Abstract:We describe how to construct all inverse semigroups Morita equivalent to a given inverse semigroup S. This is done by taking the maximum inverse images of the regular Rees matrix semigroups over S where the sandwich matrix satisfies what we call the McAlister conditions.

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce notions called inverse set and inverse correspondence over inverse semigroups. These are analogies of Hilbert $C^*$-modules and \Ccorrs in the $C^*$-algebra theory. We show that inverse semigroups and inverse correspondences form a bicategory. In this bicategory, two inverse semigroups are equivalent if and only if they are Morita equivalent.

Abstract:We investigate the use of labelled graphs as a Morita equivalence invariant for inverse semigroups. We construct a labelled graph from a combinatorial inverse semigroup $S$ with $0$ admitting a special set of idempotent $\mathcal{D}$-class representatives and show that $S$ is Morita equivalent to a labelled graph inverse semigroup. For the inverse hull $S$ of a Markov shift, we show that the labelled graph determines the Morita equivalence class of $S$ among all other inverse hulls of Markov shifts.

Abstract:The aim of this article is to study some invariants of associative algebras under stable equivalences of Morita type. First of all, we show that, if two finite-dimensional self-injective k-algebras are stably equivalent of Morita type, then their orbit algebras are isomorphic. Secondly, it is verified that the quasitilted property of an algebra is invariant under stable equivalences of Morita type. As an application of this result, it is obtained that if an algebra is of finite representation type, then its tilted property is invariant under stable equivalences of Morita type; the other application to partial tilting modules is given in Section 4. Finally, we prove that when two finite-dimensional k-algebras are stably equivalent of Morita type, their repetitive algebras are also stably equivalent of Morita type under certain conditions.

Abstract:The purpose of this paper is to study the generalization of inverse semigroups (without order). An ordered semigroup S is called an inverse ordered semigroup if for every a 2 S, any two inverses of a are H-related. We prove that an ordered semigroup is complete semilattice of t-simple ordered semigroups if and only if it is completely regular and inverse. Furthermore characterizations of inverse ordered semigroups have been characterized by their ordered idempotents.

Abstract:In this paper we fully solve the Morita equivalence problem for symplectic reflection algebras associated to direct products of finite subgroups of $SL_2(\mathbb{C})$. Namely, given a pair of such symplectic reflection algebras $H_c, H_{c'}$,then $H_c$ is Morita equivalent to $H_c'$ if and only if they are related by a standard Morita equivalence. We also establish new cases for Morita classification problem for type A rational Cherednik algebras. Our approach crucially relies on the reduction modulo large primes.

Abstract:The classical Morita Theorem for rings established the equivalence of three statements, involving categorical equivalences, isomorphisms between corners of finite matrix rings, and bimodule homomorphisms. A fourth equivalent statement (established later) involves an isomorphism between infinite matrix rings. In our main result, we establish the equivalence of analogous statements involving graded categorical equivalences, graded isomorphisms between corners of finite matrix rings, graded bimodule homomorphisms, and graded isomorphisms between infinite matrix rings.

The Case for Inverse Semirings

Abstract:A semiring generalises the notion of a ring, replacing the additive abelian group structure with that of a commutative monoid. In this paper, we study a notion positioned between a ring and a semiring -- a semiring whose additive monoid is a commutative inverse semigroup. These inverse semirings include some important classes of semirings, as well as some new motivating examples. We devote particular attention to the inverse semiring of bounded polynomials and argue for their computational significance. We then prove a number of fundamental results about inverse semirings, their modules and their ideals. Parts of the theory show strong similarities with rings, while other parts are akin to the theory of idempotent semirings or distributive lattices. We note in particular that downward-closed submodules are precisely kernels. We end by exploring a connection to the theory of E-unitary inverse semigroups.

Abstract:The concept of the inverse along an element was introduced by Mary in 2011. Later, Zhu et al. introduced the one-sided inverse along an element. In this paper, we first give a new existence criterion for the one-sided inverse along a product and characterize the existence of Moore–Penrose inverse by means of one-sided invertibility of certain element in a ring. In addition, we show that $a\in S^{\dagger }\bigcap S^{\#}$ if and only if $(a^{*}a)^{k}$ is invertible along a if and only if $(aa^{*})^{k}$ is invertible along a in a $*$-monoid S, where k is an arbitrary given positive integer. Finally, we prove that the inverse of a along $aa^{*}$ coincides with the core inverse of a under the condition $a\in S^{\{1,4\}}$ in a $*$-monoid S.

Abstract:Abstract For self-injective algebras, Rickard proved that each derived equivalence induces a stable equivalence of Morita type. For general algebras, it is unknown when a derived equivalence implies a stable equivalence of Morita type. In this article, we first show that each derived equivalence F between the derived categories of Artin algebras A and B arises naturally as a functor between their stable module categories, which can be used to compare certain homological dimensions of A with that of B . We then give a sufficient condition for the functor to be an equivalence. Moreover, if we work with finite-dimensional algebras over a field, then the sufficient condition guarantees the existence of a stable equivalence of Morita type. In this way, we extend the classical result of Rickard. Furthermore, we provide several inductive methods for constructing those derived equivalences that induce stable equivalences of Morita type. It turns out that we may produce a lot of (usually not self-injective) finite-dimensional algebras that are both derived-equivalent and stably equivalent of Morita type; thus, they share many common invariants.

Abstract:Sufficient conditions are obtained under which the semigroup ring of a semigroup, in particular, of an inverse semigroup, is weakly regular. For some inverse semigroups and some orthodox semigroups, the necessary and sufficient conditions for the weak regularity of the semigroup rings are found. A problem is mentioned especially which is much more difficult for weak regularity than for regularity. Only a partial solution of this problem is given for weak regularity.

Abstract:Let N_1 (resp.N_2) be a nest A (resp. B) be the corresponding nest algebra, A_0 (resp. B_0) be the subalgebra of compact operators. We prove that the nests N_1, N_2 are isomorphic if and only if the algebras A, B are weakly-* Morita equivalent if and only if the algebras A_0, B_0 are strongly Morita equivalent. We characterize the nest isomorphisms which implement stable isomorphism between the corresponding nest algebras.

Abstract:As an appropriate generalisation of the features of the classical (Schein) theory of representations of inverse semigroups in $\mathscr{I}_{X}$, a theory of representations of inverse semigroups by homomorphisms into complete atomistic inverse algebras is developed. This class of inverse algebras includes partial automorphism monoids of entities such as graphs, vector spaces and modules. A workable theory of decompositions is reached; however complete distributivity is required for results approaching those of the classical case.

Abstract:Let S be a finite orthodox semigroup or an orthodox semigroup where the idempotent band E(S) is locally pseudofinite. In this paper, by using principal factors and Rukolaine idempotents, we show that the contracted semigroup algebra R-0[S] is semiprimitive if and only if S is an inverse semigroup and R[G] is semiprimitive for each maximal subgroup G of S. This theorem strengthens previous results about the semiprimitivity of inverse semigroup algebras.

Abstract:Journal of Algebra and Its Applications, Ahead of Print. The Morita equivalences of classical Brauer algebras and classical Birman–Murakami–Wenzl (BMW) algebras have been well studied. Here, we study the Morita equivalence problems on these two kinds of algebras of simply-laced type, especially for them with the generic parameters. We show that Brauer algebras and BMW algebras of simply-laced type are Morita equivalent to the direct sums of some group algebras of Coxeter groups and some Hecke algebras of Coxeter groups, respectively.

Abstract:In this paper, we introduce a new notion in a semigroup S as an extension of Mary's inverse. Let a, d is an element of S. An element a is called left (resp. right) invertible along d if there exists b is an element of S such that bad = d (resp. dab = b) and b <=(L) d (resp. b <=(R) d). An existence criterion of this type inverse is derived. Moreover, several characterizations of left (right) regularity, left (right) pi-regularity and left (right) *-regularity are given in a semigroup. Further, another existence criterion of this type inverse is given by means of a left (right) invertibility of certain elements in a ring. Finally, we study the (left, right) inverse along a product in a ring, and, as an application, Mary's inverse along a matrix is expressed.

Abstract:Stable equivalences of Morita type preserve many interesting properties and are proved to be the appropriate concept for studying equivalences between stable categories. Recently the singularity category attained much attraction and Xiao-Wu Chen and Long-Gang Sun gave an appropriate definition of singular equivalence of Morita type.
