Abstract:Let k , s and n be three integers with s ≥ k ≥2, n ≥2 k +1. Let G =( V 1 , V 2 ; E ) be a bipartite graph with | V 1 |=| V 2 |= n . If the minimum degree of G is at least s +1, then G contains k vertex-disjoint cycles covering at least min(2 n ,4 s ) vertices of G .

Abstract:The circumference of a graph is the length of a longest cycle of it. We determine the maximum number of copies of $K_{r,s}$, the complete bipartite graph with classes sizes $r$ and $s$, in 2-connected graphs with circumference less than $k$. As corollaries of our main result, we determine the maximum number of copies of $K_{r,s}$ in $n$-vertex $P_{k}$-free and $M_k$-free graphs for all values of $n$, where $P_k$ is a path on $k$ vertices and $M_k$ is a matching on $k$ edges.

Abstract:It is conjectured that every edge-colored complete graph G on n vertices satisfying Delta mon(G)<= n-3k+1 contains k vertex-disjoint properly edge-colored cycles. We confirm this conjecture for k=2, prove several additional weaker results for general k, and we establish structural properties of possible minimum counterexamples to the conjecture. We also reveal a close relationship between properly edge-colored cycles in edge-colored complete graphs and directed cycles in multipartite tournaments. Using this relationship and our results on edge-colored complete graphs, we obtain several partial solutions to a conjecture on disjoint cycles in directed graphs due to Bermond and Thomassen.

Abstract:For a graph G, let @s@?"k"+"3(G)=min{d(x"1)+d(x"2)+...+d(x"k"+"3)-|N(x"1)@?N(x"2)@?...@?N(x"k"+"3)||x"1,x"2,...,x"k"+"3 are k+3 independent vertices in G}. In [H. Li, On cycles in 3-connected graphs, Graphs Combin. 16 (2000) 319-335], H. Li proved that if G is a 3-connected graph of order n and @s@?"4(G)=n+3, then G has a maximum cycle such that each component of G-C has at most one vertex. In this paper, we extend this result as follows. Let G be a (k+2)-connected graph of order n. If @s@?"k"+"3(G)=n+k(k+2), G has a cycle C such that each component of G-C has at most k vertices. Moreover, the lower bound is sharp.

We completely determine the d when k = 2. We propose a conjecture for those k-connected graph, where k ≥ 3.

Abstract:Given a graph T and a family of graphs ℱ, the maximum number of copies of T in an ℱ-free graph on n vertices is called the generalized Turán number, denoted by ex(n, T , ℱ). When T= K_2, it reduces to the classical Turán number ex(n, ℱ). Let ex_bip(b,n, T , ℱ) be the maximum number of copies of T in an ℱ-free bipartite graph with two parts of sizes b and n, respectively. Let P_k be the path on k vertices, 𝒞_≥ k be the family of all cycles with length at least k and M_k be a matching with k edges. In this article, we determine ex_bip(b,n, K_s,t, 𝒞_≥ 2n-2k) exactly in a connected bipartite graph G with minimum degree δ(G) ≥ r≥ 1, for b≥ n≥ 2k+2r and k∈ℤ, which generalizes a theorem of Moon and Moser, a theorem of Jackson and gives an affirmative evidence supporting a conjecture of Adamus and Adamus. As corollaries of our main result, we determine ex_bip(b,n, K_s,t, P_2n-2k) and ex_bip(b,n, K_s,t, M_n-k) exactly in a connected bipartite graph G with minimum degree δ(G) ≥ r≥ 1, which generalizes a theorem of Wang. Moreover, we determine ex(n, K_s,t, 𝒞_≥ k) and ex(n, K_s,t, P_k) respectively in a connected graph G with minimum degree δ(G) ≥ r≥ 1, which generalizes a theorem of Lu, Yuan and Zhang.

Abstract:Let G be a k -connected graph with k≥ 2 . In this paper we first prove that: For two distinct vertices x and z in G , it contains a path connecting x and z which passes through its any k-2 specified vertices with length at least the average degree of the vertices other than x and z . Further, with this result, we prove that: If G has n vertices and m edges, then it contains a cycle of length at least 2m/(n-1) passing through its any k-1 specified vertices. Our results generalize a theorem of Fan on the existence of long paths and a classical theorem of Erdős and Gallai on the existence of long cycles under the average degree condition.

Abstract:We consider the minimum degree stability of graphs forbidding odd cycles: What is the tight bound on the minimum degree to guarantee that the structure of a C 2 k + 1 ‐free graph inherits from the extremal graph (a balanced complete bipartite graph)? Andrásfai, Erdős, and Sós showed that if a { C 3 , C 5 , ... , C 2 k + 1 } ‐free graph on n vertices has minimum degree greater than 2 2 k + 3 n , then it is bipartite. Häggkvist showed that for k ∈ { 1 , 2 , 3 , 4 } , if a C 2 k + 1 ‐free graph on n vertices has minimum degree greater than 2 2 k + 3 n , then it is bipartite. Häggkvist also pointed out that this result cannot be extended to k ≥ 5 . In this paper, we give a complete answer for any k ≥ 5 . We show that if k ≥ 5 and G is an n ‐vertex C 2 k + 1 ‐free graph with δ ( G ) ≥ n 6 + 1 , then G is bipartite, and the bound n 6 + 1 is tight.

Abstract:A cycle in an edge-colored graph is called properly colored if all of its adjacent edges have distinct colors. Let Knc be an edge-colored complete graph with n vertices and let k be a positive integer. Denote by Δmon(Knc) the maximum number of edges of the same color incident with a vertex of Knc. In this paper, we show that (i) if Δmon(Knc)⩽n−2k, then Knc contains k properly colored cycles of different lengths and the bound is sharp; (ii) if Δmon(Knc)⩽n−2k+1−2k+4, then Knc contains k vertex-disjoint properly colored cycles of different lengths; in particular, Δmon(Knc)⩽n−6 suffices for the existence of two vertex-disjoint properly colored cycles of different lengths.

The weighted degree of a vertex is the sum of the weights of the edges incident with it. In this paper, we prove that: Let G be a k-connected weighted graph where k⩾2. The k-wide diameter of graph G, dk(G), is the minimum integer ι such that for any two distinct vertices x, y ∈ V(G), there are k (internally) disjoint paths with lengths at most l between x and y. Let C(n, t) be the resulting graph by adding t edges to cycle Cn. Define h(n,t) =- min{d2(C(n,t))}. Abstract:Let K-n,K-n denote the complete bipartite graph with n vertices in each bipartition set and K-n,K-n - I denote K-n,K-n with a 1-factor removed. An m-cycle system of K-n,K-n - I is a collection T of m-cycles such that each edge of K-n,K-n - I is contained in a unique m-cycle of T. In this paper, it is proved that the necessary and sufficient conditions for the existence of an m-cycle system of K-n,K-n - I are n equivalent to 1 (mod 2), m equivalent to 0 (mod 2), 4 <= m <= 2n, and n(n - 1) equivalent to 0 (mod m).

Abstract:Bermond and Thomassen conjectured in 1981 that every digraph with minimum outdegree at least $2k-1$ contains $k$ vertex-disjoint cycles,here $k$ is a positive integer. Lichiardopol conjectured in 2014 that for every positive integer $k$ there exists an integer $g(k)$ such that every digraph with minimum outdegree at least $g(k)$ contains $k$ vertex-disjoint cycles of different lengths. Recently, Chen and Chang proved in [J. Graph Theory 105 (2) (2024) 297-314] that for $k\geqslant 3$ every tournament with minimum outdegree at least $2k-1$ contains $k$ vertex-disjoint cycles in which two of them have different lengths. Motivated by the above two conjectures and related results, we investigate vertex-disjoint cycles of different lengths in tournaments, and show that when $k\geqslant 5$ every tournament with minimum outdegree at least $2k-1$ contains $k$ vertex-disjoint cycles in which three of them have different lengths. In addition, we show that every tournament with minimum outdegree at least $6$ contains three vertex-disjoint cycles of different lengths and the minimum outdegree condition is sharp. This answers a question proposed by Chen and Chang.
