Abstract:2D/2D heterostructure is considered an effective strategy to improve photocatalytic performance because of its unique contact form and more surface-active site. Owing to the different and fixed surface structures of different crystalline materials, however, the percentage of heterojunction formation between them is low, which in turn limits the applications. In contrast, the amorphous state has the advantages of larger specific surface area, abundant defects and active sites, and a greater ability to form heterojunctions with the crystalline state. Therefore, the construction of amorphous states and the assembly strategy with crystalline states are very necessary. Here, we modify the crystalline g-C 3 N 4 to an amorphous configuration through boron doping, and in-situ grow the tetragonal BiOBr on B-doped g-C 3 N 4 . Because of the structure of the precursor, the in-situ growth of BiOBr dispersed the boron-doped g-C 3 N 4 chip stacking structure, forming a dispersed 2D/2D heterostructure. In addition, a Z-scheme heterostructure is formed thanks to the unique energy band positions of the two. B-doped g-C 3 N 4 /BiOBr combines the structural advantages of 2D/2D and amorphous/crystalline heterojunctions and has a better antibiotic degradation effect than g-C 3 N 4 /BiOBr with the same 2D/2D structure.
