Abstract:Background: A topological index is a real number associated with a graph that provides information about its physical and chemical properties and their correlations. Topological indices are being used successfully in Chemistry, Computer Science, and many other fields. Methods: In this article, we apply the well-known Cartesian product on F-sums of connected and finite graphs. We formulate sharp limits for some famous degree-dependent indices. Results: Zagreb indices for the graph operations T(G), Q(G), S(G), R(G), and their F-sums have been computed. By using orders and sizes of component graphs, we derive bounds for Zagreb indices, F-index, and Narumi-Katayana index. Conclusion: The formulation of expressions for the complicated products on F-sums, in terms of simple parameters like maximum and minimum degrees of basic graphs, reduces the computational complexities.

Abstract:Z-number, a new concept describes both the restriction and the reliability of evaluation, is more applicable than fuzzy numbers in the fields of decision making, risk assessment etc. However, how to deal with the restriction and the reliability properly is still a problem which is discussed few and inadequately in the existing literatures. In this paper, firstly, a new improved method for ranking generalized fuzzy numbers where the weight of centroid points, degrees of fuzziness and the spreads of fuzzy numbers are taken into consideration is proposed, which can overcome some drawbacks of exiting methods and is very efficient for evaluating symmetric fuzzy numbers and crisp numbers. Then, a procedure for evaluating Znumbers with the method for ranking generalized fuzzy numbers is presented, which considers the status of two parts (((A) over tilde,(B) under tilde)) of Z-numbers and gives the principles of ranking Z-numbers. The main advantage of the proposed method is utilization of Z-numbers which can express more vague information compared with the fuzzy number. In addition, instead of converting (B) over tilde to a crisp number as the existing methods of ranking Z-numbers did, the proposed method retains the fuzzy information of (B) over tilde which can reduce the loss of information. Finally, several numerical examples are provided to illustrate the superiority and the rationality of the proposed procedure.

Abstract:Topological indices are the numbers that remain constant under graph automorphism. Topological indices describe a network's connectivity, structure, and topological characteristics. These indices have many applications in crisp graphs. However, in many cases, it is observed that some situations can't be described using the idea of crisp graphs. So, to overcome this issue, the need to define topological indices for fuzzy and bipolar fuzzy graphs arises. The F-index, or the Forgotten Index, is a significant topological index. A bipolar fuzzy graph with two opposite-sided opinions of both the edges and vertices measures the impreciseness or uncertainties of the edges and vertices along the positive and negative sides. In this article, we have presented the Forgotten Index for bipolar fuzzy graphs. Then, we have proved some theorems regarding the F-index of numerous types of bipolar fuzzy graphs, such as regular bipolar fuzzy graphs, complete bipolar fuzzy graphs, etc., the bounds of the F-index in bipolar fuzzy graphs, and the relationships of the F-index with other topological indices in bipolar fuzzy graphs. We have applied the proposed topological index, the F-index for bipolar fuzzy graphs, to matrimonial websites to find potential life partners based on compatibility and discussed the application of the Forgotten Index in gene regulatory networks.

Abstract:Consider a simple graph $\mathbb{G} = (\mathcal{V}, \mathcal{E}) $, where $ \mathcal{V} $ are the vertices and $ \mathcal{E} $ are the edges. The first Zagreb index, $\mathbb{M}_{1}(\mathbb{G}) = \sum_{v \in \mathcal{V}} \psi_\mathbb{G}(v)^2$. The second Zagreb index, $\mathbb{M}_{2}(\mathbb{G}) = \sum_{uv \in \mathcal{E}} \psi_\mathbb{G}(u) \psi_\mathbb{G}(v)$. The metric dimension of a graph refers to the smallest subset of vertices in a resolving set such that the distances from these vertices to all others in the graph uniquely identify each vertex. In this paper, we characterize bounds for the Zagreb indices of trees, based on the order of the tree and its metric dimension. Furthermore, we identify the trees that achieve these extremal bounds, offering valuable insights into how the metric dimension influences the behavior of the Zagreb indices in tree structures.

Abstract:Using fuzzy graph theoretical and computational methods, the multidisciplinary discipline of chemical graph theory examines the molecular formation of a chemical molecule as a fuzzy graph and looks into related mathematical questions. An effective tool in this field that links a numerical value to a graph formation is the topological index. The neighborhood inverse sum indeg index stands out as a contemporary index derived from neighborhood degree considerations. Neighborhood inverse sum indeg index is a crucial graph metric that is applied in real-world applications like corporate networking and signalling on traffic. So this index is generalized in fuzzy graph. In this paper, the neighborhood inverse sum indeg index is explored for some fuzzy graphs like a tree, double star, subgraph, star, complete fuzzy graph, complete bipartite graph, etc. . We evaluate the effect of neighborhood inverse sum indeg index value when the vertex or edge is deleted from a graph. Moreover, the relationship between two isomorphic fuzzy graphs are determined. We have determined the boundedness of this index for some fuzzy graphs like , , etc. Also a couple of results are found. We all aware that one cause of global warming is the carbon emission. Finally we have found out the country which needs to reduce the carbon emissions by applying the concept of neighborhood inverse sum indeg index.

Abstract:The study of topological indices for fuzzy graphs is beneficial for fuzzy multi-criteria decision-making problems and various connected fuzzy networks. In this paper, we discuss two fuzzy topological indices, namely fuzzy Randic index and fuzzy harmonic index. We establish several upper bounds for these fuzzy indices. We also present the lower bounds of these indices for different fuzzy products, i.e., Cartesian product, cross product and lexicographic product. These results and bounds are established in terms of parameters, like number of nodes, edges, minimum and maximum vertex and edge membership, etc. We also present an algorithm to determine Randic index of vertices of fuzzy graph. Finally, we implement our model of fuzzy Randic index in cybercrime problem for detection of more active criminal who is involved in many crimes with other criminals.

Abstract:Let $G = (V, E)$ be a graph. The first Zagreb index and the forgotten topological index of a graph $G$ are defined respectively as $\sum_{u \in V} d^2(u)$ and $\sum_{u \in V} d^3(u)$, where $d(u)$ is the degree of vertex $u$ in $G$. If the minimum degree of $G$ is at least one, the inverse degree of $G$ is defined as $\sum_{u \in V} \frac{1}{d(u)}$. In this paper, we, for a graph with minimum degree at least one, present an upper bound for the first Zagreb index of the graph and lower bounds for the forgotten topological index and the inverse degree of the graph. We also present sufficient conditions involving the first Zagreb index, the forgotten topological index, or the inverse degree for some Hamiltonian properties of a graph.

Abstract:Chemical structures are transformed into real numbers employing topological indices, which enable numerical computations to substitute pricey wet lab experiments. The spectral properties of topological indices can be investigated by appropriate modification of adjacency matrix. Gutman and Trinajstic, pioneers in the field of chemical graph theory, presented the Zagreb indices, which have governed topological indices research since 1972. The modified adjacency matrix associated to the second Zagreb index (M2) is studied in this work. The second Zagreb energy (ZE2) is generated from this matrix. The application potential of ZE2 is explored by investigating its efficiency in modelling physico-chemical properties of molecules and isomer discrimination. We aim to set up crucial bounds of spectral radius and spread with identifying extremal graphs. Moreover, the ZE2 energy is investigated for numerous special graphs including regular, semi-regular and chain graphs. We construct a divisor type matrix to estimate the M2-spectrum and ZE2 energy of the chain graph.

Sharp Bounds for Generalized Zagreb Indices of Graphs

Abstract:In the last forty years, many scientists used graph theory to develop mathematical models for analyzing structures and properties of various chemical compounds. In this paper, we will establish formulas and bounds for generalized first Zagreb Index and coindex, which are based on degrees of vertices. In addition, for triangle and quadrangle free graphs, we will establish formulas and bounds for generalized first leap Zagreb Index and coindex, which are based on 2-distance degrees of vertices. Additionally, we will establish sharp bounds of generalized first Zagreb index and the leap index for various types of graphs and provide examples for which the sharp bounds are attained. In addition, we will find regression models and compare the first Zagreb index and the first leap Zagreb index for predicting some physicochemical properties of certain chemical compounds, benzenoid hydrocarbons.

Abstract:Graph theory is a mathematical framework that can be used to model and analyze complex networks. Topology plays a key role in determining the compatibility of chemical graphs. Topological indices have been widely applied in a wide range of domains, such as chemistry, biological activity prediction, environmental risk assessment, and drug design. These indices can predict aqueous solubility, dipole moment, viscosity, boiling degree, refractive index, toxicity, and surface tension, among other physicochemical characteristics. Topological descriptors also assist us in the quantitative analysis and comparison of molecules by simplifying complicated molecular information. In this paper, we have computed the first Zagreb connection index ZC 1 , the second Zagreb connection index ZC 2 , and the first modified Zagreb connection index ZC1*. Further, a few recently introduced Zagreb connection indices like atom-bond connectivity, geomatric-arithmatic, and hyper-Zagreb connection indices are also calculated for the melem chain MC ( m ), the borophene chain B36(m), and the boron triangular sheet BTS ( m , n ). Our goal is to comprehend the molecular connections between these substances. Through the study of several mathematical methods, we discovered intriguing relationships and patterns within their structures. The primary objective of our research is to learn more about these compounds and the relationship between their molecular structures and properties. Every chemical, as we have seen, has distinct properties. The ability to predict the behavior of these molecules under different conditions might open up new research avenues and practical applications.

Abstract:One of the most important information related to molecular graphs is given by the determination (when possible) of upper and lower bounds for their corresponding topological indices. Such bounds allow to establish the approximate range of the topological indices in terms of molecular structural parameters. The purpose of this paper is to provide new inequalities relating several classes of variable topological indices including the first and second general Zagreb indices, the general sum-connectivity index, and the variable inverse sum deg index. Also, upper and lower bounds on the inverse degree in terms of the first general Zagreb are found. Moreover, the characterization of extremal graphs with respect to many of these inequalities is obtained. Finally, some applications are given.

Abstract:A graph invariant, in the sense of graph automorphism, is a mapping from the set of graphs to the reals. Numerous topological indices have been proposed to characterize the topological properties of graphs, and they are widely recognized as graph invariants. Some sufficient conditions in terms of certain topological indices have been suggested to describe hamiltonian properties of graphs, such as Hamiltonicity, traceability, Hamiltonian-connectedness, k -leaf-connectedness, as well as -deficiency. For a graph G , the first and second Zagreb indices are defined as and , where denotes the degree of vertex u in G . The difference of Zagreb indices of G is defined as . In this paper, we suggest some sufficient conditions in terms of for graphs to be Hamiltonian, Hamiltonian-connected and -deficient, respectively.

Abstract:There is powerful relation between the chemical behaviour of chemical compounds and their molecular structures. Topological indices defined on these chemical molecular structures are capable to predict physical properties, chemical reactivity and biological activity. In this article, a new topological index named as Neighbourhood Zagreb index $(M_N)$ is presented. Here the chemical importance of this newly introduced index is studied and some explicit results for this index of different product graphs such as Cartesian, Tensor and Wreath product is derived. Some of these results are applied to obtain the Neighbourhood Zagreb index of several chemically important graphs and nano-structures.

Abstract:A benzenoid is a class of chemical compounds with at least one benzene ring(hexagon as a graph) and resonance bonds in the benzene ring give increased stability in benzenoids. A finite connected subgraph of the infinite hexagonal lattice without cut vertices or non-hexagonal interior faces is said to be a benzenoid system (or a hexagonal system) and these systems are geometric figures. Benzenoid systems are widely used because they are the representations of the skeletons (focussing on the structure induced by the carbon atoms) of molecules of benzenoid hydrocarbons.The first and second Zagreb indices are among the most studied topological indices. We now consider analogous graph invariants, based on the second degrees of vertices, called Zagreb connection indices. The main objective of this paper is to compute these connection indices for six benzenoid systems(three catacondensed and three pericondensed systems). In the end, an application of the obtained results for these indices of some classes of benzenoid systems is also included. Mainly, a comparison among the Zagreb connection indices of some benzenoid systems is performed with the help of numerical tables and 3 D plots.

Abstract:The paper discusses the edge hyper-Zagreb index of a graph, which is calculated by replacing vertex degrees with edge degrees. The degree of an edge is determined by adding up the degrees of the end vertices of the edge and subtracting 2. We examine the edge hyper-Zagreb index of the Cartesian product and join of graphs, and also calculate it for organic linear Acenes molecules with the formula (C4n+2H2n+4). We establish a correlation between topological indices based on the number of rings and predict thermodynamic properties of Acenes family, such as electron affinity, bond, heat of formation and gap energy, using the Topological Indices Method (T IM).

Abstract:In QSAR/QSPR study, physico-chemical properties and topological indices such as Randić, atom-bond connectivity (ABC) and geometric-arithmetic (GA) index are used to predict the bioactivity of chemical compounds. A topological index is actually designed by transforming a chemical structure into a numeric number. These topological indices correlate certain physico-chemical properties like boiling point, stability, strain energy etc of chemical compounds. Graph theory has found a considerable use in this area of research.The topological properties of certain networks are studied recently in [13] by Hayat and Imran (2014). In this paper, we extend this study to interconnection networks and derive analytical closed results of general Randić index Rα(G) for different values of “α” for butterfly and Benes networks. We also compute first Zagreb, ABC, and GA indices for these important classes of networks. Moreover, we construct two new classes of mesh derived networks by using some basic operations of graphs on m×n mesh networks, and then study certain topological indices for these classes of networks.
