Abstract:There are a series of problems in English education for Chinese children, and research on countermeasures to address these problems is becoming increasingly important. This study explores various problems and corresponding strategies from the perspective of English education for Chinese children. The research has found that Chinese children's English education faces many problems such as language difficulty, cognitive challenges, and insufficient teaching resources. In response to these issues, some scholars have proposed a series of countermeasures, including improving the quality of English teachers, optimizing teaching methods and textbooks, and enriching teaching resources. In addition, the study also explored the possibility of using technological means to improve teaching effectiveness and called for greater emphasis on children's English education in educational policies and curriculum arrangements. In summary, this study systematically explores the problems and countermeasures in English education for Chinese children, providing a useful reference for improving the quality of English education.

Abstract:This paper reviewed the directions, researchers, objects and areas distributed in the published papers from 5 foreign language teaching journals and 5 educational technology journals during the years 2000-2012 on the web-based English reading teaching in China to reveal such problems as lagging knowledge and technology of researchers, imbalanced objects as well as outdated and repeated contents. It thus suggested that the further development of web-based English reading teaching will focus on the compound knowledge of researchers, wider objects and interdisciplinary contents.

Abstract:The fastest development of technologies encourages computer multimedia-oriented education. Nowadays, information technologies create human basic abilities. College English teaching mode reform based on computer multimedia is the aim of the paper. Generally, computer multimedia technologies oriented college English education merging pictures, videos, audio, vocabulary, and animation. We described the development of multimedia in English teaching mode, applications of college English teaching, a novel model of foreign language teaching in the classroom and a computer, computerized English language teaching method TPACK design, and the latest architecture of college English language teaching based on computers in this paper. We are discussing face-to-face teaching, language lab autonomous learning room, network teaching area in multimedia, and network teaching circumstances in this paper. This paper evaluated wireless communication's range, challenges facing college English teaching, comparative analysis of attitude, comparative analysis of curriculum, and comparative analysis of technology. We express that, from the year 2000 to the present, the technologies in wireless communications with computer multimedia are developing in the range of wireless communication.

Abstract:Under the background of continuous innovation and development of computer technology, computer-assisted language teaching has gradually become a new development trend of language teaching. Based on the CNKI database, we read, organize and analyze the literature related to "the application of computer means in international Chinese language education", and according to the relevant results, we find that the computer means in China's international Chinese language education has achieved certain application results, involving multimedia technology, virtual reality technology, the establishment of database and other aspects.

Abstract:Using digital resources is an important development in the Early Childhood Education (ECE) curriculum in China. Guo and Wang (2005) report that 98% of urban ECE programs have computers with Internet connections, in addition to other technical facilities, which are used daily in ECE classrooms. However, the lack of curriculum-related digital resources and of a network to share them makes it difficult for teachers to share these resources for teaching. Further, this development of digital resources for ECE should consider Chinese cultures of learning (Jin & Cortazzi, 2006) in order to meet the needs of Chinese learners and maximize the learning effect. This paper focuses on the major features of digital resources in Chinese ECE and a framework for developing the content through examining existing digital resources and materials. Methods of inquiry and evaluation include the use of focus groups of kindergarten teachers in different provinces in China.The findings (Chen & Zhou, 2009; Zhou & Chen, 2009) indicate that an ECE digital resource should have features of individualization, interaction, sharing and sociability in networking in Chinese educational contexts, for supporting teaching design, practice, evaluation and reflection. An effective framework of ECE digital resources is recommended to contain three key parts:1) A Teacher Planning System to support teachers' information searches, classified according to themes, subjects or types of activities.2) A Children's Learning System to offer interactive learning at school or home following the classroom curriculum.3) A Family Support System to involve parents in their children's learning and development.
Designing an Online Interactive Learning Program to Improve Chinese Migrant Children's Internet Skills

Abstract:The purpose of this chapter is to design and implement an online interactive learning program to improve migrant children's Internet skills. With the help of the Italian Association of Media Education, the authors designed an online program (http://yzj.edulife.eu/j/?lang=en) comprised of five interactive learning modules, including an array of practice activities to support students' development of retrieving, assessing, storing, producing, presenting, and exchanging information. During the 2011 spring semester, 143 fourth and fifth grade students from Minzhu Experimental School were invited to attend the program with the guidance of three ICT educators and two researchers. Pre- and post-tests and interviews examined the effectiveness of the program. Data analysis found that migrant children's Internet self-efficacy and Internet exploratory behavior were significantly improved by attending the program. Based on observed program limitations, suggestions for improvement are proposed in the last section of the chapter.

Abstract:The computer multimedia technology has changed the traditional teaching form, especially providing the special form to the Chinese language and literature teaching. By using multimedia technology, Chinese language and literature can make characters more vivid and three-dimensional, which promotes the improvement of teaching efficiency and effect. Abstract:To find out the present state of research into China's English-Chinese bilingual education,this paper reviews over 90 papers published in various academic journals in China since 2000.The research falls into two categories:theoretical explorations and practice-oriented research.The former centers on discussions of the basic concepts and theoretical issues of bilingual education;comparative studies on bilingual education as practiced in Hongkong,in mainland China,and other countries and regions;and studies on bilingual education from cross-disciplinary perspectives.The latter covers studies in English-Chinese bilingual education as practiced in various types of schools in different parts of China,studies into the key elements of bilingual teaching classrooms,and critiques on China's English-Chinese bilingual education practices.The research has identified two major problems:one is that many research projects share the same research design and lack innovation;the other is their research methods are either monotonous or unscientific and impractical.Therefore,the paper calls for vigorous improvement in future research in this field.

Abstract:The importance of learning English is increasing as China’s foreign exchanges become more frequent. China’s independent colleges have been steadily growing in recent years, with the main school’s main characteristic of cultivating applied talents, and teaching quality gradually improving. College English teaching is a practical application of college English education and instruction. The “sum of beliefs, recognized values, and technologies commonly accepted by the members of a specific community” is the world outlook and mode of behavior that a group of researchers engaged in a particular science adopts. Modern information technology has pervaded people’s work and lives since the dawn of the information age, and it is now widely used in a variety of fields. This paper obtains some information useful to the development of teaching work based on the data mining algorithm used in the mining practice of the educational administration information management system. This paper studies the present situation of English teaching at home and abroad, finds out the advantages and disadvantages of English teaching resources in China through literature retrieval, interview and questionnaire survey. Under the guidance of constructionist teaching theory, humanistic education theory and developmental evaluation theory, this paper analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of English teaching resources in China based on the development characteristics of contemporary college students and the contents of current college English courses. According to the teaching principle of “student-centered, process oriented, communication oriented, people-oriented”, this paper analyzes the advantages and disadvantages of domestic English teaching resources The results show that: from the perspective of the purpose of College English learning, to improve students’ comprehensive ability and quality, the proportion is the highest, accounting for 26%.

Abstract:Based on a questionnaire survey of 180 college students, this study finds that network-based Chinese college English teaching innovation does not achieve its expected goal. It needs not only continual change from teacher-centered to student-centered teaching approach, but improvements of using new social computing tools to enhance students' English learning cooperatively and collaboratively. Finally, some suggestions are presented to promote network-based college English teaching in China in a better and faster way.

Abstract:The purpose of this paper is to study the current situation and existing problems of English teaching in China's compulsory education stage, and to propose corresponding countermeasures. By analysing the current syllabus, curriculum, teaching objectives and contents, teaching methods and means, teaching evaluation and feedback, this paper finds that there are problems such as insufficient students’ interest in learning, teachers’ professional qualities and teaching abilities need to be improved, uneven distribution of educational resources, and high social and parental expectations of English education. Aiming at these problems, this paper puts forward countermeasure suggestions such as optimising curriculum and teaching content, improving teaching methods and means, improving teacher training and quality enhancement, strengthening the integration and distribution of educational resources, and adjusting social and parental expectations of education. It is hoped that the research in this paper can provide certain reference and learnings for the reform of English education in China’s compulsory education stage.
