Abstract:Citrus is an important genus in the Rutaceae family, and citrus peels can be used in both food and herbal medicine. However, the bulk of citrus peels are discarded as waste by the fruit processing industry, causing environmental pollution. This study aimed to provide guidelines for the rational and effective use of citrus peels by elucidating the volatile and nonvolatile metabolites within them using metabolomics based on headspace-gas chromatography-ion mobility spectrometry and ultra-high-performance liquid chromatography-Q-Orbitrap high-resolution mass spectrometry. In addition, the antioxidant activities of the citrus peels were evaluated using DPPH radical scavenging, ABTS radical scavenging, and ferric reducing antioxidant power. In total, 103 volatile and 53 nonvolatile metabolites were identified and characterized. Alcohols, aldehydes, and terpenes constituted 87.36% of the volatile metabolites, while flavonoids and carboxylic acids accounted for 85.46% of the nonvolatile metabolites. Furthermore, (Z)-2-penten-1-ol, L-pipecolinic acid, and limonin were identified as characteristic components of Citrus reticulata Blanco cv. Ponkan (PK), C. reticulata 'Unshiu' (CLU), and C. reticulata 'Wo Gan' (WG), respectively. Principal component analysis and partial least squares discriminant analysis indicated that C. reticulata Blanco 'Chun Jian' (CJ), PK, CLU, and C. reticulata 'Dahongpao' (DHP) were clustered together. DHP is a traditional Chinese medicine documented in the Chinese Pharmacopoeia, suggesting that the chemical compositions of CJ, PK, and CLU may also have medicinal values similar to those of DHP. Moreover, DHP, PK, C. reticulata 'Ai Yuan 38'(AY38), CJ, C. reticulata 'Gan Ping'(GP), and C. reticulata 'Qing Jian'(QJ) displayed better antioxidant activities, recommending their use as additives in cosmetics and food. Correlation analysis suggested that some polyphenols including tangeritin, nobiletin, skullcapflavone II, genistein, caffeic acid, and isokaempferide were potential antioxidant compounds in citrus peel. The results of this study deepen our understanding of the differences in metabolites and antioxidant activities of different citrus peel varieties and ultimately provide guidance for the full and rational use of citrus peels.

Abstract:Some dried citrus peels, more familiar as chenpi in China, have been widely used in traditional Chinese medicines from ancient times. This paper reports the efficiency of infusion cooking on extracting minerals and phenolic compounds (flavanone glycosides [FGs], polymethoxylated flavones [PMFs], and phenolic acids), and also antioxidant activity of hot water extract of citrus peels. Peels of 2 citrus varieties, namely, Satsuma mandarin (C. unshiu Marc.) and Ponkan (C. poonensis Hort. ex Tanaka), which belong to C. reticulata, were selected. As a result, hot water extraction was efficient in extracting phenolic acids and some minerals. As for citrus flavonoids, narirutin, nobiletin, and tangeretin were easier to extract than hesperidin. The result of antioxidant capacity assays indicated that for citrus peels, hot water extract had almost the same capacity as the methanol extract. We suggested that Ponkan was more suitable as the source of chenpi, since its hot water extract had much higher content of phenolic acids, FGs and PMFs, and higher antioxidant capacity than those of Satsuma mandarin. Generally, to raise the extraction temperature or to prolong the time could not yield higher content of phenolic compounds and stronger antioxidant capacity, though the content of minerals increased to some extent. Furthermore, a 2nd-time extraction seemed necessary since considerable minerals and phenolic compounds could be obtained by doing so. Finally, we suggested that 2 times extraction at 100 degrees C for 30 min was proper to extract the minerals and phenolic compounds in chenpi.

Abstract:OBJECTIVE:To study the chemical constituents of the peels collected from Citrus changshan-huyou Y. B. Chang, and further screen the bioactive components as the lead structures.METHODS:These compounds were isolated by repeated flash column chromatography on silica gel and Sephadex LH-20. The structures of isolated compounds were elucidated by using IR, EIMS, and NMR analyses.RESULTS:One novel compound along with nine known compounds were obtained and identified as huyoujiasu(I), 3-hydroxy-4-methoxybenzoic acid(II), 3, 4-dihydroxybenzoic acid(III), fatty acid(IV), glyceride(V), 6, 7-dimethoxycoumarin(VI), 6', 7'-dihydroxybergamottin(VII), daucossterol A(VIII), daucossterol B(IX) and huyou-triterpenoid(X).CONCLUSION:One new compound, Huyoujiasu, was obtained from these peels by repeated column chromatography, and the other known compounds were isolated from this fruit for the first time as well.
Phenolic Composition of Chinese Wild Mandarin (citrus Reticulata Balnco.) Pulps and Their Antioxidant Properties

Abstract:As one of the most important centers of origin for the genus Citrus L., China is rich in wild mandarin germplasm. In this study, phenolic compounds in the fruit pulps of 14 wild mandarins (Citrus reticulata Blanco.) native to China were determined and their antioxidant capacities were evaluated by the DPPH, FRAP, ABTS, and ORAC methods. We found that Nieduyeju had the highest total phenolic content (22.26±0.64mg/g DW), and Wangcangzhoupigan had the highest total flavonoid content (3.82±0.19mg/g, DW). Hesperidin was the dominant flavonoid, and Guangxihongpisuanju (22.13±0.33mg/g DW) was with the highest content of this flavonoid among the 14 samples studied. Ferulic acid was the most abundant phenolic acid, and Nieduyeju (2336.07±145.66μg/g, DW) was with the highest extractable ferulic acid, while Guangxihongpisuanju (170.28±5.03μg/g, DW) was with the highest bound ferulic acid. Additionally, the overall antioxidant potency composite (APC) index showed obvious variations in the citrus fruits examined (52.26–88.73). The wild citrus fruits Nieduyeju, Wangcangzhoupigan and Guangxihongpisuanju presented significantly higher APC indices than the mandarin cultivars Satsuma and Ponkan (p<0.05). Overall, Nieduyeju, Guangxihongpisuanju, and Wangcangzhoupigan fruits pulps contained more phenolics and exhibited higher antioxidant capacities than the cultivars Satsuma and Ponkan, and were good sources of phytochemicals and natural antioxidants.

Ferulic acid was the most abundant phenolic acid analyzed, and Nieduyeju (7780.17 μg/g DW) and Guangxihongpisuanju (13,607.19 μg/g DW) had the highest contents of extractable and bound phenolic acid, respectively. Antioxidant potency composite (APC) index showed obvious variations ranging from 58.84 to 98.89 in the studied wild mandarins, among them, Nieduyeju had the highest APC index. Overall, Guangxihongpisuanju, Nieduyeju, Cupigoushigan and Daoxianyeju contained more phenolics and exhibited higher antioxidant capacities than the mandarin cultivars Satsuma and Ponkan.

Abstract:The quality of Chinese medicinal materials depends on the content of bioactive components, which are affected by the environmental factors of different planting regions. In this research, integrated analysis of the transcriptome and metabolome of C. reticulata 'Chachi' was performed in two regions, and three orchards were included in the analysis. In total, only 192 compounds were found in fresh peels, and among 18 differentially accumulated flavonoid metabolites, 15 flavonoids were enriched in peels from the Xinhui planting region. In total, 1228 genes were up-regulated in peels from Xinhui, including the CHS and GST genes, which are involved in the salt stress response. Overall, based on the correlation analysis of flavonoid content and gene expression in peels of C. reticulata 'Chachi', we concluded that the authenticity of the GCRP from Xinhui may be closely related to the higher content of naringin and narirutin, and the increase in the content of these may be due to the highly saline environment of the Xinhui region.

Abstract:Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium (CRP), known as Chenpi (CP) in Chinese, is a medicinal food for health and fitness. In order to find out the characteristic activity chemicals distinguishing various cultivars of CRP and provide a reference for effective development of citrus resources, an “activity fingerprint” of CRP from 21 different cultivars was established based on the evaluation of antitussive and expectorant activities. There were 18 common peaks in the HPLC fingerprint, of which 3 flavonoid glycosides and 14 polymethoxyflavonoids (PMFs) were identified by LC/MS-IT-TOF. Furthermore, five characteristic chemicals were determined and similarity calculation with principal component analysis (PCA) was combined together to compare the similarity and difference among various cultivars. The results showed that some other cultivars were also similar to C . reticulata “Chachi” except for C . reticulata “Tangerina” and C . reticulata “Dahongpao” recorded in Chinese Pharmacopoeia. Most importantly, the peels of C . reticulata “Shiyueju,” C . reticulata “Ponkan,” C . reticulata “Tribute,” and C . reticulata “Bayueju,” traditionally rarely used for medicinal food, were highly similar to that of C . reticulata “Chachi” and rich in bioactive flavonoids, which can be considered the effective medicinal resources of CRP.

Abstract:Citri Reticulatae Pericarpium, especially the pericarp of Citrus reticulata Blanco cv. Chachiensis (PCRC), is an important edible and medicinal ingredient for health and pharmacological properties. Citrus Huanglongbing, a devastating disease that currently threatens the citrus industry worldwide, is caused by a phloem-limited alpha-proteobacterium, "Candidatus Liberibacter asiaticus" (CLas). The industry of cultivar Chachiensis has been suffering from HLB. Although HLB affected the quality of citrus fruit, whether the quality of PCRC was affected by HLB remains unclear. In this study, we compared the metabolite profiles between HLB-affected and healthy PCRC from three sources: fresh, 6-month-old, and 9-year-old PCRC, through the untargeted LC-MS method. Compared to healthy controls, various types of bioactive compounds, mainly flavonoids, terpenoids, alkaloids, coumarins, polysaccharides, and phenolic acids, accumulated in HLB-affected PCRC, especially in the HLB-affected 9-year PCRC. In particular, isorhamnetin, isoliquiritigenin, luteolin 7-O-beta-D-glucoside, limonin, geniposide, pyrimidodiazepine, scoparone, chitobiose, m-coumaric acid, malonate, and pantothenic acid, which contributed to the pharmacological activity and health care effects of PCRC, were highly accumulated in HLB-affected 9-year-old PCRC compared to the healthy control. Multibioassay analyses revealed that HLB-affected 9-year-old PCRC had a higher content of total flavonoids and total polyphenols and exhibited similar antioxidant capacity as compared to healthy controls. The results of this study provided detailed information on the quality of HLB-affected PCRC.
Profiling of Flavonoid and Antioxidant Activity of Fruit Tissues from 27 Chinese Local Citrus Cultivars

Abstract:Flavonoid profile and antioxidant activity of citrus peels, pulps, and juices from 27 local citrus cultivars in China were investigated. Flavonoid composition and content were determined using UPLC-PDA. Total phenolic content (TPC) and total flavonoid content (TFC) were measured using a Folin–Ciocalteau reagent and Al(NO3)-NaNO2 complexometry, respectively. The antioxidant capacities of the extracts were evaluated by DPPH, ABTS and FRAP method, respectively. Citrus peel not only exhibited better antioxidant potential, but also presented more composition diversity and contained higher concentrations of flavonoids than pulp and juice. Different citrus species were characterized by their individual predominant flavonoids, contributing largely to the antioxidant activity, such as mandarin was characterized by hesperidin, nobiletin and tangeretin, while pummelo and papeda were characterized by naringin. The peel of Guihuadinanfeng (Citrus reticulata) had the highest TPC of 23.46 mg equivalent gallic acid/g DW (dry weight) and TFC of 21.37 mg equivalent rutin/g DW. Shiyueju (C. reticulata) peel showed the highest antioxidant capacity based on the antioxidant potency composite (APC) analysis. Overall, mandarin (C. reticulata) fruits peel contained more TPC and TFC, exhibiting higher antioxidant capacities than other species, and were good natural sources of flavonoids and antioxidants.

Accumulation of Β-Citraurin and Other Carotenoids in Relation to the Expression of PSY1 and CCD4b1 in Peel of Twelve Red-Peeled Citrus Cultivars

Abstract:Peel color in citrus is largely genetically controlled. Red peel is favored by customers and is important, therefore, for fruit external quality. In order to understand the factors affecting distribution of carotenoids and color intensity of red-peeled citrus, we compared carotenoid accumulation and gene expression in the peel of twelve fully ripe red-peeled citrus cultivars with different genetic backgrounds. The results showed that β-citraurin, a red C30 carotenoid, was the second or third most abundant colored carotenoid in the peel of all twelve red-peeled citrus, ranging from 9.4 % to 26.7 % of total carotenoids. Statistical analysis of carotenoid composition and content showed that of the main carotenoids β-citraurin had the highest correlation with red appearance of cultivars. In addition, β-cryptoxanthin, which accounted for 3.6 % to 16.4 % of the total carotenoids, were also significantly positively correlated with citrus color index (CCI). The expression of two key genes, phytoene synthase 1 (PSY1) and carotenoid cleavage dioxygenase 4b1 (CCD4b1), differed among cultivars with a range of 3.5- and 48.8-fold, respectively. Surprisingly, accumulation of total carotenoids and β-citraurin was not correlated with the expression of PSY1 and CCD4b1, respectively, implying that diverse factors influence high carotenoid accumulation in red-peeled citrus.
Evaluation of dynamic changes and formation regularity in volatile flavor compounds in Citrus reticulata ‘chachi’ peel at different collection periods using gas chromatography-ion mobility spectrometry

Abstract:Citrus reticulata ‘Chachi’ is a commercially important and predominantly cultivated tangerine cultivar in Xinhui County, Guangdong, China. The dried C. reticulata ‘Chachi’ pericarp (CRCP), known as “Guangchenpi” in Mandarin has unique flavor properties, and has been used as a highly valuable nutritional food source and in traditional medicine for centuries. In this study, headspace-gas chromatography-ion mobility spectrometry (HS-GC-IMS) and partial least squares-discriminant analysis (PLS-DA) were adopted to rapidly and comprehensively evaluate the flavor compounds of dried CRCP, and to identify their dynamic changes at different fruit picking stages. Results revealed a total of 71 volatile compound in the samples at six different fruit picking stages. The C6–C9 alcohols and aldehydes with aromatic green grass profiles had higher concentrations in the early fruit picking stages (from July to October), while most terpenes, ketones, and esters with typical aromas of mature flowers and fruits were highly accumulated in the late fruit picking stages (from November to December). PLS-DA results showed that samples picked in different stages could effectively be divided into relatively independent clusters, and the variable importance in projection (VIP) models identified 12 representative flavor compounds, which could be used as flavor markers for distinguishing CRCP samples picked at different stages.

Abstract:Citri reticulatae pericarpium (CRP), the dried pericarps of Citrus reticulata Blanco and its cultivars, has been widely used in drugs and foods in China for centuries. In this study, an accurate and feasible analytical method based on HS-SPME-GC-MS coupled with multivariate statistical analyses was developed to comprehensively compare volatile compounds of pericarps derived from Citrus reticulata "Chachi" ("Guangchenpi" in Chinese, GCP) and other cultivars of Citrus reticulata Blanco ("Chenpi" in Chinese, CP). Principal component analysis, hierarchical cluster analysis, and orthogonal partial least-squares-discrimination analysis were performed to extract meaningful attributes from volatile profiles based on GC-MS data. Results indicated that samples from GCP and CP could easily be differentiated, and seven potential chemical markers were screened for the quality control of CRP. This study illuminated the volatile profile in CRP, and provides a practical method for the authentication of CRP varieties.

Abstract:Citrus is an important type of fruit, with antioxidant bioactivity. However, the variations in the antioxidant ability of different tissues in citrus and its metabolic and molecular basis remain unclear. Here, we assessed the antioxidant capacities of 12 tissues from Citrus reticulata 'Ponkan', finding that young leaves and root exhibited the strongest antioxidant capacity. Secondary metabolites accumulated differentially in parts of the citrus plant, of which flavonoids were enriched in stem, leaf, and flavedo; phenolic acids were enriched in the albedo, while coumarins were enriched in the root, potentially explaining the higher antioxidant capacities of these tissues. The spatially specific accumulation of metabolites was related to the expression levels of biosynthesis-related genes such as chalcone synthase (CHS), chalcone isomerase (CHI), flavone synthase (FNS), O-methyltransferase (OMT), flavonoid-3′-hydroxylase (F3′H), flavonoid-6/8-hydroxylase (F6/8H), p-coumaroyl CoA 2′-hydroxylase (C2′H), and prenyltransferase (PT), among others, in the phenylpropane pathway. Weighted gene co-expression network analysis (WGCNA) identified modules associated with flavonoids and coumarin content, among which we identified an OMT involved in coumarin O-methylation, and related transcription factors were predicted. Our study identifies key genes and metabolites influencing the antioxidant capacity of citrus, which could contribute to the enhanced understanding and utilization of bioactive citrus components.

Abstract:Citrus is widely grown all over the world, and citrus fruits have long been recognized for their nutritional and medical value for human health. However, some local citrus varieties with potentially important value are still elusive. In the current study, we elucidated the biological characteristics, phylogenetic and phytochemical profiling, antioxidants and antioxidant activities of the two local citrus varieties, namely Zangju and Tuju. The physiological and phylogenetic analysis showed that Zangju fruit has the characteristics of wrinkled skin, higher acidity, and phylogenetically closest to sour mandarin Citrus sunki, whereas, Tuju is a kind of red orange with vermilion peel, small fruit and high sugar content, and closely clustered with Citrus erythrosa. The phytochemical analysis showed that many nutrition and antioxidant related differentially accumulated metabolites (DAMs) were detected in the peel and pulp of Zangju and Tuju fruits. Furthermore, it was found that the relative abundance of some key flavonoids and phenolic acids, such as tangeritin, sinensetin, diosmetin, nobiletin, and sinapic acid in the peel and pulp of Zangju and Tuju were higher than that in sour range Daidai and satsuma mandarin. Additionally, Zangju pulp and Tuju peel showed the strongest FRAP activity, whereas, Tuju peel and pulp showed the strongest DPPH and ABTS free radical scavenging activities, respectively. Moreover, both the antioxidant activities of peel and pulp were significantly correlated with the contents of total phenols, total flavonoids or ascorbic acid. These results indicate that the two local citrus varieties have certain nutritional and medicinal value and potential beneficial effects on human health. Our findings will also provide an important theoretical basis for further conservation, development and medicinal utilization of Zangju and Tuju.

Abstract:Citrus cultivars are widely spread worldwide, and some of them only differ by specific mutations along the genome. It is difficult to distinguish them by traditional morphological identification. To accurately identify such similar cultivars, the subtle differences between them must be detected. In this study, UPLC-ESI-MS/MS-based widely targeted metabolomics analysis was conducted to study the chemical differences between two closely related citrus cultivars, Citrus reticulata ‘DHP’ and C . reticulata ‘BZH’. Totally 352 metabolites including 11 terpenoids, 35 alkaloids, 80 phenolic acids, 25 coumarins, 7 lignans, 184 flavonoids and 10 other compounds were detected and identified; Among them, 15 metabolites are unique to DHP and 16 metabolites are unique to BZH. Hierarchical cluster analysis (HCA), principal component analysis (PCA), and orthogonal signal correction and partial least squares-discriminant analysis (OPLS-DA) can be used to clearly discriminate between DHP and BZH. 93 metabolites including 36 down-regulated and 57 up-regulated are significantly different in DHP and BZH. They are mainly involved in the biosynthesis of flavonoids, flavones, flavonols, and isoflavonoids. In addition, the relative content levels of flavonoids, alkaloids, and terpenoids are much higher in the peel of DHP than that of BZH, the presence of which may correlate with the quality difference of the peels. The results reported herein indicate that metabolite analysis based on UPLC-ESI-MS/MS is an effective means of identifying cultivars with different genotypes, especially those that cannot be distinguished based on traditional identification methods.

Abstract:Citrus reticulata cv. Chachiensis (CRC) has been widely used in many Chinese medicine prescriptions and developed as various health products. Due to its extensive biological activities, increased interest has focused on CRC as a potential source for the treatment of various diseases. However, there is no systematic and sufficient research on optimization and characterization of ultrasound extraction of antioxidant compounds from CRC up to now. In the present work, three parameters including ultrasonic amplitude (45, 55, 70, 85, 95 %), ultrasonic time (26, 40, 60, 80, 94 min) and ethanol concentration (16, 30, 50, 70, 84 %, v/v) were estimated using central-composite design. Determined optimum conditions, considering four responses (TPC, TFC, DPPH and ABTS) at the same time, were 72 % amplitude, 80 min and 70 % ethanol concentration. The maximum yields were TPC values (145.73 mg GAE/g), TFC values (135.21 mg QE/g), DPPH and ABTS scavenging capacity (87.88 and 76.18 mg TE/g, respectively). 55 phytochemicals were identified in the CRC extract using the UPLC-QTOF-MS/MS, 34 of which were flavonoids, which provided important support for various potential applications of CRC.

Abstract:Chuan chenpi is obtained by aging the peel of Citrus reticulata cv. ‘Dahongpao’, a traditional Chinese citrus variety. Chenpi has been used in traditional Chinese medicine since ancient times. It is believed that the longer the ripening period, the better the health properties. The composition of the metabolome of Chuan chenpi and how different aging periods affect it are not known. Current analysis was performed using Chuan chenpi aged for one (CR1), five (CR5) and ten (CR10) years. Initially, the total flavonoid and phenolic content were quantified, and then the global metabolomic profiles of CR1, CR5 and CR10 were studied. The total flavonoid and phenolic content increased significantly in CR5 compared to CR1 and then decreased in CR10. The metabolomic analyses led to the identification of 781 compounds belonging to more than 19 classes. Flavonoids and phenolic acids accounted for almost half (~48%) of the Chuan chenpi metabolome. Other major classes included amino acids (~8%), alkaloids (7.17%), organic acids (~7%), sugars (5.5%), nucleotides and derivatives (~5%), free fatty acids (3.33%) and other classes. The metabolite diversity of glycerol esters, terpenoids and stilbenes was constant during the three storage periods, whereas those of lignans, vitamins, coumarins, lipids and free fatty acids showed slight variations. The subclass distribution of phenylpropanoids, quinones, sphingolipids, and organic acids showed a decrease in diversity from CR1 to CR5, with CR10 showing a further decrease or remaining constant. Amino acids and derivatives, phenolic acids and flavonoids showed an increasing trend in the number of metabolites over the storage period. Compared to CR5, CR10 showed a higher number of differentially accumulated metabolites; in particular, flavonoids, phenolic acids and organic acids showed increased accumulation in CR10. In conclusion, the metabolome of Chuan chenpi is rich in flavonoids and phenols. Aging significantly affects the metabolome composition. Both CR5 and CR10 may be useful materials for health studies depending on the objectives of pharmacological use.

Abstract:Introduction: Citrus reticulata 'Chachi' peel (CRCP), which is named "Guangchenpi" in China, is a geographical indication product with unique flavor properties. CRCP has been used for centuries as a traditional genuine herb because of its excellent therapeutic effects. In addition, owing to its unique odor and high nutrition, it is widely used in various food preparations. Volatile organic compounds (VOCs) are regarded as an important quality marker for CRCP and are highly susceptible to effects in the drying process due to their thermal instability. Methods: In the current study, the main VOCs in CRCP were processed using different drying methods, including sun-drying, hot air drying, and vacuum-freeze drying. The VOCs were identified by the electronic nose (E-nose), gas chromatography-ion mobility spectrometry (GC-IMS), and headspace solid-phase microextraction-gas chromatography-mass spectrometry (HS-SPME-GC-MS). Results: The results showed that the CRCP dried by vacuum-freeze exhibited the highest VOCs contents and retained the richest compounds compared to those dried by other methods, which indicated that vacuum-freeze drying is the most suitable for CRCP production. Furthermore, the chemometrics analysis revealed that the primary differential metabolites of the samples generated using different drying methods were terpenes and esters. Discussion: Overall, our study would help better understand the VOCs present in CRCP with different drying methods. The outcomes of the current study would guide the drying and processing of CRCP, which is beneficial for large-scale storage and industrial production of CRCP.

Abstract:Citrus reticulata 'Huajuhong' (HJH) and C. reticulata 'Sanhuhongju' (SHHJ) have distinct level of bioactive ingredients including flavonoid derivatives in peels meanwhile its underlying mechanism remain unclear. Integrated analysis of metabolome and transcriptome was comparatively investigated differences of HJH and SHHJ peels. The total flavonoid in HJH peels was significantly higher than that in SHHJ. Of 203 differentially accumulated metabolites (DAMs) and 3,517 differentially expressed genes (DEGs) were identified. KEGG enrichment analysis indicated that flavonoid pathway was overrepresented. Among the DAMs, the major components were flavonoids (104, 51.2%) followed by phenolic acids (30, 14.7%). Seven of top 10 flavonoid glycosides in HJH were highly accumulated and positively correlated with 10 glucosyltransferase genes. Collectively, higher content of flavonoid glycosides in HJH peels than in SHHJ peels might contribute to the distinct health-promoting effect, which provides a novel insight into improving the fruit quality of citrus as a health-promoting food resource.
