Design and implementation of model and WebGIS-based digital farming support system

Abstract:By studying the mechanism and method on how to integrate the GIS technology with the digital farming models based on the user requirement of system and the characters of existing farming models,the technology of XML(extensible markup language)and custom map engine was proposed and the rational framework of system architecture was also designed in this paper.Using the technology of software component,with Browser/Server mode as distributive network structure and WebGIS as spatial information management platform,a model and WebGIS-based digital farming support system(MGDFSS)was developed.The system realized the functions as basic map handling,agricultural spatial information management,crop ecological zoning,cropping system design,cultivation decision,growth simulation,strategy analysis,growth monitoring and regulation,productivity estimation,precision crop management,expert consultation,and system maintenance.The construction and application of the MGDFSS can advance the digital expression and quantitative management of the crop production processes and accelerate the development of digital farming.
