Abstract:Nanomaterials are the key to the success of cutting-edge monitoring and diagnostics systems enabled by flexible electronics that are revolutionizing healthcare systems. Among them, layered 2D-based materials with exceptional qualities including high electrical conductivity, mechanical flexibility, thermal stability, and optical adaptability stand out. These include graphene and transition metal dichalcogenides. This comprehensive examination covers the fabrication and characterisation of these nanomaterials, as well as their immense potential for usage in flexible electronics for biomedical applications. The layered 2D-based nanomaterials have changed the face of healthcare technology by providing examples ranging from wearable health monitoring devices to implantable sensors. This has improved both device performance and user experience. There are many difficulties including biocompatibility and long-term stability while simultaneously addressing moral and legal issues, highlighting the significance of responsible technology development in this game-changing area. The extraordinary characteristics of layered 2D-based nanomaterials are revealed in this study, presenting them as key features in developing flexible electronics with the potential to take patient care and diagnostics to whole new levels.
