Abstract:Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) is a promising multi-elemental analysis technique and has the advantage of rapid measurement with minimal sample preparation. However, due to the short lifetime of laser-induced plasma and the very small ablation mass, the detection sensitivity of LIBS is low and the signal uncertainty is relatively high. These issues severely hinder the large-scale application and commercialization of LIBS. A flame-assisted plasma modulation method is used to reduce signal uncertainty and simultaneously enhance signal intensity, based on the uncertainty generation mechanism of LIBS. During the plasma evolution, the ambient high-temperature combustion gases can provide an environment with high local sound speed, which reduces the crash between the lower part of plasma and the back-pressed frontier material. Therefore, the generated plasma morphology is stable and the signal uncertainty is lowered. Moreover, a hotter surrounding gas environment can benefit sample ablation mass and reduce heat loss of the plasma, therefore leading to higher signal intensity. The flame-assisted plasma modulation method is tested on brass samples. It reduces the relative standard deviation (RSD) from 10% to 6% approximately and shows an enhancement factor of about 2 for Cu spectral lines, which shows that the proposed method is effective to improve the raw signal quality for LIBS. Detailed analysis of the mechanisms for uncertainty reduction and intensity enhancement was further investigated for a deeper understanding.

Abstract:Poor spectral signal stability has always been a key problem limiting the development of laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS). The spatiotemporal inhomogeneity of the plasma between pulses is one of the direct causes of the poor stability of the spectral signal. In this paper, a multi-directional plasma emission light collection method is proposed and its performance is tested. The main idea is to suppress the difference caused by the spatial fluctuation of the plasma by increasing the acquisition range and size. Plasma emission spectra of 11 kinds of mixed lithium ore standard samples are collected with 7 different collection schemes. The experimental results show that the intensity and stability of Ca, Al, and Mn spectral lines collected from multiple directions significantly improved compared to the single lateral and single coaxial collection methods. The mean characteristic spectral intensities are increased by a factor of 4.41 and 6.84, respectively. Meanwhile, the mean relative standard deviation of multiple-directional (1.95%) is much smaller than that of the single lateral (4.31%) or single coaxial (4.16%). The mean coefficient of determination of the univariate linear regression is also improved from RL2 ̄=0.8722 (single lateral) and RC2 ̄=0.8849 (single coaxial) to RC+4L2 ̄=0.9351 (multiple-directional). The innovative and developed system based on LIBS and the multi-directional plasma collection method can effectively improve the detection repeatability and accuracy and has application values in sample measurement.

Abstract:Classic 3 beta-hydroxysteroid dehydrogenase (3 beta HSD) deficiency congenital adrenal hyperplasia (CAH) results from a mutation in the type II 3 beta HSD gene encoding adrenal and gonadal 3 beta HSD. We investigated the type II and type I 3 beta HSD gene sequences in 15 infants and children with premature pubarche (PP; mean/range of age at PP, 4/0.08-9 yr) and elevated ACTH-stimulated delta 5 precursor steroid levels. Compared to Tanner I control subjects of similar age, ACTH-stimulated hormonal levels were at 2.3-10.7 SD for 17-hydroxypregnenolone (delta 5-17P) in all PP subjects, at 2.2-17 SD for dehydroepi-androsterone (DHEA) and 2.4-5.6 SD for the delta 5-17P/cortisol (F) ratio in all PP subjects except 1 infant, and at 2.3-10 SD for the DHEA/ androstenedione (delta 5-A) ratio in 8 PP subjects. Compared to Tanner II normal children, the hormonal levels were at 3-8 SD for delta 5-17P in all 13 PP children, at 2.3-4.7 SD for the delta 5-17P/F ratio in 6 PP children, and at 2.3-6.5 SD for DHEA and 3.5-9 SD for the DHEA/delta 4-A ratio in 7 PP children. Type II 3 beta HSD gene sequences, including regions of a putative promoter, all exons (I, II, III, and IV), and exon-intron boundaries, were normal in all subjects. Sequences of the type I 3 beta HSD gene encoding extraadrenal and extragonadal 3 beta HSD were normal in the 6 patients tested. The ACTH-stimulated delta 5-17P levels and delta 5-17P/F ratios in the PP children without type II 3 beta HSD gene mutation were exceedingly lower than the respective reported hormonal data for children with 3 beta HSD deficiency CAH with proven type II 3 beta HSD gene mutation. The ACTH-stimulated DHEA levels and DHEA/delta 4-A ratios were not exceedingly different between the children with and without type II 3 beta HSD gene mutation. These findings suggest that the degree of ACTH-stimulated delta 5 precursor steroid abnormality, such as delta 5-17P levels up to 10 SD above the normal mean level found in our PP patients, is not caused by a mild variant of 3 beta HSD deficiency CAH resulting from type II or type I 3 beta HSD gene mutation. The hormonal criterion for ACTH-stimulated delta 5-17P levels in patients with mild variant 3 beta HSD deficiency, therefore, is predicted to be higher than 10 SD above the normal mean value.

Abstract:In the micro-laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy field, when the laser ablated crater on the surface of the sample is less than 10 μm, it is difficult to detect the plasma emission line because of short lifetime of excited plasma, and simultaneous quantitative analysis of multiple elements is rarely reported. In this paper, a picosecond LIBS micro-area analysis scheme is proposed. Compared with the femtosecond laser micro-area analysis system, this scheme is more mature and reliable, and is more beneficial to engineering applications. In addition, in this study, the effect of the number of laser pulses on the crater morphology was studied. It was observed that a certain crater depth would have an enhancement effect on the signal, and by controlling the laser energy, a crater less than the diffraction limit was obtained. Moreover, a multielement simultaneous analysis on a set of molybdenum-copper stainless steel samples containing 40%-70% iron was performed when the ablated crater had an outer diameter of approximately 5 μm and an inner diameter of approximately 3 μm. By accumulating spectral intensity, background removal, and abnormal point processing, the calibration results for the eight elements of Mn, Cr, Ni, Cu, Ti, V, Nb and Al were not less than 0.95 using the basic calibration method. Among them, the calibration results for Ni, Cu, V, Nb, Al elements are all higher than 0.99 and the detection limits of the obtained elements range from 0.04% to 1.8%.

Abstract:Herein, a sensitivity enhancement technique for laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) by atmospheric pressure glow discharge was proposed, while cylindrical confinement was used for further improvement. A comprehensive parameters evaluation of the proposed technique was carried out (at the laser energy of 30 mJ), with the emission intensities of Ti, Ni, Cu, Y, Ba, La, Eu, Yb, and Lu in soil samples enhanced by 17.8, 5.7, 5.2, 10.5, 7.4, 6.1, 8.7, 7.8, and 8.7 times, respectively. The limits of detection (LODs) of Ti, Ni, Cu, Y, Ba, La, Eu, Yb, and Lu were significantly decreased from 246, 356, 133, 158, 10, 175, 102, 105, and 262 mg kg-1 to 43, 67, 31, 20, 2, 35, 21, 18, and 49 mg kg-1, respectively. In addition, the possible signal enhancement mechanism was preliminarily explained by studying the plasma electron temperature and density with and without the proposed sensitization strategy.

Abstract:Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) technique is widely used to analyze the composition and the concentration of elements in materials,which is based on the atomic excitation and emission spectrum.It has many advantages,such as rapid,multi-element simultaneous detection and without sample pretreatment.In this paper,research progress on the application of metal element detection in such fields as alloy,soil,water,and food is reviewed.It is considered that there are some problems in this technology at present,such as low detection accuracy,poor repeatability,unstable detection signal.It is also found that the research and development of LIBS based metal element detection instrument should be developed towards the direction of conventional,portable and high precision.

Abstract:The relatively low repeatability of laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) severely hinders its wide commercialization. In the present work, we investigate the optimization of LIBS system for repeatability improvement for both signal generation (plasma evolution) and signal collection. Timeintegrated spectra and images were obtained under different laser energies and focal lengths to investigate the optimum configuration for stable plasmas and repeatable signals. Using our experimental setup, the optimum conditions were found to be a laser energy of 250 mJ and a focus length of 100 mm. A stable and homogeneous plasma with the largest hot core area in the optimum condition yielded the most stable LIBS signal. Time-resolved images showed that the rebounding processes through the air plasma evolution caused the relative standard deviation (RSD) to increase with laser energies of > 250 mJ. In addition, the emission collection was improved by using a concave spherical mirror. The line intensities doubled as their RSDs decreased by approximately 25%. When the signal generation and collection were optimized simultaneously, the pulse-to-pulse RSDs were reduced to approximately 3% for O(I), N(I), and H(I) lines, which are better than the RSDs reported for solid samples and showed great potential for LIBS quantitative analysis by gasifying the solid or liquid samples.

Abstract:Moderate cylindrical cavity was used to regularize the laser-induced plasma for signal strength enhancement and precision improvement in laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS). A polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) plate of 1.5 mm thickness with diameter of 3 mm was fabricated. It was placed closely on a sample surface and a laser pulse was shot through the center of the hole to the sample. Using coal as samples, it was verified that the configuration both enhanced the spectral line intensity and reduced shot-to-shot fluctuation, showing its great potential in improving the precision of LIBS analysis.

Abstract:Nuclear power overhaul can benefit from a fiber-optic laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (FO-LIBS) setup for in situ composition measurements. Regarding FO-LIBS, the pulsed energy of the fiber-delivery laser is limited, and the spot profile received by the sample surface is distorted from a Gaussian to a flat-top distribution. Therefore, the induced plasma in FO-LIBS is characterized by weakened emission, shortened lifetime, and insufficient sampling of minor components compared with that of conventional LIBS. This could not meet the quantitative demands of the minor component with a concentration of 0.01 wt% or lower in structural steel. In this study, by modifying the mechanical structure of the front-end sensor, a space constraint condition can be created for plasma emission enhancement. By combining the optical diagnostics of fast photograph and shadowgraph, shockwave propagation and plasma expansion can be visualized synchronously. The reflected shockwave decelerates in the process of propagating towards the plasma, accompanied by morphological changes from the oblate cylinder to the hemisphere. It can be demonstrated that the plasma is constricted by the reflected shockwave associated with a significant increase in the plasma temperature and electron number density. The plate spacing determines the time delay of spectral enhancement and also determines the enhancement factor corresponding to the velocity attenuation of shockwave propagation over a long distance. The enhancement factor is found to be inversely proportional to the quadratic square of the propagation velocity of shockwave just after reflection, and shows an upward trend with increasing upper-level energy of atomic transitions. A maximum enhancement factor of ~3.52 is realized with a time delay of 4 μs at a plate spacing of 3 mm, and trace components Mo, V, and Cu are newly recognized, which cannot be observed in conventional FO-LIBS. Meanwhile, the calibration of trace Cr and Mn suggests that the quantitative results using the sensor coupled with spatial confinement are comparable, and the limits of detection are reduced to 31 ppm and 475 ppm, respectively.

Abstract:Laser induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) is a spectral analysis technique characterized by the merits including rapidity, simple sample preparation, and spontaneous multi-element analysis, etc. In LIBS detection, the ambient gas plays an important role in interacting with the fast-expanding laser induced plasma (LIP) and greatly affects the LIBS signal. Therefore, it is important to investigate the effects of the ambient gas, especially the gas properties such as molecular weight, ionization energy, and thermal capacity, etc. on LIBS signals to better understand the interactions between the surrounding gas and the LIP, and improve the signal quality of LIBS. However, it is very hard to change only one property of the ambient gas while keeping the others unchanged because of the unavailability of such gases, thus in this study, a series of gas mixtures composed of He, Ne and Ar were utilized to obtain diverse properties necessary for the investigation, while titanium alloy is used as a sample. Results revealed that for some gas mixtures (such as 40% He, 40% Ne, and 20% Ar gas mixture), signal intensities were enhanced and relative standard deviation (RSD) values were significantly decreased. The plasma temperature T, electron density ne, and total number density ns were also calculated to analyze the mechanism of gas effect on LIBS signals. Results showed that the change of the gas species mainly has influences on the total number density ns, and further leads to the change of signals intensities and RSDs. The relation between some gas properties and LIBS signal was then discussed and the mechanism of some leading properties, such as the molecular weight, ionization energy, thermal conductivity, and viscosity were analyzed to explain how these properties work on LIBS signals.

Abstract:Minimizing sample damage is crucial in laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) for applications involving valuable samples and elemental mapping. In this study, we introduced a low-power atmospheric pressure plasma jet (APPJ) to reduce sample damage by obtaining LIBS signals at significantly lower laser fluences. The proposed technique, APPJ-assisted LIBS (APPJ-LIBS), utilized an argon APPJ to provide seed electrons and enhance the excitation. The APPJ was generated by a 10 kHz alternating current power supply and made contact with the surface of a brass sample at a 30° angle. An infrared nanosecond Nd:YAG laser was focused onto the contacting zone, allowing the resulting laser-induced plasma to evolve within the surrounding APPJ and produce optical emission. The optimized APPJ-LIBS system reduced the laser fluence threshold for spectral detection of the brass sample by 97 %, from 1.43 J/cm 2 to 0.05 J/cm 2 , which represented the lowest laser fluence threshold reported in LIBS studies on copper-based materials. Micrographs of the sample surface showed no visible damage after the APPJ-LIBS measurement at a near-threshold laser fluence and an APPJ input power as low as 6.0 W. Furthermore, gated images showed the plasma evolution in APPJ-LIBS and confirmed the excitation capability of the APPJ for the laser-ablated materials.

Abstract:Background Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) has long been regarded as the future superstar for chemical analysis. However, hindered by the fact that the signal source of LIBS is a spatially and temporally unstable plasma that interacts dramatically with ambient gases, LIBS has always suffered from poor signal quality, especially low signal repeatability. Although ambient gases act as one of the most direct and critical factors affecting LIBS signals, a clear understanding on how ambient gas properties impact LIBS signals is still lacking to act as guideline for the signal quality improvement. Results In this work, the impact mechanism of three main ambient gas properties, including specific heat ratio (), molar mass (), and ionization energy () was investigated by ignoring secondary properties, accurately proportioning gas mixtures, and experimental comparative study by applying various plasma diagnosis methods. The results indicate that these three properties impact signal repeatability by impacting the intensity of the back-pressing process within the plasma, where the sound speed determined by and plays an important role. The properties impact the signal intensity by impacting three energy transfer processes in the plasma, including the laser energy absorption, the energy allocation between gas and sample species, and the heat dissipation. Based on the impact mechanism, guidelines of regulating the ambient gas properties to improvement LIBS signal were further provided. Significance For the first time, the impact mechanism of main ambient gas properties on LIBS signals was clearly and intuitively revealed. The impact mechanism not only provided a deeper understanding of the plasma evolution process but also provided practical guidelines for improving LIBS signal quality, facilitating accurate quantification of the LIBS technique.

Abstract:Laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) is regarded as the future superstar for chemical analysis, but the relatively high measurement uncertainty and error remain the persistent challenges for its technological development as well as wide applications. In the present work, mechanisms of measurement uncertainty generation and basic principle of signal uncertainty and matrix effects impacting quantification performance were explained. Furthermore, methods for raw signal improvement including sample preparation, system optimization, and especially plasma modulation, which modulates the laser-induced plasma evolution process for higher signal repeatability and signal-to-noise ratio, were reviewed and discussed. Different LIBS mathematical quantification methods including calibration-free methods and calibration methods, which were classified into physical-principle based calibration model, data-driven based calibration model, and hybrid model, were discussed and compared. Overall, a framework of quantification improvement strategy including key steps and main way-out was summarized and recommended for LIBS future development.

Abstract:The self-absorption effect reduces the accuracy of element measurements in laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) experiments. In this paper, the mechanism of the self-absorption effect was studied. First, we established a plasma concentration distribution model and plasma dynamics model of the plasma expansion in three directions during LIBS based on physical laws. By coupling a plasma concentration distribution model with a self-absorption model, the LIBS self-absorption effect value model was obtained. Second, the models were applied in a numerical simulation to determine plasma spatial distribution characteristics during LIBS. The self-absorption effect values of spectral lines were calculated. Finally, experiments were conducted with an optical spectrometer to obtain the Na, K, and Al atomic emission spectra. On the theoretical plane, the Boltzmann plot method and the Stark broadening method were used to obtain the plasma characteristic parameters. The spectral line intensities of the Na, K and Al atom lines were obtained without and with microwave-assisted LIBS experiments for comparison. The experimental analysis showed that during the LIBS process, microwave assistance can enhance the emission spectroscopy intensity and inhibit or reduce the LIBS self-absorption effect. The experimental samples were in good agreement with those of theoretical simulation, indicating the effectiveness and practicability of the created LIBS self-absorption effect value model, which can improve the optimization of the LIBS process.

Abstract:Due to plasma quenching caused by the dense water medium, laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) faces challenges such as strong continuous background radiation, weak and broadened characteristic spectral lines when directly detecting metal elements in liquids. In this work, we introduced a simple approach to improve underwater LIBS signal with solid substrate-assisted method, which requires no sample pre-treatment and simple operation, thus has potential for in-situ marine application. In this method, four submerged solid substrates (Zn, Cu, Ni, Si) were employed to investigate the breakdown characteristics of underwater LIBS and the mechanism of spectral enhancement by using a CaCl2 solution. The results demonstrated significant improvement in the detection sensitivity of Ca with these substrates even at a short laser pulse with a relative low laser energy (10 mJ). Among them, the semiconductor Si substrate exhibited the best enhancement effect, with an enhancement factor over 75 for the Ca ionic lines at 393.4 nm and 396.8 nm, and an enhancement factor of 29 for the Ca atomic line at 422.7 nm, respectively. This mainly because the presence of substrate decreases the breakdown threshold of liquid sample, and higher plasma excitation temperature and electron density are obtained, accordingly leading to higher signal intensity. Furthermore, significant plasma emission enhancements for a wide range of elements are also achieved from seawater. These findings can contribute to the development of compact underwater in-situ LIBS sensors with low power consumption meanwhile ensuring high detection sensitivity.

Abstract:In laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS), a focused laser pulse is used to ablate material from a surface and form a laser plasma that excites the vaporized material. Geometric factors, such as the distance between the sample and the focusing lens and the method of collecting the plasma light, can greatly influence the analytical results. To obtain the best quantitative results, one must consider this geometry. Here we report the results of an investigation of the effect of sampling geometry on LIBS measurements. Diagnostics include time-resolved spectroscopy and temporally and spectrally resolved imaging using an acousto-optic tunable filter (AOTF). Parameters investigated include the type of lens (cylindrical or spherical) used to focus the laser pulse onto the sample, the focal length of the lens (75 or 150 mm), the lens-to-sample distance (LTSD), the angle-of-incidence of the laser pulse onto the sample, and the method used to collect the plasma light (lens or fiber-optic bundle). From these studies, it was found that atomic emission intensities, plasma temperature, and mass of ablated material depend strongly on the LTSD for both types of lenses. For laser pulse energies above the breakdown threshold for air, these quantities exhibit symmetric behavior about an LTSD approximately equal to the back focal length for cylindrical lenses and asymmetric behavior for spherical lenses. For pulse energies below the air breakdown threshold, results obtained for both lenses display symmetric behavior. Detection limits and measurement precision for the elements Be, Cr, Cu, Mn, Pb, and Sr, determined with the use of 14 certified reference soils and stream sediments, were found to be independent of the lens used. Time-resolved images of the laser plasma show that at times >5 μs after plasma formation a cloud of emitting atoms extends significantly beyond the centrally located, visibly white, intense plasma core present at early times (<0.3 μs). It was determined that, by collecting light from the edges of the emitting cloud, one can record spectra using an ungated detector (no time resolution) that resemble closely the spectra obtained from a gated detector providing time-resolved detection. This result has implications in the development of less expensive LIBS detection systems.

Abstract:Abstract In the field of dual-pulse laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (DP-LIBS) research, the pursuit for determining pulse interval and other parameters quickly and conveniently in order to achieve optimal spectral signal enhancement is paramount. To aid researchers in identifying the optimal signal enhancement conditions and more accurately interpreting the underlying signal enhancement mechanisms, theoretical simulations of the spatiotemporal processes of coaxial DP-LIBS plasma inducing have been established in this work. By means of a model based on laser ablation and two-dimensional axisymmetric fluid dynamics, plasma evolution during aluminum-magnesium alloy laser ablation under single pulse and coaxial dual pulse excitations have been simulated. The influence of factors such as delay time, laser fluence, plasma temperature, particle number density, etc., on the DP-LIBS spectral signals are investigated. Under pulse intervals ranging from 50 to 1500 ns, the time evolution of spectral line intensity, dual-pulse emission enhancement relative to the single-pulse results, laser irradiance, spatial distribution of plasma temperature and species number density, as well as laser irradiance shielded by plasma have been obtained. The study indicates that the main reason behind the radiation signal enhancement in coaxial DP-LIBS induced plasma is attributed to increased species number density and plasma temperature caused by the second laser, and it is inferred that the shielding effect of the plasma mainly occurs in the boundary layer of the stagnation point flow over the target surface. This research provides a theoretical basis for experimental research, parameter optimization, and signal enhancement tracing in DP-LIBS.

Abstract:Double-pulse laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (DP-LIBS) is the most effective LIBS signal enhancement method widely used in various fields. Due to adding an extra laser pulse, DP-LIBS experiments have more possibilities for research. Since the proposal of DP-LIBS technology in 1998, researchers have devoted themselves to much research on DP-LIBS. Research on DP-LIBS has been more common and innovative in the last 5 years. This review aims to comprehensively analyze DP-LIBS's experimental research and application, focusing on the various studies conducted in this area. The latest advancements in DP-LIBS experiments are summarized, including the instruments studies (such as geometric configurations, experimental parameters, and conditions). It also discusses the mechanism of DP-LIBS and its combination with other enhancement methods and spectroscopies. Moreover, the application of DP-LIBS is categorized into five domains: geological exploration and environmental monitoring, metallurgical industry, energy industry, biological application, and other applications. The applications of DP-LIBS in various fields are further elaborated.

Abstract:It is still challenging to apply laser-induced breakdown spectroscopy (LIBS) to slurry on-stream analysis due to the moisture in slurry samples causing the low spectral intensity. In this work, a high-frequency pulsed fiber laser was proposed to quickly remove the moisture in slurry samples at the detection point for the first time. The spectral emission intensity and line broadening due Stark effect were investigated for the dual-pulse of fiber laser assisted LIBS (FL-LIBS) mode and signal-pulse LIBS (SP-LIBS) mode. It found that the spectral intensities of Fe and Ca elements were enhanced, while the matrix elements of H and O elements were decreased. Moreover, the currently available spectroscopic diagnostics of plasma, such Boltzmann plot have been used to measure the plasma temperature, while the hydrogen line broadening have been used in the characterization of electron densities. It reveals the type of higher-temperature and lower-density plasma was obtained. The experimental results demonstrated that the fiber laser had the potential to improve LIBS signal intensity and spectral resolution for aqueous matrix samples.

Abstract:Relatively high uncertainty (or low repeatability) is one of the main bottlenecks for wide application of LIBS quantitative measurements. The change of plasma temperature and electron number density from pulse to pulse weakens the correlation between the ablation mass and total or part of the spectral area for the same sample, making the normally applied normalization method not effective enough for uncertainty reduction. In the present work, it was assumed that there existed a standard state for samples with similar matrix, where there is a standard plasma temperature, electron number density, and total number density of the element of interest. Therefore, Taylor expansion can be applied near the standard plasma condition to obtain the standard state value of the characteristic line intensity from theory. The temperature variation was regarded to be proportional to the variation of the logarithm of the ratio of two spectral line intensities of the interested element, the variation of electron number density was regarded to be proportional to the variation of the full width at half maximum (FWHM), and the variation of total number density was regarded to be proportional to the variation of the sum of the multiple spectral line intensities of the measured element. Based on these assumptions, the calibration model was established. The results show that measurement precision and accuracy can be greatly improved by the application of this normalization method in measuring the Cu concentration for 29 brass alloy samples. The average relative standard deviation (RSD) value, the coefficient of determination (R-2), the root mean square error of prediction (RMSEP), and average value of the maximum relative error were 2.92%, 0.99, 1.46%, 8.42%, respectively, while the values for normalization with the whole spectrum area were: 8.61%, 0.95, 3.28%, 29.19%, respectively, showing significant improvement.
