Abstract:Research work and application of surfactant lyotropic liquid crystals were developed quickly in recent years.The current progress on the research work with respect to lyotropic liquid crystal was introduced.Particularly the formation process,structural features,physical properties as well as the method for the study of liquid crystal were summarized comprehensively.Various methods such as small-angle X-ray diffraction,2HNMR spectra,Raman spectra,polarizing texture and rheometer et al were used to identify the type of liquid crystals.The results of above methods complement each other and can be used to distinguish the types of lyotropic liquid crystal exactly.The applications of the lyotropic liquid crystal such as in lubricants,template for preparation of porous materials and nanostructured particles,as well as the applications in enhanced crude oil recovery were presented.

Abstract:In this brief review, we have discussed various physical chemical principles that guide the functions of surfactants in solution. The surfactants have special functions at the air/liquid and air/solid interfaces forming Gibbs and Langmuir monomolecular films by way of spreading at the interfaces. Their self‐aggregation or micelle formation, a remarkable and useful phenomenon has been presented and elaborated. The application of fundamental physical chemistry principles for the understanding of the energetics of the micelle formation has been discussed. The involvement of surfactants in the formation of soft assembled (condensed) matters namely, vesicles, emulsions, foams, reverse micelles (or, microemulsions), gels, and so forth has been presented. The uniqueness of the "critical micelle concentration" (CMC), and its determination have been briefly presented. Applications of surfactants are numerous. We have briefly cited several applications namely, nano‐material synthesis, detergency, agrochemical formulations, drug delivery, retardation of water evaporation, and so forth. A short account of bio‐related surfactants namely, lung surfactants, bile salts, plant‐and microbe‐generated bio‐surfactants, and their utilities have been also presented.

Abstract:Heterogeneous systems containing ionic liquids (ILs) with gases and solvents extend the acpplications of ILs in absorption, extraction and heterogeneous catalysis. In recent years, the surface/interfacial properties and surface/interfacial structures of ionic liquids have been widely studied, because they are important due to their remarkable effects on heterogeneous reactions and separation efficiency. In this article, the surface/interfacial tension, as well as the surface/interfacial structures of ILs and their mixtures with water and organic solvents are summarized. The research methods, objectives and results are introduced. The relationship between surface/interfacial tension and surface/interfacial structures is elucidated. Finally, the exiting problems and development prospects of the studies on surface/interfacial properties and surface/interfacial structures of ILs are discussed.

Abstract:Methods for synthesis of reactive quaternary ammonium salt surfactants were systematically summarized. According to the features of molecular structure,various types of reactive quaternary ammonium salt surfactant were classified and compared. Methods for synthesis of several types of reactive quaternary ammonium salt cationic surfactants with specific functional groups( double bond,epoxy,hydroxy and amide) were introduced. Industrial applications of the surfactants,such as corrosion inhibiting and anti- scaling agent, solubilizing and sensitizing agent,co- polymerizable emulsifier,clay stabilizer,sheet softener as well as phase transfer catalyst were expounded. Currently existing deficiencies of the reactive quaternary ammonium salt surfactants and the development trend was prospected.

Abstract:The recent progress in QSAR/QSPR studies of surfactants and the applications of various structure descriptors has been reviewed. A quantitative structure-property relationship studie on the critical micelle concentration (cmc) of surfactants and the surface tension with charged partial surface area (CPSA) descriptors has been introduced. The charge distribution in ionic surfactants by quantum-chemical calculation and the structure-property of the colloid, which influences properties of surfactant, has also been introduced. The trend of QSAR/QSPR studies on some other properties of surfactants has been discussed.

Abstract:Preparation of a variety of surfactant composition of the liquid detergent,and then the compound surfactant carried out a series of discussions and research,and to join different liquid detergent additive after the study.In polarized light microscopy to identify the region and to make liquid crystal phase of its plans.By comparison of different plans,and to optimize the detergency as a standard to determine the optimization of liquid detergent formulations.Washing their experimental results,viscosity,stability and performance of the bubble,pH value,and other properties were analyzed.The results showed that: the proportion of LAS: AEO-9 = 3:2,the product appearance of transparency,good stability,Strong detergency.The experiment to optimize the prescription.
