Abstract:STUDY DESIGN:A retrospective study.OBJECTIVE:To investigate the treatment of odontoid fractures combined with lower cervical spinal injury.SUMMARY OF BACKGROUND DATA:Odontoid fractures combined with a lower cervical spinal injury are rarely reported in the literature and their incidence and characteristics are not well known.METHODS:Seventy-six patients with type II shallow type III odontoid fractures were studied retrospectively. Nine odontoid fractures were found combined with lower cervical spinal injuries; the mean age of patients was 56.8 years. For lower cervical spinal injuries, dislocation was found in 4 patients and disruption of the disc and ligament was found in 5 patients. All patients received surgical management for the odontoid fracture and lower cervical spinal injury in the same operative session. Surgical priority was decided based on neurologic complications, segmental instability, and reducibility of the luxated lower cervical spine. For 3 quadriparetic patients, surgical priority was given to their spinal injuries. For the other 6 patients without neurologic deficits, surgical priority was given to the odontoid fractures in 5 patients because of successful reduction of the dislocation or nondislocation in the lower cervical spine; surgical priority was given to an irreducible lower cervical spine dislocation in the remaining patient.RESULTS:After an average follow-up period of 18 months, there were no complications and all patients showed fusion both in the odontoid fracture and the lower cervical spinal injury. Three patients with a neurologic deficit improved by 1 or 2 grades on the ASIA scale.CONCLUSION:In this series, 9 of 76 (12%) of patients with odontoid fractures also had a lower cervical spinal injury. Surgical stabilization was the choice of treatment as it facilitated early rehabilitation and reduced complications. We propose a new algorithm for treatment according to neurologic complications, segmental instability, and reducibility of the luxated lower cervical spine.

Abstract:Background: Vertebral osteomyelitis (VO) often necessitates surgical intervention due to bone loss-induced spinal instability. Anterior column reconstruction, utilizing expandable vertebral body replacement (VBR) implants, is a recognized approach to restore stability and prevent neurological compromise. Despite various techniques, clinical evidence regarding the safety and efficacy of these implants in VO remains limited. Methods: A retrospective cohort analysis, spanning 2000 to 2020, was conducted on 24 destructive VO cases at a Level 1 orthopedic trauma center. Diagnosis relied on clinical, radiological, and microbiological criteria. Patient demographics, clinical presentation, surgical interventions, and radiological outcomes were assessed. Results: The study included 24 patients (62.5% male; mean age 65.6 ± 35.0 years), with 58% having healthcare-associated infections (HAVO). The mean radiological follow-up was 137.2 ± 161.7 weeks. Surgical intervention significantly improved the bi-segmental kyphotic endplate angle (BKA) postoperatively (mean −1.4° ± 13.6°). However, a noticeable loss of correction was observed over time. The study reported a mortality rate of 1/24. Conclusions: Anterior column reconstruction using expandable VBR effectively improved local spinal alignment in destructive VO. However, the study underscores the necessity for prolonged follow-up and continuous research to refine surgical techniques and postoperative care. Addressing long-term complications and refining surgical approaches will be pivotal as the field progresses.

Abstract:This case report describes the presentation, diagnosis, and surgical management of a 61-year-old female admitted to a tertiary care hospital with a two-month history of neck pain and weakness in all four limbs. Despite the absence of a clear history of trauma, a detailed examination revealed restricted neck flexion, paraspinal muscle spasm, and neurological deficits. Contrast-enhanced MRI indicated vertebral osteomyelitis and discitis at the C5-C6 level, with a suspected infective etiology, possibly tuberculosis spondylitis. The patient underwent anterior cervical decompression, corpectomy of C5-C6, and fusion of C4-C7. Postoperative management included intravenous antibiotics, physiotherapy, and anti-tubercular treatment. The patient exhibited satisfactory recovery, and this case underscores the importance of comprehensive evaluation and prompt intervention in managing complex spinal infections.
Quantifying the Impact of Comorbidities on Outcomes Following Surgery for Osteoporotic Vertebral Compression Fractures

Abstract:Abstract Introduction Studies have shown that osteoporotic patients are more likely to have medical or surgical complications postoperatively. In this study, we determine the predictive value of various comorbidities on the likelihood of postoperative complications, mortality, and 30-day readmission following cement augmentation for osteoporotic vertebral compression fractures (OVCFs). Materials and Methods A retrospective analysis of the American College of Surgeons National Surgery Quality Improvement Project (ACS-NSQIP) database from 2007 to 2014 identified 1979 patients who met inclusion criteria. A multivariate logistic regression analysis was utilized to determine the relationship between various comorbidities and perioperative mortality, postoperative complications, and 30-day readmission rates. Results A history of cerebrovascular accident (CVA), coagulopathy, diminished preoperative functional status, and/or an American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) class > 2 were statistical predictors of postoperative complications. CVA generated the highest odds ratio among these comorbidities (OR = 5.36, p = 0.02 for minor complications; OR = 4.60 p = 0.05 for major complications). Among the 15 comorbidities considered, steroid use (OR =1.81; p = 0.03) and an ASA class > 2 (OR = 14.65; p = 0.01) were the only ones that were correlated with mortality; an ASA class > 2 had a particularly strong effect on the likelihood of mortality (OR = 14.65). Chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (COPD), obesity, significant weight loss, and an ASA class > 2 were correlated with 30-day readmissions. Congestive heart failure (CHF), diabetes, dialysis, hypertension, or smoking was not correlated with adverse postoperative outcomes. Conclusion Of the 15 comorbidities considered in this study, four were statistically associated with increased rates of postoperative complications, two were associated with increased mortality, and four were associated with increased rates of readmission at 30 days. The presence of CHF, diabetes mellitus (DM), hypertension, ascites, renal failure, or smoking were not associated with the adverse outcomes studied. Level of Evidence III.
Non-traumatic complete cervical spine dislocation with severe fixed kyphosis: successful multidisciplinary approach to a challenging case

Abstract:Background: To our knowledge, there is no previous report in the literature of non-traumatic neglected complete cervical spine dislocation characterized by anterior spondyloptosis of C4, extreme head drop, and irreducible cervicothoracic kyphosis. Case presentation: We report the case of a 33-year-old Caucasian man with a 17-year history of severe immune polymyositis and regular physiotherapy who presented with severe non-reducible kyphosis of the cervicothoracic junction and progressive tetraparesia for several weeks after a physiotherapy session. Radiographs, computed tomography, and magnetic resonance imaging revealed a complete dislocation at the C4-C5 level, with C4 spondyloptosis, kyphotic angulation, spinal cord compression, and severe myelopathy. Due to recent worsening of neurological symptoms, an invasive treatment strategy was indicated. The patient's neurological status and spinal deformity greatly complicated the anesthetic and surgical management, which was planned after extensive multidisciplinary discussion and relied on close collaboration between the orthopedic surgeon and the anesthetist. Regarding anesthesia, difficult airway access was expected due to severe cervical angulation, limited mouth opening, and thyromental distance, with high risk of difficult ventilation and intubation. Patient management was further complicated by a theoretical risk of neurogenic shock, motor and sensory deterioration, instability due to position changes during surgery, and postoperative respiratory failure. Regarding surgery, a multistage approach was carefully planned. After a failed attempt at closed reduction, a three-stage surgical procedure was performed to reduce displacement and stabilize the spine, resulting in correct spinal realignment and fixation. Progressive complete neurological recovery was observed. Conclusion: This case illustrates the successful management of a critical situation based on a multidisciplinary collaboration involving radiologists, anesthesiologists, and spine surgeons.
Diagnostic and Management Challenges of Esophageal Rupture with Concomitant Cervical Abscess in Chronic High Cervical Tetraplegia

Abstract:A 65-year-old with a history of spinal cord injury and previous cervical surgery presented with persistent fever despite antibiotic treatment. MRI scans revealed an abscess in the neck extending from C3 to C6, with associated osteomyelitis. After an initial discharge following antibiotic therapy, the patient was readmitted due to recurrent systemic infection symptoms and another abscess. A subsequent endoscopy showed esophageal rupture with protruding cervical fusion metal. Due to operative risks, a percutaneous endoscopic gastrostomy was performed without further infection recurrence. The absence of typical imaging signs of esophageal rupture made diagnosis difficult. The infection spread through the cervical fascia from superficial to deep cervical areas. Esophageal rupture, a rare complication of cervical surgery, presents with varying symptoms depending on its location and was particularly challenging to diagnose in this patient due to high cervical tetraplegia, which masked typical pain responses. Therefore, this case highlights the need to consider esophageal rupture in differential diagnoses for chronic ACDF patients, even when typical symptoms are absent.

Multiple Spinal Epidural Abscesses with Concomitant Multifocal Systemic Abscesses and Multi-joint Septic Arthritis:, A Case Report

Abstract:Introduction: Multiple spinal epidual abscesses with multifocal systemic abscess and multiple joint septic arthritis present with a large infective burden resulting in sepsis, systemic inflammatory dysregulation, and multi-organ failure. This requires pre-operative resuscitation and surgery of greater complexity, longer operative duration, and blood loss, creating challenges to surgical management. Case report: A 69-year-old Chinese female presented with multilevel discrete spinal epidural abscesses along the cervical, thoracic, and lumbar spine, alongside concomitant multifocal systemic abscesses and multiple small joint septic arthritis. She received pre-operative resuscitation to restore organ function, reverse acidosis, and coagulopathy, prior tobefore surgical decompression of selected abscesses and joints under a multidisciplinary team. Remaining sites of infection without significant compression were undrained. The patient recovered well with no residual neurological deficits. Conclusion: Multifocal infections in critically ill patients require a multidisciplinary team for preoperative resuscitation, joint surgical planning, and prioritiszing surgical interventions to prevent excessive surgical stress to the patient.
Gout-Induced Cervical Deformity and Progressive Myelopathy Mimicking Infection Requiring Cervical Reconstruction

Abstract:Background: This study describes a rare case where gout, a condition primarily associated with joint inflammation, initially manifested as a progressive cervical kyphotic deformity, mimicking infection and causing myelopathy. The patient, a previously healthy 56-year-old woman, presented with severe jaw pain and a temporomandibular joint abscess, alongside 2 months of worsening balance and arm/hand tingling. Extensive clinical and radiographic assessments revealed a severe cervical kyphotic deformity with bony erosion at multiple vertebral levels, raising suspicion of an infectious cause of compressive myelopathy. Methods: The patient underwent an urgent staged surgical intervention involving multilevel cervical decompression and fusion, coupled with cervical deformity correction. Results: Post surgery, she received antibiotics for 7 days, during which pathologic analysis unveiled collections of macrophages reacting to urate crystal deposition in a pattern consistent with gouty tophus. This unexpected diagnosis marked a novel case of undiagnosed gout-induced severe cervical deformity presenting with myelopathic symptoms and successfully managed through cervical spine deformity correction. Conclusions: This report underscores the significance of considering gout as a potential cause when encountering unusual spinal pathologies, especially in cases where gout-related symptoms are atypical. The presented 540-degree surgical approach effectively addressed both the cervical deformity and gout-induced myelopathic symptoms. To the best of our knowledge, this study represents the first documented instance of a patient with undiagnosed gout-induced severe cervical deformity successfully treated through cervical spine deformity correction, emphasizing the importance of vigilance and innovative management approaches in such rare clinical scenarios. As of the 2-year follow-up, the patient exhibited significant symptom improvement and overall well-being.

Abstract:Surgical management of complex adult spinal deformities is of high risk, with a substantial risk of operative mortality. Current evidence shows that potential risk and morbidity resulting from surgery for complex spinal deformity may be minimized through risk-factor optimization. The multidisciplinary team care model includes neurosurgeons, orthopaedic surgeons, physiatrists, anesthesiologists, hospitalists, psychologists, physical therapists, specialized physician assistants, and nurses. The multidisciplinary care model mimics previously described integrated care pathways designed to offer a structured means of providing a comprehensive preoperative medical evaluation and evidence-based multimodal perioperative care. The role of each team member is illustrated in the case of a 66-year-old male patient with previous incomplete spinal cord injury, now presenting with Charcot spinal arthropathy and progressive vertebral-body destruction resulting in lumbar kyphosis.

Abstract:Introduction: Osteochondromas are benign bone tumors which occur as solitary lesions or as part of the syndrome multiple hereditary exostoses. While most osteochondromas occur in the appendicular skeleton, they can also occur in the spine. Most lesions are asymptomatic however some may encroach on the spinal cord or the nerve roots causing neurological symptoms. While most patients with osteochondromas undergo laminectomy without fusion, laminectomy with fusion is indicated in appropriately selected cases of spinal decompression. Case presentation: We present a case of a 32-year-old male with history of multiple hereditary exostoses who presented with symptoms of bilateral upper extremity numbness and complaints of gait imbalance and multiple falls. He reported rapid progression of his symptoms during the 10 days before presentation. Computed tomography of the cervical spine revealed a lobulated bony tumor along the inner margin of the cervical 4 lamina. He underwent cervical 3 and 4 laminectomies, partial cervical 2 and 5 laminectomies and cervical 3-5 mass screw placement. Pathology was consistent with osteochondroma. The patient's symptoms had markedly improved at follow-up. Conclusion: According to our literature review, osteochondromas most commonly occur at cervical 2 and cervical 5. We present a case of an osteochondroma at a less common level, cervical 4. While most osteochondromas are addressed with laminectomy without arthrodesis, the decision of whether arthrodesis is necessary should be considered in all patients with osteochondroma as with any cervical decompression.

Abstract:Optimal management paradigms of spinal pathologies in the octogenarian population are controversial given the higher incidence of comorbidities with concern for poor prognosis and fear of increased complications associated with surgical management. In this narrative review, we aim to detail the complex clinical considerations when approaching odontoid screw fixation/instrumented fusion, spinal decompression, and spinal fusion in the octogenarian. Literature review was conducted via Google Scholar and PubMed databases, with literature selected based on statistical power and clinical relevance to the following pathologies/surgical techniques: odontoid fracture, surgical decompression, and surgical fusion in the octogenarian. The aforementioned pathologies were selected based on prevalence in the advanced-age population in which surgical screening techniques and management remain nonuniform. Preoperative evaluation of the octogenarian patient increasingly includes frailty, sarcopenia, and osteopenia/osteoporosis assessments. In cases of odontoid fracture, conservative management appears to provide beneficial clinical outcomes with lower rates of complication compared to surgery; however, rates of radiographic odontoid fusion are far lower in conservatively managed patients. Regarding surgical decompression and fusion, the presence of comorbidities may be more predictive of outcome rather than age status, with the advent of minimally invasive techniques providing safety and efficacy in the surgical management of this age cohort. Age status may be less pertinent than previously thought in the decision to pursue spinal surgery for odontoid fracture, spinal decompression, or spinal fusion; however, each of these procedures has respective risks and benefits that must be considered within the context of each patient's comorbidity profile.

Minimizing Stress Concentrations in the Femoral Heads of Hip Joint Prostheses: Effect of Borehole Shapes

Abstract:This paper presents a stress analysis of the ceramic femoral heads of hip joint prostheses with different borehole shapes to evaluate their mechanical reliability in terms of stress concentration. Under the ideal loading conditions used for ceramic rupture tests specified by the ISO 7206-5 standard, a finite element (FE) modeling is performed to determine the tensile and hoop stress distributions in the ceramic femoral heads. Two borehole shapes that are currently used in the manufacturing industry for hip joint prostheses, namely the flat bottom and keyhole, were first studied. Two new borehole shapes, dome arc and dome ellipse, were then introduced by the authors in the paper to minimize the stress concentration. It was found that while the currently used borehole shapes lead to high tensile notch stresses at their critical corners causing possible fracture failure of ceramic heads, the authors’ borehole designs can improve the mechanical reliability significantly. In addition, the effects of taper-bore contact length and their interface friction are investigated and discussed.

ObjectivesOsteoporotic vertebral compression fractures (OVCF) are a common increasing entity in elderly patients and represent a tremendous economic burden. Surgical treatment is related to high complication rates and little is known about patient-specific and internal risk factors associated with poor clinical results.MethodsWe carried out a comprehensive, systematic literature search according to the PRISMA checklist and algorithm. Risk factors for perioperative complications, for early inpatient readmission, for the duration of the hospital stay, the hospital mortality, the total mortality and the clinical result were analyzed.ResultsA total of 739 potentially usable studies were identified. After considering all inclusion and exclusion criteria, 15 studies with 15,515 patients were included. Non-adjustable risk factors were age >90 years (OR 3.27), male gender (OR 1.41), BMI less than 18.5 kg/m2 (OR 3.97), ASA score >3 (OR 2.7), activity of daily live (ADL) (OR 1.52), dependence (OR 5.68), inpatient admission status (OR 3.22), Parkinson disease (OR 3.63) and disseminated cancer (OR 2.98). Adjustable factors were insufficient kidney function (GFR <60 mL/min, and Creatinine Clearance below 60 mg/dl) (OR 4.4), nutrition status (hypalbuminemia (<3.5 g/dl)), liver function (OR 8.9) and further cardiac and pulmonary comorbidities.DiscussionWe identified a couple of non-adjustable risk factors, which should be considered preoperatively in terms of risk assessment. However, even more important were adjustable factors that can be influenced preoperatively. In conclusion, we recommend a perioperative interdisciplinary cooperation, especially with geriatricians, to achieve the best possible clinical results in geriatric patients undergoing surgery for OVCF.

Abstract:In short term load forecasting using Neural Networks, when the training data is contaminated with high noise, this noise is mapped into network's weights, and causes increasing of forecasting error. This forecasting error make us apply some methods to increase accuracy in neural net. In this paper, load forecasting of such power systems is done based on employing two methods: Pruning algorithm and parallel networks structure. Considerable error reduction using these methods confirms that both methods improve the generalization of neural nets. Results of Tehran load forecasting whose training data is contaminated with high noise is a subsidiary of the ability of these methods in improving the generalization.
Surgical strategies for the treatment of deformity-associated cervical spondylotic stretch myelopathy: a case series with technically nuanced illustrative operative videos

Abstract:Objective: The aim of this study was to elucidate the vital role of anterior-only osteotomies for rigid cervical kyphosis causing stretch myelopathy by using illustrative cases and high-definition intraoperative videos. Methods: The authors describe 4 select patients who underwent anterior-only osteotomies within a 2-year time frame and demonstrate the nuances of each case with unique operative videos. Results: Outcomes for each of the cases demonstrated marked improvement in cervical spine alignment relative to preoperative conditions. Postoperative CT scans and upright radiographs for case 1 at 8 months demonstrated complete reduction of the kyphotic deformity and restoration of the C2 slope. In case 2, the 2-year postoperative radiographs showed significant realignment of the cervical spine, and the patient made significant neurological improvement since the operation, specifically in hand dexterity, balance, neck pain, and the ability to comfortably achieve and maintain a horizontal gaze. For case 3, postoperative upright radiographs revealed marked improvement in the patient's cervical sagittal alignment. The 4-month follow-up was also notable for substantial improvement in postural neck pain, bilateral upper extremity strength, and continued improvements in dexterity. Case 4 also demonstrated an excellent outcome with unkinking of the patient's spinal cord and correction of her sagittal plane deformity, as shown on her 5-month postoperative upright radiographs. Conclusions: Deformity-associated cervical spondylotic stretch myelopathy often leads to devastating neurological decline and can significantly decrease quality of life. Carefully selected cases of circumferentially rigid cervical kyphosis can be successfully corrected with anterior-only osteotomies followed by posterior fixation while avoiding back-front-back operations.

Abstract:Improvements in healthcare management have led to a decrease in perioperative and postoperative complications. However, perioperative medical complications and mortality rates continue to increase in patients undergoing elective spinal surgeries. This trend is driven by the increase in the older population and the rise in the number of patients with more than two comorbidities. Managing patients with multiple comorbidities requires additional resources, augmenting the financial and societal burden. Despite the high risk of complications and mortality, patients with multiple comorbidities undergo spinal surgery for degenerative spinal conditions daily. These findings highlight the need for heightened awareness, patient education, and management of comorbidities before elective spinal surgeries. This article comprehensively reviews literature on the effects of medical comorbidities on spinal fusion surgery outcomes to increase awareness of the surgical complications associated with comorbidities. In addition, suggested preoperative and postoperative comorbidity management strategies are outlined.

L5 Fracture Dislocation Secondary to Cold Abscess Treated by Posterior Corpectomy With Expandable Cage Placement

Abstract:Infections of the lumbar spine can have serious sequelae, including neurological deficits, paralysis, and death. Prolonged infection can result in fracture of the vertebrae, local abscesses, and infiltration and compression of local vascular structures. In cases with significant instability or neurological compromise, a common treatment approach is vertebral corpectomy with interbody cage followed by long-term antibiotics. The following case describes a patient with a three-month history of progressively worsening lower back pain, lower extremity radiculopathy, and bilateral lower extremity edema, in the setting of a nontraumatic three-column fracture dislocation of L5 with grade 4 retrolisthesis of L4 on L5. A posterior-only corpectomy with placement of an expandable cage, to be followed by pedicle screw placement from L3-S1/ilium, was performed. The procedure was successful, and the patient was discharged on postoperative day 5 without complication and with resolution of his edema. Histopathological analysis demonstrated acute and chronic inflammation, but extensive tests and cultures failed to identify a causative organism. This case highlights several interesting features, including a technically challenging and seldom-performed procedure, as well as the ability of lumbar spinal infections to present with leg edema due to involvement the inferior vena cava and iliac vessels. For patients with three-column fractures of L5 due to an inflammatory process or trauma, a single-stage posterior corpectomy with placement of an expandable cage may be considered as an appropriate treatment option.
Modified posterior osteotomy for osteoporotic vertebral collapse with neurological dysfunction in thoracolumbar spine: a preliminary study

Abstract:Objective: The risk of osteoporotic vertebral collapse (OVC) associated with delayed neurological dysfunction (DND) is substantial, and performing surgery for this condition in elderly patients presents challenges. The focus of the current research is on simplifying surgical procedures while maintaining their effectiveness. This study was designed to contribute clinical data supporting the use of modified posterior osteotomy for treating thoracolumbar OVC with DND. The study compares perioperative clinical parameters, imaging data characteristics, and changes in efficacy outcome indicators to provide evidence for the advancement of this technique. Methods: A total of 12 patients diagnosed with osteoporotic vertebral collapse and neurological dysfunction were included in the study. All patients underwent modified posterior osteotomy. Data regarding perioperative and radiological parameters as well as complications such as surgery duration, blood loss, ASIA grade, VAS, ODI, regional kyphosis angle (RKA), anterior vertebral height ratio (AVHr), and spinal canal clearance ratio (SCCr), were collected retrospectively. These parameters were then analysed to evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of the modified posterior osteotomy technique. Results: A total of 12 patients were included in the study, with a mean age of 65.5 ± 9.7 years. The average follow-up period was 29.4 ± 5.0 months. The mean operative blood loss was 483.3 ± 142.0 ml, and the average operative time was 3.7 ± 0.7 h. The visual analogue scale (VAS) score decreased from a preoperative value of 5.8 ± 0.7 to a final follow-up value of 1.3 ± 0.8 (P < 0.05), indicating a significant improvement in pain. The ODI decreased from 65.2 ± 6.0 before surgery to 20.5 ± 7.0, indicating a decrease in disability, and the postoperative neurological function showed a significant improvement. Correction of the RKA was observed, with the angle changing from 35.8 ± 10.8° before surgery to 20.0 ± 3.5° after surgery and to 22.5 ± 3.1° at the final follow-up. Similarly, correction of the AVHr was observed, with the height changing from 39.3 ± 18.0 to 63.0 ± 14.3 after surgery and to 53.9 ± 8.9 at the final follow-up. Correction of the SCCr was also observed, with the ratio changing from 54.9 ± 5.4 to 68.1 ± 5.3 after surgery and to 68.68 ± 6.76 at the final follow-up. Conclusions: Posterior modified osteotomy is an effective treatment for thoracolumbar osteoporotic fractures with OVC combined with DND. It can significantly preserve vertebral height, increase vertebral canal volume, correct kyphotic angle, and improve postoperative neurological function. The simplified osteotomy also offers advantages in terms of operating time, blood loss, postoperative VAS score, and improvement in lumbar function.

Abstract:Vertebral fractures commonly occur in postmenopausal women due to decreased bone density, a condition known as osteoporosis. They can occur after minimal trauma or even during routine activities. Vertebral fractures occur predominantly in individuals with a high fall risk. This case report explores the clinical complexities surrounding a 65-year-old female patient with a history of multilevel vertebrae fractures compounded by a history of chronic smoking, osteoporosis, multiple falls, and evident signs of osteopenia on X-ray. These risk factors complicate the decision to perform surgery and highlight the importance of constantly weighing the benefits and possible risks. This paper aims to emphasize the gender-specific challenges healthcare providers encounter when assessing surgical risks in the context of postmenopausal females with significant comorbidities. It underlines the need for tailored and comprehensive care strategies to manage orthopedic conditions in high-risk female individuals, further aligning with one of the World Health Organization's concerns on addressing gender-specific health considerations.
