Abstract:The purpose of this study was to compare thoracic aortic pathologies of 30 patients with Marfan's syndrome and a group of 78 patients with arterial hypertension. With a mean age of 35 +/- 12 years, patients with Marfan's syndrome were younger than hypertensives (59 +/- 11) (p < 0.01) and Marfan's syndrome, women (52%) were more frequently affected than in hypertensive patients (21%; p < 0.05). While aortic dissection and intramural hemorrhage in patients with Marfan's syndrome were usually confined to the ascending thoracic aorta (62%), in the hypertensive patients aortic disease frequently extended to distal segments of the thoracic or abdominal aorta (p < 0.05). Aortic pathology was complicated by aortic regurgitation in 95% of the patients with Marfan's syndrome and in 56% of the hypertensive patients (p < 0.01). Signs of renal, mesenteric or coronary malperfusion, cardiac effusion and severe hypotension (p < 0.05) were more frequently seen in the hypertensive group. While there was no early death in the Marfan group, only 67% of the patients having aortic dissection or intramural hematoma survived the first 30 days in the hypertensive group (p < 0.01). Aortic dissection, intramural hematoma and aortic aneurysms were as often found in the Marfan's syndrome patients with 60%, 10%, and 30%, as in patients with arterial hypertension with 55%, 6%, and 38% (n.s.). One-year survival rates were high in patients with Marfan's syndrome (93%) as well as in patients with arterial hypertension (73%) (n.s.). The diagnosis of aortic dissection, intramural hematoma, and aneurysms could in all cases be established by the use of noninvasive imaging techniques, such as TEE, XCT, and MRI. Moreover, noninvasive imaging modalities were both highly sensitive and specific for the diagnosis of aortic regurgitation, pericardial effusion, or mediastinal hematoma complicating acute aortic disease.

Abstract:Background: Patient satisfaction is the subjective evaluation of a patient's cognitive and emotional responses. This reflects their expectations regarding the ideal healthcare to be provided. This study aims to assess the satisfaction level of the attendees to the family medicine staff clinics at King Saud Medical City, Riyadh. Materials and methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study recruited 378 participants. An adapted and piloted questionnaire was used to gather the data. The questionnaire enquires about the communication skills of the receptionist, the triage nurse, and the assigned physician. It included questions regarding the structure of the clinics. Results: Females represent the majority of about 255 (67.5%). About 2/3 of the respondents were within the age group of 18-34 years, 245 (64.8%). A high level of satisfaction was reported by the participants regarding the professionalism, kindness, interest of the staff member, and waiting time. Gender, marital status, and age group have no significant effect on the satisfaction level; the P value was uniformly more than 0.05. Conclusion: The result of this study identified high satisfaction responses regarding the communication skills of the receptionist, triage nurse, and physicians. The overall evaluation of the experience during staff clinic visits was satisfactory. Periodic evaluation of these attributes and other indicators that promote patient-centered care should be undertaken to improve the overall quality of care.

Web-based Health Educational Program in Saudi Arabia

Abstract:The purpose of this exploratory study is to provide an overview of a web-based health educational site created by the King Faisal Specialist Hospital and Research Center (KFSH&RC) in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia (KSA). Sources of data included two interviews with Saudi IT personnel, three health educators, and two medical consultants working at KFSH&RC. The interviews ranged between 45 minutes and 120 minutes. The KFSH&RC website was also searched for the type of health information content posted. Results show that the KFSH&RC web-based health educational site provides health information through a medical encyclopedia, a social networking platform, health educational links, and targeted health information for children, which includes tools such as games and coloring books. Further research is needed on the effectiveness of the KFSH&RC web-based health education site in terms of improving knowledge and changing behavior of Saudi patients. The study recommends that targeted web-based health education strategies should be developed to reach large rural populations which have inadequate computer skills and limited access to the internet.

Abstract:Background: Telemedicine was integrated into the medical sector to provide information and communication technologies and achieve more effective treatments. Telemedicine service has a pivotal role during the coronavirus pandemic enabling healthcare providers to communicate and follow up with patients, especially elderly patients, or those with chronic conditions. Patient satisfaction is an effective indicator to assess that service. Aim: To assess the attitude and satisfaction of patients with telemedicine and e-clinics in Aseer Healthy Cities. Methods: This cross-sectional study was performed at the medical centers that provided telemedicine clinics in seven healthy cities in Aseer (Abha, Bisah, Balgarn, Muhayel, Alharajah, Tareeb, and Alamwah) during 2023. The study was conducted in seven cities on patients who were served by telemedicine, using a valid-written questionnaire that was sent electronically. Results: A total of 497 patients participated in this study; 50.3% were females, and most of the patients, 81.5%, used E-clinics 1-3 times. A small percent reported having worries about e-clinics (35.8%) and found confusion while using it (29.8%). The mean±SD of the satisfaction score was 4.306±0.8. The determinants of satisfaction included age (P<0.0001), medical insurance (P<0.0001), and family doctor (P<0.0001). There was a positive attitude among patients toward using e-clinics. Participants reported that using e-clinics is better than doctors’ visits, they will use it again and will recommend it, (36.2%, 51.1%, and 57.5%, respectively). Conclusion: Patients are satisfied with the telemedicine and e-clinic healthcare services, and they have positive attitudes toward them. Patient Satisfaction and Its Predictors in the General Hospitals of Southwest Saudi Arabia: A Cross-sectional Survey

Abstract:Background: Patient satisfaction occupies a central position in measuring the quality of care as it provides information on the provider's success, meeting the patient’s values and expectations. Hence, it is an essential tool for assessing health services outcomes. This study aimed to assess patients' satisfaction level and factors influencing healthcare quality of general hospitals in the Jazan region, Saudi Arabia (SA). Methods: This observational cross-sectional study was conducted on a sample of 423 patients selected through stratified random sampling from general hospitals of the Jazan region. Results: The overall satisfaction rate among the study participants was 80.9%. Satisfaction with food services was the highest (91.15%) followed by doctor services (81.0%), reception and entry procedures (80%), and nursing services (78.15%). The various aspects of satisfaction with doctors and nurses included the treatment prescribed by physicians, clarity in communication with patients, compassion and providing clear explanation of what they were doing. However, about 27.3% of the patients were dissatisfied with the length of waiting period before seeing a doctor. Binary logistic regression analysis suggested that uneducated patients and patients with secondary school education were more likely to have higher satisfaction level than university-educated patients (OR = 3.40, 95% C.I. [1.56–7.45], p = 0.002), (OR = 2.66, 95% C.I. [1.28–5.55], p = 0.009), and (OR = 2.29, 95% C.I. [1.40–3.73], p = 0.001), respectively. Conclusion: The health services satisfaction level was high in the Jazan population. However, some aspects of dissatisfaction were reported, such as the long waiting period before seeing a doctor. These aspects are recommended to be improved to ensure that the services provided by general hospitals are of high quality.

Abstract:Recent development and changes in health care services in Saudi Arabia have encouraged a search a search for comprehensive and established measurements of the quality of care. Patient satisfaction with nursing care in particular has ferquently been used as a sensitive and objective measure of quality of hosiptal services. Objectives: THE OBJECTIVES OF THIS STUDY ARE: (1) to assess the level of inpatient satisfaction with nursing care (PSWC) in the various wards of the hospital; (2) to assess the socio-demographic determinants of PSWC in addition to the effects of duration of hospital stay and type of wards on the level of satisfaction. Methods: The sample consisted of randomly selected 450 inpatients with probability proportion to the size of the wards. The data was collected by personal interviews using a 21-item structured questionnaire pertaining to nursing services. Results: The results revealed that the instrument of measurement was valid and reliable. The overall mean satisfaction score was 2.4 (77%) and the highest mean satisfaction was for items on skillfulness and the lowest score was for communication items. Multiple regression analysis indicated that sex, age, marital status and duration of stay are the most imortant predictors of PSWC; female, young, married and short duration of hospital stay have the highest satisfaction score. Conclusion: In conclusion, this study has highlighted the aspects of nursing care at King Khalid University Hospital (KKUH) which need re-examination by the management. The most importance findings have been that there is: (1) a shortage of nurses at the hospital; (2) limited communication between nurses and patients: most probably due to cultural and language barriers; (3) no proper oversight of patients personal hygiene; (4) dissatisfaction of male patients with most of the nursing care rendered. These results offer the hospial management the opportunity to work out stategies to connect the deficiencies highlighted.
Client's satisfaction with healthcare services received at the hospital outpatients department and the primary healthcare facilities in Al-Qassim, Saudi Arabia: A review of service users' satisfaction

Abstract:Objectives: To assess the level of satisfaction expressed for services rendered in the public health sector to clients who were seen at outpatient departments (OPDs) and primary healthcare (PHC) facilities in Al-Qassim Health Cluster in Saudi Arabia. Methods: This study used a comparative cross-sectional study design, and data were obtained as secondary data from The Patient's Experience Platform. Data analysis was carried out using Stata (version 16), and the significance level was 5%. Results: In comparing the mean satisfaction in 9 domains, statistically significantly higher means for the PHC facilities than the OPDs were seen across 7 domains: patients navigating health facilities (p=0.008), nursing services (p<0.001), physicians' services (p=0.004), radiological services (p<0.001), personal issues (p=0.003), the pharmacy (p=0.005), and general experience (p=0.036). Conclusion: This study's findings are significant. They indicate that client satisfaction with services at PHC facilities was significantly higher than with services at hospital OPDs in Al-Qassim region. This underscores the need to improve the quality of services provided at OPDs to bring them to the same level as those provided by PHC facilities. Policymakers and implementers should, therefore, sustain efforts to make OPDs and PHC facilities more desirable for clients.

Abstract:Introduction Patient satisfaction is a critical indicator of health care quality, yet research exploring patient satisfaction with nursing care in Saudi Arabia (SA) remains limited. This study investigated patients' satisfaction with nursing care quality during their hospitalization in SA. Material and methods A cross-sectional study was conducted using a convenience sample of 746 patients from five hospitals in five different regions of SA. Data were collected using the Newcastle Satisfaction With Nursing Scale (NSMS), which has been shown to be valid and reliable. Results The average overall patient satisfaction with nursing care was 71.16 ± 13.51 out of 95 (75.96%), indicating a high level of satisfaction with the nursing care the patients received. The highest-scoring items of patient satisfaction were the nurses' manners when carrying out their duties, the amount of privacy the nurses provided and their capability to perform their jobs. However, the level of satisfaction regarding the frequency of nurse check-ins, time spent with patients, and support provided to patients' relatives indicated areas for potential improvement. Also, patients with primary education who were divorced or married and those admitted to the gynecology ward were more satisfied with nursing care. Conclusion This study's findings indicate that the patients were highly satisfied with the care their nurses provided, although opportunities for improvement in some areas of nursing care were identified. These findings may encourage nurses to be more attentive in meeting their patients' needs according to best nursing practices. It is recommended that hospital administrators prioritize initiatives to enhance the quality of nursing care, thereby improving overall patient satisfaction.

Abstract:Background: Patient satisfaction and loyalty are essential indicators of healthcare quality, directly impacting patient outcomes and the long-term success of healthcare facilities. Despite the growing importance of patient-centered care in Saudi Arabia, there is limited research exploring the factors that influence patient satisfaction and loyalty, particularly in the Riyadh region. Aim: This study aims to identify the key factors influencing patient satisfaction and loyalty among Saudi patients attending public and private healthcare facilities in the Riyadh region. The study focuses on how healthcare service quality, communication, and demographic factors contribute to patient satisfaction and loyalty. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted with a sample of 350 Saudi patients from 10 healthcare facilities in Riyadh. Data were collected using the Patient Satisfaction Questionnaire (PSQ-18) and the Patient Loyalty Questionnaire (PLQ). Descriptive statistics, Pearson correlation, and multiple linear regression were employed to identify predictors of patient satisfaction and loyalty. Results: Significant predictors of patient satisfaction included general satisfaction (β = 0.48, p < 0.001), communication (β = 0.35, p < 0.001), and the frequency of healthcare visits (β = 0.13, p = 0.011). Private healthcare facilities had higher satisfaction (p < 0.001) and loyalty scores (p < 0.001) compared to public facilities. Patient loyalty was strongly predicted by general satisfaction (β = 0.55, p < 0.001) and communication (β = 0.42, p < 0.001). Conclusions: Communication quality and patient satisfaction are key drivers of patient loyalty in Saudi healthcare facilities. Private facilities outperform public ones in patient satisfaction and loyalty. These findings emphasize the need for healthcare providers to enhance communication and service quality to foster patient loyalty. Tailored approaches to meet the diverse needs of patients, particularly in terms of education and visit frequency, are crucial for improving healthcare outcomes in Saudi Arabia.

Abstract:Purpose To systematically review the patient's satisfaction (PS) levels within academic hospitals in Saudi Arabia from January 2012 to the end of October 2022. Data sources Articles were gathered from PubMed, ProQuest, Google Scholar and Web of Science. Study selection/data extraction This review identified studies that assessed PS in Saudi Arabian university hospitals. Articles published before January 2012, as well as commentary letters, conference papers, theses and dissertations, were excluded. The study employed the five domains of PS as outlined by Boquiren et al . Two independent reviewers independently identified qualifying studies, used the Joanna Briggs Institute tools to evaluate the quality of each study and extracted essential data from each article. Results Out of the 327 studies identified during the search phase, 11 met the project's objectives and criteria. Six studies reported overall PS rates ranging from 78% to 95.2%, with only one study indicating lower PS levels in emergency departments. Most studies demonstrated that technical skill is the primary domain influencing PS in academic hospitals. Conclusion There is a need for further investigation to explore the factors influencing PS using standardised survey instruments suitable for Saudi culture. Contradictory results regarding PS are clearly evident in the literature; therefore, it is advisable to standardise the assessment process to reduce discrepancies within the academic hospital setting in Saudi Arabia.

Abstract:Background: Effective therapeutic communication between nurses and patients is a fundamental element of high-quality healthcare. This study examines factors influencing therapeutic communication, including professional, contextual/situational, and patient-related aspects, while also assessing patient satisfaction with nursing care and the communication process.Methods: Employing a correlational cross-sectional design, a sample of 80 nurses and 99 patients under their care was selected using purposive sampling methods. This study encompassed diverse healthcare settings in Hail, Saudi Arabia. Data were collected through two survey questionnaires: the Nurse-Patient Therapeutic Communication Questionnaire for nurses and the Patient Satisfaction with Nursing Care Quality Questionnaire for patients. The data analysis was conducted using SPSS v29.0, with findings presented using descriptive and inferential statistics.Results: The professional dimension had a mean score of 5.56 ± 1.38, the contextual and situational dimension had a mean score of 5.69 ± 1.42, and the patient-related dimension had a mean score of 5.60 ± 1.46. Age, education level, and workplace significantly influenced all dimensions (all p < .001). Patient satisfaction scores ranged from 1.87 to 5.00, with an average score of 4.07 ± 0.72. Interestingly, patient satisfaction tended to increase with longer stays, r(97) = .23, p = .024, with the length of stay explaining 5.11% of the variability in patient satisfaction.Conclusions: This study identifies three key dimensions—professional, contextual/situational, and patient-related—as significant factors in nurse-patient communication. Demographic variables, including age, education, and workplace, also played pivotal roles. Notably, patient satisfaction levels were consistently high and positively correlated with longer stays. To foster patient-centred care, it is recommended to prioritize customized communication training and sustain nurturing interactions throughout the patient's care journey.
Awareness and Attitudes toward Health Education and Promotion among Physicians and Nurses: Implications for Primary Health Care

Abstract:Health promotion and education are collaborative efforts involving patients, healthcare providers, and society, crucial for preventing and managing disease outbreaks. However, in Saudi Arabia, the actual or perceived endeavors of physicians and nurses in health education and promotion are not widely understood, which holds significant implications for those working in the field. This study aimed to evaluate the level of awareness and attitude toward health education and promotion among physicians and nurses in primary healthcare centers in Najran, Saudi Arabia. A descriptive cross-sectional study design was employed, and 187 participants were incorporated into the analysis. Questionnaires were distributed to physicians and nurses at the primary health care centers. Participants completed a face-to-face survey questionnaire about their awareness and attitude toward health education and promotion. One of the authors was physically present at the primary health care centers to assist the participants with answering the questionnaire questions. Saudis and physicians had higher awareness than non-Saudis and nurses, respectively. Work experience and institutional factors did not significantly influence awareness. A positive correlation between awareness and attitude was observed. However, perceived shortcomings in current approaches were identified, including a lack of skills and training, poor communication, and inadequate leadership support. Despite these challenges, healthcare professionals held positive attitudes toward health education, recognizing its importance in behavior change, reducing disparities, and influencing community policies. The study highlights the need for targeted interventions, including research on effective models, training programs, and improved communication and leadership support, to address identified gaps and optimize health education implementation.

Abstract:Background: Telehealth involves delivering healthcare remotely through digital platforms such as telephone and video calls. Use of telehealth surged during the COVID-19 pandemic because of the need for contactless healthcare. The Saudi Ministry of Health established the "937 telephone medical consultation call center" almost 10 years ago. Objectives: The aim of this study was to examine public awareness of, utilization of, and satisfaction with the 937 call center service, and to assess associated factors. Materials and methods: This national community-based, cross-sectional study was conducted through multistage sampling with proportional allocation from 20 health directorates. Participants were selected from the general population in public places and were interviewed with a validated questionnaire. Results: Of 7951 approached individuals, 7692 agreed to participate (response rate 96.7%). Seventy-eight percent of participants were aware of the 937 service, and 56.4% had previously used the service. Most (86%) users were satisfied with the service. Long waiting times were the most frequent reason (46.6%) for dissatisfaction. In multivariable analysis, service awareness and utilization were both significantly associated with having higher education (aOR 4.03, 95%CI: 3.17-5.12 and aOR 3.42, 95%CI: 2.64-4.42, respectively). Positive impressions of telephone medical consultation services, Saudi nationality, having children, having medical insurance, and having a history of chronic disease were significantly associated with awareness of, utilization of, and satisfaction with the service. Conclusion: The study revealed high awareness of, utilization of, and satisfaction with the 937 telephone medical consultation call center, thus suggesting increased public acceptance of the service. Moreover, the study identified socio-demographic factors influencing public awareness of, utilization of, and satisfaction with telehealth. Further studies are required to increase understanding of the facilitators of, and barriers to, the use of service among various population groups.

Abstract:Quality is a main concern of primary healthcare centers, and pursuing quality can lead to service improvement as well as affordable healthcare. The purpose of this cross-sectional study was to describe patients' healthcare quality perceptions and expectations and determine the relationships between them and associated factors. The study was conducted on a convenience sample of 470 patients visiting primary healthcare centers. Data were collected between April and July 2022 using an anonymous questionnaire. Bivariate and multivariate analyses were conducted. Most participants reported high levels of quality perceptions and expectations. Bivariate analyses showed a significant correlation between quality perceptions and expectations. Both being single and having a higher level of education were statistically different in terms of quality perception and expectations, respectively. Further, being single, highly educated, and employed had significant differences in terms of expectations. In regression, primary education and expectations influenced quality perceptions. Marital status, profession, and perception were the only variables that significantly influenced participants' expectations. Patients' healthcare quality perceptions and expectations are important for ensuring the efficiency of healthcare services. Primary healthcare centers are the key avenue for disease prevention and early detection. The optimization of primary healthcare centers' quality and addressing its potential issues should be performed through interdisciplinary teamwork.

Assessing Outpatients’ Knowledge, Attitude, and Practice Toward Managing Diabetes in Saudi Arabia

Abstract:Introduction: When it comes to non-communicable diseases like diabetes, inadequate knowledge, attitude, and practice are often linked to poor health outcomes. This study aims to assess the patients’ knowledge, attitude, and practice (KAP) of diabetes in the outpatient department of a university teaching hospital in Saudi Arabia. Methodology: In this cross-sectional study, diabetes type 2 patients attending outpatient departments at a university teaching hospital, Riyadh, were assessed regarding their knowledge, attitude, and practice toward diabetes using a validated KAP scale. Descriptive and inferential analysis was done to determine the factors associated with KAP score using SPSS version 26.0 software (SPSS Inc., Chicago, IL, U.S.). Results: Males made up 69.7% of the sample (n = 165), while 56.9% were between the ages of 41 and 75. The level of knowledge and practice had “good” in 37.6%, and 47.9%, respectively, but level of attitude had “positive” in 30.9% of patients. The association between knowledge tier and gender (p0.014) and insurance status (p0.008), respectively, was shown to be significant. However, the attitude tier was only significantly associated with gender ( P = .003). The practice tier also showed a significant age association ( P = .049). As regards, the mean scores for diabetes-related knowledge were higher only among insured participants ( P = .03) than for other participants’ sociodemographic factors. Meanwhile, the mean attitude scores were also higher among males ( P = .006) than for other sociodemographic characteristics. A comparison of the participants’ sociodemographic characteristics found no statistically significant variations in practice scores. Conclusion: Unfortunately, this study found that outpatient diabetes patients had insufficient knowledge, practice, and a negative attitude toward diabetes type 2. This imposes a great burden on healthcare workers and hence the healthcare system to improve patient scores via diabetes education programs or pharmacist-led patient counseling initiatives.

Abstract:Background: This study investigates patients' use of eHealth services, their awareness of the availability of these services, and their intention to use them in primary care. It also examines patient characteristics and factors that influence the use of these services. Methods: A cross-sectional design using questionnaires was conducted. Based on the unified theory of acceptance and use of technology (UTAUT), the participants rated the two most common services. Descriptive analyses and linear correlation analyses were performed. A simple linear regression was conducted to identify factors influencing the participants' intention to use eHealth services. Results: In total, 1203 participants with an average age of 43.7 years were surveyed. The participants' usage rates varied, with the lowest at 2.4%, for measuring vital signs, and the highest at 47.4%, for booking appointments. The intentions to use the services ranged from 22.5%, for video consultations, to 46.6%, for prescription refill requests. Approximately 20% of the respondents were unaware of each service's availability. Positive associations were found between all the constructs and the intention to use online services, with a younger age being the most significant factor. Conclusions: The use of and intention to use eHealth services varied greatly. The participants were often unaware of the availability of these services. Promoting the availability and benefits of eHealth services could enhance patient engagement in primary care settings.

Abstract:Background: The quality of education and the learning environment significantly influence dental trainees' success and experiences. However, the impact of the educational environment on dental residents in Saudi Arabia remains unexplored. This study aimed to assess the educational environment among dental residents at King Abdulaziz Medical City (KAMC) using the Postgraduate Hospital Educational Environment Measure (PHEEM) instrument, shedding light on its influence and providing insights for improvement. Methods: A cross-sectional survey was conducted among 85 dental residents from various specialties at King Abdulaziz Medical City in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, using the PHEEM instrument to evaluate the educational environment. Data analysis involved descriptive statistics, the Shapiro-Wilk test for score normality, and comparative analyses to explore the relationships between PHEEM scores and sociodemographic characteristics, specialties, residency years, and health habits. Results: A total of 85 dental residents completed the survey. The majority of participants were aged 25 years and older (96.5%), female (56.5%), and single (78.8%). Most of the participating dental residents were Saudi board orthodontic residents (18.8%), and they were at the R2 level of training (32.9%). 88.2% were non-smokers, and 78.8% of them practiced physical activity. The PHEEM assessment revealed an overall score of 117.12 out of 160, with subscale scores of 41.54 out of 56 for role autonomy, 44.66 out of 60 for teaching, and 30.92 out of 44 for social support. Factors like age, marital status, and smoking were associated with lower scores, while being female and physically active were linked to higher scores. Notably, R3 residents had significantly lower scores than R1 residents (p < 0.05). Conclusion: This study evaluated the educational environment in Saudi board dental programs at KAMC, revealing an overall positive atmosphere but highlighting the need for improvement in certain areas. Despite some limitations, this research represents a significant step toward assessing and enhancing the educational environment for dental residents in Saudi Arabia, ultimately ensuring a better learning environment for future dental professionals.

Abstract:Background: Quality improvement is a strategic priority for all healthcare systems. However, the engagement of healthcare providers in pursuing accreditation plays a critical role in integrating standards into routine practice. Therefore, the current study assessed the perceptions, attitudes, and barriers towards using the Central Board for Accreditation of Healthcare Institutions (CBAHI) standards among Saudi healthcare providers. Method: This cross-sectional study was conducted in 2023 among a representative sample (364) of Saudi healthcare providers (both genders, aged 20–60) working at twenty governmental CBAHI-accredited hospitals in Saudi Arabia. The study participants were selected using a cluster random sampling method. Data regarding the perceptions, attitudes, and barriers toward using CBAHI standards among Saudi healthcare providers were evaluated using a validated questionnaire. Additional information regarding demographic–socioeconomic variables was obtained with an interview-based questionnaire. Statistical analysis was performed using SPSS version 28. Results: A total of 364 healthcare providers participated in the current study. Of them, 54.4% were males, and 45.6% were females. Almost half (48.6%) of the study participants held bachelor's degrees. For the variables of age group, marital status, monthly income, and years of work experience, statistically significant associations were found between males and females (p-value < 0.05). The means of overall item agreement percentage of the participating healthcare providers for perceptions and attitudes towards using CBAHI standards and attitudes towards using CBAHI standards as a tool for quality improvement were 80.1%, 76.4%, and 72.0%, respectively. The highest item agreement percentage of the participating healthcare providers regarding the barriers that inhibit the hospital from obtaining the full benefit from the CBAHI accreditation was for the inexpedient IT tools (59.6%). Conclusion: The current study's results demonstrated accepted perceptions and attitudes toward using CBAHI standards among Saudi healthcare providers. In addition, the identified barriers should be alleviated to improve the quality, effectiveness, and efficiency of the hospitals in Saudi Arabia. The findings also help clarify the accreditation operating process, which may be helpful to policymakers and stakeholders in making informed decisions on integrating accreditation standards.
