is a type of differential equation driven by canonical process. In this paper, a concept of α-path to uncertain differential equation is first introduced, which is a type of deterministic function that solves an associate ordinary differential equation. Then, a numerical method is designed for solving uncertain differential equations, which essentially solves each α-path and produces an inverse uncertainty distribution of the solution. To illustrate the efficiency of the numerical method, several examples are given.

Abstract: Uncertain reliability analysis was proposed by Liu [126] in 2010 as a tool to deal with system reliability via uncertainty theory. Note that uncertain reliability analysis and uncertain risk analysis have the same root in mathematics. They are separately treated for application convenience in practice rather than theoretical demand. This chapter will introduce a definition of reliability index and provide some useful formulas for calculating reliability index.

Abstract:This survey presents three approaches to (stochastic) integration with respect to fractional Brownian motion. The first, a completely deterministic one, is the Young integral and its extension given by rough path theory; the second one is the extended Stratonovich integral introduced by Russo and Vallois; the third one is the divergence operator. For each type of integral, a change of variable formula or Ito formula is proved. Some existence and uniqueness results for differential equations driven by fractional Brownian motion are available except for the divergence integral. Abstract:The canonical Liu process is a stationary and independent increment uncertain process with normal increments. As one of the most important types of uncertain processes, the fractional Liu process is presented as a variant of canonical Liu process, which has a potential application in modeling an irregular movement with long memory in a system associated with human uncertainty rather than stochastic factors. This paper is devoted to studying the mathematical properties of fractional Liu process such as the increments, variation and sample continuity, especially the Holder continuity of its sample paths.
