Abstract:Objective To compare long-term quality of life in women treated for early-stage endometrial cancer with population norms, and to compare quality of life outcomes of patients who had total laparoscopic or total abdominal hysterectomy. Methods Once the last enrolled patient had completed 4.5 years of follow-up after surgery, participants in the Laparoscopic Approach to Cancer of the Endometrium (LACE) clinical trial were asked to complete a self-administered questionnaire. Two instruments—EuroQol 5 Dimension 3-level (EQ-5D-3L) and the Functional Assessment of Cancer Treatment-General Population (FACT-GP)—were used to determine quality of life. The mean computed EQ-5D-3L index scores for LACE participants at different age categories were compared with Australian normative scores; and the FACT-GP scores were compared between patients treated with surgical treatments. Results Of 760 women originally enrolled in the LACE trial, 259 (50.2%) of 516 women consented to provide long-term follow-up data at a median of 9 years (range 6—12) after surgery. On the EQ-5D-3L, long-term endometrial cancer survivors reported higher prevalence of anxiety/depression than normative levels across all age groups (55–64 years, 30% vs 14.9%; 65–74 years, 30.1% vs 15.8%; ≥75 years, 25.9% vs 10.7%). For women ≥75 years of age, the prevalence of impairment in mobility (57.6% vs 43.3%) and usual activities (58.8% vs 37.9%) was also higher than for population norms. For the FACT-GP, the physical (effect size: −0.28, p<0.028) and functional (effect size: −0.30, p<0.015) well-being sub-scale favored the total laparoscopic hysterectomy compared with total abdominal hysterectomy recipients. Conclusion Compared with population-based norms, long-term endometrial cancer survivors reported higher prevalence of anxiety/depression across all age groups, and deficits in mobility and usual activities for women aged ≥75 years. Physical and functional well-being were better among women who were treated with total laparoscopic hysterectomy than among those receiving total abdominal hysterectomy.

Abstract:Background: Mannitol increases intravascular volume by withdrawing water from the brain and causes significant changes in stroke volume, cardiac output (CO), systemic vascular resistance, central venous pressure (CVP), and blood pressure. No previous studies have demonstrated changes in left ventricular (LV) preload, afterload, and CO using transesophageal echocardiography (TEE). Methods: Fifteen adult patients undergoing elective supratentorial craniotomy received 20% mannitol 1.0 gm/kg over 15 minutes before dural opening. The following hemodynamic and TEE-derived parameters were recorded before and after the administration of mannitol: heart rate (HR), mean arterial pressure (MAP), CVP, LV end diastolic area (EDA), end systolic area, fractional area change, stroke volume, and CO. Results: EDA and CVP significantly increased at 5 minutes (P=0.002 and <0.001) after mannitol infusion and remained insignificantly elevated till 15 minutes, thereafter returning to baseline values. CO also increased significantly at 5 and 15 minutes (P=0.001 and 0.013) and remained insignificantly elevated till 25 minutes, and thereafter returned to baseline values. A concomitant significant decline in systemic vascular resistance was observed at 5 and 15 minutes (P=0.002 and 0.008 at 5 and 15 min, respectively). Although EDA increased significantly at 5 minutes, there were no appreciable changes in MAP and HR throughout the study period. Conclusions: In conclusion, in patients undergoing craniotomy, TEE demonstrated that a single bolus dose of 20% mannitol (1.0 gm/kg) caused significant but short-duration alterations in LV preload, afterload, and CO without concomitant changes in hemodynamic variables (MAP/HR).

Abstract:Abstract Background With the growing number of older endometrial cancer (EC) and ovarian cancer (OC) survivors, data on long-term health-related quality of life (HRQoL) became an important issue in the management of older patients. So, the aim of this study was to describe and compare according to age long-term HRQoL, sexual function, and social deprivation of adults with either EC or OC. Methods A cross-sectional study was set up using data from the Côte d’Or gynecological cancer registry. A series of questionnaires assessing HRQoL (SF-12), sexual function (FSFI), anxiety/depression (HADS), social support (SSQ6) and deprivation (EPICES) were offered to women with EC or OC diagnosed between 2006 and 2013. HRQoL, sexual function, anxiety/depression, social support and deprivation scores were generated and compared according to age (< 70 years and ≥ 70 years). Results A total of 145 women with EC (N = 103) and OC (N = 42) participated in this study. Fifty-six percent and 38% of EC and OC survivors respectively were aged 70 and over. Treatment did not differ according to age either in OC or EC. The deprivation level did not differ between older and younger survivors with OC while older survivors with EC were more precarious. The physical HRQoL was more altered in older EC survivors. This deterioration concerned only physical functioning (MD = 24, p = 0.012) for OC survivors while it concerned physical functioning (MD = 30, p < 0.0001), role physical (MD = 22, p = 0.001) and bodily pain (MD = 21, p = 0.001) for EC survivors. Global health (MD = 11, p = 0.011) and role emotional (MD = 12, p = 0.018) were also deteriorated in elderly EC survivors. Sexual function was deteriorated regardless of age and cancer location with a more pronounced deterioration in elderly EC survivors for desire ( p = 0.005), arousal ( p = 0.015) and orgasm ( p = 0.007). Social support, anxiety and depression were not affected by age regardless of location. Conclusion An average 6 years after diagnosis, the impact of cancer on HRQoL is greatest in elderly survivors with either EC or OC.

Abstract:New cyclic quaternary ammonium salts, composed of N-alkyl(alkyl ether)-N-methylpyrrolidinium, -oxazolidinium, -piperidinium, or -morpholinium cations (alkyl = nC4H9, alkyl ether = CH3OCH2, CH3OCH2CH2) and a perfluoroalkyltrifluoroborate anion ([R(F)BF3]-, R(F) = CF3, C2F5, nC3F7, nC4F9), were synthesized and characterized. Most of these salts are liquids at room temperature. The key properties of these salts--phase transitions, thermal stability, density, viscosity, conductivity, and electrochemical windows--were measured and compared to those of their corresponding [BF4]- and [(CF3SO2)2N]- salts. The structural effect on all the above properties was intensively studied in terms of the identity of the cation and anion, variation of the side chain in the cation (i.e., alkyl versus alkyl ether), and change in the length of the perfluoroalkyl group (R(F)) in the [R(F)BF3]- ion. The reduction of Li+ ions and reoxidation of Li metal took place in pure N-butyl-N-methylpyrrolidinium pentafluoroethyltrifluoroborate as the supporting electrolyte. Such comprehensive studies enhance the knowledge necessary to design and optimize ionic liquids for many applications, including electrolytes. Some of these new salts show desirable properties, including low melting points, high thermal stabilities, low viscosities, high conductivities, and wide electrochemical windows, and may thus be potential candidates for use as electrolytes in high-energy storage devices. In addition, many salts are ionic plastic crystals.

Abstract:Aim: To investigate the quality of life in patients with endometrial carcinoma and provide theoretical basis for nursing care. Design: In this study, 69 patients diagnosed with endometrial carcinoma from 2016-2018 were included in the cohort. Methods: Sixty-nine patients from our hospital who underwent endometrial cancer surgeries were selected. The SF-36 was used to investigate and analyse the patients' quality of life in the first, second and third months after their operations. Questionnaires were administered to analyse the factors affecting postoperative quality of life. Results: Quality of life for the second and third months was obviously better than that for the first month after the operation (p < .05). Based on multivariate regression analysis, we found that patients with higher family income had better quality of life after surgery(p < .05). These results can provide some guidance for daily nursing work after endometrial cancer operation.
Associations between treatments, comorbidities and multidimensional aspects of quality of life among patients with advanced cancer in the Netherlands-a 2017-2020 multicentre cross-sectional study

Abstract:Objective: To investigate associations between quality of life (QoL) and 1) immunotherapy and other cancer treatments received three months before QoL measurements, and 2) the comorbidities at the time of completion or in the year prior to QoL measurements, among patients with advanced cancer. Methods: A cross-sectional study is conducted on patients with advanced cancer in the Netherlands. The data come from the baseline wave of the 2017-2020 eQuiPe study. Participants were surveyed via questionnaires (including EORTC QLQ-C30). Using multivariable linear and logistic regression models, we explored statistical associations between QoL components and immunotherapy and other cancer treatments as well as pre-existing comorbidities while adjusting for age, sex, socio-economic status. Results: Of 1088 participants with median age 67 years, 51% were men. Immunotherapy was not associated with global QoL but was associated with reduced appetite loss (odds ratio (OR) = 0.6, 95%CI = [0.3,0.9]). Reduced global QoL was associated with chemotherapy (adjusted mean difference (β) = - 4.7, 95% CI [- 8.5,- 0.8]), back pain (β = - 7.4, 95% CI [- 11.0,- 3.8]), depression (β = - 13.8, 95% CI [- 21.5,- 6.2]), thyroid diseases (β = - 8.9, 95% CI [- 14.0,- 3.8]) and diabetes (β = - 4.5, 95% CI [- 8.9,- 0.5]). Chemotherapy was associated with lower physical (OR = 2.4, 95% CI [1.5,3.9]) and role (OR = 1.8, 95% CI [1.2,2.7]) functioning, and higher pain (OR = 1.9, 95% CI [1.3,2.9]) and fatigue (OR = 1.6, 95% CI [1.1,2.4]). Conclusion: Our study identified associations between specific cancer treatments, lower QoL and more symptoms. Monitoring symptoms may improve QoL of patients with advanced cancer. Producing more evidence from real life data would help physicians in better identifying patients who require additional supportive care.
Personalized comprehensive rehabilitation program after surgical treatment of endometrial cancer: results of a prospective randomized comparative study

Abstract:Aim : to evaluate effectiveness of a personalized comprehensive rehabilitation program in patients after surgical treatment of endometrial cancer (EC). Material and Methods. There were enrolled 61 patients of reproductive age (44.46 ± 3.84 years) after radical treatment of endometrioid adenocarcinoma by stratifying subjects into 2 groups: group I – «active» rehabilitation with a comprehensive program of restorative measures (n = 29), group II – «passive» rehabilitation with standard management of the postoperative period in accordance with volume and timeframe determined by clinical recommendations (n = 32). Quality of life (QоL) was determined using the following questionnaires: Functional Assessment of Cancer Therapy for Patients with Endometrial Cancer (FACT-En), Kupperman-Uvarova Modified Menopausal Index (MMI), The Female Sexual Function Index (FSFI), Hospital Anxiety and Depression Scale (HADS). The program was based on four patient visits expected to occur at week 1 as well as 3, 6, 12 months after surgery, respectively. Results. In was found that 12 months post-surgery MMI in group I was decreased from 40.75 ± 5.69 down to 26.45 ± 4.84 score corresponding to mild postovariectomy syndrome (POES), whereas in group II – from 39.62 ± 5.37 to 36.15 ± 4.06 score estimated as moderate POES. In addition, at this time point patients in group I were noted to virtually fully recover sexual function assessed by FSFI (24.93 ± 2.86 score), whereas in group II it was at markedly lower level (13.39 ± 2.55 score; p < 0.001). According to the HADS, all subjects had level exceeding score of 11 at week 1 post-surgery corresponding to clinically significant anxiety and depression. Moreover, 6- and 12-months post-surgery subjects in group I lacked significant symptoms (score < 7 for each parameter), whereas in group II 12-month follow-up demonstrated subclinical level of anxiety and depression. According to the FACT-En, subjects in group I vs. group II revealed markedly higher QoL on visit 4 reaching 141.31 ± 6.45 and 112.84 ± 6.48 score, respectively. Conclusion. The «active» personalized comprehensive rehabilitation program proposed here demonstrated high efficacy in EC patients after radical surgery compared to subjects underwent standard management in rehabilitation period. Use of the program during 12 months post-surgery allowed to minimize negative manifestations related to POES, positively impacted psycho-emotional status, significantly improved sexual function as well as QoL. Organizing comprehensive rehabilitation in post-surgical EC patients should be considered as one of high-priority approaches in public healthcare.

Abstract:PurposeThere is a lack of robust population-based data regarding the lived experience of cancer survivors. This study assessed the quality of life (QoL) of survivors of breast, colorectal, or prostate cancer, non-Hodgkin lymphoma or melanoma 1, 3 and 5 years post-diagnosis. Associations between various demographic and disease-related factors and QoL were assessed.MethodsA cross-sectional postal survey was undertaken. Eligible participants were identified from a population-based cancer registry. Patient-reported outcomes including QoL, symptom issues and information needs were collected using validated questionnaires.ResultsDifficulties with all QoL domains were more prevalent amongst cancer survivors compared with the general population, particularly difficulties with usual activities (28 vs 15%) and anxiety or depression (35 vs 22%). Symptoms such as trouble sleeping, always feeling tired, trouble concentrating and fear of cancer recurrence persisted up to 5 years post-diagnosis. Factors associated with reduced QoL included having another long-standing health condition, cancer not responding fully to treatment, not having or not being certain of having a written care plan and being female.ConclusionsCancer survivors experience inferior QoL and cancer-related symptoms for years following diagnosis. These results support further investigation into factors that contribute to poorer survivor outcomes and enhanced identification and intervention strategies for those requiring additional support.

Abstract:213 Background: The number of breast cancer survivors is increasing due to improvements in care and an aging population, leading to an increased need for care that addresses the physical and psychological needs of patients after completion of active treatment. The Sunnybrook Breast Cancer Survivorship Program was established to provide comprehensive evidence-based survivorship care and facilitate the transition to family doctors. Despite rising interest in dedicated survivorship care, there is little consensus regarding which individuals are likely to suffer the most long-term impacts of breast cancer treatment. Factors as varied as age, ethnicity, socioeconomic status, and treatment type can influence Quality-of-Life (QoL) outcomes. This cross-sectional assessment uses mixed methods to evaluate QoL trends in the patient cohort. Methods: Current patients of the Sunnybrook Breast Cancer Survivorship Program were asked to complete a baseline information form, as well as the EORTC QLQ-30 and BR-45, two validated measures of QoL for breast cancer patients and survivors. QoL, functional, and symptom domains were calculated from these responses accordingly and analyzed statistically. Patients reported their most bothersome QoL concerns through an open-ended questionnaire, which was analyzed and organized thematically. 99 patients have been recruited to date, of a planned 200. Results: We find that sexual health is of importance for this population, with 50 (50.5%) participants reporting sexual activity. Patients under 50 have poorer sexual functioning scores (p<0.01) as well as more issues with body image (p<0.05) than older survivors. Both married and under-50 patients are significantly more likely to have poorer outlooks on the future (p<0.05; p<0.01). Younger patients also tended to have worse role functioning, cognitive functioning, emotional functioning, and social functioning scores, though these differences were not statistically significant. Thematic analysis of qualitative data showed that patients’ chief concerns were the impact that ongoing side effects had on their daily functioning, impact of treatment on body image, disruptions to work and personal relationships, and strong anxiety about potential recurrence. Conclusions: While it is understood that younger BC survivors face unique challenges, our findings indicate that these obstacles persist into older age groups. In addition to physical side effects, such concerns as body image issues, social strain, and emotional functioning can drive QoL scores for these patients. Notably, many patients endorsed strong anxiety regarding potential recurrence that affected QoL, and identified dedicated survivorship follow-up as an ameliorating factor. Further research should be conducted into the unique needs of under-50 survivors, as well as the role of recurrence anxiety in impacting QoL.

Dynamics of Long-Term Quality of Life after Treatment for Esophageal Cancer: A Community-Based Patient Study

Abstract:PURPOSETo characterize the pattern of post-treatment quality of life (QoL) for esophageal cancer (EC) survivors and construct models predicting their long-term QoL.METHODSOn the basis of a randomized trial in an EC high-risk region in China, we interviewed 363 EC survivors and 25,245 permanent residents matched with the survivors on age, sex, and township as the baseline. QoL was measured using three-level version of European Quality of Life 5-Dimensions instrument. We constructed piecewise mixed models estimating the QoL of EC survivors that varied by age, sex, patient type, hospital level, and therapy to ascertain QoL determinants.RESULTSThe post-treatment QoL of EC survivors dropped by 15.7% within the first year and recovered by 9.3% between 1 and 9 years compared with the baseline. Therapy was found to be a determinant of QoL, and a series of therapy-specific models were fitted accordingly, which all showed the pattern of decreasing rapidly and recovering gradually. Endoscopic treatment had the least impact on post-treatment QoL (7.5% drop within 5 years) compared with esophagectomy (12.2% drop within 1 year) and chemoradiotherapy (37.8% drop within 2 years). The usual activities dimension showed the greatest impairment among those patients (34.4% drop within 1 year).CONCLUSIONThis community-based study described the long-term QoL trajectory for EC survivors after different therapeutic modalities and constructed models to predict therapy-specific QoL at different time points after treatment. It provided new insights into decision making in treatment for EC from the perspective of QoL protection, offering a convenient tool for estimating quality-adjusted life-years.

Abstract:Laparoscopy is used for most surgical procedures in gynaecology. In general complications are rare. However, one of the most critical steps is the initial laparoscopic entry into the peritoneal cavity. According to the literature serious complications occur in approximately 1-2/1 000 cases. Whereas major vascular injuries are mainly recognised immediately, delayed recognition of bowel injuries is frequent. Complication rates of different entry procedures used in gynaecological laparoscopy are similar even in high risk patients (intraperitoneal adhesions, obesity). Utilising an open - instead a closed - entry (either by Veress needle or first trocar) technique or alternativ entry positions are suggested by some authors. This review presents data available in the literature and highlights that open laparoscopy is no gold standard.
Early Quality of Life Assessment After Segmental Colorectal Resection for Deep Infiltrating Endometriosis

Abstract:Study objective: Endometriosis is a benign condition afflicting women of reproductive age that significantly impacts their quality of life (QoL). Given its debilitating symptoms and prevalence, it is essential to define its proper management. In this study, we have assessed patient-reported outcomes among women having undergone segmental colorectal resection for deep infiltrating endometriosis. Any correlation between preoperative nutritional status and overall postoperative complications has also been analyzed. Study design: Prospective observational study. Setting: Public medical center. Patients: One hundred forty consecutive patients that had undergone segmental colorectal resection for DIE between November 2020 and October 2021 at IRCCS Sacro Cuore Don Calabria Hospital of Negrar of Valpolicella (Verona, Italy). Interventions: Patient-reported outcomes were measured using data collected from the MD Anderson Symptom Inventory for gastrointestinal surgery patients and Euro-QoL Group EQ-5D-5L (EQ-5Q-5L) questionnaires, which were administered preoperatively (T0), at discharge (T1) and at 4 to 6 weeks after surgery (T2). Nutritional status was examined through the Mini Nutritional Assessment Short form and Prognostic Nutritional Index. Measurements and main results: A significant improvement in the EQ-5Q-5L and MDASI-GI scores was noted between T0 and T2 (p <. 001 and p <. 001, respectively.) No statistically significant differences were found in scores at T2 between patients who had experienced postoperative complications and those who had not. No statistically significant association was observed between the presence of malnutrition and overall postoperative complications and their severity. Conclusion: This study confirms, through patient-reported outcomes, the pivotal role of surgery in improving the QoL at 4 to 6 weeks of women affected by endometriosis who have previously been unresponsive to medical therapy.

Abstract:Background: Patients presenting for gynecologic surgery are a heterogeneous group. Preoperative quality of life may be a useful tool to guide postoperative management. Objective: This study aimed to examine the key drivers of preoperative quality of life to improve counseling and postoperative management. Study design: This study analyzed preoperative survey results from 154 participants using the following surveys: National Institutes of Health Toolbox Global Health v1.2, Gastrointestinal: Gas and Bloating v1.1 13a, Gastrointestinal: Diarrhea v1.0 6a, and Sexual Function and Satisfaction Brief Profile (Female) v2.0, Perceived Stress Scale, the Vaginal Assessment Scale, and the Vulvar Assessment Scale. Survey results in the form of T-scores were compared in patients with endometrial cancer and patients with benign gynecologic conditions using the Kruskal-Wallis test. The multivariate analysis was performed using linear regression to adjust the comparisons for age, body mass index, and comorbidity. Results: Of the 154 patients, preoperative diagnosis was benign in 66% (n=102) and endometrial cancer in 34% (n=52). Patients with endometrial cancer were more likely to be older, non-White, in lower income brackets, have higher body mass index, and be postmenopausal (P<.05). Although preoperative global health scores were similar between benign and malignant cases (P>.05), when adjusted for age, the differences in global health quality of life between patients with benign gynecologic conditions and those with endometrial cancer became significant, because the endometrial cancer group was older than the benign group (P<.05). However, when adjusting for age, body mass index, and comorbidities (hypertension and diabetes), the differences were no longer significant (P>.05). Sexual interest was decreased in the patients with endometrial cancer both in the unadjusted and adjusted model; and vulvar complaints became significantly different between the groups when controlling for body mass index, age, and comorbidities (P<.05). Conclusion: Despite substantial differences in preoperative diagnosis, preoperative quality of life is highly influenced by age, body mass index, and comorbidities. Therefore, these factors should be explored in surgical outcomes and postoperative management trials.
Overall and progression-free survival in endometrial carcinoma: A single-center retrospective study of patients treated between 2000-2018

Abstract:BACKGROUND: Investigating survival in endometrial cancer (EC) is crucial to determine the effectiveness of overall management as it will reflect on the level of care provided among this population. OBJECTIVE: The study was conducted to analyze the overall survival (OS) and progression-free survival (PFS) in treated endometrial carcinoma and to determine the associated predictors. DESIGN: Retrospective SETTING: Department of obstetrics and gynecology in university tertiary hospital PATIENTS AND METHODS: Baseline demographic and clinical data, tumor characteristics and perioperative and outcome data were collected from consecutive patients treated for EC between 2000 and 2018. Kaplan-Meier method and multivariate Cox regression were used to analyze factors and predictors of OS and PFS. MAIN OUTCOME MEASURES: OS, PFS and prognostic factors SAMPLE SIZE: 200 RESULT: Endometrioid type was the most common type accounting for 78.5% of the cases, followed by papillary serous carcinoma (18.5%). At diagnosis, 21.5% were stage III, and 12.0% were stage IV. Invasiveness features showed involvement of the myometrium (96.5%), lymph vessels (36.5%), cervix stroma (18.5%), lower segment (22.0%), and parametrium (7.0%). The majority of patients had open surgery (80.0%), while 11.5% and 7.0% had laparoscopy and robotic surgery, respectively. Staging and debulking were performed in 89.0% of patients, and 12.5% of patients had residual disease of more than 2 cm. The mean OS and PFS were 104.4 (95% CI=91.8–117.0) months and 96.8 (95% CI=83.9–109.7) months, respectively. The 5-year OS and PFS were 62.5% and 46.9%, respectively. The majority of the factors we assessed were significantly associated with OS or PFS. However, reduced OS was independently associated age ≥60 years (hazard ratio [HR]=1.99, P =.010), papillary serous carcinoma (HR=2.35, P =.021), and residual disease (HR=3.84, P =.007); whereas PFS was predicted by age ≥60 years (HR=1.87, P =.014) and residual disease (HR=3.22, P =.040). CONCLUSION: There is a need for a national strategy to tackle the growing burden of EC, by identifying the locally-specific incidence, delayed diagnosis and survival outcome. LIMITATIONS: This was a single-center study conducted at a tertiary center, which may question the generalizability of the findings, as the sample may be biased by overrepresentation with patients who were diagnosed at an advanced stage.

Abstract:Introduction: Clinicians should address the different health needs of cancer survivors (CS). We investigated concerns about physical/psychosocial symptoms and quality of life (QoL) of CS enrolled in our survivorship program. Our primary aim is to describe the CS population and their quality of life, considering both physical and psychosocial issues, with the intent to identify some possible association with the most frequently observed variables. Methods: Adult patients, after ≥ 5 years from achieving complete hematologic or solid tumor remission, were included. The self-administered questionnaire used in the survey was based on the "Cancer Survivors Survey of Needs" (Mayo Clinic). Results: We analyzed data from 191 CS. The median age was 63 years (53 years at diagnosis), and 70% of patients were females. A total of 93 patients (49%) reported a quality of life (QoL) score > 2. The most common psychosocial symptom concerns were fear of relapse (53%), genetic counseling (43%), living with uncertainty (35%), defining a new sense of normal (31%), and managing stress (28%). Females are more at risk to develop the following concerns compared with males: pain (40% vs 21%), sleep disturbance (54% vs 30%), weight gain (42% vs 21%), osteoporosis (41% vs 11%), body changes (45% vs 13%), hair or skincare issues (42% vs 16%), hot flashes (40% vs 11%), fear of recurrence (74% vs 54%), and living with a sense of uncertainty (53% vs 29%). Younger patients reported a higher score (> 2) for physical and psychological concerns compared with older patients. Conclusion: In this study, differences in physical and psychological symptoms/stressors among women and younger patients were identified. Female and younger patients appear to report physical and psychosocial concerns more frequently than other subgroups of patients. These observations should be validated and deepened in larger, prospective studies and considered during the long-term follow-up of these subgroups of patients.

Abstract:Introduction The assessment of quality of life (QoL) in women with cervical cancer is crucial due to the profound changes they undergo during and after treatment. Often, the significance of sexual factors is underestimated, likely due to societal taboos surrounding such discussions. Objective This study aimed to determine the long‐term QoL outcomes, particularly focusing on sexuality, among three therapeutic approaches for cervical cancer: chemotherapy, radiotherapy, and brachytherapy; isolated hysterectomy; and hysterectomy combined with radiotherapy. Methods Conducted from November 2022 to July 2023, this cross‐sectional study involved 131 cervical cancer patients. Their QoL was assessed using the MDASI, FACIT‐Cx, and risk factor questionnaires. Results were compared across the three treatment groups, revealing notable differences.
