Abstract:The problem of solving fuzzy relation equations (II) based on Boolean-type implications is studied in the present paper. Decomposition of fuzzy relation equations (II) based on Boolean-type implications is first presented in a finite case. Then, the solution existence of fuzzy relation equations (II) based on Boolean-type implications is discussed, and for nice Boolean-type implications, some new solvability criteria based upon the notion of ”solution matrices” are given. It is also shown that for each solution a of a fuzzy relation equation (II) based on Boolean-type implication, there exists a minimal solution a* of this equation, such that a* is less than or equal to a, whenever the solution set of this equation is nonempty. The complete solution set of fuzzy relation equation (II) based on Boolean-type implication can be determined by all minimal solutions of this equation. Finally, an effective method to solve fuzzy relation equations (II) based on Boolean-type implications is proposed.

Abstract:The idea of a fuzzy functional equation of the type Y = f(X1, X2,…, Xn, A1, A2,…, As) (where X1, X2,…, Xn, A1, A2,…, As are treated as fuzzy numbers) and the methods of its resolution are dealt with. It is shown that in the case of existence of A1, A2,…, As, satisfying the equation given above, the resolution problem is equivalent to the resolution of fuzzy relational equation of the type Y=A1∘A2∘⋯∘As∘R The idea of fuzzy functional equations generated by fuzzy relation is presented and the algorithm using the notion of probabilistic sets and leading to the resolution of fuzzy functional equations in the case of “noises” is given as well. Some numerical examples form an illustration of presented algorithms, pointing out there, the most characteristic features.

Abstract:This paper contains some theoretical results on fuzzy-relation equations and applications to analysis of fuzzy systems as well as identification and control problems. If Ai, 1 ⩽ i ⩽ k, are fuzzy inputs, B is a fuzzy output, and R is a fuzzy relation describing the system, the above problems are illustrated by means of a max-min multidimensional equation of type B = A1 … Ak R. Furthermore, we investigate some properties of fuzzy systems described by fuzzy-relation equations, focusing our attention on energy and entropy measures of fuzziness of solutions of the class of equations under discussion.

Abstract:Many authors discussed the interpolation mechanism of fuzzy logic system applied in control. The input and output of fuzzy control system are always restrained in (fuzzy) numbers-associated with fuzzification and defuzzification procedure. In artificial intelligence area we need use common fuzzy sets to represent vague and fuzzy concept. In this paper, we propose a "local relation mapping" theory, which is a corresponding result of interpolation mechanism of fuzzy logical system without fuzzification and defuzzification. This local relation mapping property holds in Mamdani algorithm (Max-Min fuzzy reasoning model). We find that each CRI fuzzy reasoning method based on the multi-valued logic implication operator has an approximate Mamdani algorithm. The fuzzy relation matrix of CRI fuzzy inference method based on the multivalued logic implication operator has an enveloping surface of Mamdani algorithm. So most CRI fuzzy reasoning methods have local relation mapping property approximately

Abstract:This work studies the problem of solving a sup-T composite finite fuzzy relation equation, where T is an infinitely distributive strong pseudo-t-norm. A criterion for the equation to have a solution is given. It is proved that if the equation is solvable then its solution set is determined by the greatest solution and a finite number of minimal solutions. A necessary and sufficient condition for the equation to have a unique solution is obtained. Also an algorithm for finding the solution set of the equation is presented.

Abstract:Fuzzy relation equations play an important role in fuzzy set theory. Interval-valued fuzzy set theory is an extension of fuzzy theory in which a closed subinterval of the unit interval is assigned with membership degree. Therefore, it is very significant to study interval-valued fuzzy relation equations from both the theoretical and practical viewpoints. In this paper, the solution sets of interval-valued fuzzy relation equations with inf-- composition is investigated, where - is interval-valued R-, S- or QL-implication. Necessary and sufficient conditions such that there exist solutions for these equations are first shown. Some sufficient conditions for existence of maximal solutions for these equations are represented, and then it is shown that the complete solution sets of inf-- interval-valued fuzzy relation equations can be determined by their maximal solutions. Finally, the solution sets of linear interval-valued fuzzy relation equations are described by a method similar to that in linear algebra.

Abstract:A formula is first presented to compute the lower upper bounds on the number of fuzzy sets to achieve pre-specified approximation accuracy for an arbitrary multivariate continuous function. The necessary condition for Boolean fuzzy systems as universal approximators with minimal system configurations is then discussed. Two examples are provided to demonstrate how to design a Boolean fuzzy system in order to approximate a given continuous function with a required approximation accuracy.

Abstract:In this paper, decomposition of θ-Fuzzy relation equations is first given in a finite case. Then, for NR-implications, the resolution problem of θ-Fuzzy relation equations is discussed, and some new solvability criteria based upon ″solution matrices″ are studied. In the paper it is shown that for each r∈S(A,b), there exists a maximal element r~*∈S(A,b), such that r~*≥r is given, when the solution set S(A,b) of θ-Fuzzy relation equation A~θ r=b is unempty.

Abstract:This paper discusses fuzzy relational equations with min-biimplication composition where the biimplication is the biresiduation operation with respect to the Łukasiewicz t-norm. It is shown that determining whether a finite system of fuzzy relational equations with min-biimplication composition has a solution is NP-complete. Moreover, a system of such equations can be fully characterized by a system of integer linear inequalities and consequently its solution set can be expressed in the terms of the minimal solutions of this system of integer linear inequalities.

Abstract:This paper analyzes that the main difficulty in reasoning with general terminological axioms is that the membership degrees of fuzzy interpretations are not discrete, but continous in [0,1]. To remove this obstacle difficulty, this paper proposes a discretization method of fuzzy interpretation to translate membership degrees into discrete values in a finite set. Based on this discretization, it gives a discrete Tableau reasoning technique for FALCN reasoning problems with general terminological axioms, which consists of the definition of discrete Tableaus, a construction algorithm for discrete Tableaus and the proof of soundness, completeness and complexity of this algorithm.

Abstract:We consider a problem of system modelling expressed mathematically in terms of fuzzy sets, especially fuzzy relational equations. A general methodological scheme is proposed and, as a sequel, particularized in the form of a sequence of several steps, such as: (i) structure determination, (ii) parameter determination and (iii) model validation.
