Abstract:Padovan sequence is a ternary recurrent sequence defined by the recurrence relation $P_{n+3}=P_{n+1}+P_{n}$ with initial terms $P_{0}=P_{1}=P_{2}=1.$ In this study it is shown that $114,151,200,265,351,465,616,816,3329,4410,7739,922111$ are the only Padovan numbers which are concatenations of three repdigits.

We find that all positive integer solutions to the Diophantine equation where m , n , k are nonnegative integers and d is the number of digits of are . Abstract:Let $ (P_n)_{n\ge 0}$ be the sequence of Perrin numbers defined by ternary relation $ P_0=3 $, $ P_1=0 $, $ P_2=2 $, and $ P_{n+3}=P_{n+1}+P_n $ for all $ n\ge 0 $. In this paper, we use Baker's theory for nonzero linear forms in logarithms of algebraic numbers and the reduction procedure involving the theory of continued fractions, to explicitly determine all Perrin numbers that are concatenations of two distinct repeated digit numbers.

Abstract:In this study, we focus on finding the Pell and Pell-Lucas numbers which are concatenations of three repdigits. We show that these numbers are 169, 408, 985 and 198, 478, 1154, respectively. We use a lemma that provides a large upper bound for the subscript n in the equations and Baker’s theory of lower bounds for a nonzero linear form in logarithms of algebraic numbers. In addition, continued fraction expansions of some irrational numbers were calculated to show that some inequalities have no solution.

Abstract:Let $(P_n)_{n\ge 0}$ and $(Q_n )_{n\ge 0}$ be the Pell and Pell-Lucas sequences. Let $b$ be a positive integer such that $b\ge 2.$ In this paper, we prove that the following two Diophantine equations $P_{n}=b^{d}P_{m}+Q_{k}$ and $P_{n}=b^{d}Q_{m}+P_{k}$ with $d,$ the number of digits of $P_k$ or $Q_k$ in base $b,$ have only finitely many solutions in nonegative integers $(m, n, k, b, d)$. Also, we explicitly determine these solutions in cases $2 \le b \le 10.$

Abstract:Let be Narayana's cows sequence given by a recurrence relation for all , with initial conditions , and . In this paper, we find all members in Narayana's cows sequence that are palindromic concatenations of two distinct repdigits. Our proofs use techniques on Diophantine approximation which include the theory of linear forms in logarithms of algebraic numbers and Baker's reduction method. We show that 595 is the only member in Narayana's cow sequence that is a palindromic concatenation of two distinct repdigits in base 10.

Abstract:Let $ (N_n)_{n\ge 0}$ be the Narayana's cow sequence defined by a third-order recurrence relation $ N_0=0,\ N_1= N_2=1 $, and $ N_{n+3}=N_{n+2}+N_n $ for all $ n\ge 0 $. In this paper, we determine all Narayana numbers that are concatenations of two repdigits. The proof of our main theorem uses lower bounds for linear forms in logarithms and a version of the Baker-Davenport reduction method in Diophantine approximation.

Abstract:Let $ \{P_{n}\}_{n\geq 0} $ be the sequence of Pell numbers defined by $ P_0=0 $, $ P_1 =1$ and $ P_{n+2}= 2P_{n+1} +P_n$ for all $ n\geq 0 $ and let $ \{Q_{n}\}_{n\geq 0} $ be its companion sequence, the Pell-Lucas numbers defined by $ Q_0=Q_1 =2$ and $ Q_{n+2}= 2Q_{n+1} +Q_n$ for all $ n\geq 0 $ . In this paper, we find all Pell and Pell-Lucas numbers which can be written as difference of two repdigits. It is shown that the largest Pell and Pell-Lucas numbers which can be written as difference of two repdigits are $$P_6=70= 77-7 \quad\quad \hbox{and} \quad\quad Q_7 = 478=555-77.$$

Abstract:Padovan numbers and Perrin numbers belong to the family of numbers of the Fibonacci type and they are well described in the literature. In this paper, by studying independent (1,2)-dominating sets in paths and cycles, we obtain new binomial formulas for Padovan and Perrin numbers. As a consequence of graph interpretation, we propose a new dependence between Padovan and Perrin numbers. By studying special independent (1,2)-dominating sets in a composition of two graphs, we define Padovan polynomials of graphs. By the fact that every independent (1,2)-dominating set includes the set of leaves as a subset, in some cases a symmetric structure of the independent (1,2)-dominating set can be used.

Abstract:In this paper, we explore the relationship between repdigits and associated Pell numbers, specifically focusing on two main aspects: expressing repdigits as the difference of two associated Pell numbers, and identifying which associated Pell numbers can be represented as the difference of two repdigits. Additionally, we investigate all associated Pell numbers which are concatenation of three repdigits. Our proof utilizes Baker's theory on linear forms in logarithms of algebraic numbers, along with the Baker-Davenport reduction technique. The computations were carried out with the help of a simple computer program in {\it Mathematica}.

Abstract:Zhao established a curious congruence, i.e., for any prime p≥3,∑i+j+k=pi,j,k>01ijk≡−2Bp−3(modp). In this note we prove that for any prime p≥3 and positive integer r,∑i+j+k=pri,j,k∈Pp1ijk≡−2pr−1Bp−3(modpr), where Pn denotes the set of positive integers which are prime to n.

Abstract:Let $\left(u(n)\right)_{n\in\mathbb{N}}$ be an arithmetic progression of natural integers in base $b\in\mathbb{N}\setminus \{0,1\}$. We consider the following sequences: $s(n)=\overline{u(0)u(1)\cdots u(n) }^b$ formed by concatenating the first $n+1$ terms of $\left(u(n)\right)_{n\in\mathbb{N}}$ in base $b$ from the right; $s_r(n) = \overline{u(n)u(n-1)\cdots u(0)}^b$; and $\left(s_*(n)\right)_{n\in\mathbb{N}}$, given by $s_*(0)=u(0)$, $s_*(n)=\overline{s_r(n-1)s(n)}^b, n\geq 1$. We construct explicit formulas for these sequences and use basic concepts of linear difference operators to prove they are not P-recursive (holonomic). We also present an alternative proof that follows directly from their definitions. We implemented $\left(s(n)\right)_{n\in\mathbb{N}}$ and $\left(s_r(n)\right)_{n\in\mathbb{N}}$ in the decimal base when $(u(n))_{n\in\mathbb{N}}=\mathbb{N}\setminus \{0\}$.

Abstract:The nth Delannoy number and the nth Schröder number given byDn=∑k=0n(nk)(n+kk)andSn=∑k=0n(nk)(n+kk)1k+1 respectively arise naturally from enumerative combinatorics. Let p be an odd prime. We mainly show that∑k=1p−1Dkk2≡2(−1p)Ep−3(modp) and∑k=1p−1Skmk≡m2−6m+12m(1−(m2−6m+1p))(modp), where (−) is the Legendre symbol, E0,E1,E2,… are Euler numbers, and m is any integer not divisible by p. Multiplicative largeness of $\textit{de Polignac numbers}$

Abstract:A number $m$ is said to be a $\textit{de Polignac number}$, if infinitely many pairs of consecutive primes exist, such that $m$ can be written as the difference of those consecutive prime numbers. Recently in [ W. D. Banks: Consecutive primes and IP sets, <a class="link-https" data-arxiv-id="2403.10637" href="https://arxiv.org/abs/2403.10637">arXiv:2403.10637</a>.], using arguments from the Ramsey theory, W. D. Banks proved that the collection of $\textit{de Polignac number}$ is an $IP^\star$ set (Though his original statement is relatively weaker, an iterative application of pigeonhole principle/ theory of ultrafilters shows that this statement is sufficient to conclude the set is $IP^\star$). As a consequence, we have this collection as an additively syndetic set. In this article, we show that this collection is also a multiplicative syndetic set. In our proof, we use combinatorial arguments and the tools from the algebra of the Stone-Čech compactification of discrete semigroups (for details see [N. Hindman, and D. Strauss: Algebra in the Stone-Čech Compactification: Theory and Applications, second edition, de Gruyter, Berlin,2012.]).
