Abstract:In this paper, we consider the initial boundary value problem for a class of singular parabolic equations with viscoelastic term and logarithmic term. By using the technique of cut-off and the method of Faedo-Galerkin approximation, the local existence of the weak solution is established. Based on the potential well method, the global existence of the weak solution is derived. Furthermore, we prove that the weak solution blows up in finite time by taking the concavity analysis method.

Abstract:This paper deals with the initial-boundary value problem to a nonlocal semilinear pseudo-parabolic equation with conical degeneration, which has been studied in [Global well-posedness for a nonlocal semilinear pseudo-parabolic equation with conical degeneration, J. Differential Equations, 2020, 269(5): 4566--4597]. We first improve the regularity of the weak solution, and then study finite time blow-up phenomenon for the problem. Our initial condition for blow-up only depends on Nehari functional and the conservative integral, which suggests that the assumption of initial energy functional in the original paper can be removed.

Abstract:In this paper, a class of viscoelastic evolution equation on manifolds with conical singularities is concerned. Local existence and uniqueness of the weak solution are established by making use of the Faedo-Galerkin method and the contraction mapping principle. Moreover, by constructing an auxiliary functional and exploiting Levine's concavity method, the finite time blow-up criteria are obtained for arbitrary initial energy. In particular, the upper and lower bound of the blow-up time are also derived.

Abstract:This paper investigates the properties of nonnegative solutions of a quasilinear degenerate parabolic system {ut−div(|∇u|p−2∇u)=a∫Ωvα(x,t)dx,vt−div(|∇v|q−2∇v)=b∫Ωuβ(x,t)dx with zero Dirichlet boundary conditions in a smooth bounded domain Ω⊂RN(N≥1), where p,q>2, α,β≥1, and a,b>0 are positive constants. Under appropriate hypotheses, we first establish the local existence and uniqueness of solutions, then we show that whether or not the solution blows up in finite time depends on the initial data and the relations between αβ and (p−1)(q−1). In the special case of α=q−1 and β=p−1, we conclude that the solution exists globally if ∫Ωϕp−1dx∫Ωψq−1dx≤1/(ab), while if ∫Ωϕp−1dx∫Ωψq−1dx>1/(ab) then the solution blows up in finite time. Here ϕ(x) and ψ(x) denote the unique solution of the following elliptic problem −div(|∇ϕ|p−2∇ϕ)=1 in Ω, ϕ(x)|∂Ω=0 and −div(|∇ψ|q−2∇ψ)=1 in Ω, ψ(x)|∂Ω=0, respectively.

Abstract:This paper investigates the qualitative properties of solutions to certain quasilinear parabolic equations. Under appropriate conditions, we obtain that the solution either exists globally or blows up in finite time by making use of the energy method and subsolution techniques. We find out that the behavior of solution heavily depends on the sign and the growth rate of the nonlinear reaction term and the nonlinear flux through boundary at infinity.

The blow-up conditions are given by a variant of the eigenfunction method combined with new proper-ties on systems of differential inequalities. At the same time, the blow-up set is obtained. For some special cases, the asymptotic behavior of the blow-up solution is precisely characterized.

Abstract:Throughout this paper, we consider the equationu(t) - Delta u = e(vertical bar del u vertical bar)with homogeneous Dirichlet boundary condition. One of our main goals is to show that the existence of global classical solution can derive the existence of classical stationary solution, and the global solution must converge to the stationary solution in C ((Omega) over bar). On the contrary, the existence of the stationary solution also implies the global existence of the classical solution at least in the radial case. The other one is to show that finite time gradient blowup will occur for large initial data or domains with small measure.

Abstract:This paper investigates the initial boundary value problem of finitely degenerate semilinear pseudo-parabolic equations associated with Hörmander's operator. For the low and critical initial energies, based on the global existence of solutions in the previous literature, we investigate the exponential decay estimate of the energy functional. Moreover, we provide a method different from the previous literature to prove the finite time blow-up of solutions under low and critical initial energies, and derive the upper bounds of blow-up time and the rate as well as the exponential growth estimate of blow-up solutions. Furthermore, we prove the existence of global solutions and blow-up solutions at high initial energy. In particular, we establish a blow-up condition independent of the mountain pass level and provide the upper bound of blow-up time and the exponential growth estimate of blow-up solutions, and further we prove the existence of blow-up solutions with arbitrary initial energy by utilizing this blow-up condition. Finally, we determine a lower bound of the blow-up rate for all the above-mentioned blow-up solutions. These results complement the ones obtained in the previous literature.

Abstract:Considered herein is the well-posedness, asymptotic stability and blow-up of the initial-boundary value problem for nonlocal singular viscoelastic wave equation with logarithmic nonlinearity subject to a nonlocal boundary condition. Through the effective combining of Galerkin approximation method, modified potential well theory, perturbed energy method, convexity theory and differential-integral inequality techniques, we firstly demonstrate the global existence and uniqueness of weak solutions in certain weighted Sobolev spaces; Secondly, we establish the explicit polynomial and exponential energy decay estimates under some suitable conditions; Finally, we investigate the finite time blow-up criterion and then derive its upper and lower bounds of blow-up time. The above conclusions extend and improve some results in the literatures.

Before studying the properties of the solutions of this equation, we first establish the local-in-time existence of its weak solutions. Then, in different ranges of reaction exponents, we give the complete classification of blowup results including L∞ blowup and gradient blowup. Moreover, under the subcritical condition of q≤p−1, m≤p−1, we can also prove that the solution is global in time.

Firstly, we construct the self-similar supersolution and subsolution to obtain the critical global existence curve. Secondly, we establish the precise blow-up rate estimates for solutions which blow up in a finite time. Finally, we investigate the localization of blow-up points. The critical curve of Fujita type is conjectured with the aid of some new results.

Abstract:This paper deals with a quasilinear parabolic equation with nonlinear gradient absorption ut - Delta(p)u = u(q) - mu u(r) vertical bar del u vertical bar(delta), x epsilon Omega, t > 0. Here, Delta(p)u = div(vertical bar del u vertical bar(p-2)del u) is the p-Laplace operator, Omega subset of R-N (N >= 1) is a bounded smooth domain. By a regularization approach, we first establish the local-in-time existence of its weak solutions. Then we prove the global existence by constructing a family of bounded super-solutions which technically depend on the inradius of Omega. We also obtain an upper bound and a lower bound of the blowup time. We use a comparison with suitable self-similar sub-solutions to prove the blowup and an upper bound of blowup time. Finally, we derive a lower bound of the blowup time by using the differential inequality technique.
