Influencing Factors of the Duration of Mechanical and Electrical Products' Export Trade Relation

Abstract:This paper analyzes influencing factors of the duration of mechanical and electrical products' export trade relation in China from 1995 to 2007 based on the data of HS-6 export trade and survival analysis.The result shows that the market scale and purchase power of export destinations,the increase of initial trade volume,the enhancement of products' non-substituability,and so on can benefit the extension of the duration of mechanical and electrical products' export trade relation.However,the increased unit value of these products,the lengthened trade distance with import countries,the belonging issue of intermediate products or manufactured goods,the trading with internal or adjacent countries,and so on blocks the extension of the duration of mechanical and electrical products' export trade relation.And on this basis,it gives some corresponding countermeasures.
