Abstract:Multi-objective flexible job-shop scheduling problem is of great significance to improve the efficiency of the production system. However, most studies lack dynamic scheduling experiments. In this paper, a hybrid-nondominated sorting algorithm based on NSGA-II (Non-dominated Sorting Genetic Algorithm) is proposed to optimize problem considering the influence of transportation time window. Co-evolution PSO (Particles Swarm Optimization) based on Cauchy mutation and weight mapping crossover are used to generate new solutions to improve the ability of local search and global detection. The proposed method has better solution with convergence and distributivity. The chromosome is decoded by a dynamic fuzzy greedy interpolation method based on exact time. The algorithm is applied to famous benchmarks to verify the effectiveness of the proposed method in dynamic scene.

Abstract:It takes a long time to move huge parts in the heavy-duty mechanical department and the schedule only considering production facilities is not adequate.Therefore,the hybrid flow shop problem with blocking(HFS-B)is introduced to analyze the various logistics and production facilities coordination scheduling problem in the heavy-duty mechanical department.A mathematical model of the problem is built up and optimization process of scheduling problem is carried out based on genetic algorithm.A project example is presented and its optimization scheme is obtained for the logistics and facilities coordination scheduling problem,concerning cranes,vehicles and manufacturing facilities.Finally,it is concluded from the simulation results that the method is effective.

Abstract:To guarantee the reliability of Numerical Control(NC) system,a model for hybrid dependent task set was established and the heuristic Best-First(BF) algorithm was introduced to realize optimized scheduling of this model.Then,a fault-tolerant scheduling strategy based on rollback recovery and BF algorithm was proposed to remove transient fault of system.Compared with traditional fault tolerate scheduling algorithm,the proposed strategy could be applied to scheduling in mixed and dependent tasks of NC system,and raise the level of resources utilization by reducing the cost of fault disposal.Validity of proposed approach applied to NC system was verified by case study and algorithm simulation.

Abstract:The two-stage flow shop scheduling problem with a batch processing machine and limited waiting time was studied in the paper entitled “Two new approaches for a two-stage hybrid flowshop problem with a single batch processing machine under waiting time constraint” [Chung, T.-P., Sun, H., Liao, C.-J., 2016, Computers & Industrial Engineering, 10.1016/j.cie.2016.11.031]. In the original paper, this problem was formulated as a mixed-integer linear programming model. However, this model is not correct and the blocking time is confusing. In this note, a correct mixed-integer linear programming model is proposed and the confusing blocking time is discussed. Numerical experiments are conducted to illustrate the necessity of correction.

Abstract:This paper proposes a novel iterative approach to contingency filtering for corrective security-constrained optimal power flow (CSCOPF) problems that include conflicting contingencies. The rescheduling index (the minimum of the maximal controllable rescheduling value in the post-contingency state) becomes the filtering index in a modified CSCOPF (MCSCOPF) model designed to deal with conflicting contingencies. Moreover, a decomposed parallel interior point method (DPIPM) is developed to factorize the primal-dual system into blocks according to contingency scenarios and compute these blocks with a coarse-grained parallelism. The feasibility and effectiveness of the proposed approach is verified by solving for conflicting contingencies in a standard testing system and a real-world system.

Abstract:With the continuous development of national economies, problems of various energy consumption levels and pollution emissions in manufacturing have attracted attention from researchers. Most existing research has focused on reducing economic costs and energy consumption. However, the Hybrid Flow Shop Scheduling Problem with energy-efficient criteria has not yet been well studied, especially with blocking constraints. This paper is the first to present a mathematical model of the blocking hybrid flow shop problem with an energy-efficient criterion and a modified Iterative Greedy algorithm based on a swap strategy designed to optimize the constructed model. In the proposed algorithm, first, a heuristic is adopted to generate the initial solution. Second, a local perturbation strategy based on a swap operator is designed to ensure the convergence of the algorithm. Third, a simple global perturbation strategy based on a half-swap operator is proposed as a means to further search for the potentially best solution with the traditional simulated annealing criterion. The proposed algorithm is applied to 150 test instances at different scales and compared to state-of-the-art algorithms. The experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm outperforms the compared algorithms and can obtain a better solution.

Abstract:Distributed flow shop scheduling of a camshaft machining is an important optimization problem in the automobile industry. The previous studies on distributed flow shop scheduling problem mainly emphasized homogeneous factories (shop types are identical from factory to factory) and economic criterion (e.g., makespan and tardiness). Nevertheless, heterogeneous factories (shop types are varied in different factories) and environment criterion (e.g., energy consumption and carbon emission) are inevitable because of the requirement of practical production and life. In this article, we address this energy-efficient scheduling of distributed flow shop with heterogeneous factories for the first time, where contains permutation and hybrid flow shops. First, a new mathematical model of this problem with objectives of minimization makespan and total energy consumption is formulated. Then, a hybrid multiobjective optimization algorithm, which integrates the iterated greedy (IG) and an efficient local search, is designed to provide a set of tradeoff solutions for this problem. Furthermore, the parameter setting of the proposed algorithm is calibrated by using a Taguchi approach of design-of-experiment. Finally, to verify the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm, it is compared against other well-known multiobjective optimization algorithms including MOEA/D, NSGA-II, MMOIG, SPEA2, AdaW, and MO-LR in an automobile plant of China. Experimental results demonstrate that the proposed algorithm outperforms these six state-of-the-art multiobjective optimization algorithms in this real-world instance.

Abstract:Energy-efficient scheduling problems with additional resources are seldom studied in hybrid flow shops. In this study, an energy-efficient hybrid flow shop scheduling problem (EHFSP) with additional resources is studied in which there is asymmetry in the machine. An adaptive two-class teaching-learning-based optimization (ATLBO) which has multiple teachers is proposed to simultaneously minimize the makespan and the total energy consumption. After two classes are formed, a teacher phase is first executed, which consists of teacher self-learning and teacher training. Then, an adaptive learner phase is presented, in which the quality of two classes is used to adaptively decide the learner phase or the reinforcement search of the temporary solution set. An adaptive formation of classes is also given. Extensive experiments were conducted and the computational results show that the new strategies are effective and that ATLBO was able to provide better results than comparative algorithms reported in the literature in at least 54 of 68 instances.

Abstract:Targeting at the problems existing in the multi-objective scheduling of traditional flexible job shop and the complexity of multi-resource allocation, this paper establishes an improved calculation model considering the optimization of such four targets as completion time, labour distribution, equipment compliance and production cost. The multi-objective integrated constraint optimization algorithm is designed and the Pareto solution set following different rules based on the NSGA-Pi algorithm is finally obtained. The research results show that the centralized selection of processing equipment and low efficiency of the job sequencing in the scheduling of traditional flexible job shop get improved. The personnel scheduling in the flexible working resources is highlighted, and multi-rule dynamic programming is introduced to get the optimal completion time and personnel allocation program. The optimal scheduling program can be quickly searched out using the NSGA-Pi algorithm, which effectively improves the search efficiency. The batch production within certain range can reduce the product processing time, but at the same time, it will increase the manufacturing costs. The use of smooth movement can reduce the overall processing time, but a too small movement volume will cause the increase in the number of movements. The exact match between the operators, numerical control equipment and the product processing procedures contributes to the feasibility of the preproduction operation plan.
