Abstract:The latest generation of intraoral scanners can record the prosthetic field with relative ease, high accuracy and comfort for the patient, and have enabled fully digital protocols for designing and manufacturing complete dentures. The present study aims to examine the intaglio surface trueness of 3D printed maxillary dentures produced by fully digital workflow in comparison with dentures produced by analogue clinical and laboratory prosthetic workflow. The edentulous maxillary arch of 15 patients was scanned with an intraoral scanner as well as the intaglio of the delivered conventional denture. The scan of the edentulous arch was imported into a dental design software to produce the denture base which was then 3D printed. The intaglio surface of the finished 3D printed denture bases was digitized and used to assess the trueness of the printed denture bases compared to the intaglio surface of the conventional dentures as well as performing a trueness comparison in relation to the scanned edentulous arches. The dataset ( n = 30) was subjected to Kruskal-Wallis test analysis, the significance level being established at α = 0.05. The results of the study showed that the printed group displayed better trueness values with a median of 176.9 μm while the analogue group showed a median of 342 μm. Employing a fully digital workflow to produce 3D-printed denture bases yields a consistent and precise manufacturing method when accounting for the intaglio surface of the denture.

Dimensional reliability in CAD/CAM production of complete denture bases: A comparative study of milling and various 3D printing technologies

Abstract:This study aims to assess the dimensional accuracy of complete denture bases fabricated from different CAD/CAM technologies and a conventional method, including milling (CNC), PolyJet (PJ), laser sintering (SLS), digital light processing (DLP), and injection molding (IM). It also examines the influence of the removal of technology-specific connectors or support structures when present. Denture base surfaces were digitized using a laboratory scanner, and virtual measurement points were calculated with tetrahedral reference geometries. Defined distances were measured in all spatial directions and compared to design data (p<0.05), revealing significant differences in sagittal (p=0.004), transversal (p<0.001), and vertical (p<0.001) dimensions. Connector removal had no significant impact for CNC but significantly affected DLP. All technologies yielded clinically acceptable results, with CNC milling demonstrating the best overall outcome.
Surface trueness and precision of interim restorations fabricated by digital light processing and CAD-CAM milling systems

Abstract:Statement of problem: The development of digital dental technologies has enabled clinicians to use additive and subtractive manufacturing techniques to fabricate interim restorations. However, knowledge of the trueness and precision of such restorations fabricated using digital light processing (DLP) and computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD-CAM) methods is limited. Purpose: The purpose of this in vitro study was to assess and compare the accuracy of interim crowns fabricated using DLP and CAD-CAM methods. Material and methods: A typodont mandibular first molar was prepared for a ceramic crown, and a digital scan (Medit T500) was obtained to design interim crowns by using the CAD software program. The CAD data were designated as the reference data. A total of 20 crowns were fabricated by DLP and CAD-CAM technology. The fabricated interim crowns were further scanned using a laboratory scanner and were superimposed with the CAD data by using a 3-dimensional (3D) point cloud assessing software program (CloudCompare) for the evaluation of trueness and precision. Root mean square values (RMS) were obtained for the evaluation of discrepancies. The Student t test was used to compare data as the Shapiro-Wilk test confirmed the normal distribution. Results: RMS values for the trueness values of the external and intaglio surfaces of the 3D printed and milled interim crown displayed no statistically significant differences (P>.05). Precision for the external surface reported significance (P<.05), whereas that for the intaglio surface reported no significance (P>.05). Conclusions: The accuracy of interim crowns fabricated by using DLP was comparable with that of milled crowns. Both manufacturing systems produced a true reproduction of the CAD. As for precision, the external surface of the DLP interim crown was statistically different from that of the milled group as it relates to the CAD.
Effect of Duplication Techniques on the Fitting Accuracy of CAD-CAM Milled, 3D-Printed, and Injection-Molded Mandibular Complete Denture Bases

Abstract:Background: Digital technology has been introduced in prosthodontics, and it has been widely used in denture duplication instead of a conventional denture duplication technique. However, research comparing different denture duplication techniques and how they affect the fitting accuracy of the denture base is scarce. Objectives: The aim was to assess the impact of duplication techniques on the accuracy of the fitting surface of computer-aided design and manufacturing (CAD-CAM) milled, 3D-printed, and injection-molded complete denture bases (CDBs). Methodology: This study involved fabricating a mandibular complete denture base with three marked dimples as reference marks (A, B, and C at the incisive papilla, right molar, and left molar areas) using a conventional compression molded technique. This denture was then scanned to generate a standard tessellation language (STL) file; after that, it was duplicated using three different techniques (milling, 3D printing, and injection molding) and five denture base resin materials—two milled CAD-CAM materials (AvaDent and IvoBase), two 3D-printed materials (NextDent and HARZ Labs), and one injection-molded material (iFlextm). Based on the denture base type, the study divided them into five groups (each with n = 10). An evaluation of duplication accuracy was conducted on the fitting surface of each complete denture base (CDB) using two assessment methods. The first method was a two-dimensional evaluation, which entailed linear measurements of the distances (A–B, A–C, and B–C) between reference points on both the scanned reference mandibular denture and the duplicated dentures. Additionally, a three-dimensional superimposition technique was employed, involving the overlay of the STL files of the dentures onto the reference denture's STL file. The collected data underwent statistical analysis using a one-way analysis of variance and Tukey's pairwise post hoc tests. Results: Both evaluation techniques showed significant differences in fitting surface accuracy between the tested CDBs (p ˂ 0.001), as indicated by one-way ANOVA. In addition, the milled CDBs (AvaDent and IvoBase) had significantly higher fitting surface accuracy than the other groups (p ˂ 0.001) and were followed by 3D-printed CDBs (NextDent and HARZ Labs), while the injection-molded (iFlextm) CDBs had the lowest accuracy (p ˂ 0.001). Conclusions: The duplication technique of complete dentures using a CAD-CAM milling system produced superior fitting surface accuracy compared to the 3D-printing and injection-molded techniques.
Accuracy of digital complete dentures: A systematic review of in vitro studies

Abstract:Statement of problem: Reports on digital complete dentures (CDs) are increasing. However, systematic reviews on their accuracy and influencing factors are lacking. Purpose: The purpose of this systematic review was to evaluate the accuracy of digital CDs and to summarize influencing factors. Material and methods: An electronic search of the English language literature from January 2009 to October 2019 was performed in the database PubMed/MEDLINE, with the results enriched by manual searches and citation mining. Factors investigated in the selected articles included the fabrication technique, type of computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD-CAM) system, shape of reference model, long-term service, analytical method, and statistical indicators. Results: A total of 522 articles were identified, of which 14 in vitro articles met the inclusion criteria. Eight articles compared the adaptation of the denture base between digital and conventional methods, 4 studies evaluated the occlusal discrepancies, 4 compared the trueness or adaptation of the denture fabricated with CAD-CAM milling and 3D printing, 1 compared the denture adaptation with 4 different CAD-CAM systems, and 2 evaluated the adaptation of the denture base before and after incubation in artificial saliva. Conclusions: Most of the studies reported clinically acceptable values for the occlusal trueness and adaptation of digital CDs. The digital CDs showed similar or better adaptation than conventionally fabricated CDs, and the greatest misfit of the intaglio surface was reported in the posterior palatal seal area and border seal area. The fabrication technique, CAD-CAM system, and long-term service were statistically significant in relation to denture accuracy. Clarification is needed concerning the accuracy of digital CDs according to the shape of the cast, the parameters related to the CAD-CAM process, the analytical method, and the statistical indicators. No clear conclusions can be drawn about the superiority of CAD-CAM milling and 3D printing regarding denture accuracy.
Accuracy of Tooth Positioning in 3D-Printing Aided Manufactured Complete Dentures: an in Vitro Study.

Abstract:Purpose: In this study, we propose a 3D printing-aided method for manufacturing complete dentures and evaluate its accuracy of artificial tooth positioning.Methods: Complete dentures were designed and 3D printed and put on a plaster cast; and pack and press tech-nique was used to fabricate the final denture during which artificial teeth were inserted in the teeth holes formed by the printed denture. In this study, fused deposition moulding (FDM) and stereolithography (SLA) techniques were used to fabricate complete dentures (10 pairs of maxillary and mandibular dentures each). After 3D scanning the final dentures, 3D comparison between the scanned teeth on the denture and its computer-aided design (CAD) data was made and single-tooth deflection angles were measured to evaluate the tooth position. Values were compared using independent-sample t-tests or the Mann-Whitney U test.Results: In the result of 3D comparison, the root mean square values of artificial teeth were 0.107 +/- 0.018 mm (SLA group) and 0.136 +/- 0.023 mm (FDM group; P < 0.05). In the result of single-tooth deflection angles, the mandibular anterior teeth demonstrated the maximum deflection angle, followed by the molars, premolars, and maxillary anterior teeth.Conclusions: It is feasible to fabricate complete dentures using 3D-printed complete dentures as prototypes and combine conventional methods. The accuracy of the final denture fabricated using SLA printing was better than that of dentures produced using the FDM method.Clinical significance: The 3D printing-aided manufacturing for complete dentures refers to using the 3D-printed dentures as a prototype along with the traditional process to fabricate final dentures and is an effective alter-native when the dentures cannot be directly processed using computer-aided manufacturing (CAM).

Abstract:To compare the reference geometry approach to the best-fit (or superimposition) approach in the estimation of geometric accuracy relevant to the digital and the analog workflow to fabricate a complete denture. Starting from a model of an edentulous maxilla, the two measuring methodologies were tested to estimate the geometric accuracy of the intaglio surface of the complete dentures fabricated by CNC milling and injection molding. Eight areas of interest were defined at the intaglio surface of the denture base; a sensitivity analysis determined the minimum number of measuring points to calculate a reliable error value. A repeatability analysis was performed to assess the consistency of this experimental reference geometry approach with respect to the clinic acceptable requirements. For the analog workflow, the comparison of the reference geometry results to the best-fit results showed a − 76 (post-dam) ÷ 169 μm (right flange) range of the mean value for the reference geometry approach, to be compared to − 15 (left crest) ÷ 146 μm (right tuberosity) range for the best-fit approach. For the digital workflow, the same comparison showed a − 21 (left crest) ÷ 51 μm (left flange) range for the reference geometry approach, compared to a − 20 (left crest) ÷ 23 μm (left flange) for the best-fit approach. The best-fit approach results in an underestimation of mean error values and their distribution over the entire prosthesis. The reference geometry approach correctly estimates error values while focusing on the identification of sources of errors in the manufacturing process.

Abstract:PURPOSE: Digital technology has enabled improvements in the fitting accuracy of denture bases via milling techniques. The aim of this study was to evaluate the trueness and precision of digital and analog techniques for manufacturing complete dentures (CDs).MATERIALS AND METHODS: Sixty identical CDs were manufactured using different production protocols. Digital and analog technologies were compared using the reference geometric approach, and the Δ-error values of eight areas of interest (AOI) were calculated. For each AOI, a precise number of measurement points was selected according to sensitivity analyses to compare the Δ-error of trueness and precision between the original model and manufactured prosthesis. Three types of statistical analysis were performed: to calculate the intergroup cumulative difference among the three protocols, the intergroup among the AOIs, and the intragroup difference among AOIs.RESULTS: There was a statistically significant difference between the dentures made using the oversize process and injection molding process (P < .001), but no significant difference between the other two manufacturing methods (P = .1227). There was also a statistically significant difference between the dentures made using the monolithic process and the other two processes for all AOIs (P = .0061), but there was no significant difference between the other two processes (P = 1). Within each group, significant differences among the AOIs were observed.CONCLUSION: The monolithic process yielded better results, in terms of accuracy (trueness and precision), than the other groups, although all three processes led to dentures with Δ-error values well within the clinical tolerance limit.

Abstract:This study aimed to evaluate the intaglio surface trueness of interim dental crowns fabricated with three 3-dimensional (3D) printing and milling technologies. Dental crown was designated and assigned as a computer-aided design (CAD) reference model (CRM). Interim dental crowns were fabricated based on CRM using two types of 3D printer technologies (stereolithography apparatus and digital light processing) and one type of milling machine (n = 15 per technology). The fabricated interim dental crowns were obtained via 3D modeling of the intaglio surface using a laboratory scanner and designated as CAD test models (CTMs). The alignment and 3D comparison of CRM and CTM were performed based on the intaglio surface using a 3D inspection software program (Geomagic Control X). Statistical analysis was validated using one-way analysis of variance and Tukey HSD test (α = 0.05). There were significant differences in intaglio surface trueness between the three different fabrication technologies, and high trueness values were observed in the milling group (p < 0.05). In the milling group, there was a significant difference in trueness according to the location of the intaglio surface (p < 0.001). In the manufacturing process of interim dental crowns, 3D printing technologies showed superior and uniform manufacturing accuracy than milling technology.

In vitro cultivation of Trypanosoma (T.) brucei bloodstream forms using cell lines and sera from African wild Bovidae.

Abstract:Bloodstream forms of Trypanosoma brucei brucei, T. b. rhodesiense and T. b. gambiense can be grown continuously in vitro (Hirumi et al., 1977, Science 196: 992-994; Brun et al., 1981, J. Protozool. 28: 470-479). The culture system consists of a mammalian feeder layer of fibroblast-like cells in tissue culture medium containing 20% serum. The standard system, which supports continuous growth of all three Trypanozoon subspecies, is Microtus montanus whole embryo fibroblasts (MEF) in HEPES-buffered Minimum Essential Medium with 20% heat-inactivated rabbit, goat, horse or human serum (the latter only for human serum resistant stocks). The aim of the present study was to compare the ability of different cell lines to support growth of bloodstream forms of T. b. brucei and T. b. rhodesiense. The T. b. brucei stock STIB 247 was isolated in 1971 in the Serengeti National Park from a hartebeest. The T. b. rhodesiense stock STIB 704 was isolated in 1982 in Tanzania from the blood of a male patient. Cell lines were isolated from embryonic tissue of wild animals using the technique described earlier (Brun et al., 1981, J. Protozool. 28: loc. cit.). Lung, kidney and heart muscle were the main organs which were processed. Embryos of eland (Taurotragus oryx), impala (Aepyceros melampus) and Grant's gazelle (Gazella granti), and also an embryo of an East African goat were obtained from farms in Laikipia district, 140200 km north of Nairobi. Most of the isolated cell lines were of the fibroblast cell type, a few were epithelial or a mixture of fibroblast and epithelial cells. The cell line isolated from the impala embryo kidney contained fibroblasts and muscle cells (Table I). The experiments were carried out in 24-well tissue culture plates containing a confluent feeder layer 2 days after subpassage. The medium was Minimum Essential Medium with Earle's salts, 25 mM HEPES buffer, 1 mM L-glutamine, 1% MEM nonessential amino acids (100 x) and 1 g/ liter additional glucose. The medium was supplemented with 15% heat-inactivated serum and 10 ,tg/ml gentamycin. Each well received 1.0 ml medium and 2 x 105 trypanosomes isolated from infected ICR mice. The bloodstream forms were separated from blood cells by differential centrifugation. The cultures were incubated in a humidified incubator at 37 C in 4% CO2 in air. Every 24 hr the trypanosome density was estimated and the medium changed by gently removing about 90% from the top of the well and replacing it by fresh medium. Each feeder layer/ serum combination was run in duplicate and followed for at least 10 days. The results are summarized in Table II. Many feeder layer/serum combinations supported continuous growth of T. b. brucei and T. b. rhodesiense. With all feeder layers, inactivated fetal bovine serum (iFBS) turned out to be unsuitable for the cultivation of bloodstream forms though it was possible to maintain the culture for a few days. Inactivated rabbit serum, human serum and the homologous sera as medium supplements resulted in good or even excellent growth. Abstract:There is a lack of studies comparing the dimensional accuracy and color stability of denture base resins made using computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD-CAM) milling, 3-dimensional (3D) printing, and conventional denture processing techniques. This makes it challenging to determine the best method to fabricate complete dentures. The objective of this in vitro investigation was to assess and contrast the color stability and dimensional accuracy of denture base resins that were 3D printed and CAD-CAM milled, both before and after aging by thermocycling using digital surface matching technology and a benchtop laser scanner without using a spray, to optimize adaptation of the denture base and cast to minimize any imperfections and to evaluate the impact of the denture cleansing solution on the stability of color.

A Low Friction Demanding Approach in Gait Planning for Humanoid Robots During 3D Manoeuvres

Abstract:This paper proposes a gait planning approach to reduce the required friction for a biped robot walking on various surfaces. To this end, a humanoid robot with 18 DOF is considered to develop a dynamics model for studying various 3D manoeuvres. Then, feasible trajectories are developed to alleviate the fluctuations on the upper body to resemble human-like walking. In order to generate feasible walking patterns, not only horizontal interaction moments for the computation of ZMP, but also horizontal forces and vertical moment constraints between the feet and the ground surface are taken into account. Since the pelvis trajectory does drastically affect the walking pattern, the focus will be on generating a smooth motion for the pelvis. This smooth motion is generated based on a desired motion for the robot’s Centre of Mass (COM), which is mapped to the joint space using inverse kinematics. In fact, the proposed approach involves computing a moving ZMP based on a predefined desired COM trajectory to reduce the required friction for stable walking. The suggested gait planning approach (Low Friction Demanding Moving-ZMP, LFDM) is compared to various existing approaches considering slippage conditions. The obtained results reveal the effectiveness of the proposed method for various walking speeds which will be discussed.
Position Accuracy of Implant Analogs on 3D Printed Polymer versus Conventional Dental Stone Casts Measured Using a Coordinate Measuring Machine

Abstract:PURPOSE: To compare the accuracy of implant analog positions on complete edentulous maxillary casts made of either dental stone or additive manufactured polymers using a coordinate measuring machine (CMM).MATERIAL AND METHODS: A completely edentulous maxillary model of a patient with 7 implant analogs was obtained. From this model, two types of casts were duplicated, namely conventional dental stone (CDS) using a custom tray impression technique after splinting (N = 5) and polymer cast using additive manufacturing based on the STL file generated. Polymer casts (N = 20; n = 5 per group) were fabricated using 4 different additive manufacturing technologies (multijet printing-MJP1, direct light processing-DLP, stereolithography-SLA, multijet printing-MJP2). CMM was used to measure the correct position of each implant, and distortion was calculated for each system at x-, y-, and z-axes. Measurements were repeated 3 times per specimen in each axis yielding a total of 546 measurements. Data were analyzed using ANOVA, Sheffé tests, and Bonferroni correction (α = 0.05).RESULTS: Compared to CMM, the mean distortion (μm) ranged from 22.7 to 74.9, 23.4 to 49.1, and 11.0 to 85.8 in the x-, y-, and z-axes, respectively. CDS method (x-axis: 37.1; z-axis: 27.62) showed a significant difference compared to DLP on the x-axis (22.7) (p = 0.037) and to MJP1 on the z-axis (11.0) (p = 0.003). Regardless of the cast system, x-axes showed more distortion (42.6) compared to y- (34.6) and z-axes (35.97). Among additive manufacturing technologies, MJP2 presented the highest (64.3 ± 83.6), and MJP1 (21.57 ± 16.3) and DLP (27.07 ± 20.23) the lowest distortion, which was not significantly different from CDS (32.3 ± 22.73) (p > 0.05).CONCLUSION: For the fabrication of the definitive casts for implant prostheses, one of the multijet printing systems and direct light processing additive manufacturing technologies showed similar results to conventional dental stone.CLINICAL SIGNIFICANCE: Conventional dental stone casts could be accurately duplicated using some of the additive manufacturing technologies tested.

Abstract:Herein, we used digital su1perimposition to evaluate the accuracy of metal frameworks for mandibular removable partial dentures fabricated using three techniques. Thirty master casts of a mandibular dentiform were categorized into three groups (n = 10) based on the framework manufacturing method: selective laser melting-based metal three-dimensional (3D) printing (SLM), digital light projection-based resin 3D printing and subsequent casting (RPC), and conventional casting (CON). The master casts were scanned twice, initially after preparation and subsequently after attaching silicone using the frameworks. These scan files were digitally superimposed to measure the silicone thickness. Statistical analysis was conducted using SPSS Statistics (Version 23.0, IBM Corp., Somers, NY, USA). One-way ANOVA and a post hoc Tukey's multiple comparison tests were performed to determine differences among the three groups (α = 0.05). The RPC group exhibited significantly higher overall and mean internal discrepancies at rest and tissue stops than the SLM and CON groups, which exhibited statistically insignificant differences. Thus, SLM fabrication resulted in comparable accuracy to that achieved by CON, whereas sequentially performing resin 3D printing and casting induced inferior accuracy. However, all frameworks across the three groups were clinically acceptable.

Abstract:BACKGROUND: The accuracy of dental crowns is crucial for their longevity and effectiveness. OBJECTIVE: This study aims to investigate how the precision of crowns is affected by two different fabrication methods, either subtractive (milling) or additive (3D printing), within computer-aided design/computer-aided manufacture (CAD/CAM) technology. METHODS: A standardised digital scan of a maxillary first molar with a shoulder margin (.stl file) was used to design and fabricate crowns through both subtractive (milling) and additive (3D printing) processes. The crowns' marginal and internal fits were assessed comprehensively. Statistical analysis, including two-way ANOVA and independent t-tests, revealed significant differences in fitting accuracy between the two methods. RESULTS: Crowns produced via 3D printing demonstrated superior fitting with minimal marginal (14 ± 5 μm) and internal discrepancies (22 ± 5 μm) compared to milling (marginal: 22 ± 4 μm, internal: 23 ± 3 μm), indicating a statistically significant advantage in precision (p⁢s⩽ 0.022 for marginal fit). CONCLUSION: The findings suggest that 3D printing may offer a more accurate alternative to milling in the fabrication of digital dental prostheses, potentially revolutionising the field with its enhanced precision capabilities.

Fit and retention of complete denture bases: Part I - Conventional versus CAD-CAM methods: A clinical controlled crossover study

Abstract:Statement of problem: Clinical evidence is sparse on whether dentures fabricated by computer-aided design and computer-aided manufacturing (CAD-CAM) methods afford superior fit and retention when compared with those fabricated conventionally. Purpose: The purpose of this clinical controlled crossover study was to evaluate the peak retention force and fit of CAD-CAM manufactured (3D printed and milled) maxillary complete denture bases and conventional heat-polymerized bases (control). Material and methods: Twenty participants with edentulous maxillary arches were recruited. Impressions were made with a border-molded custom tray, and the resulting definitive cast was scanned. The conventional base was manufactured on the definitive cast with a hook and a 45-degree platform with a central notch and 2 lateral notches. The scan of the definitive cast was used for the fabrication of a milled and a printed base. The platform and hook position on the conventional base were transferred digitally to the milled and printed bases. All bases were scanned. A traction dynamometer was orientated into the notches, and retention was evaluated in the post dam and tuberosity areas. Scans were imported into a comparison software program which matched scans to their corresponding reference and performed a 3-dimensional comparison. The Friedman and Wilcoxon tests were used to compare between groups (confidence interval: 95%, α=.05). Results: Nineteen participants with a mean ±standard deviation age of 64.1 ±14.7 years completed all clinical sessions. No significant difference in peak retention was measured between milled (MB1), printed (PB1), and conventional (CB) bases in the post dam (CB: 12.44 ±9.62 N, PB1: 16.08 ±15.28 N, MB1: 14.52 ±17.07 N) and right tuberosity area (CB: 8.99 ±7.82 N, PB1: 11.28 ±9.57 N, MB1: 11.99 ±12.10 N). In the left tuberosity area, peak retention was lower for CB (10.03 ±8.39 N) than PB1 (14.98 ±14.72 N) and MB1 (13.55 ±15.53 N; P=.05). Compared with the definitive cast, the fit of the conventional base (0.18 ±0.01 mm) was closer than the printed (0.21 ±0.03 mm) and milled bases (0.21 ±0.02 mm) (P<.001). Conclusions: The CD bases manufactured by CAD-CAM techniques provided retention and fit similar to that of conventionally manufactured bases and can therefore be considered suitable techniques.
Evaluation of the effect of thermocycling on the trueness and precision of digitally fabricated complete denture bases

Abstract:Background: While many denture base materials are currently available on the market, little data exists regarding their dimensional stability after exposure to the oral environment. This study aimed to evaluate the effect of thermocycling on the trueness and precision of milled, 3-dimensional (3D)-printed, and conventional digitally fabricated complete denture bases (CDBs). Methods: A completely edentulous maxillary stone model was scanned to generate a standard tessellation language (STL) file; this was imported into metal-milling-machine software (Redon Hybrid CAD-CAM metal milling machine, Redon, Turkey) to produce a metal model for fabricating 30 CDBs. These were divided into three groups (n = 10 in each) according to the construction technique: group 1, CAD-CAM milled CDBs; group 2, 3D-printed CDBs; and group 3, conventional compression molded CDBs. All CDBs were scanned after fabrication and evaluated before and after thermocycling using superimposition. The data were analyzed using a one-way ANOVA, Tukey's post hoc test, and a paired t-test. Results: The level of trueness between the CAD-CAM milled, 3D-printed, and compression molded CDBs showed significant differences before and after thermocycling (P < 0.05). Group 1 showed the highest degree of trueness before and after thermocycling, group 3 exhibited a higher degree of trueness than group 2 before thermocycling, and group 2 had a higher degree of trueness than group 3 after thermocycling. There was a significant difference in the precision for each CDB type before and after thermocycling (P < 0.05). Conclusion: The trueness of the CAD-CAM milling system in complete denture (CD) fabrication is superior to that of the 3D printing and conventional compression molding systems before and after thermocycling. Thermocycling had a significant effect on the precision of all CDB types. The compression molding system in CD construction is the most negatively affected via thermocycling with regard to the measures of trueness and precision.
