Abstract:Motivated by recent experimental evidence for apparent $cc\bar c \bar c$ states at LHCb, CMS and ATLAS, we consider how the mass spectrum and decays of such states can be used to discriminate among their possible theoretical interpretations, with a particular focus on identifying whether quarks or diquarks are the most relevant degrees of freedom. Our preferred scenario is that $X(6600)$ and its apparent partner state $X(6400)$ are the tensor $(2^{++})$ and scalar $(0^{++})$ states of an S-wave multiplet of $cc\bar c \bar c$ states. Using tetraquark mass relations which are independent of (or only weakly dependent on) model parameters, we give predictions for the masses of additional partner states with axial and scalar quantum numbers. Additionally, we give predictions for relations among decay branching fractions to $J/\psi J/\psi$, $J/\psi \eta_c$, $\eta_c\eta_c$ and $D^{(*)} \bar{D}^{(*)}$ channels. The scenario we consider is consistent with existing experimental data on $J/\psi J/\psi$, and our predictions for partner states and their decays can be confronted with future experimental data, to discriminate between quark and diquark models.

Abstract:The LHCb experiment at CERN has discovered a doubly charmed isoscalar tetraquark $T_{cc}$ with the quantum numbers of $c c \bar u \bar d$ and mass of about 3875 MeV/$c^2$, decaying to $D^0 D^0 \pi^+$ through the intermediate channel $D^{*+} D^0$. We present a study of its strange companions with the quantum numbers of $c c \bar q \bar s$, where $q = u, d$ and isospin violation is neglected.

Abstract:In this talk, we briefly report the investigations of the mass spectra for the $cc\bar c\bar c, bb\bar b\bar b$, $bc\bar b\bar c$ and $cc\bar b\bar b$ tetraquark states by using the QCD moment sum rule method. The calculations for the fully-charm $cc\bar c\bar c$ tetraquarks have been successfully predicted the existence of di-$J/\psi$ resonances including $X(6900)$ in LHCb's observation. The quantum numbers for these resonance structures are also suggested. More efforts are still needed in both theoretical and experimental aspects to study the properties of these fully-heavy tetraquark states. They may be observed at facilities such as LHCb, CMS and RHIC in the future.

Abstract:Motivated by the LHCb’s new observation of structures in the J/ψ-pair invariant mass spectrum, which could be classified as possible ccc¯c¯ tetraquark candidates, we systematically study 0+ fully-charmed tetraquark states through QCD sum rules. Developing the calculation techniques to fourfold heavy hadronic systems, four different configuration currents with 0+ are considered, and vacuum condensates up to dimension six are included in the operator product expansion. Finally, the mass values acquired for 0+ ccc¯c¯ tetraquark states agree well with the experimental data of the broad structure, which support that it could be a 0+ fully-charmed tetraquark state.

Abstract:Recently LHCb experimental group find an exotic state $T^+_{cc}$ from the process $p\bar{p} \to D^0D^0\pi^+ + X$. A key question is if it is just a molecule or may have confined tetraquark ingredient. To investigate this, different methods are taken, including two channel ($D^{*+}D^0$ and $D^{*0}D^+$) K-matrix unitarization and single channel Flatté-like parametrization method analysed by pole counting rule and spectral density function sum rule. It demonstrates that $T^+_{cc}$ is a molecular state, though the possibility that there may exist elementary ingredient can not be excluded, by rough analysis on its production rate.

Abstract:The LHCb Collaboration announced in 2021 the discovery of a new tetraquark-like state, named $T_{cc}^+$, with minimum quark content $cc\bar u\bar d$, close to the $D^0D^{*+}$ threshold. This has motivated countless theoretical works trying to identify the dynamics which is responsible of the formation of such state; in particular, the one performed by us in Ref. \cite{Ortega:2022efc}, where a $D^0D^{*+}$ molecular candidate whose mass, width, scattering length and effective ranges are in reasonable agreement with experimental measurements. We explore herein the possibility of having $T_{cc}^+$ partners in all doubly-heavy tetraquark sectors, considering doubly represented light antiquarks $u$, $d$ or $s$, and taking into account all possible spin-parity quantum numbers. The computation is done using a constituent-quark-model based meson-meson coupled-channels framework which has been tested many times in the last fifteen years describing conventional heavy mesons and baryons, their coupling with hadron-hadron thresholds but also in exploring its application to compact multiquark structures. The advantage of using an approach with such a relatively large history is that it allows us to make predictions because all the parameters have already been constrained from our previous works. Then, from this perspective, we present a parameter-free model-dependent prediction of doubly-heavy tetraquarks that may be partners of the discovered $T_{cc}^+$ state.

Progress in Particle and Nuclear Physics

Abstract:The past seventeen years have witnessed tremendous progress on the experimental and theoretical explorations of the multiquark states. The hidden-charm and hidden-bottom multiquark systems were reviewed extensively in [Phys. Rept. 639 (2016) 1-121]. In this article, we shall update the experimental and theoretical efforts on the hidden heavy flavor multiquark systems in the past three years. Especially the LHCb collaboration not only confirmed the existence of the hidden-charm pentaquarks but also provided strong evidence of the molecular picture. Besides the well-known XYZ and P_c states, we shall discuss more interesting tetraquark and pentaquark systems either with one, two, three or even four heavy quarks. Some very intriguing states include the fully heavy exotic tetraquark states QQQ̅Q̅ and doubly heavy tetraquark states QQq̅q̅, where Q is a heavy quark. The QQQ̅Q̅ states may be produced at LHC while the QQq̅q̅ system may be searched for at BelleII and LHCb. Moreover, we shall pay special attention to various theoretical schemes. We shall emphasize the model-independent predictions of various models which are truly/closely related to Quantum Chromodynamics (QCD). There have also accumulated many lattice QCD simulations through multiple channel scattering on the lattice in recent years, which provide deep insights into the underlying structure/dynamics of the XYZ states. In terms of the recent P_c states, the lattice simulations of the charmed baryon and anti-charmed meson scattering are badly needed. We shall also discuss some important states which may be searched for at BESIII, BelleII and LHCb in the coming years.
Fully Charmed Tetraquark States in $8_{[c\bar{c}]}\otimes8_{[c\bar{c}]}$ Color Structure via QCD Sum Rules

Abstract:Stimulated by the recent experimental results on the fully-charm tetraquark states, we systematically calculate the mass spectra of the fully-charm tetraquark states in $8_{[c\bar{c}]}\otimes8_{[c\bar{c}]}$ color configuration via QCD sum rules. By constructing nine $8_{[c\bar{c}]}\otimes8_{[c\bar{c}]}$ type currents with quantum numbers $J^{PC}=0^{-+},0^{--},1^{-+},1^{+-},1^{--}$ and $2^{++}$, we perform analytic calculation up to dimension six in the Operator Product Expansion (OPE). We find the fully-charm tetraquark states with $J^{PC}=1^{+-},2^{++}$ lie around 6.48 $\sim$ 6.62 GeV while the fully-charm tetraquark states with $J^{PC}=0^{-+},0^{--},1^{--},1^{-+}$ are about 6.85 $\sim$ 7.02 GeV. Notably, the mass predictions for the $c\bar{c}c\bar{c}$ tetraquarks, specifically those with $J^{PC}=2^{++}$, align with the broad structure identified by LHCb. Moreover, the masses of fully-charm tetraquarks with $J^{PC}=0^{-+}$ and $1^{-+}$ are anticipated to match closely with the mass of X(6900), considering the margin of error. Such findings hint at the presence of some $8_{[c\bar{c}]}\otimes8_{[c\bar{c}]}$ components within the di-$J/\psi$ structures observed by LHCb. The predictions for tetraquark states with $J^{PC}=0^{--},1^{+-},1^{--}$ may be accessible in the future BelleII, Super-B, PANDA, and LHCb experiments.

Hunting for the prospective $T_{cc}$ family based on the diquark-antidiquark configuration

Abstract:Instigated by the first $T_{cc}$ observation at the LHCb Collaboration, the spectroscopic properties of the entire isoscalar and isovector $T_{cc}$ family are systematically unveiled by means of multiple sorts of relativized and nonrelativistic diquark formalisms, encompassing the Godfrey-Isgur relativized diquark model, the modified Godfrey-Isgur relativized diquark model incorporating the color screening effects, the nonrelativistic diquark model with the Gaussian type hyperfine potential, and the nonrelativistic diquark model with the Yukawa type hyperfine potential. The theoretical outcomes of various diquark-antidiquark scenarios are inclined to categorize the $T_{cc}(3875)^+$ structure as the exemplary candidate of the $1S$-wave isoscalar axial-vector double-charm tetraquark state. In light of the diquark-antidiquark configuration, this work investigates the mixing angles of the orbitally excited isovector $T_{cc}$ states and the magic mixing angles of the ideal heavy-light tetraquarks for the first time. As the advancement of the experimental detection capability, these phenomenological prognostications will effectively boost the hunting for the prospective low-lying $T_{cc}$ states in the future.

Abstract:Recently, the LHCb Collaboration has measured the processes $B^0\to\bar{D}^0D_s^+\pi^-$ and $B^+\to\bar{D}^0D_s^+\pi^+$, where the $D_s^+\pi^-$ and $D_s^+\pi^+$ invariant mass distributions show the significant signals of two new open-flavor tetraquark states $T_{c\bar{s}}(2900)^0$ and $T_{c\bar{s}}(2900)^{++}$, as the two of the isospin triplet. In this work, we have investigated the process $\Lambda_b\to K^0D^0\Lambda$ by taking into account the intermediate nucleon resonance $N^*(1535)$ and the tetraquark state $T_{c\bar{s}}(2900)^0$, which could be dynamically generated by the interactions of the $D^*K^*/D^*_s\rho$ and the pseoduscalar mesons-octet baryons, respectively. Our results show that a clear peak of the open-flavor tetraquark $T_{c\bar{s}}(2900)$ may appear in the $K^0D^0$ invariant mass distribution of the process $\Lambda_b\to K^0D^0\Lambda$, which could be tested by future experiments.

Fully-heavy tetraquark states and their evidences in the LHC observations

Abstract:Stimulated by the exciting progress on the observations of the fully-charmed tetraquarks at LHC, we carry out a combined analysis of the mass spectra and fall-apart decays of the $1S$-, $2S$-, and $1P$-wave $cc\bar{c}\bar{c}$ states in a nonrelativistic quark model (NRQM). It is found that the $X(6600)$ structure observed in the di-$J/\psi$ invariant mass spectrum can be explained by the $1S$-wave state $T_{(4c)0^{++}}(6550)$. This structure may also bear some feed-down effects from the higher $2S$ and/or $1P$ tetraquark states. The $X(6900)$ structure observed in both the di-$J/\psi$ and $J/\psi \psi(2S)$ channels can be naturally explained by the $2S$-wave state $T_{(4c)0^{++}}(6957)$. The small shoulder structure around $6.2-6.4$ GeV observed at CMS and ATLAS may be due to the feed-down effects from some $1P$-wave states with $C=-1$ and/or some $2S$-wave states with $J^{PC}=0^{++}$. Other decay channels are implied in such a scenario and they can be investigated by future experimental analyses. Considering the large discovery potential at LHC, we also present predictions for the $bb\bar{b}\bar{b}$ states which can be searched for in the future.

Abstract:The compact tetraquark states with fully heavy quark contents QQQ¯Q¯ are studied as the bound states of the diquark-antidiquark within the Bethe-Salpeter framework. The (anti)diquark masses and form factors used are the same as we calculated the doubly heavy baryons in a previous work. Under the instantaneous approximation, the three-dimensional (Bethe-)Salpeter equation of the tetraquarks is derived and solved numerically to obtain the corresponding mass spectra and wave functions of the tetraquarks with JPC=0++, 1+-, and 2++. Our results show that the three ground states of ccc¯c¯ locate in the mass range of 6.4–6.5 GeV, and the bbb¯b¯ states in mass range of 19.2–19.3 GeV. The obtained relativistic wave functions naturally include the mixing effects from the possible D (or G) partial waves, and then can be further used to do precise calculations of the tetraquark decays. Based on the obtained results, the LHCb’s observation X(6900) is less likely to be the ground states of compact ccc¯c¯ tetraquarks but might be the first or second excited states. In addition, a widely used propagatorlike form factor is also investigated and discussed.

Analysis of the $X(4475)$, $X(4500)$, $Z_{\bar{c}\bar{s}}(4600)$ and related tetraquark states with the QCD sum rules

Abstract:In this work, we introduce explicit P-waves to construct the diquark operators, then construct the local four-quark currents to explore the hidden-charm tetraquark states with the $J^{PC}=0^{++}$, $1^{+-}$ and $2^{++}$ in the framework of the QCD sum rules at length. Our calculations indicate tiny light-flavor $SU(3)$ breaking effects on the tetraquark masses due to the special currents and the predictions support assigning the $X(4775)$ and $X(4500)$ as the $[uc]_{\widehat{V}}[\overline{uc}]_{\widehat{V}}-[dc]_{\widehat{V}}[\overline{dc}]_{\widehat{V}}$ and $[sc]_{\widehat{V}}[\overline{sc}]_{\widehat{V}}$ tetraquark states with the $J^{PC}=0^{++}$ respectively, and assigning the $Z_{c}(4600)$ and $Z_{\bar{c}\bar{s}}(4600)$ as the $[uc]_{\widehat{V}}[\overline{dc}]_{\widehat{V}}$ and $[qc]_{\widehat{V}}[\overline{sc}]_{\widehat{V}}$ tetraquark states with the $J^{PC}=1^{+-}$ respectively, and thus account for the LHCb's data.

Triply Heavy QQQ¯q¯ Tetraquark States

Abstract:Within the framework of QCD sum rules, we have investigated the tetraquark states with three heavy quarks. We systematically construct the interpolating currents for the possible cc (c) over bar(q) over bar, cc (b) over bar(q) over bar, bc (b) over bar(q) over bar, bb (b) over bar(q) over bar tetraquark states with quantum numbers J(P) = 0(+) and J(P) = 1(+). Using these interpolating currents, we have calculated the two-point correlation functions and extracted the mass spectra for the above tetraquark states. We also discuss the decay patterns of these tetraquarks, and notice that the cc (c) over bar(q) over bar, cc (b) over bar(q) over bar, bc (b) over bar(q) over bar may decay quickly with a narrow width due to their mass spectra. The bb (b) over bar(q) over bar tetraquarks are expected to be very narrow resonances since their OZI (Okubo-Zweig-Iizuka)-allowed decay modes are kinematically forbidden. These states may be searched for in the final states with a B meson plus a light meson or photon.
Investigation of the analog of the $P_{c}$ states-the doubly charmed molecular pentaquarks

Abstract:Motivated by the LHCb Collaboration's observation of a doubly charmed tetraquark state $T_{cc}(3875)$, we systematically investigate the existence of doubly charmed pentaquark states using the resonating group method based on the QDCSM framework. The effective potential of the two involved hadrons and the bound state dynamics are included in the present work. Moreover, we have also calculated the scattering phase shifts of open channels by channel coupling to look for possible resonance states. Our estimations indicate that there is a bound state in $I(J^{P})=\frac{3}{2}(\frac{5}{2}^{-})$, with a mass of $4461.7$ MeV. Additionally, five resonance states can be obtained by coupling the open channel, which are $\Xi_{cc}\rho$ and $\Sigma_{c}D^{\ast}$ with $I(J^{P})=\frac{1}{2}(\frac{1}{2}^{-})$, $\Lambda_{c}D^{\ast}$ and $\Sigma_{c}D^{\ast}$ with $I(J^{P})=\frac{1}{2}(\frac{3}{2}^{-})$ and $\Sigma_{c}D^{\ast}$ with $I(J^{P})=\frac{3}{2}(\frac{1}{2}^{-})$respectively. The existence of these predicted doubly charmed pentaquark states needs to be supported by experimental measurements and discoveries. We hope that some experiments can find evidence of these states.
