Abstract:In this paper a method of impulsive control bifurcation in a nonlinear system is presented. Some sufficient conditions for the asymptotically stable of a general nonlinear system via impulsive control were derived. Numerical simulations show the method is effective.

Abstract:In this paper, the problem of Hopf bifurcation control for a network model with time delays is studied. When the value of delay passes through a critical value, Hopf bifurcation will occur and the system will lose its stability. To control the Hopf bifurcation, a impulsive controller is proposed. This controller can effectively control the amplitude of the bifurcated limit cycle. Numerical results have been presented to verify the theoretical results.

Abstract:In this paper,the complex dynamical behavior of linear Hamiltonian impulsive system is discussed by using discrete map,center manifold theorem and bifurcation theorem.The existence and stability of the positive period solution of this system are investigated.The condition of occurrence for filp bifurcation is derived.A linear impulsive controller is proposed to control the dynamical behavior of system.The numerical results for bifurcation and bifurcation control,which are illustrated with two examples,are in good agreement with the theoretical analysis.

Abstract:In this paper, the dynamical behavior of a linear Hamiltonian system under two kinds of impulsive control is discussed by means of both theoretical and numerical ways. The existence and stability of the periodic solution are investigated. Moreover, the conditions of existence for a Neimark–Sacker bifurcation are derived by using a discrete map. Numerical results for phase portraits, periodic solutions, and bifurcation diagrams are in good agreement with the theoretical analysis.

Abstract:We propose an impulsive hybrid control method to control the period-doubling bifurcations and stabilize unstable periodic orbits embedded in a chaotic attractor of a small-world network. Simulation results show that the bifurcations can be delayed or completely eliminated. A periodic orbit of the system can be controlled to any desired periodic orbit by using this method.

Abstract:Bifurcation control and the existence of chaos in a class of linear impulsive systems are discussed by means of both theoretical and numerical ways. Chaotic behaviour in the sense of Marotto's definition is rigorously proven. A linear impulsive controller, which does not result in any change in one period-1 solution of the original system, is proposed to control and anti-control chaos. The numerical results for chaotic attractor, route leading to chaos, chaos control, and chaos anti-control, which are illustrated with two examples, are in good agreement with the theoretical analysis.

Abstract:The issue of impulsive stabilization and Hopf bifurcation of a new three-dimensional chaotic system is investigated. This paper derives some sufficient conditions for the stabilization of the system via impulsive control with varying impulsive intervals. By choosing an appropriate bifurcation parameter, we prove that a chaotic system undergoes Hopf bifurcation under certain conditions. Some numerical examples are given to support the analytic results.

Abstract:In order to excite experimentalists to apply a dynamical control method [Zhao et al., Phys. Rev. E 53, 299 (1996); 57, 5358 (1998)], we further introduce a simplified control law in this paper. The law provides a convenient way (in certain circumstance a necessary way) for experimentalists to achieve the system control when the exact position of the desired control objective cannot be known in advance. The validity of the control law is rigidly verified when the system nears a bifurcation point but our numerical examples show that it can be extended to a wide parameter region practically.

Abstract:In this paper, a control method developed earlier is employed to consider controlling bifurcations in a class of Lorenz-like systems. Particular attention is focused on Hopf bifurcation control via linear and nonlinear stability analyses. The Lorenz system, Chen system and Lu system are studied in detail. Simple feedback controls are designed for controlling the stability of equilibrium solutions, limit cycles and chaotic motions. All formulas are derived in general forms including the system parameters. Computer simulation results are presented to confirm the analytical predictions.

Abstract:In this paper the bifurcation behavior of a TCP fluid model of Internet congestion control system is investigated. The parameter condition that the Hopf bifurcation occurs is deduced. The sufficient condition under which an impulsive system is asymptotically stable is present. An impulsive controller is proposed for controlling bifurcation in this system. Simulation results demonstrate that the complex behavior of the system can be controlled by our method.

Abstract:Bifurcation control has attracted increasing attention in recent years. A simple and unified state-feedback methodology is developed in this paper for Hopf bifurcation control for discrete-time systems. The control task can be either shifting an existing Hopf bifurcation or creating a new Hopf bifurcation. Some computer simulations are included to illustrate the methodology and to verify the theoretical results.

Abstract:In this paper, the dynamical behaviour of a linear impulsive system is discussed both theoretically and numerically. The existence and the stability of period-one solution are discussed by using a discrete map. The conditions of existence for flip bifurcation are derived by using the centre manifold theorem and bifurcation theorem. The bifurcation analysis shows that chaotic solutions appear via a cascade of period-doubling in some interval of parameters. Moreover, the periodic solutions, the bifurcation diagram, and the chaotic attractor, which show their consistence with the theoretical analyses, are given in an example.

Abstract:We consider impulsive control of a periodically forced pendulum system which has rich chaos and bifurcation phenomena. A new impulsive control method for chaos suppression of this pendulum system is developed. Some simple sufficient conditions for driving the chaotic state to its zero equilibrium are presented, and some criteria for eventually, exponentially asymptotical stability are established. This work provides a rigorous theoretical analysis to support some early experimental observations on controlling chaos in the periodically forced pendulum system.

Abstract:The impulsive control for ordinary differential systems is investigated.It is obtained that the solution is impulsive controllable bounded and impulsive controllable attractive under the assumptions that the solution exists and is unique,and F(t,X) is continuous.On the other hand,if F(t,X) is weak Lipschitzian,then the solution is impulsive controllable stabilization,impulsive controllable asymptotical stabilization and exponential stabilization.Two examples are given to illustrate the application of the results.

Abstract:In this paper,impulsive control for a class of linear time-invariant switched systems is discussed.An effective impulsive control method for stabilizing such systems is developed by means of using Lyapunov function.First of all,some sufficient conditions for stability and asymptotical stability of such systems with arbitrary switching law are established.Then,with a given switching law,the sufficient conditions for exponential stability of such systems are derived.Finally,a simulation example is also given to illustrate the correctness of our conclusions presented.

Abstract:In this paper, the dynamical behavior of a Hamiltonian system under impulsive control is discussed by both theoretical and numerical analyses. The existence and stability of its period-one and period-three solutions are obtained in virtue of a discrete map. The conditions of existence for flip bifurcation and Hopf bifurcation are further derived by using center manifold theorem and bifurcation theory. Three attracting invariant closed curves, surrounding three fixed points respectively, are investigated. Moreover, chaos in the sense of Marotto is rigorously proven. Finally, some detailed numerical results including periodic solutions, bifurcation diagrams, and chaotic attractors, are illustrated by examples, which are in good agreement with the theoretical analysis.
On impulsive control for T-S fuzzy systems

Abstract:Recently, fuzzy control of nonlinear dynamical systems has attracted increasing attention because of the applicability in the presence of nonlinearity and uncertainty. A simple but effective fuzzy model is the so-called Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy model, which has seen wide application to system synthesis and control. In this paper, an impulsive control scheme for T-S fuzzy systems is introduced. The proposed impulsive control scheme appears to have a simple control structure and may need less control energy than typical continuous controls for T-S fuzzy systems. Sufficient conditions for the impulsive control of T-S fuzzy systems are derived. The method is applicable to a general class of nonlinear systems modeled by T-S fuzzy model. For illustration, the impulsive control approach is applied to the control and synchronization of Lorenz chaotic system. Analysis and simulation results demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed control method. © 2005 SICE.

Abstract:The dynamics of a class of impulsive dynamic systems with impulsive state feedback control was studied. A Poincare map was constructed to discuss the bifurcation of periodic solution,and the sufficient conditions for the existence and stability of semi-trivial periodic solution and positive period-1 solution were obtained. The qualitative analysis and numerical results show that a positive period-1 solution bifurcates from the semi-trivial periodic solution through a fold bifurcation, a positive period-2 solution bifurcates from the positive period-1 solution through a flip bifurcation, and the chaotic solution is generated via a cascade of flip bifurcations. The superiority of the state feedback control strategy was also discussed.

Abstract:This paper studies the asymptotic stability for a class of non-instantaneous impulsive systems and Takagi-Sugeno (T-S) fuzzy non-instantaneous impulsive control for linear and nonlinear systems. First, a class of concrete comparison system for a more accurate and universal nonlinear non-instantaneous impulsive model is constructed. Then, the less conservative sufficient conditions of Lyapunov asymptotic stability are studied by impulsive differential inequalities and generalized comparison principle. On the other hand, an improved non-instantaneous impulsive control scheme with T-S fuzzy model is also presented for the asymptotic stability of the nonlinear systems. Finally, simulation results on controlling a linear and a nonlinear system are presented to illustrate the rationality and effectiveness of the obtained results.
