Abstract:We investigated whether TESPA1 gene polymorphisms were associated with increased risk of developing ankylosing spondylitis (AS). We also studied whether TESPA1 gene interacts with environmental factors. A total of 494 patients with AS and 478 matched healthy controls were genotyped for four SNPs (rs1801876, rs2171497, rs4758994, and rs997173) in the TESPA1 gene. We found no evidence of association between these SNPs and AS susceptibility, and between their haplotypes and the disease. But, patients with rs1801876 GA, GG, and AA genotypes had significantly different Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Functional Index (BASFI) scores ( p = 0.023). There were significantly different visual analogue scale (VAS) night pain assessment scores ( p = 0.040) and BASFI scores ( p = 0.023) among different genotypes at rs2171497 locus. There were also significantly different chest expansion scores ( p = 0.042) and Bath Ankylosing Spondylitis Disease Activity Index (BASDAI) scores ( p = 0.014) among different genotypes at rs997173 locus. For multiple testing, Bonferroni correction was performed. After Bonferroni correction, clinical characteristics of these three loci showed association between different genotype groups. These findings indicated that the TESPA1 gene is not involved in AS genetic predisposition in the Han Chinese population; however, it may play an important role in the clinical characteristics of AS.
Associations between ERAP1 polymorphisms and ankylosing spondylitis susceptibility: An updated meta-analysis.

Abstract:Objective. The relationship between the endoplasmic reticulum aminopeptidase 1 (ERAP1) polymorphisms and ankylosing spondylitis (AS) was inconsistent in the recent literatures, a meta-analysis was therefore performed. Methods. A total of 25 independent studies with 24,271 AS patients and 42,666 controls were included after searching electronic databases for studies published before June 2014. The pooled and individual odds ratios (ORs) with 95% confidence intervals (CIs) were presented to assess the associations between ERAP1 polymorphisms and AS in different ethnicities. Results. This meta-analysis includes 25 studies that investigate 8 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs; rs17482078, rs30187, rs2287987, rs27044, rs26653, rs10050860, rs27037, and rs27434) in ERAP1 gene. Overall, six SNPs were associated with AS; two SNPs (rs27044 and rs26653) were not when all studies were pooled into the meta-analysis (rs27044 G vs. C, OR = 1.058, 95% CI = 0.827-1.354; rs26653 C vs. G, OR = 1.154, 95% CI = 0.937-1.422). In Caucasians, all the 8 SNPs were significantly associated with AS. But 5 SNPs (rs17482078, rs2287987, rs27044, rs26653, and rs10050860) did not show statistical association with the risk of AS in Asians. Conclusion. ERAP1 polymorphisms were associated with AS in Caucasians, but their association with AS in Asians needs further exploration.
Association of IL-1 Gene Complex Members with Ankylosing Spondylitis in Chinese Han Population.

Abstract:There are reports of IL-1 complex gene polymorphisms in ankylosing spondylitis (AS; MIM 106300), but the results have been inconsistent among populations. Moreover, few studies examine the association between IL-1 complex gene polymorphisms and clinical symptoms of AS patients. We investigated polymorphisms of IL-1 complex with AS in the Chinese Han population in this study. Chinese Han AS patients and ethnically matched healthy controls were genotyped for five single nucleotide polymorphisms (IL1beta+3953, beta-511, F10.3, RN.4, RN.6/1) and the IL1RN.VNTR of IL-1 gene cluster. Allele, Genotype and haplotype frequencies were compared between cases and controls by SHEsis software. The frequency of allele C of the marker IL1F10.3 was significantly increased in AS patients versus controls [p = 0.001, odds ratio (OR) = 1.54, 95% confidence interval (CI) = 1.19-1.20; p = 0.002, respectively]. Strong linkage disequilibrium was identified between IL1B-511, IL1B+3953 and RN4 in both patients and healthy controls (D' > 0.95). Haplotypes of pairs of these markers (6) were also significantly associated with AS. The strongest associations observed was between allele combination B-511-T/B+3953-C/F10.3-C/RN4-T/RN2VNTR-1/RN6.1-C and AS (p = 3.32 x 10(-5), OR = 4.41, 95% CI=2.1-9.3). Clinical manifestation showed week association between RN2VNTR A2 allele and risk of peripheral arthritis (OR = 0.2, 95% CI = 0.07-0.91). The IL-1 gene cluster is associated with AS in Chinese population. This finding provides strong statistical support for the previously observed relationship and indicates possible association between clinical manifestation and genetic factor.
No Significant Association Between Fc Receptor-Like 3 Gene Polymorphisms and Human Leukocyte Antigen-B27 Positive Ankylosing Spondylitis in Han Chinese Population

Abstract:Ankylosing spondylitis (AS) is a rhematoid arthritis, which is a common autoimmune disease with a complex genetic etiology. Although HLA-B27 has been identified to be associated with AS, a number of other genes may also be involved in the disease. Fc receptor-like 3 (FCRL3) gene has been shown to be associated with rheumatoid arthritis in Japanese population. Here we aim to explore the association FCRL3 gene and susceptibility to human leukocyte antigen (HLA)-B27-positive AS in Han Chinese population. Among 169 AS patients, the frequencies of C and T (rs7522061) in FCRL3 gene were 38.7 and 61.3%, respectively; in 184 controls (HLA-B27-positive), the frequencies of C and T were 38.6 and 61.4%, respectively. The frequencies of alleles and genotype are not of statistically significant difference in two groups (χ2 = 0.000, P = 0.983; χ2 = 0.099, P = 0.952, respectively),but the distribution of HLA-B27 subtypes are statistically significant difference between cases and controls (χ2 = 8.214, P = 0.042). Our data reveal that the FCRL3 gene does not appear associated with susceptibility to HLA-B27-positive AS in Han Chinese population.
Association analysis of B7‐H3 and B7‐H4 gene single nucleotide polymorphisms in susceptibility to ankylosing spondylitis in eastern Chinese Han population

Abstract:This study was conducted to describe the association between the genetic variation of the recently identified immune checkpoint molecules B7-H3 and B7-H4, and the susceptibility to ankylosing spondylitis (AS). Two single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of B7-H3 gene and three SNPs of B7-H4 gene were genotyped in 649 AS patients and 646 age- and sex-matched healthy controls. Allele, genotype frequencies and different inheritance models were performed to calculate odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (CIs), and the demographic and clinical parameters of patients were recorded. Our data indicated that B7-H4 rs10801935 and rs3738414 polymorphisms were correlated with AS susceptibility. In the stratification analyses, the minor A allele and GA genotype of B7-H4 rs3738414 increased the risk of AS in male patients (OR = 1.244, 95%CI = 1.026–1.508; OR = 1.453, 95%CI = 1.120–1.886, respectively). However, the association did not reach statistical significance after Bonferroni correction. Furthermore, haplotype analysis revealed that B7-H4 haplotype block TAG was a risk factor for the onset of AS (OR = 1.190, 95%CI = 1.020–1.389). These findings suggested that B7-H4 gene polymorphism may contribute to AS susceptibility in eastern Chinese Han population.

Abstract:Objective To examine the suscepribility of the single nucleotide polymorphisms(SNPs)in IL-1 gene in Chinese Han population to ankylosing spondylitis (AS). Methods An correlation analysis was performed in a case-control cohort of 162 AS cases, 58 patients with other autoimmune diseases and 162 controls. Four SNPs located in the IL-1 gene (rs16944, rs3811058, rs419598, rs315952) were examined by polymerase chain reaction restriction fragment length polymorphism(PCR-RFLP). Results The frequencies of allele C at position rs16944, rs3811058, rs419598 significantly increased in AS cases VS controls, so did their genotype frequencies (50% vs 36.3%, 57.9% vs 52.8%, 45.7% vs 12.3%, P＜0.05). The SNPs of these sites significantly influenced the prevalence of AS. Conclusion We discover that SNPs of IL-1 gene Rs16944, Rs419598, Rs3811058 is closely related to the occurrence of AS.
Lack of associations between two previously identified susceptible single nucleotide polymorphisms of interleukin-23 receptor gene and ankylosing spondylitis: a replication study in a Chinese Han population

Abstract:Background The human leukocyte antigen (HLA)-B27 gene is considered to be a major gene associated with predisposition to ankylosing spondylitis (AS); however, studies have demonstrated that non-HLA-B27 genes also contribute substantially to the susceptibility to AS. Two single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs), rs1004819 and rs10889677, of the interleukin-23 receptor (IL-23R) gene have been shown to be associated with AS susceptibility in European populations. However, ethnicity factors contribute to population splitting and genetic variation, and ethnic-specific genetic association studies are needed to validate these associations in patients from different ethnic backgrounds. This study therefore aimed to replicate the associations between these two SNPs and AS susceptibility in a Chinese Han population. Methods A total of 195 AS patients and 203 normal controls were recruited in this study. Two IL-23R gene SNPs, rs1004819 and rs10889677 were selected. Genotyping was performed in all subjects using the TaqMan probe method. Genotype and allele frequencies were compared between AS patients and normal controls by χ 2 tests. Results There were no significant differences in either the genotype frequencies (TT 36.4%, TC 48.7% and CC 14.9% in AS patients; TT 35.0%, TC 50.0% and CC 15.0% in normal controls) or allele frequencies (T 60.8% and C 39.2% in AS patients; T 60.0% and C 40.0% in normal controls) of rs1004819 between AS patients and normal controls (P > 0.05). In addition, both the genotype frequencies (AA 51.3%, AC 43.1% and CC 5.6% in AS patients; AA 57.6%, AC 35.5% and CC 6.9% in normal controls) and allele frequencies (A 72.8% and C 27.2% in AS patients; A 75.4% and C 24.6% in normal controls) of rs10889677 were also comparable between AS patients and normal controls (P > 0.05). Conclusions This study found no evidence for an association between either of the two previously identified AS-susceptibility IL-23R SNPs (rs1004819 and rs10889677) and onset of AS, indicating a possible difference in pathogenesis of AS between Chinese and European patients.

Abstract:Genetics play a key role in ankylosing spondylitis (AS). A previous genome-wide association study (GWAS) showed that rs4552569 (on 5q14.3) and rs17095830 (on 12q12) were associated with the risk of AS in Han Chinese, which was not replicated in other two studies. In the current study, rs4552569 and rs17095830 were genotyped in 735 Han Chinese AS patients and 1204 healthy controls using high resolution melting analysis (HRMA). We compared the distributions of genotypes and alleles between AS cases and healthy controls. Rs30187 and rs10865331, which were reported to be associated with AS susceptibility in various populations, were also genotyped and analyzed as positive controls. The results showed that no association between rs4552569/rs17095830 polymorphisms and AS susceptibility was found. On the other hand, an association between rs17095830 and one of AS complication (inflammatory bowel disease) was observed (allelic P value=0.0180; odds ratio[OR]=1.739; 95% confidence interval [CI]=1.146-2.639).

Abstract:Introduction: Leukocyte immunoglobulin-like receptor A3 (LILRA3) belongs to the LILR family with unique feature of a 6.7-kb deletion variation among individuals. Frequencies of the 6.7-kb deletion vary widely across populations, but so far it has not been carefully investigated among Han Chinese subpopulations. Furthermore, we previously identified the non-deleted (functional) LILRA3 as a novel genetic risk for multiple autoimmune diseases. The current study aimed to investigate (i) whether frequencies of the LILRA3 6.7-kb deletion differ within Han Chinese subpopulations and (ii) whether the functional LILRA3 is a novel genetic risk for ankylosing spondylitis (AS). Methods: The LILRA3 6.7-kb deletion was genotyped in two independent cohorts, including 1,567 subjects from Shenzhen Hospital and 2,507 subjects from People's Hospital of Peking University. Frequencies of the 6.7-kb deletion were first investigated in combined healthy cohort according to the Chinese administrative district divisions. Association analyses were performed on whole dataset and subsets according to the geographic regions. Impact of the functional LILRA3 on AS disease activity was evaluated. Results: Frequencies of LILRA3 6.7-kb deletion were highly differentiated within Han Chinese subpopulations, being gradually decreased from Northeast (80.6%) to South (47.4%). Functional LILRA3 seemed to be a strong genetic risk in susceptibility to AS under almost all the alternative genetic models, if the study subjects were not geographically stratified. However, stratification analysis revealed that the functional LILRA3 was consistently associated with AS susceptibility mainly in Northern Han subgroup under the alternative genetic models, but not in Central and Southern Hans. Functional LILRA3 conferred an increased disease activity in AS patients (P < 0.0001 both for CRP and ESR, and P = 0.003 for BASDAI). Conclusions: The present study is the first to report that the frequencies of LILRA3 6.7-kb deletion vary among Chinese Hans across geographic regions. The functional LILRA3 is associated with AS susceptibility mainly in Northern Han, but not in Central and Southern Han subgroups. Our finding provides new evidence that LILRA3 is a common genetic risk for multiple autoimmune diseases and highlights the genetic differentiation among different ethnicities, even within the subpopulations of an ethnic group.

Abstract:Objective: Ankylosing spondylitis (AS) is an inflammatory disease of unknown origin. Both genetic and environmental factors are involved. A recent genome-wide association study (GWAS) found anthrax toxin receptor 2 (ANTXR2) to be associated with AS in Caucasians. We aimed to investigate whether the ANTXR2 polymorphism is also associated with AS in a Chinese Shandong Han population. Methods: From 2008 to 2009, we recruited 309 patients with AS and 384 age-and sex-matched controls of Han nationality. We selected six single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) of ANTXR2 (rs4333130, rs6534708, rs6818557, rs12646132, rs12509658, and rs13140055) and genotyped them by polymerase chain reaction restriction fragment-length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) and Taqman methods. We analysed linkage disequilibrium and constructed haplotypes. Results: Cases and controls did not differ in the frequency of ANTXR2 alleles, genotypes, or haplotypes. Thus, the six SNPs of ANTXR2 are not associated with AS in our Chinese Shandong Han population. Conclusions: ANTXR2 might not be a susceptibility gene of AS in Chinese Han.

Abstract:Objectives: The aim of this study was to test whether orosomucoid like 3 (ORMDL3) and 17q21 variants are associated with susceptibility to ankylosing spondylitis (AS) in a Chinese population. Method: A total of 753 unrelated AS patients and 1120 ethnically matched healthy controls were recruited. Seven single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs: rs7216389, rs12603332, rs12936231, rs9303277, rs11557467, rs1007654, and rs17608925), which were selected from chromosome 17q21 containing the genes ORMDL3, GSDMB, ZPBP2, and IKZF3, were genotyped by the Taqman SNP genotyping assay. Results: Five of the SNPs (rs7216389, rs12603332, rs12936231, rs9303277, and rs11557467) were associated with AS (all p <= 0.01), especially in males (all p < 0.001). Of these, rs7216389, rs12603332, rs12936231, and rs11557467 were strongly associated with severity of the disease based on radiographic findings (p < 0.05). Conclusions: Our study confirmed that variants in chromosome 17q21 are significantly associated with AS in a Chinese Han population.

Abstract:Ankylosing spondylitis (AS) is a chronic inflammatory disease with complex genetic traits. Multiple sequence variations have been associated with AS, but explained only a proportion of heritability. The studies herein aimed to explore potential associations between genomic copy number (CN) variation (CNV) and AS in Han Chinese. Five AS patients were examined with the high-density comparative genomic hybridization microarrays in the first screen test for AS-associated CNVs. A total of 533 AS patients and 792 unrelated controls were examined in confirmation studies with the AccuCopy assays. A significant association was observed between the CNV of HLA-DQA1 and that of AS. Compared with controls, AS patients showed an aberrant CN, and a significantly increased number of patients had more than two copies of HLA-DQA1. Therefore, the CNV of HLA-DQA1 may have an important role in susceptibility to AS in the Han Chinese population.

Abstract:Background: The study aimed to explore the genetic association of Fc receptor-like 5 (FCRL5) gene variants (rs6427384 and rs6692977) with ankylosing spondylitis risk in Chinese Han population. Material/Methods: Genotyping for FCRL5 gene variations rs6427384 and rs6692977 was implemented among 130 ankylosing spondylitis cases and 135 healthy persons, through polymerase chain reaction restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP) method. Frequency dissimilarity for 2 polymorphisms was compared between 2 groups using chi-square test. The association strength of FCRL5 gene polymorphism with ankylosing spondylitis risk was estimated by odds ratios with 95% confidence intervals. Results: The frequencies of rs6427384 CC genotype and C allele were significantly lower in the case group than that in the control group (P<0.05), which suggested that C allele of rs6427384 polymorphism might offer protection against ankylosing spondylitis onset. Whereas only 2 genotypes of rs6692977 were detected in the control group, and no significant association was found with ankylosing spondylitis susceptibility. Conclusions: FCRL5 gene polymorphism rs6427384 was correlated to ankylosing spondylitis occurrence among Chinese Han population, while rs6692977 was not.
Association Between ERAP1 Gene Polymorphisms and Ankylosing Spondylitis Susceptibility in Han Population.

Abstract:PURPOSES The present study was designed to investigate the relationship between endoplasmic reticulum amino peptidase 1 (ERAP1) gene polymorphisms and ankylosing spondylitis (AS) in Han population of Shaanxi province. METHODS 100 AS patients and 100 healthy people were enrolled in present study as case and control groups respectively, and the control group was matched with the case group by age and gender. ERAP1 gene rs27434 and rs7711564 polymorphisms were test by TaqMan probe genotyping method. SHEsis software was used to operate linkage disequilibrium (LD) and haplotype analysis between the two single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs). χ(2) test was employed to compare the differences of the genotype, allele and haplotype frequencies between the case and control groups. Relative risk of AS was represented by odds ratios (ORs) and 95% confidence intervals (95% CIs). RESULTS In ERAP1 rs27434 and rs7711564 polymorphisms, the frequencies of AA and CC genotypes in case group were significantly higher compared to those in control group (P=0.036; P=0.039), and so were the frequencies of A and C alleles (OR=1.589, 95% CI=1.070-2.359, P=0.028; OR=1.535, 95% CI=1.021-2.308, P=0.050). Linkage disequilibrium test and haplotype analysis of the alleles of the two SNPs showed that the frequency of A-C haplotype was higher in case group than that in control group (P=0.005), which indicated that A-C might be the susceptible haplotype to AS. CONCLUSIONS ERAP1 gene rs27434 and rs7711564 polymorphisms may increase the risk of AS.
Genetic overlap between psoriatic arthritis and ankylosing spondylitis in a Chinese population

Abstract:Previous studies reveal that psoriatic arthritis (PsA) and ankylosing spondylitis (AS) share susceptibility genes, such as HLA-B27, demonstrating a degree of genetic overlap between these diseases. Recent studies have identified a number of novel AS and PsA genetic susceptibility loci, but data on these loci in Chinese PsA patients are limited. To identify candidate genes that confer susceptibility to PsA in Chinese patients with PsA, psoriasis vulgaris (PsV), and healthy controls. Sixteen susceptibility loci, reported in a genome-wide association study of AS, and nine susceptibility loci, reported in candidate gene studies of PsA, were examined. Single-nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) were genotyped in 503 patients with PsA, 496 patients with PsV, and 979 healthy controls using the SNPscanTM multiplex SNP genotyping platform. PLINK software and logistic regression analysis were used to estimate the statistical significance of associations. PPP2R3C (rs8006884) was shown to significantly associate with PsA+PsV (p = 1.92×10-3, OR = 1.28) and was suggested to associate with PsV (p = 0.03, OR = 1.19). A suggestive association was also observed between IL-23R (rs12141575) and PsA as well as with axial PsA based on subtype analysis, KIF3A (rs2897442) and PsV, and ERN1 (rs196941) or IFIH1 (rs984971) and axial PsA. Our results suggest that PPP2R3C confers susceptibility to PsA and PsV, and that this gene may be related to the pathogenesis of psoriatic lesions and arthritis. Moreover, our results indicate a possible association between IL-23R, ERN1, or IFIH1 and subtypes of PsA, and between KIF3A and PsV.

Abstract:BACKGROUND:Interleukin 1(IL-1) gene cluster contains a major susceptibility locus for ankylosing spondylitis.Its polymorphisms are correlated with the susceptibility of ankylosing spondylitis.The study results are often different in different population.OBJECTIVE:To analyze the correlation between polymorphism of IL-1 receptor antagonist(IL-1RN) gene and patients with ankylosing spondylitis.The patients are the population of Han nationality of Hubei Province in China.METHODS:DNA samples were collected from 140 patients with ankylosing spondylitis and 130 healthy as controls.The IL-1RN VNTR polymorphisms were determined by PCR method.All patients are of Han nationality and lived in Hubei Province for three generations at least.RESULTS AND CONCLUSION:Compared with the healthy controls,IL-1RN VNTR*2 allelic frequency in patients with ankylosing spondylitis was significant higher(P<0.05).

Abstract:Human leucocyte antigen (HLA) B*27 is a susceptibility allele to ankylosing spondylitis (AS). However, major AS-associated subtypes of HLA-B*27 and other HLA-B alleles vary in different ethnic populations. Herein, we examined HLA-B alleles in a total of 360 AS patients and 350 controls of Chinese Han ancestry. The HLA-B genotyping was performed with sequence-based typing (SBT) method. Six HLA-B*27 subtypes B*27:04, B*27:05, B*27:07, B*27:08, B*27:10 and B*27:15 were observed in the cohorts. HLA-B*27:04:01 and -B*27:05:02 appeared significantly increased in AS patients, which indicated as two major susceptibility alleles to AS. Homozygous B*27 was observed only in AS patients. There are 30 HLA-B alleles identified in the studies. HLA-B*15, especially B*15:01:01:01, appeared as the major allele type in the Chinese controls. Some common HLA-B alleles such as HLA-B*15, B*13, B*46 and B*51 were significantly reduced in Chinese AS patients. In conclusion, the studies profiled the HLA-B alleles, and identified major susceptibility subtypes of B27 to AS in Han Chinese population

Abstract:<h3 class="u-h4 u-margin-m-top u-margin-xs-bottom">Objective</h3><p>To investigate the association of FOXO3a polymorphisms and ankylosing spondylitis (AS) susceptibility in Eastern Chinese Han population.</p><h3 class="u-h4 u-margin-m-top u-margin-xs-bottom">Methods</h3><p>FOXO3a polymorphisms rs12206094, rs12212067, rs2253310, rs3800232, and rs4946933 were genotyped in 650 AS patients and 646 controls by the improved Multiple Ligase Detection Reaction.</p><h3 class="u-h4 u-margin-m-top u-margin-xs-bottom">Results</h3><p>The distribution of genotype in rs12212067 polymorphism was significantly different between AS patients and controls (<em>P</em> = 0.020), especially in male population (<em>P</em> = 0.009). There was significant difference of the genotype frequency distribution at rs3800232 between patients and controls in male population. The results of binary regression analysis showed that the rs12212067 GG genotype and rs3800232 TT genotype were obviously correlated with elevated AS risk, and the associations were still significant after being adjusted by age and gender (all <em>P</em> < 0.05). Interestingly, rs12212067 and rs3800232 genotypes were associated with disease activity of patients. Additionally, haplotype block rs12212067<sup>G</sup>- rs3800232<sup>T</sup> (OR = 1.403, 95%CI = 1.011-1.949) was further shown to confer promoting effect on developing AS.</p><h3 class="u-h4 u-margin-m-top u-margin-xs-bottom">Conclusion</h3><p>Among Eastern Chinese Han population, FOXO3a polymorphism rs12212067 and rs3800232 may contribute to increased risk of developing AS, but well-designed multicenter studies are needed to further confirm these preliminary findings in the future.</p>

Abstract:Background: sIL-6R is involved in a variety of inflammatory diseases. The present study analyzed the potential associations between two IL6R gene polymorphisms (rs2228145 and rs12083537) and asthma in a Han Chinese population. Methods: A cohort of 394 patients and 395 healthy controls were genotyped to detect the two polymorphisms using SNaPshot. In 66 asthma patients and 49 controls, peripheral eosinophil and serum immunoglobulin E (IgE) levels were determined using a routine blood test, and sIL-6R levels were measured by ELISA. Results: No statistically significant differences were detected between the patients and controls in the distribution of the two independent IL6R polymorphisms (p>0.05). However, rs2228145 C and rs12083537 G were significantly associated with decreased lung function in patients with asthma; the rs2228145 A–C variant was also associated with increased sIL-6R and IgE levels. In addition, sIL-6R levels were positively associated with IgE and inversely associated with lung function in patients with asthma. Conclusions: Our results provide evidence that rs2228145 C and rs12083537 G are associated with poor lung function in patients with asthma. Furthermore, the rs2228145 A–C variant is associated with levels of sIL-6R and IgE.
