Abstract:Let G = (V, E) be a locally finite graph, whose measure μ(x) has positive lower bound, and Δ be the usual graph Laplacian. Applying the mountain-pass theorem due to Ambrosetti and Rabinowitz (1973), we establish existence results for some nonlinear equations, namely Δu + hu = f(x, u), x ∈ V. In particular, we prove that if h and f satisfy certain assumptions, then the above-mentioned equation has strictly positive solutions. Also, we consider existence of positive solutions of the perturbed equation Δu + hu = f(x, u) + ϵg. Similar problems have been extensively studied on the Euclidean space as well as on Riemannian manifolds.

Abstract:Suppose that $G=(V, E)$ be a locally finite and connected graph with symmetric weight and uniformly positive measure, where $V$ denotes the vertex set and $E$ denotes the edge set. We are concered with the following problem $$ \begin{cases}-\Delta u+h u=f(x, u), & \text { in } \Omega, \\ u=0, & \text { on } \partial \Omega,\end{cases} $$ on the graph, where $h: \Omega \rightarrow \mathbb{R}$, $f: \Omega \times \mathbb{R} \rightarrow \mathbb{R}$ and $u: \Omega \rightarrow \mathbb{R}$. When $ f $ and $ h $ satisfies certain assumption conditions, we can ascertain the existence of one or two nontrivial solutions on the graph.

Abstract:Let G=(V,E) be a simple, finite, connected, weighted graph satisfying curvature condition CDE′(n,0) and polynomial volume growth V(x,r)≤c0rm, Δη be the normalized Laplacian. In this paper we prove that the semilinear heat equation ut=Δηu+u1+α on G has no non-negative global solutions for any bounded, non-negative and non-trivial initial value in the case of mα=2. The obtained result provides a significant complement to the work that was done recently by Lin and Wu (2017) concerning the existence and nonexistence of global solutions for the semilinear heat equation on graphs.
Existence of solutions for a poly-Laplacian system involving concave-convex nonlinearity on locally finite graphs

Abstract:We investigate the existence of two nontrivial solutions for a poly-Laplacian system involving concave-convex nonlinearities and parameters with Dirichlet boundary condition on locally finite graphs. By using the mountain pass theorem and Ekeland's variational principle, we obtain that system has at least one nontrivial solution of positive energy and one nontrivial solution of negative energy, respectively. We also obtain an estimate about semi-trivial solutions. Moreover, by using a result in [4] which is based on the fibering method and Nehari manifold, we obtain the existence of ground state solution to the single equation corresponding to poly-Laplacian system. Especially, we present some ranges of parameters in all of results.

Abstract:We are mainly concerned with the nonlinear $p$-Laplace equation \begin{equation*} -\Delta_pu+\rho|u|^{p-2}u=\psi(x,u) \end{equation*} on a locally finite graph $G=(V,E)$, where $p$ belongs to $(1, +\infty)$. We obtain existence of positive solutions and positive ground state solutions by using the mountain-pass theorem and the Nehari manifold respectively. Moreover, we also analyze the asymptotic behavior for a sequence of positive ground state solutions. Compared with all the existing relevant works, our results have made essential improvements in at least three aspects: $(i)$ $p$ can take any value in $(1, +\infty)$; $(ii)$ the conditions on the graph $G$ and the potential $\rho$ are relaxed; $(iii)$ for the existence of positive solutions, the growth condition in previous works on the nonlinear term $\psi(x,s)$ as $s\rightarrow +\infty$ is removed.

Abstract:In this paper, we assume that $q>0$, $p>1$ and $s\in(0,1)$ , and consider the following nonlinear fractional p-Laplacian equations on finite graphs: \begin{equation*} \left\{ \begin{array}{lll} \partial_t u^q(x,t)+(-\Delta)_p^su=0,\\[15pt] u(x,t)|_{t=0}=u_0>0, \end{array} \right. \end{equation*} where $(-\Delta)_p^s$ is fractional Laplace operator on finite graphs. We establish the existence of solutions to the above parabolic equation using an iterative approach, which is different from previous works on graphs. Furthermore, we also derive some energy estimate of the solution.

Existence theorems for a generalized Chern-Simons equation on finite graphs

Abstract:Denote by $G=(V,E)$ a finite graph. We study a generalized Chern-Simons equation $$ \Delta u=\lambda \mathrm{e}^u(\mathrm{e}^{bu}-1)+4\pi\sum\limits_{j=1}^{N}\delta_{p_j} $$ on $G$, where $\lambda$ and $b$ are positive constants; $N$ is a positive integer; $p_1, p_2, \cdot\cdot\cdot, p_N$ are distinct vertices of $V$ and $\delta_{p_j}$ is the Dirac delta mass at $p_j$. We prove that there exists a critical value $\lambda_c$ such that the equation has a solution if $\lambda\geq \lambda_c$ and the equation has no solution if $\lambda<\lambda_c$. We also prove that if $\lambda>\lambda_c$ the equation has at least two solutions which include a local minimizer for the corresponding functional and a mountain-pass type solution.

Abstract:In this paper, we first prove some propositions of Sobolev spaces defined on a locally finite graph G=(V,E), which are fundamental when dealing with equations on graphs under the variational framework. Then we consider a nonlinear biharmonic equationΔ2u−Δu+(λa+1)u=|u|p−2u on G=(V,E). Under some suitable assumptions, we prove that for any λ>1 and p>2, the equation admits a ground state solution uλ. Moreover, we prove that as λ→+∞, the solutions uλ converge to a solution of the equation{Δ2u−Δu+u=|u|p−2u,inΩ,u=0,on∂Ω, where Ω={x∈V:a(x)=0} is the potential well and ∂Ω denotes the boundary of Ω.

Abstract:We investigate existence of global in time solutions and blow-up of solutions to the semilinear heat equation posed on infinite graphs. The source term is a general function $f(u)$. We always assume that the infimum of the spectrum of the Laplace operator $\lambda_1(G)$ on the graph is positive. According to an interaction between the behavior of $f$ close to $0$ and the value $\lambda_1(G)$, we get the existence of a global in time solution or blow-up of any nonnegative solution, provided that the initial datum is nontrivial.

Abstract:Let G=(V,E) be a locally finite connected weighted graph, and Δ be the usual graph Laplacian. In this article, we study blow-up problems for the nonlinear parabolic equation ut=Δu + f(u) on G. The blow-up phenomenons for ut=Δu + f(u) are discussed in terms of two cases: (i) an initial condition is given; (ii) a Dirichlet boundary condition is given. We prove that if f satisfies appropriate conditions, then the corresponding solutions will blow up in a finite time.

Abstract:This paper is mainly concerned with the following nonlinear p-Laplacian equation $$-\Delta_{p}(x)+(\lambda a(x)+1)\vert u\vert^{p-2}(x)u(x)=f(x,u(x)),\ \ \ \rm{in}\ V$$ on a locally finite graph G = (V, E) with more general nonlinear term, where Δp is the discrete p-Laplacian on graphs, p ≥ 2. Under some suitable conditions on f and a(x), we can prove that the equation admits a positive solution by the Mountain Pass theorem and a ground state solution uλ via the method of Nehari manifold, for any λ > 1. Abstract:Let G=(V,E) be an infinite graph. The purpose of this paper is to investigate the nonexistence of global solutions for the following semilinear heat equation {[ ∂ _t u=Δ u + u^1+α, t>0,x∈ V,; u(0,x)=u_0(x), x ∈ V, ]. where Δ is an unbounded Laplacian on G, α is a positive parameter and u_0 is a nonnegative and nontrivial initial value. Using on-diagonal lower heat kernel bounds, we prove that the semilinear heat equation admits the blow-up solutions, which is viewed as a discrete analog of that of Fujita (J Fac Sci Univ Tokyo 13:109–124, 1966) and had been generalized to locally finite graphs with bounded Laplacians by Lin and Wu (Calc Var Partial Diff Equ 56(4):22, 2017). In this paper, new techniques have been developed to deal with unbounded graph Laplacians.

The analysis reveals that the existence of solutions for (P) depends on p, q, s in general, and on the relation between λ and the best constant in the Sobolev-Hardy inequality.

Abstract:Let $G=(V,E)$ be a locally finite connected graph. We develop the first eigenvalue method on $G$ introduced in 1963 by Kaplan \cite{Kaplan} on Euclidean space, the discrete Phragmén-Lindelöf principle of parabolic equations and upper and lower solutions method on $G$. Using these methods, we establish the estimates and asymptotic behaviour of the life span of solutions to a semilinear heat equation with initial data $\lambda\psi(x)$ for different scales of $\lambda$ on $G$ under some different conditions. Our results are different from the continuous case, which is related to the structure of the graph $G$.

Abstract:We deal with the existence of three distinct solutions for a poly-Laplacian system with a parameter on finite graphs and a $(p,q)$-Laplacian system with a parameter on locally finite graphs.The main tool is an abstract critical points theorem in [Bonanno and Bisci, J.Math.Appl.Anal, 2011, 382(1): 1-8]. A key point in this paper is that we overcome the difficulty to prove that the G$\hat{\mbox{a}}$teaux derivative of the variational functional for poly-Laplacian operator admits a continuous inverse, which is caused by the special definition of the poly-Laplacian operator on graph and mutual coupling of two variables in system.

Abstract:Let G = (V, E) be a locally finite graph. Firstly, using calculus of variations, including a direct method of variation and the mountain-pass theory, we get sequences of solutions to several local equations on G (the Schrödinger equation, the mean field equation, and the Yamabe equation). Secondly, we derive uniform estimates for those local solution sequences. Finally, we obtain global solutions by extracting convergent sequence of solutions.
