What problem does this paper attempt to address?
The paper aims to address the issues of electrode materials for supercapacitors (SCs). Specifically, it explores the latest advancements in using metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) as electrode materials for supercapacitors and discusses the challenges they face and possible solutions. MOF materials exhibit great potential in supercapacitor applications due to their high specific surface area, tunable structure, and good porosity. However, pristine MOF materials suffer from poor conductivity and instability in electrolytes. Therefore, the paper focuses on how to improve the performance of MOF materials by compositing or derivatizing them with conductive materials to enhance the practical application effects of supercapacitors. Additionally, the paper summarizes different types of MOF-based electrode materials and their performance in supercapacitor applications.
