[Efficacy and Safety of Digestive Tract Stent Placement under Direct Visual Endoscopy Without X-ray Monitoring in Treatment of Digestive Tract Stricture].

Abstract:OBJECTIVE:To evaluate the efficacy and safety of digestive tract stent implantation under direct visual endoscopy without X-ray monitoring in the treatment of digestive tract stricture.METHODS:The clinical data of patients undergoing digestive tract stent placement under direct visual endoscopy without X-ray monitoring in the First Affiliated Hospital of Zhejiang University School of Medicine from March 2003 to November 2017 were retrospectively analyzed. The process of procedures, the postoperative complications and the postoperative follow-up data were documented. The survival time of patients with malignant gastrointestinal stricture was compared between those with and without stent implantation.RESULTS:Among 562 patients, there were 310 cases of esophagus and cardia stricture, 40 cases of gastroduodenus stricture, 212 cases of colorectum stricture, and 63 cases with esophagus-tracheal fistula,esophagus-mediastinal fistula or anastomotic fistula. The stents were implanted successfully in 560 cases (99.64%) and the symptoms were alleviated in all patients after stent implantation (100%). Postoperative substernal discomfort, chest pain or abdominal pain occurred in 26 cases (4.64%), bleeding in 18 cases (3.21%), displacement of esophageal stents in 9 cases (1.61%), and restenosis in 15 cases (2.68%), in whom the stents were successfully placed again. None of the patients died within 7 days after the procedure. The incidence of postoperative abdominal pain, bleeding and stent displacement in esophageal/cardiac stricture patients was higher than that in the colorectal stricture patients (P<0.05). In 284 cases of malignant stenosis, the median survival time of colorectal stricture patients[(27.5±1.94) months] was significantly higher than that of esophagus/cardia stricture patients[(13.40±0.71) months] and gastroduodenal stricture patients[(11.00±1.78) months]. The survival time of stenting patients with upper gastrointestinal malignant stenosis was significantly longer than that of the non-stenting patients (P<0.05).CONCLUSIONS:Stent implantation under direct visual endoscopy without X-ray monitoring is safe and effective for the treatment of benign and malignant stricture of digestive tract and closure of fistula.

Abstract:Objective To investigate the efficacy and safety of membrane-covered self-expanding metal stent in the treatment of high-positioned esophageal diseases,including esophageal stenosis,esophagotracheal fistula and anastomotic stricture.Methods Clinical data of 84 patients who underwent stenting in our center from May 2005 to July 2013 were retrospectively analyzed.Of 84 patients,31 were diagnosed as esophageal malignant stenosis,2 compression stenosis,10 radiation stenosis,4 recurrent malignant stenosis,27 anastomotic stricture,1 esophageal stenosis after endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD),7 esophageal-tracheal fistula,1 esophageal-mediastinal fistula,and 1 remnant stomach fistula.Distance from stenosis or fistula to central incisor was 15-20 cm in 48 cases,and more than 20 cm in 36 cases.All the patients were treated by 16 mm membranecovered self-expanding metal stents.Main clinical manifestations and complications were evaluated.Results A total of 100 stents were placed in 84 patients,with a success rate of 100％.There were no complications such as perforation and bleeding during operation.Dysphagia and cough were improved quickly with a success rate of 100％.After the placement of stents,the incidence of complication was 6.0％(5/84),of which 2 cases were severe retrosternal pain,1 was tracheal collapse,and 2 were stent displacement.Seventy-six patients (90.5％) received complete follow-up of 1 to 36 months (mean 15 months).Re-stenosis occurred in 4 cases,new esophageal-tracheal fistula in 2 cases.Among these 6 cases,5 cases underwent successfully stent placement once again,and another one case received Savary bougie and Argon-ion coagulation with good efficacy.Conclusion Endoscopic membrane-covered self-expanding metal stent placement is effective and safe for the relieve of dysphagia symptoms and the sealing of esophagotracheal fistula.
Effectiveness of the Interventional Technique for the Removal of Self-Expanding Metallic Esophageal Stents Under Fluoroscopy

Abstract:Rationale and Objectives Timely removal of esophageal stents can help avoid or reduce the occurrence of complications. This study was aimed at elucidating the interventional technique for the removal of self-expanding metallic esophageal stents (SEMESs) under fluoroscopy and analyzing its safety and efficacy. Materials and Methods The medical records of patients who underwent removal of SEMESs by interventional techniques under fluoroscopy were retrospectively analyzed. Furthermore, the success and adverse event rates for different interventional techniques of stent removal were analyzed and compared. Results Overall, 411 patients were included, and 507 metallic esophageal stents were removed. There were 455 and 52 fully and partially covered SEMESs, respectively. According to the stent indwelling time, benign esophageal diseases were divided into two groups: ≤68 days and >68 days. There was a significant difference in the incidence of complications between the two groups (13.1% and 30.5%, respectively, p 52 days. Intergroup differences in complication incidence were not significant ( p = .81) Further, there was a significant difference in removal time between the recovery line pull and proximal adduction techniques (4 and 6 minutes, respectively, p < .001). In addition, the recovery line pull technique was associated with a lower rate of complications (9.8% vs 19.1 %, p = .04). There was no statistical difference in the technical success rate and incidence of adverse events between the inversion and stent-in-stent techniques. Conclusion Interventional technique to remove SEMESs under fluoroscopy is safe, effective, and worthy of clinical application.

Abstract:AIM: To evaluate the effects of self-expanding metal stents (SEMS) in patients with malignant esophageal obstruction and to analyze their prognosis and complications.METHODS: Seventy-four metallic stents were placed under fluoroscopic guidance in 66 patients with esophageal obstruction secondary to carcinoma, of whom, 6 cases were complicated by fistula.RESULTS: After seventy-two stents were successfully used in 66 cases without any severe complications (technical successful rate was 97%), the dysphagia score improved from 3.3+/-0.6 to 0.8+/-0.5 (P<0.01), and life quality improved significantly in all these patients. All fistulae were sealed immediately after coated stents were inserted in the six patients. New stents were placed in two patients: the stent migrated more than 2 cm, in one patient and the stent slipped into stomach in the other. Minor bleeding was found only in 28 patients during the operation. Reobstruction was found in 12 patients, but was successfully cured under endoscopy. The survival rate was 78%, 57% and 11% for 6 mo, 1 year and 2 years respectively.CONCLUSION: Placement of SEMS is a simple, safe, quick and efficient surgical method for treating esophageal carcinoma obstruction. It may be used mainly as a palliative treatment of esophageal obstruction secondary to carcinoma. (C) 2005 The WJG Press and Elsevier Inc. All rights reserved.
Prophylactic stenting for esophageal stricture prevention after endoscopic submucosal dissection

Abstract:Endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) of superficial esophageal cancer has been increasingly used as an alternative to surgery because it is minimally invasive and has a high rate of en bloc resection. However, a high rate of esophageal stricture is observed after ESD for large lesions, which can dramatically decrease the patient's quality of life. Stricture prevention is necessary to allow for endoscopic therapy to expand. We, herein, review the most recent evidence and discuss the role of the metallic self-expandable stent and the biodegradable stent in esophageal stricture prevention. Limited studies suggested that prophylactic stenting could reduce the stricture rate without increasing the number of complications. In addition, the number of bougie dilation procedures was significantly lower with stent placement. Esophageal stenting is a promising option for post-ESD stricture prevention. However, current evidence is too preliminary to formulate practice standards. Future studies are needed to further validate the efficacy and safety of prophylactic stenting and determine the best strategy for stricture prevention. Stent migration is the most common complication. A new stent that has advantages of a low migration rate and minimal tissue reaction will need to be developed. Therefore, randomized controlled trials with long-term follow-up periods are required before prophylactic stenting could be considered a valid option to prevent post-ESD stricture.

Abstract:512 Background: mTOR is a controller of cellular growth and other processes that is activated by several oncogenic pathways in cancer. Everolimus is an oral inhibitor of mTOR activation. The mTOR inhibitor, temsirolimus, when combined with high dose 5FU, was limited by significant mucosal toxicity. PURPOSE Phase I study to determine the maximum tolerated doses (MTD) and the safety of everolimus combined with 5FU/LV in patients with refractory solid tumors. METHODS Using a standard 3+3 design, starting doses were everolimus 15mg weekly, and q2 weekly 5FU 400mg/m2 bolus and 1800mg/m2 infusion (over 46 hours) and LV 400mg/m2. Daily dosing of everolimus was instituted during level 3 as data emerged about improved target inhibition and adverse event profile with daily dosing. Dose escalation to the maximum planned levels was achieved: everolimus 10mg daily, 5FU 400mg/m2 bolus and 2400mg/m2 infusion, and LV 400mg/m2. Dose limiting toxicities (DLT) were assessed in cycle 1 (4 weeks), defined as any grade 3/4 non-hematologic toxicity (except grade 3 skin rash, nausea and diarrhea), or complicated grade 3-4 heme toxicity. Tumors were measured every 8 weeks. RESULTS From 03/2008 and 11/2009, 21 patients were treated. Median age 58 (range 35-77), male/female 13/8, PS 0/1 10/11. One DLT was seen at dose level 1 (grade 3 hypersensitivity/angioedema); two at dose level 6 (grade 3 diarrhea, grade 3 hypophosphatemia). As such, dose level 5 is the MTD. Dose reductions were required in 4 patients for mouth sores (2), nasal sores (1), and grade 3 transaminitis (1). Responses are as follows: 11 stable disease and 8 progressive disease; 2 patients were not evaluable. CONCLUSIONS MTD is everolimus 5mg daily, with q2 weekly 5FU 400mg/m2 bolus and 2400mg/m2 infusion and LV 400mg/m2. We are currently expanding the study to evaluate the addition of oxaliplatin and panitumumab to the 5-FU/LV and everolimus base. [Table: see text] [Table: see text].
A Short Fully Covered Self-Expandable Metal Stent for Management of Benign Biliary Stricture Not Caused by Living-Donor Liver Transplantation

Abstract:Background: This study evaluated the effectiveness of short fully covered self-expanding metal stents (FCSEMS) with an anti-migration design in treating benign biliary strictures (BBS) not related to living donor liver transplantation (LDLT). Methods: A retrospective analysis was conducted on 75 patients who underwent FCSEMS insertion for BBS management. Stents were initially kept for 3 months and exchanged every 3 months until stricture resolution. Adverse events and stricture recurrence after FCSEMS removal were assessed during follow-up. Results: The study outcomes were technical success, stenosis resolution, and treatment failure. Technical success was 100%, with stricture resolution in 99% of patients. The mean onset time of BBS post-surgery was 4.4 years, with an average stent indwelling period of 5.5 months. Stricture recurrence occurred in 20% of patients, mostly approximately 18.8 months after stent removal. Early cholangitis and stent migration were noted in 3% and 4% of patients, respectively. Conclusions: This study concludes that short FCSEMS demonstrate high efficacy in the treatment of non-LDLT-related BBS, with a low incidence of interventions and complications. Although this is a single-center, retrospective study with a limited sample size, the findings provide preliminary evidence supporting the use of short FCSEMS as a primary treatment modality for BBS. To substantiate these findings, further research involving multicenter studies is recommended to provide additional validation and a broader perspective.

Preventive Strategies Of Esophageal Stricture After Endoscopic Submucosal Dissection For Long-Segment And Circumferencial Esophageal Squamous Carcinoma: A Prospective Exploratory Study

Abstract:Objectives: Endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) has become standard method for the treatment of superficial esophageal squamous cell carcinoma (SESCC). However, post-ESD esophageal stricture often occurs if patients suffer mucosal defects of more than three-quarters of the circumference of the esophagus, and even in almost 100% of cases after wholly circumferential ESD. As always, this unresolved problem has brought difficulties and challenges to endoscopic treatment for large-scale SESCC. We conducted a prospective study to exploring new ways to prevent esophageal stricture complicating long and full circumferential ESD. Patients expected to develop a long-segment and circular mucosal defect after esophageal ESD for SESCC were eligible for the study. Preventive strategies included 1) oral administration of corticosteroids: oral prednisolone began at a dose of 30 mg/day when the patient was permitted to start oral intake,tapered gradually (30, 25, 20, 15, 10, and 5 mg for 14 days each) and then discontinued. The total amount of prednisolone application time was 12 weeks; and 2) placement of a novel self-control stricture-preventing water balloon :the balloon was 2cm in diameter when completely filled with water and the length was made according to the mucosal defect.The device was inserted about 3-4 days after ESD. After discharge, patients used the device at home and made the balloon keeping filling except for during meals. The device would be removed about 8 weeks after ESD. The primary outcome was the incidence of esophageal stricture after ESD. The secondary outcomes included the number of esophageal balloon dilation (EBD) required for the management of the stricture, and adverse events. Between February 2018 to August 2019, 31 patients who met the eligibility criteria were included and 30 patients finished the 12-week both steroid treatment and balloon placement, with one patient transferred to surgery after ESD for deep tumor infiltration. The median length of lesions was 7.9 cm (range from 6cm to 13cm). All patients were followed up for at least 3 months. Only one male patient suffered from prolonged dysphagia and did not achieve complete remission despite 6 sessions of dilation and finally received esophagectomy. All the other 29 patients did not complain of dysphagia and no stenosis was found through gastroscopy in follow up. Balloon migration happened in four patients and was resolved by timely reinsertion . No perforation, bleeding, or infection related to the ESD occurred. Over the follow-up period, no significant adverse events were observed. Abstract:The purpose of this review is to provide a sufficiently detailed perspective on epidemiologic studies of primary brain tumors to encourage multidisciplinary etiologic and prognostic studies among surgeons, neuro-oncologists, epidemiologists, and molecular scientists. Molecular tumor markers that predict survival and treatment response are being identified with hope of even greater gains in this area from emerging array technologies. Regarding risk factors, studies of inherited susceptibility and constitutive polymorphisms in genes pertinent to carcinogenesis (for example, DNA repair and detoxification genes and mutagen sensitivity) have revealed provocative findings. Inverse associations of the history of allergies with glioma risk observed in 3 large studies and reports of inverse associations of glioma with common infections suggest a possible role of immune factors in glioma genesis or progression. Studies continue to suggest that brain tumors might result from workplace, dietary, and other personal and residential exposures, but studies of cell phone use and power frequency electromagnetic fields have found little to support a causal connection with brain tumors; caveats remain. The only proven causes of brain tumors (that is, rare hereditary syndromes, therapeutic radiation, and immune suppression giving rise to brain lymphomas) account for a small proportion of cases. Progress in understanding primary brain tumors might result from studies of well-defined histologic and molecular tumor types incorporating assessment of potentially relevant information on subject susceptibility and environmental and noninherited endogenous factors (viruses, radiation, and carcinogenic or protective chemical exposures through diet, workplace, oxidative metabolism, or other sources). Such studies will require the cooperation of researchers from many disciplines.

Abstract:Nitric oxide dimerization in gas phase and aromatic hosts (benzene) has been investigated with ab initio quantum mechanics. Using the (RO)MP2-aug-cc-pVDZ method, the computed bond dissociation energy (ON...NO) and geometry of (NO)2 in the gas phase are consistent with the reported spectroscopic data. A relatively strong interaction (-5.4 kcal/mol) between (NO)2 and benzene indicates that aromatic surrounding enhances the NO dimerization. Calculations on reactions of phosphine and methanethiol with NO and (NO)2 show that the dimer is much more reactive. This explains reactions of NO with phosphines and thiols.
Outcome of Self-Expanding Metal Stents in the Treatment of Anastomotic Leaks After Ivor Lewis Esophagectomy

Abstract:Background: Esophageal anastomotic leakages after Ivor Lewis esophagectomy are severe and life-threatening complications. We analyzed the outcome of using self-expanding metal stents (SEMS) in the treatment of postoperative leakage after esophagogastrostomy. Methods: Seventy patients with esophageal anastomotic leakage after Ivor Lewis esophagectomy for esophageal cancer who had received SEMS treatment between January 2006 and December 2015 at our clinic were identified in this retrospective study. The patients were analyzed according to demographic characteristics, risk factors, leakage characteristics, stent characteristics, stent-related complications, sealing success rate and mortality. Results: Over a 10-year period, 70 patients received SEMS as treatment for postoperative anastomotic leakage after esophagectomy. Technical success of esophageal stenting in anastomotic leakage was achieved in 50 out of 70 cases (71.4%). Sealing success rate was 70% (n = 49) with a median treatment of 28 days (range 7-87). In 20 patients (28.6%), stent-related complications, such as stenosis, dislocation, leakage persistence, perforation or esophagotracheal fistula occurred after the SEMS treatment. Sixty-one patients (87.1%) survived SEMS treatment of esophagogastric anastomotic leakage. Mean follow-up for all patients was 38 months (IQR 10-76), and no significant difference was found in a comparison of the long-term survival rate between patients with successful and unsuccessful SEMS treatment. Conclusions: The management of esophageal anastomotic leaks after Ivor Lewis esophagectomy with SEMS is effective, safe and technically feasible. Aggressive non-surgical management should be considered when developing a treatment plan for stenting.
Efficacy of endoscopic management of leak after foregut surgery with endoscopic covered self-expanding metal stents (SEMS)

Abstract:Introduction: Anastomotic or staple-line leak after foregut surgery presents a formidable management challenge. In recent years, with advancement of endoscopy, self-expanding covered stents have been gaining popularity. In this study, we aimed to determine the safety and effectiveness of self-expanding covered stents in management of leak after foregut surgery. Methods: Consecutive patients who received a fully covered self-expandable metal stent (SEMS) due to an anastomotic leak after upper gastrointestinal surgery between 2009 and 2014 were retrospectively reviewed. Demographic data, stent placement and removal, clinical success, time to resolution, and complications were collected. Predictive factors for clinical success rate were assessed. Results: A total of 20 consecutive patients underwent placement of fully covered SEMS for anastomotic leak, following esophagectomy (n = 5), esophageal diverticulectomy (n = 1), gastric sleeve (n = 4), gastric bypass (n = 3), partial gastrectomy (n = 4), and total gastrectomy (n = 3). All the stents were removed successfully, and clinical resolution was achieved in 18 patients (90 %) after a median of two (range 1-3) procedures and a mean of 6.2 weeks (range 0.4-14). Complications presented in 12 patients (60 %), including stent migration (n = 8), mucosal friability (n = 4), tissue integration (n = 2), and bleeding (n = 2). Two (10 %) patients' treatment was complicated by aorto-esophageal fistula formation resulting in one death. Demographic factors, comorbidities, and type of surgery were not predictive of clinical success rate or time to resolution. Conclusion: SEMS are effective tools for the management of leaks after foregut surgery. The biggest challenge with this approach is stent migration. Caution is warranted due to the risk of fatal complications such as aorto-esophageal fistula formation. No type of surgery or particular patient factor, including age, sex, BMI, albumin, history of radiation, malignancy, and comorbid diabetes or coronary artery disease, appeared to be correlated with success rate. Larger studies are needed to determine factors predictive of clinical success.

Abstract:BACKGROUND: Endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) post-procedure stricture is a relatively common long-term complication following ESD treatment. A range of approaches has been implemented for the treatment of post-procedural stricture using endoscopic techniques such as endoscopic dilation, self-expandable metallic stent insertion, local steroid injection in the esophagus, oral steroid administration, radial incision and cutting (RIC). The actual efficacy of these different therapeutic options is highly variable, and uniform international standards for the prevention or treatment of stricture.CASE SUMMARY: In this report, we describe the case of a 51-year-old male diagnosed with early esophageal cancer. To protect against esophageal stricture, the patient was administered oral steroids and underwent self-expandable metallic stent insertion for 45 d. Despite these interventions, stricture was detected at the lower edge of the stent following its removal. The patient remained refractory to multiple rounds of endoscopic bougie dilation treatment, and thus suffered from complex refractory benign esophageal stricture. As such, RIC combined with bougie dilation and steroid injection was employed to treat this patient more effectively, ultimately achieving satisfactory therapeutic efficacy.CONCLUSION: Combination of RIC, dilation, and steroid injection can be safely and effectively implemented to treat cases of post-ESD refractory esophageal stricture.

Abstract:Message Oesophageal strictures following circumferential endoscopic submucosal dissection (cESD) for extended early oesophageal cancer remain an unresolved issue since they are often treatment-refractory. We present a strategy to use topical steroids for submucosal injection during ESD followed by two postprocedural injection sessions. Doses between 70 and 120 mg of triamcinolone (2 mg/mL) were used. During a follow-up of a mean of 6 months (range: 3–12 months), only 1/9 of patients developed a stricture which resolved after one dilatation session. No adverse events were noted. This concept should be tested further in larger prospective trials. Abstract:Objective: The objective of this study is to evaluate the feasibility and efficacy of endoscopic full-thickness resection (EFTR) and fully covered retrievable self-expandable metal stents (SEMSs) placement for this kind of tumors. Methods: A total of six consecutive patients, presenting with esophageal and GE junction SMTs, received EFTR and SEMSs placement at the our endoscopic center between January 2015 and June 2015. Their medical records were thoroughly investigated. Results: EFTR was performed successfully in all cases. The en bloc resection rate was 100%. The final pathological diagnoses were leiomyomas in all six cases. No patients developed delayed bleeding. SEMSs were placed immediately after EFTR during the same endoscopic session except patient #1. Complete healing of esophageal leakage after stent placement was achieved for 6/6 patients (100%) without the need for surgical interventions. Stent migration occurred in one patient. No residual tumor or tumor recurrence was observed during the follow-up period. Conclusions: EFTR combined with fully covered retrievable self-expandable metallic stents placement is a feasible and effective new method for providing radical treatments for SMTs from the deep MP layer of esophagus and GE junction. Standardization of the procedure should be studied further.
Metal stent dilation in the treatment of benign esophageal stricture by interventional procedure: a follow-up study

Abstract:AIM: To make a follow-up study of benign esophageal stricture treated with metal stent dilation by interventional procedure. METHODS: There were 75 cases of benign esophageal stricture with metal stent dilation by interventional procedure, in which 25 cases were with permanent (group A) and 50 cases with temporary (group B) placement of expandable metallic stent respectively. All cases were completed under fluoroscopy. 15 partial covered and 10 uncovered expandable metallic stents were temporarily placed in the group A. 50 partial covered expandable metallic stents were temporarily placed in the group B and drawn out within 3 ∼ 7 days via gastroscopy. All stents placement and drawing were technically successful. Diameters of the strictured esophagus were 0.5 ∼ 8.3 mm before dilations and 8.7 ∼ 21.0 mm after dilations. Dysphagia scores of all cases were from grade 2 to grade 4 before dilations and from grade 0 to grade 1 after dilations. Follow-up periods of all cases was from 6 months to 54 months [mean (23.3 ± 15.2) months]. RESULTS: Complications in 25 cases of group A were chest pain (n = 10), reflux (n = 15), bleeding (n = 3) and stent migration (n = 4). 5 (20 %) in 25 cases of group A were dysphagia relapse during follow-up over 6 months; 3 (25 %) in 12 cases, over 12 months; and 3 (60 %) in 5 cases, over 36 months. Complications in 50 cases of group B were chest pain (n = 20), reflux (n = 10) and bleeding (n = 7). 7 (14 %) in 50 cases of group B were dysphagia relapse during follow-up over 6 months, 6 (15%) in 40 cases, over 12 months, and 4 (16 %) in 25 cases, over 36 months, respectively. CONCLUSION: Temporary placement of partial covered expandable metallic stent was the first treatment method of esophageal stenosis with interventional procedure in mid and long-term therapeutic efficiency.

Abstract:It has recently become clear that airways disease associated with eosinophilic airway inflammation, but not other patterns of inflammation, is closely associated with favourable short-and long-term responses to corticosteroid therapy, irrespective of the clinical context in which it occurs. Moreover, a raised exhaled nitric oxide (FENO) is a reasonable marker of eosinophilic airway inflammation, which has a number of advantages as a diagnostic and monitoring tool. In this review we outline essential background information on the use of FENO in clinical practice and discuss some recent work evaluating the clinical value of this technique.

Abstract:Objective To analyze the clinical efficacy and relative influence factors of self-expanding metallic stents (SEMS) in treating colorectal cancer obstruction.Methods Information of 47 patients received SEMS to treat colorectal cancer obstruction from Mar.2012 to Dec.2017 in Beijing Haidian Hospital were collected,who were then followed up in outpatient or by telephone.Effective rate,survival rate and complications were recorded and calculated by the software of SPSS 17.0.Chi-square test was used to analyze relative influence factors.Results Results shown that the clinical efficacy was 100％ (47/47).Patients' 30-day survival rate and 6-month survival rate were 87.2％ (41/47) and 68.1％ (32/47),respectively.After surgery,2 patients presented with perforation,3 patients presented with migration and 5 patients presented with reobstruction.Clinical stage of tumor and stent length were related with complications and survival.Therein,complications presented more in patients with advanced cancer.And the longer stent length,the higher mortality.Conclusions Clinical stage of tumor and stent length maybe risk factors of complications and survival of patients after SEMS surgery of colorectal cancer obstruction.
