Abstract:The frequency of landslides and related economic and environmental damage has increased in recent decades across the hilly areas of the world, no exception is Bangladesh. Considering the first step in landslide disaster management, different methods have been applied but no methods found as best one. As a result, landslide assessment using different methods in different geographical regions has significant importance. The research aims to prepare and evaluate landslide susceptibility maps (LSMs) of the Chattogram district using three machine learning algorithms of Logistic Regression (LR), Random forest (RF) and Decision and Regression Tree (DRT). Sixteen landslide conditioning factors were determined considering topographic, hydro-climatic, geologic and anthropogenic influence. The landslide inventory database (255 locations) was randomly divided into training (80 %) and testing (20 %) sets. The LSMs showed that almost 9-12 % of areas of the Chattogram district are highly susceptible to landslides. The highly susceptible zones cover the Chattogram district's hill ranges where active morphological processes (erosion and denudation) are dominant. The ROC values for training data were 0.943, 0.917 and 0.947 and testing data were 0.963, 0.934 and 0.905 for LR, RF and DRT models, respectively. The accuracy is higher than the previous research in comparison to the extent of the study area and the size of the inventory. Among the models, LR showed the highest prediction rate and DRT showed the highest success rate. According to susceptibility zones, DRT is the more realistic model followed by LR. The maps can be applied at the local scale for landslide hazard management.

Abstract:Landslides are natural disasters that have resulted in the loss of economies and lives over the years. The landslides caused by the 2005 Muzaffarabad earthquake heavily impacted the area, and slopes in the region have become unstable. This research was carried out to find out which areas, as in Muzaffarabad district, are sensitive to landslides and to define the relationship between landslides and geo-environmental factors using three tree-based classifiers, namely, Extreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost), Random Forest (RF), and k-Nearest Neighbors (KNN). These machine learning models are innovative and can assess environmental problems and hazards for any given area on a regional scale. The research consists of three steps: Firstly, for training and validation, 94 historical landslides were randomly split into a proportion of 7/3. Secondly, topographical and geological data as well as satellite imagery were gathered, analyzed, and built into a spatial database using GIS Environment. Nine layers of landslide-conditioning factors were developed, including Aspect, Elevation, Slope, NDVI, Curvature, SPI, TWI, Lithology, and Landcover. Finally, the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve and the area under the ROC curve (AUC) value were used to estimate the model's efficiency. The area under the curve values for the RF, XGBoost, and KNN models are 0.895 (89.5%), 0.893 (89.3%), and 0.790 (79.0%), respectively. Based on the three machine learning techniques, the innovative outputs show that the performance of the Random Forest model has a maximum AUC value of 0.895, and it is more efficient than the other tree-based classifiers. Elevation and Slope were determined as the most important factors affecting landslides in this research area. The landslide susceptibility maps were classified into four classes: low, moderate, high, and very high susceptibility. Abstract:In mountainous terrain, landslides are common, particularly in intermontane basin locations. Such regions can adversely affect both human beings and the environment. In the assessment of landslide susceptibility, machine learning (ML) algorithms are increasingly popular due to their compatibility with geospatial data and tools. Herein, this study evaluated the performance of four ML algorithms: namely, random forest (RF), gradient boost (GB), extreme gradient boost (XGB), and stacking ensemble (STK). These algorithms were implemented to create a practical model of landslide susceptibility. The site under investigation is in the province of Chiang Mai, an intermontane basin area in northern Thailand where populations are settled. To address issues of multicollinearity, the variance inflation factor (VIF) was used. Eight out of fourteen factors were selected for examination; hyperparameters of each model were tested to acquire the best combination. Results indicated that the STK model outperforms all other models, providing evaluation metrics (precision, recall, F1-score, and overall accuracy) of 82.92%, 81.18%, 82.04%, and 81.75%, respectively. The area under the receiver operating characteristic (ROC) curve also reveals the high efficiency of the model, achieving 0.8928. However, further analysis of the appropriate model or base learner is necessary for achieving even higher predictive results.

Abstract:Abstract The landslide is a natural phenomenon and one of the most commonplace disasters in the Rangamati Hill tract area which appeals for better forecasting and specify the landslide susceptible zonation. This research work examines the application of GIS and Remote Sensing techniques based on different parameters such as altitude, slope angle, slope aspect, rainfall, land-use land-cover (LULC), geology and stream distance by heuristic model to identify the landslide susceptible zones for the study area. Among the parameters, rainfall, steep slope, geology and LULC are the dominant factor that triggering the landslide. Clayey or silty soils of the study area during heavy and prolong rainfall behave a flow of debris due to water pressure within the soil, resulting landslides. Steep slope has greater influences for weather zones of the rock-masses for susceptible landslides. Result and field observation indicate that the population density and LULC has a vital effect on landslide within the study area. However, landslide susceptible zones were created based on the susceptibility map of the study area which shows that about 19.43% of the area are at low susceptible zone, 56.55% of the area are at medium susceptible zone, 19.19% of the area are in the high susceptible zone and 4.81% of the area is at the very high susceptible zone.

Abstract:Abstract Landslide is a major hazard all over the world and a very frequent phenomenon in Southeast Asian mountainous terrain. It has become a frequent phenomenon in the hilly regions of Bangladesh and the Rangamati district is the worst victims. This study aims to identify the landslide susceptible area of Rangamati district according to geological and satellite image processed data of the previously occurred landslide. Geological map of Rangamati District, Landsat 8 OLI images of October-2019 and SRTM images were used for landslide factor data mining. In present study Surface geology, Distance from fault line, Slope Angle, Slope Aspect, NDVI, BSI and NDCI are considered as the major factors related to landslide occurrence. Effects of the selected factors were calculated by using bivariate statistical approach (frequency ratio method) to examine the correlation between landslide occurrence and the influencing factors. Results of the landslide susceptibility show that surface geology and fault line has a strong correlation with landslide occurrence in Rangamati district. Analysis also shows that medium to high clay content availability with bare soil surface (no or low vegetation) that have a low slope angle (3 to 16 degree) are closely correlated to landslide occurrence. In the rainy season clay content saturated by heavy rainfall produce mud that flows according to very low slope cause landslide in this region. Due to geological characteristics this landslide can be defined as mud flow. Landslide susceptible map shows that the area near water bodies and lower part of hill slope are more susceptible to landslide occurrence.

Abstract:Landslides cause a considerable amount of damage around the world every year. Landslide susceptibility assessments are useful for the mitigation of the associated potential risks to local economic development, land use planning, and decision makers. The main aim of this study was to present a novel hybrid approach of bagging (B)-based kernel logistic regression (KLR), named the BKLR model, for spatial prediction of landslides in the Shangnan County, China. We first selected 15 conditioning factors for landslide susceptibility modeling. Then, the prediction capability of all conditioning factors was evaluated using the least square support vector machine method. Model validation and comparison were performed based on the area under the receiver operating characteristic curve and several statistical-based indexes, including positive predictive rate, negative predictive rate, sensitivity, specificity, kappa index, and root mean square error. Results indicated that the BKLR ensemble model outperformed and outclassed the KLR and the benchmark support vector machine model. Our findings overall confirmed that a combination of the meta model with a decision tree classifier based on a functional algorithm can decrease the over-fitting and variance problems of data, which could enhance the prediction power of the landslide model. The resultant susceptibility maps could be useful for hazard mitigation in the study area and other similar landslide-prone areas.

Abstract:This study assesses landslide vulnerability in the Chittagong Hill Tracts (CHT), specifically focusing on Bandarban district in Southeast Bangladesh. By employing a multidisciplinary approach, thirteen factors influencing landslides were examined, including terrain features, land use, and environmental variables. Utilizing the FR model and integrating various datasets such as DEM, satellite images, and rainfall data, landslide susceptibility mapping was conducted. The analysis revealed that steep slopes, high elevations, specific aspects, and curvature contribute significantly to landslide susceptibility. Factors like erosion, soil saturation, drainage density, and human activities were also identified as key contributors. The study underscored the impact of land use changes and highlighted the stabilizing effect of vegetation cover. The resulting Landslide Susceptibility Map (LSM) categorized the area into five susceptibility zones. The model demonstrated a prediction accuracy of 76.47%, indicating its effectiveness in forecasting landslide occurrences. Additionally, the study identified significant changes in the study area over three decades, emphasizing the influence of human activities on slope instability. These findings offer valuable insights for policymakers and land-use planners, emphasizing the importance of proactive measures to mitigate landslide risks and ensure community safety. Abstract:Landslides are a dangerous natural hazard that can critically harm road infrastructure in mountainous places, resulting in significant damage and fatalities. The primary purpose of this study was to assess the efficacy of three machine learning algorithms (MLAs) for landslide susceptibility mapping including random forest (RF), decision tree (DT), and support vector machine (SVM). We selected a case study region that is frequently affected by landslides, the important Kamyaran–Sarvabad road in the Kurdistan province of Iran. Altogether, 14 landslide evaluation factors were input into the MLAs including slope, aspect, elevation, river density, distance to river, distance to fault, fault density, distance to road, road density, land use, slope curvature, lithology, stream power index (SPI), and topographic wetness index (TWI). We identified 64 locations of landslides by field survey of which 70% were randomly employed for building and training the three MLAs while the remaining locations were used for validation. The area under the receiver operating characteristics (AUC) reached a value of 0.94 for the decision tree compared to 0.82 for the random forest, and 0.75 for support vector machines model. Thus, the decision tree model was most accurate in identifying the areas at risk for future landslides. The obtained results may inform geoscientists and those in decision-making roles for landslide management.

Abstract:Abstract Landslides are frequent geological hazards, mainly in the rainy season along road corridors worldwide. In the present study, we have comparatively analyzed landslide susceptibility by employing integrated geospatial approaches, i.e., data-driven, knowledge-driven, and machine learning (ML), along the main road corridors of the Muzaffarabad district. The landslide inventory of three road corridors is developed to evaluate landslide susceptibility, and eleven landslide causative factors (LCFs) were analyzed. After statistical significance analysis, these eleven LCFs generated susceptibility models using WoE, AHP, LR, and RF. Distance from roads, landcover, lithological units, and slopes are considered more influential LCFs. The performance matrix of different LSMs is evaluated through the area under the curve (AUC-ROC), overall accuracy, Kappa index, F 1 score, Mean Absolute Error, and Root Mean Square Error. The AUC-ROC for WoE, AHP, LR, and RF techniques along Neelum road is 0.86, 0.82, 0.91, and 0.97, respectively, along Jhelum Valley road is 0.83, 0.81, 0.93, and 0.95, respectively, while along Kohala road is 0.89, 0.88, 0.89, and 0.92, respectively. The produced LSMs through ML (i.e., RF and LR) showed better prediction accuracies than WoE and AHP along these three road corridors. The LSMs are categorized into very high, high, moderate, and low susceptible zones along these roads. The LSM generated through hybrid models can facilitate the concerned local agencies to implement landslide mitigation policies for the landslide-prone zones along road corridors.

Abstract:Co-seismic landslides pose a significant concern for the Himalayas and its nearby area due to high seismic activity in the region, coupled with steep slopes and heavy rainfall, responsible for substantial socioeconomic losses. Accurate and reliable Co-seismic landslide susceptibility maps are vital in highlighting high-risk zones where proactive measures can be taken to minimise the risk. Despite numerous machine learning (ML) models and landslide controlling factors being explored for susceptibility mapping, uncertainty remains about removing irrelevant factors and identifying optimal controlling factors for an ML based model. Further earlier research highlights that the performance of ML based models improves when optimal controlling factors are utilized for training the model. This study aims to evaluate the efficiency of Random Forest (RF), Logistic Regression (LR), and Naive Bayes (NB) for co-seismic landslide susceptibility mapping and identifying most important controlling factors in the eastern Himalayan region. The landslide inventory of the 2011 Mw 6.9 Sikkim earthquake and a spatial database comprising 16 landslide-controlling factors have been utilised. A novel approach is proposed for selecting the optimal controlling factors for an ML model. Susceptibility maps for the Indian state of Sikkim are prepared by each model using optimal controlling factors. Peak Ground Acceleration (PGA), river distance, slope, fault distance, and elevation are identified as the most important factors, with the RF model showing superior performance. The outcomes of this study provide valuable insights for policymakers and engineers for land use planning and proactive measures to minimize losses.

Abstract:Landslide is one of the most destructive hazards in the Upper Beas valley of the Himalayan region of India. Landslide susceptibility mapping is an important and preliminary task in order to prospect the spatial variability of landslide prone zones in the area. As the use of machine learning algorithms has increased the success rate in susceptibility studies, the performance of the four machine learning models, namely Naïve Bayes (NB), K-Nearest Neighbor (KNN), Random Forest (RF) and Extreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost) were initially tested for landslide susceptibility mapping in the area. Landslide inventory containing both landslide and non-landslide data and thirteen landslide conditioning factors were considered to train the models. The models were optimized using hyperparameter optimization and input factors selection based on variable importance. Among the four models, Extreme Gradient Boosting (XGBoost), an advanced ensemble-based machine learning algorithm, demonstrated superior performance (AUC = ~ 0.91) followed by RF, NB and KNN with AUC values of ~ 0.88, ~ 0.87, and ~ 0.82. Therefore, XGboost model was selected for detailed study, including sensitivity analysis. The results depict that 44% of the total area falls under high and very high susceptible zones. Southward facing slopes having inclination between 31 ̊-50 ̊ located at an elevation of 2001–3000 m in the vicinity of road and drainage network contain most of the landslide susceptible zones. Sensitivity analysis has provided an in-depth understanding of the factors' relation with the model as the XGBoost model is most sensitive to factors such as slope inclination, distance to thrust and road, elevation, TWI and slope aspect.

Abstract:The rainfall can contribute significantly to landslide events, especially in hilly areas. The landslide susceptibility map (LSM) usually helps to mitigate disasters. However, how to accurately predict the susceptibility of landslides is still a difficult point in the field of disaster research. In this study, five advanced machine learning technologies (MLTs), including the Light Gradient Boosting Machine, extreme gradient boost, categorical boosting (CatBoost), support vector machine, and random forest, are utilized to landslide susceptibility modeling and their capabilities are compared through evaluation indicators. The northern part of Yanping, Fujian Province, China, is selected as the research object, because this area experienced mass landslide events due to extremely heavy rainfall in June 2010, resulting in many casualties and a large number of public facilities destroyed. The influencing factors for landslides, namely topographic, hydrological, geologic and human activities, are prepared from various data sources based on the availability. Through the analysis of the actual situation in the study area, 13 suitable landslide condition factors are considered and the availability of relevant factors is checked according to the multicollinearity test. The landslide inventory including 631 samples in this study area is obtained from historical information, satellite data in Google earth and performed field surveys. The landslide inventory is randomly divided into two datasets for model training and testing with a 7:3 ratio. The area under the curve of ROC, accuracy rate, Kappa index and F1 score are applied to compare the MLTs capabilities. In this paper, the results of factor importance analysis show that the first three important condition factors are the distance to faults, the distance to drainages and the slope. According to the LSMs, in the study area, the central and western regions are at high and very high landslide susceptibility levels, while almost all the eastern and northeastern regions are at medium and low landslide susceptibility levels. The CatBoost model is a very promising technology in landslide research according to the evaluation results, which means that for landslide susceptibility research, gradient boosting algorithms may get more accurate results and show better prospects in the future. Finally, the results of this paper will contribute to environmental protection to a certain extent.

Abstract:Landslides are one of the most devastating natural hazards worldwide. Landslides are triggered by different forces, such as earthquakes and typhoons, and have different characteristics in terms of distribution, influential factors, and process. The objectives of this study are to develop susceptibility maps using machine learning for two different triggering forces (earthquake and typhoon) and identify the main predisposing factors in mountainous regions of Pakistan and Taiwan. To compare different machine learning models for landslide susceptibility mapping, landslide susceptibility maps were developed using traditional (logistic regression) and modern techniques (decision tree). Results show that the spatial pattern of susceptibility map from logistic regression is continuously distributed, whereas that from the decision tree is crisp and sharp. From both models, consistent results show that the most important critical factors are completely different for both the earthquake- and typhoon-triggered landslides. For rainfall-triggered landslides in Taiwan, the most important factor of landslide susceptibility is the distance to the rivers, whereas, for earthquake-triggered landslides in Pakistan, the most important one is geological formations. Moreover, landslide susceptibility maps show that earthquake-triggered landslides tend to occur at the Muzaffarabad Formation, whereas rainstorm-induced landslides aggregate in the slope toe along the river.

Abstract:Landslides pose a constant threat to the Himalayan regions, causing severe harm to people and property, and disastrous consequences demand novel ways of early prediction and prevention. The study gives a comprehensive insight into real-time landslide prediction using data from several sensors. The study investigates the applicability of advanced machine learning algorithms such as Multiple Linear Regression (MLR), XGBoost (XGB), Random Forest (RF), and a hybrid MLR-LSTM model in predicting landslide disasters. Further, the performance of these models was evaluated by utilizing the evaluation metrics such as MSE, MAE, and RMSE. However, the hybrid MLR-LSTM model excels with MSE = 0.014, MAE = 0.140, and RMSE = 0.120. Additionally, the study demonstrates the hybrid model's practical application by demonstrating the real-time alert generation method.

Abstract:This research aims to generate a landslide susceptibility map (LSM) for the Bhagirathi river basin located in the Tehri Garhwal district of Uttarakhand state in India. For this study, we incorporated and utilized machine learning novel ensemble models, namely: Generalize Linear Model (GLM), Random Forest (RF), Convolutional Neural Network (CNN), GLM-RF, CNN-RF, CNN-GLM and CNN-GLM-RF. The above-specified ensemble models were incorporated for the preparation of LSM. A total of 171 landslide locations were chosen and studied for the preparation of landslide inventory. From the landslide inventory, 70% of landslides were utilized for the training purpose, whereas the rest, 30%, were used for the validation purpose. In the ongoing research study, a total of 17 landslide conditioning factors (LCFs) were utilized, and the analysis for multi-collinearity was performed by tolerance (TOL) as well as variance inflation factor (VIF) methods. These LSM were then validated through receiver operating characteristic curve (ROC), mean absolute error (MAE), root mean square error (RMSE) and Chi-Square methods. Finally, the outcomes of the analysis, as well as validation models, show that the CNN model proves to be the most effective for predicting landslide susceptibility in the study area. The study found that the methods incorporated for the area under consideration can be applied to the regions having similar geo-environmental factors globally.

Abstract:Landslides triggered in mountainous areas can have catastrophic consequences, threaten human life, and cause billions of dollars in economic losses. Hence, it is imperative to map the areas susceptible to landslides to minimize their risk. Around Abbottabad, a large city in northern Pakistan, a large number of landslides can be found. This study aimed to map the landslide susceptibility over these regions in Pakistan by using three Machine Learning (ML) techniques, specifically Linear Regression (LiR), Logistic Regression (LoR), and Support Vector Machine (SVM). Several influencing factors were used to identify the potential landslide areas, including elevation, slope degree, slope aspect, general curvature, plan curvature, profile curvature, landcover classification system, Normalized Difference Water Index (NDWI), Normalized Difference Vegetation Index (NDVI), soil, lithology, fault density, topographic roughness index, and road density. The weights of these factors were calculated using ML techniques. The weightage overlay tool is adopted to map the final output. According to three ML models, lithology, NDWI, slope, and LCCS significantly impact landslide occurrence. The area under the ROC curve (AUC) is applied to validate the performance of models, and the results show the AUC value of LiR (88%) is better than SVM (86%) and LoR (85%) models. ML models and final susceptibility map gives good accuracy, which can be reliable for the results. The study's outcome provides baselines for policymakers to propose adequate protection and mitigation measures against the landslides in the region, and any other researcher can adopt this methodology to map the landslide susceptibility in another area having similar characteristics.

Abstract:Natural disasters, notably landslides, pose significant threats to communities and infrastructure. Landslide susceptibility mapping (LSM) has been globally deemed as an effective tool to mitigate such threats. In this regard, this study considers the northern region of Pakistan, which is primarily susceptible to landslides amid rugged topography, frequent seismic events, and seasonal rainfall, to carry out LSM. To achieve this goal, this study pioneered the fusion of baseline models (logistic regression (LR), K-nearest neighbors (KNN), and support vector machine (SVM)) with ensembled algorithms (Cascade Generalization (CG), random forest (RF), Light Gradient-Boosting Machine (LightGBM), AdaBoost, Dagging, and XGBoost). With a dataset comprising 228 landslide inventory maps, this study employed a random forest classifier and a correlation-based feature selection (CFS) approach to identify the twelve most significant parameters instigating landslides. The evaluated parameters included slope angle, elevation, aspect, geological features, and proximity to faults, roads, and streams, and slope was revealed as the primary factor influencing landslide distribution, followed by aspect and rainfall with a minute margin. The models, validated with an AUC of 0.784, ACC of 0.912, and K of 0.394 for logistic regression (LR), as well as an AUC of 0.907, ACC of 0.927, and K of 0.620 for XGBoost, highlight the practical effectiveness and potency of LSM. The results revealed the superior performance of LR among the baseline models and XGBoost among the ensembles, which contributed to the development of precise LSM for the study area. LSM may serve as a valuable tool for guiding precise risk-mitigation strategies and policies in geohazard-prone regions at national and global scales.

Abstract:Among natural hazards, landslides are devastating in China. However, little is known regarding potential landslide-prone areas in Maoxian County. The goal of this study was to apply four deep learning algorithms, the convolutional neural network (CNN), deep neural network (DNN), long short-term memory (LSTM) networks, and recurrent neural network (RNN) in evaluating the possibility of landslides throughout Maoxian County, Sichuan, China. A total of 1290 landslide records was developed using historical records, field observations, and remote sensing techniques. The landslide susceptibility maps showed that most susceptible areas were along the Minjiang River and in some parts of the southeastern portion of the study area. Slope, rainfall, and distance to faults were the most influential factors affecting landslide occurrence. Results revealed that proportion of landslide susceptible areas in Maoxian County was as follows: identified landslides (13.65–23.71%) and non-landslides (76.29–86.35%). The resultant maps were tested against known landslide locations using the area under the curve (AUC). This study indicated that the DNN algorithm performed better than LSTM, CNN, and RNN in identifying landslides in Maoxian County, with AUC values (for prediction accuracy) of 87.30%, 86.50%, 85.60%, and 82.90%, respectively. The results of this study are useful for future landslide risk reduction along with devising sustainable land use planning in the study area.

Abstract:The Uttarakhand state of India is highly prone to landslides causing valuable loss of life and money frequently and hence its careful study is of utmost importance. Recently several types of machine learning algorithms have been developed and applied for producing landslide susceptibility maps in various world regions. In this study landslide susceptibility assessment was undertaken in landslide prone areas of Uttarakhand state (India) applying three Machine learning algorithms (a) Support Vector Machines (SVM), (b) Logistic Regression (LR), and (c) Multilayer Perceptron (MLP). The comparative performance of these methods has been evaluated using various statistical index-based methods. In the development of the model, several important landslides affecting factors related to geomorphology, geology, and geo-environment such as slope angles, elevation, slope aspects, curvatures, rainfall, distance to faults, distance to roads, distance to rivers, land use, and land cover, DSM, DTM, etc. have been identified and their relative importance has been explored. Models developed are trained for various locations spanning the major landslide locations of Uttarakhand including Sonprayag, Sitapur, Rampur, Kalimah, Madhya Maheshwar, Chamoli and Uttarkashi. Analysis of the results reveals that all the above-mentioned landslide models performed well for landslide susceptibility assessments. Further, it has been observed that the deep learning-based MLP multilayer perceptron model performs better than SVM and LR - models owing to its higher number of hidden layers. Several hyperparameter tuning studies have also been conducted to finetune the model.

Abstract:Natural disasters always have a damaging effect on our way of life. Landslides cause serious damage to both human and natural resources around the world. In this paper, the prediction accuracy of five hybrid models for landslide occurrence in the Uttarkashi, Uttarakhand (India) was evaluated and compared. In this approach, the Rough Set theory coupled with five different models namely Bayesian Network (HBNRS), Backpropagation Neural Network (HBPNNRS), Bagging (HBRS), XGBoost (HXGBRS), and Random Forest (HRFRS) were taken into account. The database for the models development was prepared using fifteen conditioning factors that had 373 landslide and 181 non-landslide locations that were then randomly divided into training and testing locations with a ratio of 75%:25%. The appropriateness and predictability of these conditioning factors were assessed using the multi-collinearity test and the least absolute shrinkage and selection operator approach. The accuracy, sensitivity, specificity, precision, and F-Measures, and the area under the curve (AUC)-receiver operating characteristics curve, were used to evaluate and compare the performance of the individual and hybrid created models. The findings indicate that the constructed hybrid model HXGBRS (AUC = 0.937, Precision = 0.946, F1-score = 0.926 and Accuracy = 89.92%) is the most accurate model for predicting landslides when compared to other models (HBPNNRS, HBNRS, HBRS, and HRFRS). Importantly, when the fusion is performed with the rough set method, the prediction capability of each model is improved. Simultaneously, the HXGBRS model proposed shows superior stability and can effectively avoid overfitting. After the core modules were developed, the user-friendly platform was designed as an integrated GIS environment using dynamic maps for effective landslide prediction in large prone areas. Users can predict the probability of landslide occurrence for selected region by changing the values of a conditioning factors. The created approach could be beneficial for predicting the impact of landslides on slopes and tracking landslides along national routes.
