Abstract:This paper discusses the variable step size least mean square(LMS) adaptive filtering algorithm,and establishes the new non-linear function relationship between the step size and the error signal through improving the Sigmoid function.The new function has the property of slow change when the error signal near to zero,overcomes the disadvantage of Sigmoid function in the process of step size adjustment of adaptive steady state,performs the improvement to the size of variable step(SVS)-LMS algorithm.The theoretic analysis and computer simulation results show that the convergence property of this algorithm is better than that of SVS-LMS algorithm.In addition,this paper also compares the algorithm and the variable step(VS)-LMS algorithm.The simulation results show that the algorithm has better anti-noise property than the VS-LMS algorithm in low signal noise ratio environment.
