Abstract:
Aluminum alloys has widely used in many fields because its advantages. However, the life of Aluminum alloys is largely affected by the corrosion environment. So, it is important to perform corrosion resistance treatment on Aluminum alloys. In this paper, the composite film of lauric acid/graphene was prepared by electrodeposition on Aluminum alloys. The morphology, structure, wettability and chemical compositions were characterized by SEM, WCA, FT‐IR, Raman and XPS. The electrochemical tests and the corrosion resistance of the composite film was investigated. It was found that the composite film improved the corrosion resistance of the Aluminum alloys. Compared to Aluminum alloys substrate, the resistance value of the composite film has increased by two orders, and the corrosion current density has dropped by three orders, the salt spray test time reached 386 h. Meanwhile, the study of the computational chemistry indicated that the lauric acid and graphene could adsorbed on the Aluminum alloys alloy surface by the C‐O‐Al chemical bond. Finally, the film forming mechanism indicated that cerium ions can induce lauric acid in the process of electrodeposition, which makes lauric acid formed chemical bonds with Aluminum alloys on the metal surface to form films.

This article is protected by copyright.
