Abstract:A bstract A 34‐year‐old woman, with preceding flu‐like febrile illness, developed acute macular neuroretinopathy in her left eye with typical reddish brown macular lesions and a dense paracentral scotoma. Her condition was evaluated with multifocal electroretinogram and optical coherence tomography in her acute and recovery phases. The findings assist ophthalmologists striving for better understanding and diagnosis of acute macular neuroretinopathy.

Abstract:This report describes a case of idiopathic hypertrophic cranial pachymeningitis (IHCP) with scleritis and optic disc involvement. The patient was a 56-year-old woman with chief complaints of fever, headache, binocular pain, and redness. Biochemical and immunological indicators, cranial magnetic resonance imaging, and relevant ophthalmological examinations were employed for evaluation. Infectious and neoplastic causes were excluded. Typical meningeal thickening and enhancement on magnetic resonance imaging revealed IHCP. Diffuse hyperaemia and oedema of the conjunctiva and the T-shape sign on the B-scan suggested anterior and posterior scleritis, respectively. Abnormalities in fundus photography, optical coherence tomography, and visual field examination suggested optic disc involvement. After anti-infection and steroid therapy, the patient's temperature returned to normal and the symptoms of headache, binocular pain, and redness improved. Neurologists and ophthalmologists should consider the combination of IHCP with scleritis in their differential diagnosis when patients complain of headache accompanied by ocular pain and redness.

Abstract:Objective To observe the clinical characteristics and fundus imaging features of unilateral acute idiopathic maculopathy (UAIM).Methods Retrospective cases series.Six eyes of 6 patients with UAIM were included in this study.There were 4 males and 2 females.All patients underwent best corrected visual acuity (BCVA),fundus color photography,spectral domain optical coherence tomography (SD-OCT) and fundus fluorescein angiography (FFA) examinations.3 patients underwent indocyanine green angiography (ICGA) examination.No intervention was given in all patients after diagnosis.The mean follow-up was 6.3 months.BCVA,fundus color photography,SD-OCT and FFA were performed in follow-up.Results The ocular symptoms included unilateral sudden decreased vision,metamorphopsia and central scotoma.All patients had a yellow-white lesion involving the macular and irregular small bleeding was seen in 3 eyes.Irregular hyperfluorescence in macular area was seen in all patients,some with the hemorrhages showed blocked fluorescence at the early stage of FFA and fluorescence storage at the late stage.ICGA showed that hypo-fluorescence in macular area continually.SD-OCT showed that subretinal fluid in the macular and lost the ellipsoid zone.During the follow-up period,the subretinal fluid was absorbed spontaneously in one month.The ellipsoid zone structure recovered gradually and the visual acuity were normal.At the time of the latest follow-up,the BCVA was 0.8 in 4 eyes,1.0 in 2 eyes.Conclusions UAIM is featured with a unilateral,acute,transient and exudative lesion in the macular,which can be spontaneously resolved;It mainly affects outer retina.
Acute Macular Neuroretinopathy after SARS-CoV-2 Infection: an Analysis of Clinical and Multimodal Imaging Characteristics.

Abstract:BACKGROUND:This study aimed to analyze clinical and multimodal imaging characteristics of acute macular neuroretinopathy (AMN) post-recent severe acute respiratory syndrome coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2) infection.METHODS:Retrospective observational study. Medical records and multimodal imaging of 12 AMN eyes of eight patients (six female and two male) with recent SARS-CoV-2 infection were retrospectively analyzed.RESULTS:Four patients (50%) presented with bilateral AMN. Fundus ophthalmoscopy revealed a reddish-brown lesion around the macula, and two eyes had cotton-wool spots at the posterior pole. Three eyes showed mild hypo-autofluorescence. All FFA images (7 eyes) showed no abnormal signs. On OCT scans, all eyes showed outer nuclear layer (ONL) thinning, 8 eyes (66.7%) showed ONL hyperreflectivity, 5 eyes (41.7%) showed outer plexiform layer (OPL) hyperreflectivity, 8 eyes (66.7%) showed interdigitation zone (IZ) disruption, 11 eyes (91.6%) showed ellipsoid zone (EZ) disruption, 2 eyes (16.7%) showed cotton-wool spots and inner plexiform layer (IPL) hyperreflectivity, 1 eye (8.3%) had intraretinal cyst and 1 eye (8.3%) had inner nuclear layer (INL) thinning. Persistent scotoma, ONL hyperreflectivity and IZ/EZ disruption as well as recovery of OPL hyperreflectivity were reported after follow-up in three cases.CONCLUSIONS:AMN post-SARS-CoV-2 mostly affected young females and could present unilaterally or bilaterally. Dark lesions on IR reflectance and outer retinal hyperreflectivity on OCT are useful in diagnosing AMN. OPL/ONL hyperreflectivity on OCT could disappear after follow-up, but ONL thinning and IZ/EZ could persist.

Abstract:Purpose To describe a case of acute macular neuroretinopathy (AMN) associated with COVID-19 infection and a related literature review. Methods A case from the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University was reported that could be linked to COVID-19 or SARS-CoV-2 infection. We performed a comprehensive search on PubMed, retrieving articles containing information on AMN after COVID-19 or SARS-CoV-2 infection. The key words used were ‘COVID-19’, ‘SARS-CoV-2’, ‘ophthalmic manifestations’, ‘acute macular neuroretinopathy’, and ‘paracentral scotomas’. The relevant data were extracted, charted, consolidated, and evaluated. Moreover, manual exploration of the reference lists of pertinent articles was carried out. Results We describe the case of a 30-year-old young woman who developed bilateral AMN one day after being infected with COVID-19 or SARS-CoV-2. She had severe visual impairment (20/2000 OD and 20/32 OS), and her vision recovered after taking oral corticosteroids. After reviewing the literature, we summarized 16 relevant reports and found that symptoms of AMN tend to arise 1 day to 1 month after COVID-19 or SARS-CoV-2 infection. Contraceptive pills and other risk factors should be avoided to reduce the risk of adverse outcomes. Oral prednisone may be an effective treatment for those experiencing important vision loss. Conclusion Symptoms of AMN can arise 1 day to 1 month after COVID-19 or SARS-CoV-2 infection. Ophthalmologists should remain vigilant about this disease, notably because patient characteristics may deviate from the norm.

[Clinical characteristics of acute macular neuroretinopathy in China associated with COVID-19 infection]

Abstract:Objective: To investigate the clinical features of acute macular neuroretinopathy (AMN) following coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Methods: This retrospective case series study included 15 patients (28 eyes) diagnosed with AMN at the Department of Ophthalmology, Peking University Third Hospital, from November 2022 to January 2023. The AMN group comprised 4 males and 11 females, with a mean age of (31.36±8.08) years. A control group of 15 individuals [5 males, 10 females; mean age (33.20±5.10) years] who had COVID-19 but did not develop AMN was also included. Data collected for all patients included best-corrected visual acuity (BCVA), slit-lamp examination, dilated fundus examination, color fundus photography, fluorescein fundus angiography (FFA), and optical coherence tomography (OCT) results. Serum cytokine levels, including interleukins (ILs), interferons (IFNs), and tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α), were measured for both groups. Results: Among the 28 eyes, severe vision loss (BCVA≤0.3) was observed in 3 eyes (10.7%), moderate vision loss (BCVA>0.3 and≤0.5) in 2 eyes (13.3%), and mild vision loss (BCVA>0.5 and≤1.0) in 23 eyes (82.1%). OCT findings in all 28 eyes revealed hyperreflectivity of the outer nuclear layer and disruption of outer retinal structure. Additionally, 3 eyes (10.7%) exhibited cotton wool spots in the posterior pole, 2 eyes (7.1%) showed mild cystoid macular edema with intraretinal hyperreflective dots, and 1 eye (3.6%) presented with paracentral acute middle maculopathy. FFA indicated retinal vasculitis in 2 cases (4 eyes, 14.3%). Serum levels of IL-4, IL-5, IFN-α, and IFN-γ were significantly higher in the AMN group compared to the control group: IL-4 [4.49 (3.66, 6.08) vs. 1.40 (0.62, 1.68) pg/ml], IL-5 [7.34 (5.04, 14.06) vs. 0.17 (0.11, 1.86) pg/ml], IFN-α [8.42 (6.31, 14.89) vs. 0.50 (0.30, 0.83) pg/ml], and IFN-γ [17.93 (12.75, 32.44) vs. 7.43 (0.00, 14.74) pg/ml], with all differences being statistically significant (all P<0.05). Conclusion: AMN following COVID-19 can present with wedge-shaped dark red lesions in the macular area, often accompanied by cotton wool spots and retinal vasculitis. Additionally, there is a significant elevation in various inflammatory cytokines in the serum.

Abstract:Dengue fever (DF), which is caused by the dengue virus (DENV) and transmitted through Aedes mosquitoes, is well recognized for its systemic manifestations, with its ocular involvement gaining recent attention. We present a case of a 41-year-old Taiwanese female who developed acute macular neuroretinopathy (AMN) following a DF diagnosis related to DENV-1, emphasizing the need for awareness of this complication. The patient, with a history of completely resolved optic neuritis (ON) and comorbidities, experienced blurred vision on day 10 after the onset of DF. The ophthalmic examination revealed macular edema, ellipsoid zone (EZ) infiltration, and choriocapillaris involvement. Despite pulse therapy with corticosteroids, visual disturbances persisted, highlighting the challenge of managing ocular complications. Ocular manifestations in DF include hemorrhages, inflammation, and vascular complications. DF-associated AMN, a rare presentation, poses challenges in diagnosis and treatment response evaluation. While most patients recover spontaneously, some face persistent visual impairment, especially with AMN. Our case emphasizes the importance of recognizing ocular complications in DF, necessitating a multidisciplinary approach for optimal management and further research to delineate treatment strategies and outcomes.

Abstract:Ocular abnormalities have been reported in association with viral infections, including Long COVID, a debilitating illness caused by the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus 2 (SARS-CoV-2). This report presents a case of a female patient diagnosed with Acute Macular Neuroretinopathy (AMN) following an Influenza A virus infection during Long COVID who experienced severe inflammation symptoms and ocular complications. We hypothesize that the rare occurrence of AMN in this patient could be associated with the immune storm secondary to the viral infection during Long COVID.

Central Retinal Artery Occlusion and Cerebral Infarction Associated with Mycoplasma Pneumonia Infection in Children

Abstract:Background Central retinal artery occlusion (CRAO) is an arterial ischemic stroke, rarely occurred in children accompanied with asymptomatic cerebral infarction and almost never involved in severe pneumonia related to Mycoplasma pneumonia infection. Case presentation An 8-year-old boy with severe pneumonia related to Mycoplasma pneumonia infection that developed loss of vision in the left eye on the 14 th day. No light perception and no pupillary reaction to light were found in the left eye. The fundus examination revealed a cherry red spot with severe retinal edema at the macular and peripapillary area, and the optic disc was pale in the left eye but normal in the right eye, suggesting CRAO in the left eye. No obvious neurological symptoms and signs were observed on presentation. Magnetic resonance imaging of the brain showed an abnormal signal of the left lentiform nucleus, caudate nucleus and within the temporal lobe, suggesting an acute cerebral infarction. The analysis of cerebrospinal fluid showed an increasing leukocyte count, but no any pathogenic microorganisms were found. His respiratory symptoms disappeared promptly after therapy, and the patient was discharged after 11 days later, but there was no light in the left eye 2 months after discharge. Conclusion M. pneumoniae infection could be developed the risk for cerebral ischemic stroke, including CRAO in children with severe pneumonia. CRAO is a devastating ophthalmologic event leading to a severe impairment of vision. Patients treated within about 6 h of vision loss had a better visual outcome after the onset of vision loss.

Abstract:BACKGROUND During the Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) pandemic, a notable increase in acute macular neuroretinopathy (AMN) cases was observed. This study aimed to investigate the potential association between AMN and COVID-19 by examining 3 cases in China. CASE SUMMARY The first case involved a 30-year-old man who presented with progressive vision loss following a COVID-19 infection. Optical coherence tomography (OCT) and near-infrared imaging identified hallmark AMN lesions, hyperreflective disruptions within the outer plexiform layer, and hyporeflective anomalies in the ellipsoid zone, leading to an AMN diagnosis. Despite partial visual recovery, OCT angiography (OCTA) revealed persistent microvascular changes, specifically a decreased vascular density in the deep capillary plexus. The second case was a 24-year-old woman who experienced blurred vision and exhibited bilateral cotton-wool spots on fundus examination post-COVID-19. Imaging confirmed the presence of AMN along with paracentral acute middle maculopathy (PAMM). Follow-up OCTA found a progressive reduction in vascular density, indicating ongoing microvascular compromise. The third case was a 28-year-old woman who reported sensations of occlusion in her right eye following a COVID-19 infection. Imaging confirmed both AMN and PAMM, revealing similar decreases of microvascular density on OCTA despite a significant improvement in visual acuity. We noted that all 3 patients had received the COVID-19 vaccine prior to the appearance of symptoms. CONCLUSION The findings highlight the diagnostic utility of advanced ocular imaging in detecting AMN in COVID-19 patients and the importance of comprehensive eye examinations.

Abstract:To investigate the characteristics of acute visual dysfunction and fundus lesions in patients with COVID-19 pneumonia. A retrospective case series study was conducted. Data from 48 patients (96 eyes) with COVID-19 infection who presented to our ophthalmology department with acute onset visual disturbance between December 5, 2022, and February 28, 2023 were collected. Asymptomatic patients and those who had already recovered were excluded. Data collected included patient demographics, ophthalmic examinations, multicolor imaging (MCI), infrared autofluorescence (IR), spectral-domain optical coherence tomography (OCT), fundus fluorescein angiography (FFA). Of the 48 patients, 15 were male and 33 were female, with a mean age of 32 years. All patients had bilateral involvement. OCT showed hyperreflective signals in the outer plexiform layer and outer nuclear layer of the macular region in all 96 eyes of 48 patients (100%). Additionally, 66 eyes of 33 patients (68.8%) of eyes demonstrated abnormal reflectivity in the ellipsoid and interdigitation zones. MCI revealed petaloid or wedge-shaped hyperreflective areas in the macula in 46 (47.9%) of eyes, corresponding to hyporeflective areas on IR. Cotton-wool spots were observed in the peripapillary or posterior pole area in 54 (56.3%) of eyes. COVID-19 infection can lead to acute, bilateral, symmetric, and widespread retinal damage. Characteristic findings can be observed in ophthalmological examinations such as OCT, MCI, and IR.

Clinical Characteristics of Paracentral Acute Middle Maculopathy in Eyes with Retinal Vascular Occlusion Diseases in Chinese Patients

Abstract:Aim: To investigate the incidence and clinical characteristics of paracentral acute middle maculopathy (PAMM) and its relationship with prominent middle limiting membrane (p-MLM) sign in eyes with retinal artery occlusion (RAO) or retinal vein occlusion (RVO) in a Chinese clinical setting. Methods: In this retrospective observational study from January 2015 to May 2020, multimodal imaging data of 807 eyes including 555 consecutive patients with RVO or 252 consecutive patients with RAO were reviewed. All patients were scanned using the spectrum-domain optical coherence tomography (OCT), and some of them underwent color fundus photography, fundus fluorescence angiography, en face OCT, and OCT angiography. Results: PAMM was detected in 49 eyes of 49 RAO patients and 29 eyes of 29 RVO patients. The mean ages at presentation were 64.49 ± 13.90 years and 54.00 ± 18.48 years in RAO and RVO patients (P=0.006), respectively. Eyes with RAO were more prone to develop PAMM (19.44% [49/252] vs. 5.23% [29/555]; P < 0.001). Of the 78 eyes with PAMM, 24 eyes (7 eyes with RVO and 17 eyes with RAO) were found with p-MLM sign. An interesting phenomenon that had been overlooked before was that the hyperreflective line of the p-MLM sign was usually continuous, regardless of the type of PAMM lesion. Conclusions: This series is the largest to date to describe the clinical characteristics of PAMM and p-MLM sign in Chinese patients. The incidence of PAMM and p-MLM sign in patients with RAO was relatively higher than that in patients with RVO. These signs alone probably represent milder ischemia and prompt us to carry out a comprehensive and meticulous examination to prevent the further development of the disease. In addition, the hyperreflective line of the p-MLM sign was usually continuous, which could support the totally venous nature of the retinal deep capillary plexus to some extent.
The Relevance of Bacillary Layer Detachment and Choroidal flow Insufficiency in Unilateral Acute Idiopathic Maculopathy Associated with Hand, Foot, and Mouth Disease: A Case Report

Abstract:In a case of unilateral acute idiopathic maculopathy (UAIM) following hand, foot, and mouth disease, we aim to discuss the decreased perfusion of choriocapillaris secondary to systemic inflammation as shown by optical coherence tomography angiography (OCTA) and to assess the prognostic significance of bacillary layer detachment (BALAD). A 33-year-old male presented with a decrease of vision in the right eye (OD) for 5 days preceding viral prodromal symptoms and vesicular lesions on bilateral palms and soles along with vesicles and ulcers on the oral mucosa. The best-corrected visual acuity was finger counting at 1 meter distance in OD and 20/20 in his left eye (OS). Dilated fundus examination revealed a circular white-grey dome-shaped elevated lesion at the macula indicative of serous retinal detachment in OD. Spectral-domain optical coherence tomography demonstrated BALAD associated with adjacent subretinal and intraretinal fluid along with pigment epithelium detachment and disruption of ellipsoid and interdigitation zones. OCTA showed decreased choriocapillaris perfusion. All the investigations were normal in OS. The resolution of BALAD occurred during the first 2 days, which was followed by gradual improvement of choriocapillaris flow that lasted 2 months. UAIM is associated with hand, foot, and mouth disease. OCTA demonstrates both qualitative and quantitative data by detecting alterations in the choriocapillaris flow, which could be monitored during the disease course.
[Bilateral acute regional occult outer retinopathy: a case report]

Abstract:A 63-year-old female patient presented with "flashes of light in both eyes accompanied by decreased visual acuity for one year." Visual field examination revealed partial defects in the central 30° of the visual field in both eyes. Scanning laser ophthalmoscopy showed extensive atrophic lesions across the entire posterior pole of the retina in both eyes. Optical coherence tomography revealed atrophy and thinning of the retina in the macular regions, with significant atrophy of the photoreceptor inner segment and outer segment layer in the areas corresponding to the visual field defects. Fluorescein fundus angiography demonstrated thinning of the retinal arterioles. Early-phase imaging showed large window-like defects in the posterior retina with background fluorescence from choroidal macrovessels. In the late phase, patchy fluorescence staining with a circumferential hyperfluorescent area was observed. Pattern visual evoked potential and pattern electroretinography tests revealed a significant decrease in the P100 amplitude in both eyes. The patient was diagnosed with acute regional occult outer layer retinopathy in both eyes.

Abstract:Objective To observe the clinical and multimodel imaging characteristics ofparacentral acute middle maculopathy (PAMM).Methods Retrospective case series study.From January 2014 to August 2018,12 eyes of 12 patients with PAMM diagnosed in Department of Ophthalmology,Peking University People's Hospital,were included in this study.There were 9 males and 3 females,with the mean age of 57 years.All patients were referred for sudden impaired vision,with or without paracentral scotoma.The patients underwent BCVA,slit lamp examination,fundus photography,FFA and OCT.Simultaneously,OCT angiography (OCTA) was performed in 10 eyes,visual field was performed in 5 eyes,near infrared fundus photography was performed in 1 eye.Clinical and multimodal imaging findings were reviewed and analyzed.Results Among 12 eyes,there were 5 eyes with BCVA 0.05-≤0.1,4 eyes with BCVA 0.3-0.5,3 eyes with BCVA 0.6-1.0.There were 1 eye with central rentinal artery obstruction (CRAO),7 eyes with branch retinal artery obstruction (BRAO).Among them,BRAO with central retinal vein occlusion (CRVO) in 1 eye,with non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy in 1 eye,with diabetic retinopathy in 1 eye;old BRAO in 3 eyes;pure BRAO in 1 eye.There were 4 eyes with pure CRVO,including 3 eyes with ischemic CRVO.All eyes demonstrated hyperreflective lesions at the level of the inner nuclear layer and/or outer plexus layer on OCT.En face OCT highlighted the areas with hyperreflectivity corresponding to these lesions.OCTA demonstrated significant deep capillary dropout,abnormal morphology and enlargement of foveal avascular zone.Conclusion Hyperreflective band-like lesions at the level of the inner nuclear layer on OCT and middle retinal perivascular hyperreflectivity on en face scan are characteristic in PAMM.
Reflections on a case of Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada syndrome first diagnosed in internal medicine: a case report

Abstract:Background: A case of Vogt-Koyanagi-Harada syndrome (VKH) first diagnosed with encephalitis was reported and it bring us the clinical reflection. Case description: A 73-year-old Chinese woman was first diagnosed in the department of neurology with headache, nausea, vomiting, and elevated body temperature. Cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) assays showed significant increases in leukocytes and Cerebrospinal fluid total protein (CS-TP). Gradually, symptoms appeared in the eyes including decreased vision, keratic precipitates (KP) (+++), iris local posterior adhesion, vitreous opacity, and optic disc congestion edema. The fundus fluorescence examination showed optic disc hyperfluorescence with both eyes exudative retinal detachment. Type-B ultrasonography of obit showed a large number of flocculent opacities in the vitreous and retinal edema. Optical coherence tomography (OCT) showed that significant edema was evident in the macular area and papillary, and there were wavy changes in the retinal pigment epithelium layer. Review of the clinical, photographic, fundus fluorescence angiography (FFA) data of the patient suggested a clinical diagnosis of VKH. Conclusions: VKH is an autoimmune disease involving many systems. It has specific systemic symptoms, such as tinnitus, dizziness, headache, nausea, skin injury and so on. But Neurological and auditory manifestations usually precede the involvement of other sites especially in the neurological manifestations. So we should pay attention to the diversity of clinical manifestations, so as to avoid delaying treatment or even misdiagnosis in clinical diagnosis and treatment.
UNILATERAL COVID-19-ASSOCIATED VASCULITIC CENTRAL RETINAL VEIN OCCLUSION: PHLEBITIS WITH SUBHYALOID, INTRARETINAL, AND SUBRETINAL HEMORRHAGES

Abstract:Purpose: To describe unilateral vasculitic central retinal vein occlusion in a young adult whose vision problems preceded systemic symptoms of COVID-19 infection. Methods: Observational clinical case report. Results: A 39-year-old immunocompetent man without prior ocular disease presented for vitreoretinal care complaining of decreasing vision in his right eye for 2 weeks. Headaches, pharyngitis, and coughing began 4 days after his visual symptoms. COVID-19 testing was negative before initial vitreoretinal evaluation and positive afterward. Dilated and tortuous major retinal veins in his right eye had prominent perivascular sheathing. A large subhyaloid hemorrhage spanned the macula. Subretinal hemorrhages were present in areas of sheathing, and diffuse nerve fiber layer hemorrhages were arrayed in the distribution of the radial peripapillary capillary plexus. Laboratory tests for inflammatory diseases were negative. The patient was hospitalized for COVID-19 pneumonia a few days after his initial vitreoretinal evaluation. Pars plana vitrectomy was performed for persistent subhyaloid hemorrhage 8 weeks after his hospitalization. The VA in the patient's right eye improved from counting-fingers to 20/30 postoperatively. Conclusion: The patient's findings are consistent with an atypical central retinal vein occlusion which we hypothesize to be of vasculitic origin because of prominent associated retinal phlebitis and venous sheathing. Concomitant subhyaloid, nerve fiber layer, and subretinal hemorrhages involved the superficial and deep retinal vascular complexes. The patient's COVID-19-related hospitalization and systemic management delayed surgical management of his subhyaloid hemorrhages, but a good visual result was achieved despite persistence of macular preretinal blood for 3 months.

Abstract:Acute macular neuroretinopathy (AMN) is a rare disease that causes transient or permanent visual disturbance. The exact etiology remains unknown, but vascular compromise of the deep retinal capillary plexus was postulated as the main mechanism. Retinal vascular event post–coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19) infection is recently highlighted during the pandemic, which includes AMN.

Abstract:Purpose: To report the case of a 33-year old man who disclosed the first case of bilateral ocular involvement of hand, foot, and mouth disease (HFMD) with a different stage of the disease in each eye. Methods: Retrospective case report. Results: The study included a patient who incurred in a bilateral HFMD maculopathy. During 6 months follow-up period persistent abnormalities in fundus examination and in OCT scans were reported. Conclusion: We consider that our case shows that choriocapillaris is the primary target of HFMD maculopathy, for this reason we consider that ICGA is mandatory for early diagnosis and an effective treatment.
