The above article, published online on 23 February 2023, in Wiley Online Library (wileyonlinelibrary.com), and has been retracted by agreement between the journal Editor-in-Chief, Professor Michael Geary; the International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics; and John Wiley and Sons Ltd. A third party raised concerns regarding highly unlikely averages of patient data in the published article, which indicated potential data fabrication. The journal began an investigation and requested an independent review of the available dataset, which found consistent patterns in patient data that are statistically implausible. The authors confirmed that there were errors in the listed BMI of participants, but they denied that the data has been fabricated. The retraction has been agreed to because the editors have concluded that, as the data show highly improbable patterns of similar patients, neither the data nor the results presented in the article can be considered reliable. The authors disagree with the retraction.

The above article, published online on 30 August 2016 in Wiley Online Library (wileyonlinelibrary.com) has been retracted by agreement between the journal's Editor-in-Chief, Michael Geary, International Federation of Gynecology and Obstetrics and John Wiley & Sons Ltd. The retraction has been agreed following an investigation based on concerns raised by a third party. Several discrepancies were found between the information provided during the trial registration and the published article including, the study dates, participant eligibility criteria and the study's focus on natural killer cells. Furthermore, the definition of clinical pregnancy differs between the article and trial registration. Errors were also uncovered in Table 2 of the article; the number of spontaneous abortions and ongoing pregnancies do not add up to the total number of clinical pregnancies stated. Additionally, the calculation specified to define implantation rate is not consistent with the values reported in Table 2. The authors were unable to provide the original data upon request or provide an explanation for the discrepancies. Given the nature and extent of the discrepancies, the editors have lost confidence in the data and conclusions presented. The author, Waleed El-Khayat, disagrees with the retraction; the other authors were not available for comment.

Inclusion of inaccurate information in the material submitted for peer review is a violation of publishing ethics standards. Moreover, this paper does not meet our requirement, as recommended by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors and specified in our guide for authors, that all clinical trials are prospectively registered which is important to maintain the integrity of science.Apologies are offered to the readers of the journal that discrepancies between the trial registration and the published paper were not detected during the peer review process.
