Abstract:By using the usual additive neural-network model, a delay-independent stability criterion for neural dynamics with perturbations of time-varying delays is derived. We extend previously known results obtained by Gopalsamy and He to the time varying delay case, and present decay estimates of solutions of neural networks. The asymptotic stability is global in the state space of neuronal activations. From the techniques used in this paper, it is shown that our criterion ensures stability of neural dynamics even when the delay functions vary violently with time. Our approach provides an effective method for the stability analysis of neural dynamics with delays.

Abstract:This paper addresses the problem of asymptotic stability for discrete-time recurrent neural networks with time-varying delay. The analysis starts with a general assumption that the time-varying delay may be expressed as the lower bound plus the length of an interval over which the delay varies. Then the delay partitioning technique is used to establish a new delay-dependent sufficient condition under which the asymptotic stability of recurrent neural networks with time-varying delay can be guaranteed. The new stability criterion takes the form of linear matrix inequalities, thus lending itself to being readily checkable by the available software package. The obtained theoretical result is further illustrated by numerical results, including their superiority over the existing results on asymptotic stability of delayed recurrent neural networks.

Abstract:This brief investigates the problem of global exponential stability analysis for discrete recurrent neural networks with time-varying delays. In terms of linear matrix inequality (LMI) approach, a novel delay-dependent stability criterion is established for the considered recurrent neural networks via a new Lyapunov function. The obtained condition has less conservativeness and less number of variables than the existing ones. Numerical example is given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Abstract:This paper is concerned with the problem of robust exponential stability analysis for uncertain discrete recurrent neural networks with time-varying delays. In terms of linear matrix inequality (LMI) approach, some novel stability conditions are proposed via a new Lyapunov function. Neither any model transformation nor free-weighting matrices are employed in our theoretical derivation. The established stability criteria significantly improve and simplify some existing stability conditions. Numerical examples are given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed methods.

Abstract:In this paper, we focus on the stability problem for discrete-time switched neural networks with time-varying delay resorting to the average dwell time method. In terms of linear matrix inequality approach, a delay-dependent sufficient condition of exponential stability is developed for a kind of switching signal with average dwell time. Abstract:This paper addresses the problem of the stability of discrete-time recurrent neural networks (RNNs) with time-varying delays. By used some novel analysis techniques, stability theory and new Lyapunov-Krasovskii function, a linear matrix inequality (LMI) is developed to establish sufficient conditions for the RNNs to be globally asymptotically stable. Decomposing the delay interval approach is also employed in this paper, and the Lyapunov-Krasovskii functionals (LKFs) are constructed on these intervals, such that a new stability criterion is proposed in terms of Linear Matrix Inequalities (LMIs). A numerical example is given to demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method and the applicability of the proposed method.

By taking advantage of the average dwell time method, two sufficient conditions are developed to ensure the global exponential stability of the considered neural networks, which are delay-dependent and formulated by LMIs. Abstract:The problem of stability analysis of static recurrent neural networks with interval time-varying delay is investigated in this paper. A new Lyapunov functional which contains some new double integral and triple integral terms are introduced. Information about the lower bound of the delay is fully used in the Lyapunov functional. Integral and double integral terms in the derivative of the Lyapunov functional are divided into some parts to get less conservative results. Some sufficient stability conditions are obtained in terms of linear matrix inequality (LMI). Numerical examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed method.

Abstract:The standard neural network model(SNNM) was used to provide a unified framework for the stability analysis of various recurrent neural networks(RNN).By applying the Lyapunov stability theory and S-procedure technique,some sufficient stability conditions were derived for the global robust asymptotic and exponential stability of delayed SNNM with the form of linear matrix inequalities.The condition for robust exponential stability was formulated as a generalized eigenvalued problem,which established an estimation of the exponential convergence rate and improved the previous results.In the given examples,other RNNs were transformed into SNNM to be analyzed in a unified way.Simulation showed the effectiveness of the presented method and the validity of the sufficient conditions.

Abstract:The stability of neural networks is a prerequisite for successful applications of the networks as either associative memories or optimization solvers. Because the integration and communication delays are ubiquitous, the stability of neural networks with delays has received extensive attention. However, the approach used in the previous investigation is mainly based on Liapunov's direct method. Since the construction of Liapunov function is very skilful, there is little compatibility among the existing results. In this paper, we develop a new approach to stability analysis of Hopfield-type neural networks with time-varying delays by defining two novel quantities of nonlinear function similar to the matrix norm and the matrix measure, respectively. With the new approach, we present sufficient conditions of the stability, which are either the generalization of those existing or new. The developed approach may be also applied for any general system with time delays rather than Hopfield-type neural networks.

Abstract:This Letter investigates the problem of exponential stability for discrete stochastic time-delay neural networks. By defining a novel Lyapunov functional, an improved delay-dependent exponential stability criterion is established in terms of linear matrix inequality (LMI) approach. Abstract:This paper considers the problem of global stability of neural networks with delays. By combining Lie algebra and the Lyapunov function with the integral inequality technique, we analyze the globally asymptotic stability of a class of recurrent neural networks with delays and give an estimate of the exponential stability. A few new sufficient conditions and criteria are proposed to ensure globally asymptotic stability of the equilibrium point of the neural networks. A few simulation examples are presented to demonstrate the effectiveness of the results and to improve feasibility.

Abstract:This article concerns the stability issues of neural networks with time-varying delays. The purpose is to establish less conservative stability conditions for delayed neural networks. In order to achieve this goal, a time-varying Lyapunov functional method is proposed for stability analysis of delayed neural networks. The main feature of this method is to construct different Lyapunov functionals in different time-varying delay subintervals, which relaxes the restriction requirement of traditional Lyapunov functionals constructing a common Lyapunov functional in the whole delay interval. Based on the developed time-varying Lyapunov functional, some new stability conditions for delayed neural networks are obtained. Finally, two examples are given to verify the effectiveness of the derived stability conditions.
