Abstract:With the development of advance manufacture applications, enterprise must interact with their suppliers and customers to share more product data information. Consequently, copyright and integrity protection over product data is becoming an urgent requirement. Product data information consists of two parts: product structure and part content, besides protecting the three-dimensional (3D) model of part by watermarking, we also need to protect product structure information, which describes the relations among product parts and can be represented as a tree. In this paper, based on the 3D polygonal meshes watermark technology, the structure/semi-structure data watermark technologies and the idea of Fractal, we propose a novel watermark scheme for tree-structure product data with the value lying both in product structure and in part node content, which gives a more comprehensive and resilient right protection for both part node content and product structure. Abstract:At present, mobile terminals haven't any function of rights management, and cryptology-based method can't resolve all the copyright problems in mobile digital distribution service. With the urge demand of digital rights management in digital distribution service, a scheme based on watermark technique(WDRM) is proposed in this paper. It doesn't need the cooperation from mobile terminals. In the paper we mainly discuss the scheme theory, architecture, service process, algorithms choice and performance. In the end, the compare between WDRM and cryptology-based OMADRM is given. Analysis shows that the scheme is feasible and secure.

Abstract:Query authentication in outsourced database refers to the client users' verifying the authenticity of data resource,correctness of query operation and consistency of query results in outsourced database.In this paper,a query-verifying scheme of outsourced database based on fragile watermark was proposed.In the scheme,the randomized ordered binary pairs,which were generated by chaotic equation,was utilized as the watermark signal and control signal for watermark embedding,the watermark was embedded into numeric data in the database by changing the parity of their low order digits under the control of the secret key,and the query was verified by detecting the watermarks in the query result set.The scheme has little redundant storage size and low flow load of network,and the tamper with the database can be located at fine grain.

Abstract:Database watermarking can be used for copyright verification and leakage traceability, effectively protecting the security of the database. However, the existing watermarking schemes commonly embed watermarks by modifying the original data, which changes the statistical characteristics and affects the statistical analysis of the database. Therefore, this paper proposes SCPW, a S tatistical C haracteristics P reserving robust database W atermarking framework. First, we perform a theoretical analysis and propose a data modification scheme maintaining the statistical characteristics unchanged. Then, we establish the correspondence between the data and the watermarks that need to be embedded in it by grouping. Finally, the watermark message is embedded into the database through data verification and modification. Specifically, for data that needs to be watermarked, we first verify whether the potential watermark bits extracted from the data are the same as bits that need to be embedded. If they are the same, we regard this original data, usually a floating point number, as a “good number” and do not modify it. Otherwise, we modify the data until it becomes a “good number” using a data modification scheme that preserves the statistical characteristics proposed by the theoretical analysis. In addition, we also use the genetic algorithm to optimize the grouping results and increase the proportion of “good number”, thereby reducing the proportion of data that needs to be modified and further reducing distortion. To our best knowledge, SCPW is the first watermarking scheme that ensures the preservation of statistical characteristics, and the experimental results also prove its excellent ability to preserve statistical characteristics compared to existing schemes. Moreover, experiments also illustrate that our method is robust against a wide range of attacks. When under deletion attack (deletion rate = 90%), the bit error rate of watermark extraction is only 0.8%, which is more than 12% lower than the current best method.

Abstract:Digital multimedia watermarking technology was suggested in the last decade to embed copyright information in digital objects such images, audio and video. However, the increasing use of relational database systems in many real-life applications created an ever increasing need for watermarking database systems. As a result, watermarking relational database systems is now merging as a research area that deals with the legal issue of copyright protection of database systems. Approach: In this study, we proposed an efficient database watermarking algorithm based on inserting binary image watermarks in non-numeric mutli-word attributes of selected database tuples. Results: The algorithm is robust as it resists attempts to remove or degrade the embedded watermark and it is blind as it does not require the original database in order to extract the embedded watermark. Conclusion: Experimental results demonstrated blindness and the robustness of the algorithm against common database attacks.

Abstract:Relational databases are widely applied in various industries, such as government departments, medical institutions and enterprises, for data storage and relationship management. It is convenience to data maintenance, however, the data in it maybe vulnerable to be forged or tampered with. Therefore, protecting the copyright of relational databases is a critical issue. Fortunately, watermarking technology can be used to prove copyright ownership. Since the digital watermarking technology can solve this problem effectively, based on semantic, we propose two watermarking approaches with high security and strong robustness for numeric and non-numeric data of relational databases in this paper. On the one hand, we propose a reversible numeric watermarking approach. It performs the replacement operation at the semantic level and retain the statistical characteristics of the data. On the other hand, based on word segmentation and word embedding, the non-numerical attributes of the relational database with natural language are chosen to embed watermark. It is noteworthy that the proposed mechanism can be applied to both Chinese and English with minimum distortion. Additionally, we also propose the virtual splitting of attribute column and the principle of modification minimum to guarantee the capacity of watermark and reduce the data modification rate. Additionally, the BCH (31,16,7) error control code is added to the binary watermark string to improve the detection rate of watermark. Based on the above innovations, the security of watermarking algorithm is improved successfully by double encryption (chaos encryption and hash encryption) with two keys (the user's private key and the attribute column key). The simulation results demonstrate that the proposed two algorithms in this paper have stronger robustness on defensing malicious attacks than previous works.

Abstract:In many fields, such as medicine and the computer industry, databases are vital in the process of information sharing. However, databases face the risk of being stolen or misused, leading to security threats such as copyright disputes and privacy breaches. Reversible watermarking techniques ensure the ownership of shared relational databases, protect the rights of data owners and enable the recovery of original data. However, most of the methods modify the original data to a large extent and cannot achieve a good balance between protection against malicious attacks and data recovery. In this paper, we proposed a robust and reversible database watermarking technique using a hash function to group digital relational databases, setting the data distortion and watermarking capacity of the band weight function, adjusting the weight of the function to determine the watermarking capacity and the level of data distortion, using firefly algorithms (FA) and simulated annealing algorithms (SA) to improve the efficiency of the search for the location of the watermark embedded and, finally, using the differential expansion of the way to embed the watermark. The experimental results prove that the method maintains the data quality and has good robustness against malicious attacks.

Abstract:In the outsourced database model,organizations outsource their data management needs to an external service provider.The service provider offers mechanisms to create,store,update and query the database for the organizations.Since a server is almost never fully trusted,this model introduces several research issues related to data security.This paper discusses the classification of database security system,studies the architecture of outsourced database,overviews the state-of-the-art in database encryption,query policy of encrypted database,privacy protection,data integrity verification,and database copyright protection based on database watermarking,introduces the latest progress in security mechanisms of outsourced database,and looks ahead its future development.A conclusion is drawn at the end of this paper that it is critical to integrate various security mechanisms and trade off the security and the availability to build an outsourced database.

Abstract:A scheme for watermarking relational database is proposed in this paper. It is applied to protect the copyright of numeric data. The chaos binary sequences are generated under the control of the privacy key, and are utilized as the watermark signal and the control signal for watermark embedding. Both the privacy key and the primary key determine the watermarking position, and the watermark is embedded into the numeric data by changing the parity of their low order digits, thus avoids the syndrome phenomena caused by the usual Least Significant Bit (LSB) watermarking scheme. The embedment of the watermark meets the requirement of the synchronous dynamic updating for the database, and the detection of the watermark needs no original database. Both the theoretical analysis and the practical experiments prove that this scheme possesses fine efficiency, imperceptibility and security, and it is robust against common attacks towards the watermark.

Abstract:Cloud Computing has emerged as a resource sharing platform, which allows different service providers to deliver software as services. However, for many security sensitive applications such as critical data processing and e-business, we must provide necessary security protection for mitigating the threats in the shared open cloud infrastructures. In this paper, we propose a software watermark enhanced platform to assure that only the software with authorized watermark is allowed to run on the platform. Abstract:The watermarking technique can be used to protect the copyright of relational databases by hiding the ownership information into the relational databases. Difference expansion (DE) technique is one of the common reversible watermarking techniques for numerical relational databases. However, most previous schemes based on DE suffer the problem of low embedding capacity when the difference values between different attributes are relatively large. In this paper, we propose a novel reversible watermarking scheme to solve the above problem. In the scheme, a mapping difference expansion (MDE) method is proposed to convert the differences between attributes to small mapping differences. Based on the MDE, an attribute and tuple selection algorithm is designed to select the suitable data for watermarking, which can increase embedding capacity and reduce distortion. In addition, the majority voting technique is utilized to enhance the robustness of watermarking with the high embedding capacity. The experimental results have shown that the proposed scheme can provide higher embedding capacity, lower distortion and stronger robustness than other schemes.

Abstract:For digital copyright protection and traceability, many text watermarking algorithms have been proposed. However, the vast majority of them have one or more the following disadvantages: Insufficient embedded capacity, poor robustness, and large embedded noise affecting the expression of normal documents. To solve the above problems, this paper proposes a text watermarking scheme based on hidden objects. It solves problem from the level of programming objects in office and hides these objects that can record information, so as to realize the information hiding of the text. Compared with the existing methods, our proposed solution obtains higher robustness results against most of the extremely dangerous attacks, and at the same time possesses the faster embedded speed and the greater embedded capacity.
Unveiling the Achilles' Heel: Backdoor Watermarking Forgery Attack in Public Dataset Protection

Abstract:High-quality datasets can greatly promote the development of technology. However, dataset construction is expensive and time-consuming, and public datasets are easily exploited by opportunists who are greedy for quick gains, which seriously infringes the rights and interests of dataset owners. At present, backdoor watermarks redefine dataset protection as proof of ownership and become a popular method to protect the copyright of public datasets, which effectively safeguards the rights of owners and promotes the development of open source communities. In this paper, we question the reliability of backdoor watermarks and re-examine them from the perspective of attackers. On the one hand, we refine the process of backdoor watermarks by introducing a third-party judicial agency to enhance its practical applicability in real-world scenarios. On the other hand, by exploring the problem of forgery attacks, we reveal the inherent flaws of the dataset ownership verification process. Specifically, we design a Forgery Watermark Generator (FW-Gen) to generate forged watermarks and define a distillation loss between the original watermark and the forged watermark to transfer the information in the original watermark to the forged watermark. Extensive experiments show that forged watermarks have the same statistical significance as original watermarks in copyright verification tests under various conditions and scenarios, indicating that dataset ownership verification results are insufficient to determine infringement. These findings highlight the unreliability of backdoor watermarking methods for dataset ownership verification and suggest new directions for enhancing methods for protecting public datasets.

Abstract:Database watermarking is typically employed to address the issues of data theft, illegal replication, and copyright infringement that may arise during the sharing of databases. Unfortunately, the existing methods often cause permanent distortion to the original data, and it is challenging to strike a balance between the watermark embedding capacity and data distortion. Therefore, this paper proposes a reversible database watermarking method based on histogram shifting, rhombus prediction, and double embedding with high capacity and low distortion, called RPDE-HSW. By utilizing the rhombus prediction, we respectively constructed two prediction error histograms in each subgroup and expanded the watermark capacity through the adoption of double-layer embedding and singlebin embedding 2 bits. A scrambling algorithm is used to make the attribute value distribution more discretized, resulting in a sparse distribution of the database histogram. Subsequently, we optimized the selection rules for the watermark embedding carrier, effectively eliminating the redundant distortion caused by histogram shifting. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed method achieves smaller data distortion and higher watermark embedding capacity, outperforming some other state-of-the-art works, and does not affect the classification results and data mining.
