Abstract:INTRODUCTION:Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is one of the most prevalent diseases during pregnancy, which is closely associated with many short-term and long-term maternal and neonatal complications and can incur heavy financial burden on both families and society. Web-based interventions have been used to manage GDM because of the advantages of high accessibility and flexibility, but their effectiveness has remained inconclusive. This systematic review and meta-analysis aims to comprehensively investigate the multidimensional effectiveness of web-based interventions for pregnant women with GDM, thereby aiding implementation decisions in clinical settings. METHODS AND ANALYSIS:This systematic review protocol strictly adheres to the Preferred Reporting Items for Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis Protocols guidelines. Six electronic databases (PubMed, Web of Science, Cochrane Central Register of Controlled Trials, Embase, CINAHL and PsycINFO) will be comprehensively searched from their inception to 26 January 2022 to identify randomised controlled trials and controlled clinical trials regarding the efficacy of web-based interventions for pregnant women with GDM on glycaemic control, behavioural outcomes, cognitive and attitudinal outcomes, mental health, maternal and neonatal clinical outcomes, and medical service utilisation and costs. Two reviewers will independently conduct the study selection, data extraction and quality assessment. The methodological quality of included studies will be assessed using the Effective Public Health Practice Project assessment tool. The overall meta-analyses for each of the interested outcomes will be performed if the outcome data are sufficient and provides similar effect measures, as well as subgroup analyses for glycaemic control indicators based on the different types of intervention format, interactivity and technology. We will conduct a qualitative synthesis for studies that cannot be quantitatively synthesised. ETHICS AND DISSEMINATION:Ethics approval is not required for this review as no human participants will be involved. Exercise Intervention Improves Blood Glucose Levels and Adverse Pregnancy Outcomes in GDM Patients: A Meta-Analysis

Abstract:Objective. The objective of this study is to systematically evaluate the effect of exercise on gestational diabetes (GDM). Methods. The databases of PubMed, Cochrane Library, Web of Science, Embase, CNKI, VIP, and Wanfang were searched to collect publications regarding physical exercises and GDM. The two researchers screened the literature, extracted the data, and analyzed the risk of bias of the included data using RevMan 5.3 software. The primary outcomes analyzed included the fasting blood glucose, 2-h postprandial blood glucose, glycosylated hemoglobin, premature delivery, cesarean section, neonatal macrosomia, premature rupture of membranes, and neonatal hypoglycemia. Results. A total of 9 studies with 1289 GDM patients were included. Compared with the control group, exercise could significantly reduce the 2-h postprandial blood glucose ( MD = − 0.62 , 95% CI (-0.91 to -0.34), Z = 4.29 , P < 0.0001 ), improve HbA1c( RR = − 0.47 , 95% CI (-0.81 to -0.13), Z = 2.69 , P = 0.007 ), reduce the cesarean section rate ( RR = 0.83 , 95% CI (0.71-0.98), Z = 2.25 , P = 0.02 ), and decrease the incidence of neonatal macrosomia in GDM patients ( RR = 0.57 , 95% CI (0.34-0.95), Z = 2.17 , P = 0.03 ). Conclusion. Exercise intervention can improve the blood glucose level of GDM patients, such as 2-h postprandial blood glucose and HbA1c. Meanwhile, exercise can also reduce adverse pregnancy outcomes, such as premature birth and macrosomia. Therefore, prescribing exercise to GDM patients can effectively manage GDM and improve adverse pregnancy outcomes.

[Cerebral sonography in children and adolescents with acquired skull defects].

Abstract:16 patients between 20 months and 21 years of age with acquired defects of the calvarium were examined by static and real time sonography. The first cerebral sonogram of every patient was compared with his CCT scans. There was no difference between sonographic and CCT-examination results in 8 patients. Additional diagnostic information was found in two sonographic and 6 CCT examinations when compared with each other. In large defects, detailed echographic visualization of normal and pathological anatomy was possible, resulting in prompt diagnosis of tumor recurrence. If cerebral sonography is compared with CCT, there are several advantages of sonography lack of preparation: no transport of severely ill patients, no contrast application, low cost. These advantages makes cerebral echography especially suitable for close follow up of tumor therapy and patients of intensive care units.

Abstract:Objective. To evaluate the effect of targeted care plus exercise intervention on blood glucose levels and maternal and newborn outcomes in patients with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). Methods. A total of 96 patients with GDM admitted to our hospital between March 2018 and January 2020 were recruited and assigned to receive either routine nursing (routine group) or targeted care plus exercise intervention (study group) via random method, with 48 patients in each group. Outcome measures included blood glucose, immune function, maternal and newborn outcome, and nursing satisfaction. Results. The patients in the study group had significantly lower amniotic fluid index (AFI), weight at delivery, body mass index (BMI), and weight gain during pregnancy than patients in the routine group (). There was no statistically significant difference in blood glucose between the two groups of patients before the intervention (). Targeted care plus exercise intervention resulted in significantly lower levels of fasting blood glucose (FBG), 2 h postprandial blood glucose (2hPBG), and blood glucose before bed versus routine care (). The patients with targeted care plus exercise intervention had higher immunoglobulin G (IgG) and IgM levels; higher CD3+, CD4+, and CD8+ levels; and lower lgA levels versus those with routine care (). Targeted care plus exercise intervention was associated with a lower incidence of negative pregnancy outcomes and a higher satisfaction versus routine care ().Conclusion. Targeted treatment plus exercise intervention efficiently controls blood glucose levels in GDM patients, improves immunological function, lowers the risk of pregnancy problems, improves pregnancy outcomes, and promotes patient satisfaction, indicating a high potential for therapeutic development. Targeted treatment combined with exercise intervention is encouraged following effective pharmacological interventions to facilitate recovery.

Abstract:Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the effects of multidimensional quantitative exercise management on self-efficacy, blood glucose control, and delivery outcomes in pregnant women with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). Methods: A randomized controlled trial was conducted with 150 pregnant women diagnosed with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). Participants were randomly assigned to either the experimental group (Exp), which received a multidimensional quantitative exercise management intervention, or the control group (Con), which received standard GDM management. Results were compared between the groups included self-efficacy scores, blood glucose levels, and delivery outcomes. Results: Exp group of pregnant women exhibited drastically superior self-efficacy scores as well as more stable blood glucose levels during pregnancy relative to Con group (P < 0.05). Moreover, visual analogue scale (VAS) of pregnant women and Apgar scores of infants in Exp group were considerably better than those in Con group (P < 0.05). In contrast to Con group, pregnant women in Exp group had considerably better labor outcomes along neonatal complication rates (P < 0.05). Conclusion: Multidimensional quantitative exercise management had a positive impact on pregnant women with GDM. This intervention method can improve self-efficacy levels along better blood glucose control, and enhance delivery outcomes. These findings suggested that multidimensional quantitative exercise management has potential clinical value in the management of GDM, providing an effective management strategy to improve the health conditions of both pregnant women and infants.

Abstract:Inadequate management of blood glucose levels in gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) poses risks for both pregnant women and the developing fetus. Attaining appropriate blood glucose control is crucial to mitigate potential adverse outcomes. This study aimed to consolidate the latest guidelines from representative professional societies, providing insights into exercise therapy for GDM patients and suggesting potential avenues for future research. The review was conducted with up-to-date exercise guidelines from prominent societies, such as the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG), the Society of Obstetricians and Gynecologists of Canada (SOGC), the Canadian Society for Exercise Physiology (CSEP), the American College of Sports Medicine, the American Diabetes Association (ADA), and the Korean Diabetes Association. The ACOG and SOGC/CSEP recommend 150 min of low to moderate intensity exercise, 3–4 times a week, combining aerobic and resistance exercises. All guidelines advise against activities involving sudden directional changes, physical contact, a risk of falling, and exercises performed lying down. Despite cautions from the ADA and ACOG on blood glucose fluctuations during physical activity, the lack of specific methods and recommendations from other societies reveals a notable gap in evidence-based guidelines for GDM. For effective and safe blood glucose management in GDM patients, further research should be conducted on the exercise-related precautions outlined for GDM patients. Establishing ample evidence would facilitate the development of customized exercise guidelines for GDM patients.

Abstract:Aims To synthesize the available evidence to better understand the effectiveness of interventions to prevent or delay hyperglycaemia and Type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) postnatally in women with current or previous gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). Methods We searched five databases up to December 2020 for primary peer‐reviewed articles reporting postpartum glycaemic outcomes in women with (previous) GDM following pharmacological or lifestyle intervention. Outcomes were relative risk of T2DM or continuous measures of glycaemia, change or at follow‐up. A minimum of two studies evaluating the same intervention‐outcome combination were needed to conduct meta‐analyses, otherwise studies were described narratively. Meta‐regression was used to evaluate whether associations varied by additional variables. We assessed risk of bias using the Critical Appraisal Skills Programme checklist. PROSPERO record CRD42018102380. Results We included 31 studies in the review with a total sample size of 8624 participants, and 26 studies in meta‐analyses. Two‐thirds of studies followed up participants at 1 year or less. Pharmacological interventions were associated with reduced risk of T2DM (0.80 [95% CI 0.64–1.00], n = 6 studies), as were lifestyle interventions albeit with a smaller effect size (0.88 [95% CI 0.76–1.01], n = 12 studies). Dietary and physical activity interventions were associated with a small reduction in fasting plasma glucose, particularly in longer interventions, but inconsistent effects were seen for other continuous outcomes. Conclusions Although possibly due to chance, interventions to reduce hyperglycaemia after GDM may be effective. Future research should improve understanding of how interventions affect glucose control and how to optimise interventions for this population.

Application of diversified and quantitative management model of exercise intervention in patients with gestational diabetes mellitus

Abstract:Objective: The study aims to explore the application of diversified and quantitative management model of exercise intervention in patients with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). Methods: From January 2018 to July 2018, 150 pregnant women with GDM were recruited from HangZhou Maternity Hospital, and were randomly divided into control group (n = 75) and experimental group (n = 75). All patients were registered pregnancy exercise self-efficacy scale (P-ESES), fasting blood glucose (FBG), and 2-hour postpranational blood glucose (2hPG). Patients in control group received conventional sports, while patients in experimental group added multiple quantitative exercise intervention management mode until delivery (accumulated at least 30 min per day, the time of not less than 150 min per week). After 4 weeks of intervention, patients in both groups were measured P-ESES, FBG, and 2hPG levels. Results: A total of 12 patients dropped out of the study, was lost to follow-up or was admitted to another hospital; therefore, 138 cases (68 vs. 70) were included in analysis. There was no significant difference of P-ESES, FBG, and 2hPG of patients in baseline. After four weeks intervention, compared with the control group, the P-ESES score was significantly increased (p<.05), the overcoming movement disorder, overcoming emotional disorder, and overcoming support disorder scores were significantly improved (p<.05), and the levels of FBG and 2hPG were significantly decreased (p<.05) in experimental group. Finally, the coincidence rate of weight gain during pregnancy was increased, the rate of macrosomia delivery and cesarean section were decreased in experimental group (p<.05). Conclusion: Quantitative management model of multiform exercise therapy improved patients with GDM.

Abstract:Background During pregnancy, gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM)is a common complication. Although some exercise programs have been recommended clinically, many pregnant women have low exercise compliance, making it difficult to effectively control blood sugar. Therefore, this study constructed an exercise intervention plan based on self-efficacy theory and explored the effect of the program on blood glucose and pregnancy outcomes in patients with gestational diabetes mellitus. Methods A randomized controlled trial was conducted. A usual exercise program was implemented for the participants in the control group, and the participants in the intervention group received an exercise program on the basis of the control group and combined with the self-efficacy theory. Participants were assessed based on exercise self-efficacy, blood glucose, weight gain, exercise compliance, and pregnancy outcomes at week 4, week 8 and week 12. Results One hundred three gestational diabetes mellitus patients were recruited at baseline, 53 in the intervention group and 50 in the control group. After the intervention, the exercise self-efficacy score and exercise compliance of the intervention group were higher than those of the control group (P<0.05). Fasting blood glucose, 2-h post-prandial plasma glucose, weight gain during the intervention period, incidence of neonatal hypoglycemia, and incidence of gestational hypertension were lower than those in the control group (P<0.05). Conclusion Implementing an exercise intervention based on self-efficacy theory for gestational diabetes mellitus patients can improve exercise self-efficacy and exercise compliance, effectively control blood glucose and weight gain, improve pregnancy outcomes, and promote maternal and infant safety. Abstract:In islanded microgrid scheme, optimal scheduling of energy storage system (ESS), and effective coordination between local resources are crucial and challenging optimization tasks. Demand management tools such as flexible load management have a significant influence on the optimal scheduling of ESS in islanded microgrid applications. This paper presents an optimization model to investigate the impact of aggregated electric vehicles (EVs) charging stations as a flexible load on the optimal scheduling of energy storage for islanded microgrid applications. Mixed Integer Linear Programming (MILP) is used to formulate the proposed optimization model and solved using CPLEX tool. Numerical simulations demonstrated the effectiveness of the conducted study.
The efficacy of interventions to prevent type 2 diabetes among women with recent gestational diabetes mellitus-A living systematic review and meta-analysis

Abstract:Background: While previously considered a transient condition, with no lasting adverse impact, gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is now a well-established risk factor for developing type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM). The risk of developing T2DM appears to be particularly high in the first few years after childbirth, providing a compelling case for early intervention. This review provides an up-to-date systematic review and meta-analysis to assess the effectiveness of interventions to reduce incidence of T2DM in women with a recent history of GDM. Methods: The search was conducted on October 20, 2023 with an annual surveillance planned for the next 5 years to maintain a living systematic review. The inclusion criteria were randomized controlled trials of any type in women within 5 years of GDM-complicated pregnancy that reported outcomes of T2DM diagnosis or measures of dysglycemia with a follow-up of at least 12 months. Results: Seventeen studies met our inclusion criteria and have been included in this review. There were 3 pharmacological and 14 lifestyle interventions. Intervention was not associated with significant reduction in the primary outcome of T2DM (risk ratio, 0.78; 95% confidence interval [CI]: 0.43-1.41; p = 0.41; I2 = 79%) compared with the control group (placebo or usual care). However, meta-analysis of the four studies reporting hazard ratios suggested a reduction in diabetes incidence (hazard ratio, 0.68; 95% CI: 0.48-0.97; p = 0.03; I2 = 31%). Conclusion: This review provides equivocal evidence about the efficacy of interventions to reduce the risk of T2DM in women within 5 years of GDM-complicated pregnancy and highlights the need for further studies, including pharmacotherapy.
Improving the Effectiveness of Lifestyle Interventions for Gestational Diabetes Prevention: a Meta‐analysis and Meta‐regression

Abstract:Diet and exercise during pregnancy have been used to prevent gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) with some success.To examine the effectiveness of lifestyle intervention on GDM prevention and to identify key effectiveness moderators to improve the prevention strategy.Pubmed, Scopus, Cochrane, and cross-references were searched.Randomised controlled trials (RCTs) evaluating lifestyle interventions during pregnancy for GDM prevention.Two independent reviewers extracted data. A random-effects model was used to analyse the relative risk (RR) and 95% confidence interval (95% CI). Meta-regressions and subgroup analyses were used to investigate important moderators of effectiveness.Forty-seven RCTs involving 15 745 participants showed that diet and exercise during pregnancy were preventive of GDM (RR 0.77, 95% CI 0.69-0.87). Four key aspects were identified to improve the preventive effect: targeting the high-risk population; an early initiation of the intervention; the correct intensity and frequency of exercise; and gestational weight gain management. Although 24 RCTs targeted women who were overweight or obese, body mass index (BMI) failed to predict the effectiveness of an intervention. Instead, interventions are most effective in high-incidence populations rather than simply in women who are overweight or obese. Furthermore, exercise of moderate intensity for 50-60 minutes twice a week could lead to an approximately 24% reduction in GDM.The best strategy to prevent GDM is to target the high-risk population predicted by risk evaluation models and to control the gestational weight gain of women through intensified diet and exercise modifications early in their pregnancy.Four key effectiveness moderators of lifestyle interventions for GDM prevention.

Abstract:Introduction To investigate the effects of structured moderate-intensity aerobic exercise on blood glucose, insulin, and pregnancy outcomes in patients with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). Methods One hundred one patients with GDM were randomly divided into a control group (50 cases) and an experimental group (51 cases) in a class 3 first-level general hospital. GDM patients in the control group received a personalized diabetes diet intervention, online education, and routine prenatal care. The experimental group added 6 weeks of moderate-intensity aerobic exercise in addition to the identical conditions given to the control group. The differences of fasting and 2-h postprandial blood glucose, insulin use, and adverse pregnancy outcomes were evaluated between the experimental and control group after intervention. Results Outcomes were available from 89 participants. Compared with before intervention, there were statistically significant differences in fasting blood glucose and 2-h blood glucose after three meals in both groups ( P < 0.05). There were statistically significant differences in the average fasting blood glucose, the average 2-h postprandial blood glucose, the insulin dosage, and the utilization rate between the experimental and control group after the intervention ( P < 0.05). Parameters in the experimental group were all lower than in the control group. Compared with the control group, the incidence of adverse pregnancy outcomes in the experimental group after intervention was not statistically significant ( P > 0.05). Conclusion Moderate-intensity aerobic exercise can help improve blood glucose control and insulin use in patients with GDM. In the future, long-term follow-up can be conducted for maternal and neonatal infants to evaluate the impact of exercise intervention on the risk of type 2 diabetes. Abstract:Gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) is a common complication in pregnancy that is associated with a higher risk of adverse health outcomes for mothers and offspring, not only during the perinatal phase but also in the long term, well into future generations. Abstract:Diabetes disrupts one in six pregnancies, bestowing immediate and long-term health risks to mother and child. Diet and exercise are commonly prescribed to control dysglycemia, but their effectiveness across sub-populations and types of diabetes (type-1; type-2; or gestational diabetes mellitus, GDM) is uncertain. Therefore, a systematic review and meta-analysis on the effect of diet and/or exercise on glycemia in pregnant women with diabetes was conducted. Random effects models were used to evaluate effect sizes across studies and anticipated confounders (e.g., age, ethnicity, BMI). Of the 4845 records retrieved, 26 studies (8 nutritional supplements, 12 dietary, and 6 exercise interventions) were included. All studies were conducted in patients with GDM. Overall, supplement- and exercise-based interventions reduced fasting glucose (−0.30 mmol/L; 95% CI = −0.55, −0.06; p = 0.02; and 0.10 mmol/L; 95% CI = −0.20, −0.01; p = 0.04); and supplement- and diet-based interventions reduced HOMA-IR (−0.40; 95% CI = −0.58, −0.22; p < 0.001; and −1.15; 95% CI = −2.12, −0.17; p = 0.02). Subgroup analysis by confounders only confirmed marginal changed effect sizes. Our results suggest a favorable role of certain nutritional supplements, diet, and exercise practices on glycemia in women with GDM and underline a lack of evidence in ~20% of other diabetes-related pregnancies (i.e., women with pre-existing diabetes).

Effects of resistance exercise on blood glucose level and pregnancy outcome in patients with gestational diabetes mellitus: a randomized controlled trial

Abstract:Introduction To date, the effects of resistance exercise on diabetes-related parameters (blood glucose level and insulin use) and pregnancy outcome in participants with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) have not been compared with those of aerobic exercise. To investigate the effect of resistance exercise versus aerobic exercise on blood glucose level, insulin utilization rate, and pregnancy outcome in patients with GDM. Research design and methods From December 2019 to December 2020, 100 pregnant women with GDM were selected and divided into a resistance exercise group (49 patients) and an aerobic exercise group (51 patients) randomly. The aerobic exercise group received an aerobic exercise intervention, while the resistance exercise group received a resistance exercise intervention. Both groups received exercise intervention for 50–60 min, 3 times per week, lasting for 6 weeks. In addition, patients in both groups received the same routine care, including personalized dietary intervention, online education, and school courses for pregnant women. Results The blood glucose level in the resistance exercise group and the aerobic exercise group was lower after the intervention than before the intervention (p 0.05); however, significant differences were noted in 2-hour postprandial blood glucose level and exercise compliance between the two groups (p<0.05), with the resistance exercise group showing better outcomes than the aerobic exercise group. Conclusions Resistance exercise is more compliant for pregnant women with GDM than aerobic exercise; hence, it is necessary to popularize resistance exercise in this specific population group. Long-term effects of resistance exercise should be evaluated in future studies. Trial registration number ChiCTR 1900027929.

Progression to Type 2 Diabetes Mellitus after Gestational Diabetes Mellitus Diagnosed by IADPSG Criteria: Systematic Review and Meta-Analysis

Abstract:Background:To estimate the progression rates to type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) in women with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM) diagnosed by the International Association of Diabetes and Pregnancy Study Group (IADPSG) criteria. Methods:Systematic review and meta-analysis were conducted by searching Medline, Embase, and Cochrane between January 1, 2010 and December 31, 2021 for observational studies investigating progression to T2DM after GDM. Inclusion criteria were IADPSG-diagnosed GDM, studies with both GDM and controls, postpartum follow-up duration at least one year. Data were pooled by random effects meta-analysis models. Heterogeneity was assessed by I2 statistic. The pooled relative risk for incidence of T2DM and pre-diabetes between GDM participants and controls were estimated. Reasons for heterogeneity among studies were investigated by prespecified subgroup and meta-regression analysis. Publication bias was assessed by the Begg's and Egger's tests. Results:This meta-analysis of six studies assessed a total of 61932 individuals (21978 women with GDM and 39954 controls). Women with IADPSG-diagnosed GDM were 6.43 times (RR=6.43, 95% CI:3.45-11.96) more likely to develop T2DM in the future compared with controls. For GDM women, the cumulative incidence of T2DM was 12.1% (95% CI: 6.9%-17.3%), while the pooled cumulative incidence of T2DM was estimated to be 8% (95% CI: 5-11%) in studies with 1 to 5 years of follow-up and increased to 19% (95% CI: 3-34%) for studies with more than 5 years of follow-up. Women with IADPSG-diagnosed GDM had 3.69 times (RR=3.69, 95% CI:2.70-5.06) higher risk of developing pre-diabetes (including impaired fasting glucose and/or impaired glucose tolerance) than controls. Meta-regression analysis showed that the study effect size was not significantly associated with study design, race, length of follow-up, and maternal age (P>0.05). Overall, the studies had a relatively low risk of bias. Conclusions:Women with IADPSG-diagnosed GDM have higher risk of developing T2DM and pre-diabetes. The risk of T2DM in GDM women are higher with longer follow-up duration. Our results highlight the importance of promoting postpartum screening and keeping health lifestyle as well as pharmacological interventions to delay/prevent the onset of T2DM/pre-diabetes in GDM women. Weight Management during Pregnancy and the Postpartum Period in Women with Gestational Diabetes Mellitus: A Systematic Review and Summary of Current Evidence and Recommendations

Abstract:Background: Weight management during pregnancy and the postpartum period is an important strategy that can be utilized to reduce the risk of short- and long-term complications in women with gestational diabetes mellitus (GDM). We conducted a systematic review to assess and synthesize evidence and recommendations on weight management during pregnancy and the postpartum period in women with GDM to provide evidence-based clinical guidance. Methods: Nine databases and eighteen websites were searched for clinical decisions, guidelines, recommended practices, evidence summaries, expert consensus, and systematic reviews. Results: A total of 12,196 records were retrieved and fifty-five articles were included in the analysis. Sixty-nine pieces of evidence were summarized, sixty-two of which focused on pregnancy, including benefits, target population, weight management goals, principles, weight monitoring, nutrition assessment and counseling, energy intake, carbohydrate intake, protein intake, fat intake, fiber intake, vitamin and mineral intake, water intake, dietary supplements, sugar-sweetened beverages, sweeteners, alcohol, coffee, food safety, meal arrangements, dietary patterns, exercise assessment and counseling, exercise preparation, type of exercise, intensity of exercise, frequency of exercise, duration of exercise, exercise risk prevention, and pregnancy precautions, and seven focused on the postpartum period, including target population, benefits, postpartum weight management goals, postpartum weight monitoring, dietary recommendations, exercise recommendations, and postpartum precautions. Conclusions: Healthcare providers can develop comprehensive pregnancy and postpartum weight management programs for women with GDM based on the sixty-nine pieces of evidence. However, because of the paucity of evidence on postpartum weight management in women with GDM, future guidance documents should focus more on postpartum weight management in women with GDM.
