Abstract:Objective: The study aims to explore the role of ChatGPT as an Artificial Intelligence tool in education, critically evaluate its performance, discuss potential problems for students, and propose enhancements to improve teacher-student relations. Method: The research utilizes secondary data gathered from various publications, including magazines, books, journals, and websites relevant to the subject. The study focuses on unveiling the impact of ChatGPT on teacher-student dynamics. Results: ChatGPT offers several advantages in education, including customized learning, constant availability, instant feedback, homework assistance, and support for language learning. It can also enhance engagement and provide consistent quality at a lower cost. However, the study identifies significant drawbacks, such as a lack of emotional intelligence, contextual understanding, and personalization. There are concerns about misinformation, over-reliance on technology, privacy, security, and inadvertent bias reinforcement. To address these issues, the study recommends implementing effective feedback mechanisms, conducting regular security audits, promoting collaborative learning environments, and continuously updating AI models. Conclusions: While ChatGPT has transformative potential in education, its implementation must be carefully managed to avoid depersonalization and reliance on AI at the expense of human interaction. The study emphasizes the importance of balancing AI with the human touch in education, ensuring ethical guidelines, and promoting digital literacy. Abstract:Abstract Artificial Intelligence (AI) technologies have been progressing constantly and being more visible in different aspects of our lives. One recent phenomenon is ChatGPT, a chatbot with a conversational artificial intelligence interface that was developed by OpenAI. As one of the most advanced artificial intelligence applications, ChatGPT has drawn much public attention across the globe. In this regard, this study examines ChatGPT in education, among early adopters, through a qualitative instrumental case study. Conducted in three stages, the first stage of the study reveals that the public discourse in social media is generally positive and there is enthusiasm regarding its use in educational settings. However, there are also voices who are approaching cautiously using ChatGPT in educational settings. The second stage of the study examines the case of ChatGPT through lenses of educational transformation, response quality, usefulness, personality and emotion, and ethics. In the third and final stage of the study, the investigation of user experiences through ten educational scenarios revealed various issues, including cheating, honesty and truthfulness of ChatGPT, privacy misleading, and manipulation. The findings of this study provide several research directions that should be considered to ensure a safe and responsible adoption of chatbots, specifically ChatGPT, in education.

Abstract:In recent years, advanced artificial intelligence technologies, such as ChatGPT, have significantly impacted various fields, including education and research. Developed by OpenAI, ChatGPT is a powerful language model that presents numerous opportunities for students and educators. It offers personalized feedback, enhances accessibility, enables interactive conversations, assists with lesson preparation and evaluation, and introduces new methods for teaching complex subjects. However, ChatGPT also poses challenges to traditional education and research systems. These challenges include the risk of cheating on online exams, the generation of human-like text that may compromise academic integrity, a potential decline in critical thinking skills, and difficulties in assessing the reliability of information generated by AI. This study examines both the opportunities and challenges ChatGPT brings to education from the perspectives of students and educators. Specifically, it explores the role of ChatGPT in helping students develop their subjective skills. To demonstrate its effectiveness, we conducted several subjective experiments using ChatGPT, such as generating solutions from subjective problem descriptions. Additionally, surveys were conducted with students and teachers to gather insights into how ChatGPT supports subjective learning and teaching. The results and analysis of these surveys are presented to highlight the impact of ChatGPT in this context.

Abstract:Artificial intelligence (AI) technologies have the potential to completely transform how we teach and learn in higher education. ChatGPT, a language model developed by OpenAI, is one such tool that can deliver individualized recommendations to students, increase collaboration and communication, and improve student learning results. However, there are some obstacles to overcome, such as ethical concerns and implementation issues. This study reviews related work on the use of artificial intelligence in education, with a focus on ChatGPT and its possible applications in higher education. It also examines the benefits and drawbacks of adopting ChatGPT in higher education, as well as implementation advice. Finally, the report discusses future directions for ChatGPT research in higher education. According to the findings of this paper, ChatGPT represents a significant opportunity for higher education institutions to improve the quality and accessibility of education; however, its implementation must be approached with caution and a clear understanding of the opportunities and challenges involved.

Abstract:ChatGPT, an AI-based chatbot, offers coherent and useful replies based on analysis of large volumes of data. In this article, leading academics, scientists, distinguish researchers and engineers discuss the transformative effects of ChatGPT on modern education. This research discusses ChatGPT capabilities and its use in the education sector, identifies potential concerns and challenges. Our preliminary evaluation shows that ChatGPT perform differently in different subject areas including finance, coding, maths, and general public queries. While ChatGPT has the ability to help educators by creating instructional content, offering suggestions and acting as an online educator to learners by answering questions, transforming education through smartphones and IoT gadgets, and promoting group work, there are clear drawbacks in its use, such as the possibility of producing inaccurate or false data and circumventing duplicate content (plagiarism) detectors where originality is essential. The often reported “hallucinations” within GenerativeAI in general, and also relevant for ChatGPT, can render its use of limited benefit where accuracy is essential. What ChatGPT lacks is a stochastic measure to help provide sincere and sensitive communication with its users. Academic regulations and evaluation practices used in educational institutions need to be updated, should ChatGPT be used as a tool in education. To address the transformative effects of ChatGPT on the learning environment, educating teachers and students alike about its capabilities and limitations will be crucial.

Abstract:To foster the development of pedagogically potent and ethically sound AI-integrated learning landscapes, it is pivotal to critically explore the perceptions and experiences of the users immersed in these contexts. In this study, we perform a thorough qualitative content analysis across four key social media platforms. Our goal is to understand the user experience (UX) and views of early adopters of ChatGPT across different educational sectors. The results of our research show that ChatGPT is most commonly used in the domains of higher education, K-12 education, and practical skills training. In social media dialogues, the topics most frequently associated with ChatGPT are productivity, efficiency, and ethics. Early adopters' attitudes towards ChatGPT are multifaceted. On one hand, some users view it as a transformative tool capable of amplifying student self-efficacy and learning motivation. On the other hand, there is a degree of apprehension among concerned users. They worry about a potential overdependence on the AI system, which they fear might encourage superficial learning habits and erode students' social and critical thinking skills. This dichotomy of opinions underscores the complexity of Human-AI Interaction in educational contexts. Our investigation adds depth to this ongoing discourse, providing crowd-sourced insights for educators and learners who are considering incorporating ChatGPT or similar generative AI tools into their pedagogical strategies.

Abstract:In the era of exponential technology growth, one unexpected guest has claimed a seat in classrooms worldwide, Artificial Intelligence. Generative AI, such as ChatGPT, promises a revolution in education, yet it arrives with a double-edged sword. Its potential for personalized learning is offset by issues of cheating, inaccuracies, and educators struggling to incorporate it effectively into their lesson design. We are standing on the brink of this educational frontier, and it is clear that we need to navigate this terrain with a lot of care. This is a major challenge that could undermine the integrity and value of our educational process. So, how can we turn these challenges into opportunities? When used inappropriately, AI tools can become the perfect tool for the cut copy paste mentality, and quickly begin to corrode critical thinking, creativity, and deep understanding, the most important skills in our rapidly changing world. Teachers feel that they are not equipped to leverage this technology, widening the digital divide among educators and institutions. Addressing these concerns calls for an in depth research approach. We will employ empirical research, drawing on the Technology Acceptance Model, to assess the attitudes toward generative AI among educators and students. Abstract:Introduction: This study explores the effects of Artificial Intelligence (AI) chatbots, with a particular focus on OpenAI's ChatGPT, on Higher Education Institutions (HEIs). With the rapid advancement of AI, understanding its implications in the educational sector becomes paramount. Methods: Utilizing databases like PubMed, IEEE Xplore, and Google Scholar, we systematically searched for literature on AI chatbots' impact on HEIs. Our criteria prioritized peer-reviewed articles, prominent media outlets, and English publications, excluding tangential AI chatbot mentions. After selection, data extraction focused on authors, study design, and primary findings. The analysis combined descriptive and thematic approaches, emphasizing patterns and applications of AI chatbots in HEIs. Results: The literature review revealed diverse perspectives on ChatGPT's potential in education. Notable benefits include research support, automated grading, and enhanced human-computer interaction. However, concerns such as online testing security, plagiarism, and broader societal and economic impacts like job displacement, the digital literacy gap, and AI-induced anxiety were identified. The study also underscored the transformative architecture of ChatGPT and its versatile applications in the educational sector. Furthermore, potential advantages like streamlined enrollment, improved student services, teaching enhancements, research aid, and increased student retention were highlighted. Conversely, risks such as privacy breaches, misuse, bias, misinformation, decreased human interaction, and accessibility issues were identified. Discussion: While AI's global expansion is undeniable, there is a pressing need for balanced regulation in its application within HEIs. Faculty members are encouraged to utilize AI tools like ChatGPT proactively and ethically to mitigate risks, especially academic fraud. Despite the study's limitations, including an incomplete representation of AI's overall effect on education and the absence of concrete integration guidelines, it is evident that AI technologies like ChatGPT present both significant benefits and risks. Abstract:Since its maiden release into the public domain on November 30, 2022, ChatGPT garnered more than one million subscribers within a week. The generative AI tool ⎼ChatGPT took the world by surprise with it sophisticated capacity to carry out remarkably complex tasks. The extraordinary abilities of ChatGPT to perform complex tasks within the field of education has caused mixed feelings among educators, as this advancement in AI seems to revolutionize existing educational praxis. This is an exploratory study that synthesizes recent extant literature to offer some potential benefits and drawbacks of ChatGPT in promoting teaching and learning. Benefits of ChatGPT include but are not limited to promotion of personalized and interactive learning, generating prompts for formative assessment activities that provide ongoing feedback to inform teaching and learning etc. The paper also highlights some inherent limitations in the ChatGPT such as generating wrong information, biases in data training, which may augment existing biases, privacy issues etc. The study offers recommendations on how ChatGPT could be leveraged to maximize teaching and learning. Abstract:The incorporation of artificial intelligence (AI) into education has heralded a transformative era in the way students learn and faculties teach. Among the burgeoning array of AI tools, ChatGPT stands out as a versatile and powerful resource. Developed by OpenAI, ChatGPT is an AI-driven conversational model that generates human-like responses. This research draws on the Constructivism Learning Theory to uncover the key drivers pushing higher education students to use ChatGPT for academic purposes, and the multifaceted consequences it brings to the academic environment, by integrating the perspectives of key stakeholders: students, faculty, and education experts/leaders. The key findings of in-depth, face-to-face, interviews with key stakeholders revealed 12 main drivers that motivate students and their faculty to use ChatGPT mainly for learning purposes. However, the findings identified the multifaceted (six positive and another six negative) consequences of using ChatGPT for academic purposes. Recommendations for mitigating the negative consequences of ChatGPT were discussed with key stakeholders, particularly education experts/leaders, who were more concerned about using ChatGPT for academic reasons. The research reveals that higher education institutions should establish clear guidelines as a part of higher education policy, supplemented with training sessions for students and their faculty, about the responsible use of ChatGPT for academic purposes to mitigate any ethical concerns.

Abstract:The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) chatbots into higher education marks a shift towards a new generation of pedagogical tools, mirroring the arrival of milestones like the internet. With the launch of ChatGPT-4 Turbo in November 2023, we developed a ChatGPT-based teaching application (<a class="link-external link-https" href="https://chat.openai.com/g/g-1imx1py4K-chatge-medical-imaging" rel="external noopener nofollow">this https URL</a>) and integrated it into our undergraduate medical imaging course in the Spring 2024 semester. This study investigates the use of ChatGPT throughout a semester-long trial, providing insights into students' engagement, perception, and the overall educational effectiveness of the technology. We systematically collected and analyzed data concerning students' interaction with ChatGPT, focusing on their attitudes, concerns, and usage patterns. The findings indicate that ChatGPT offers significant advantages such as improved information access and increased interactivity, but its adoption is accompanied by concerns about the accuracy of the information provided and the necessity for well-defined guidelines to optimize its use.

Abstract:Purpose This article aims to explore the advantages of integrating a new generative artificial intelligence (AI) technology in education. It investigates the use of ChatGPT in personalized learning, assessment and content creation and examines ways to manage its limitations and some ethical considerations. The purpose is to stimulate discussion on the effective application of ChatGPT as a tool for learning and skill development while remaining mindful of the ethical issues involved. Design/methodology/approach The methodology in this article includes four steps: a literature search, screening and selection, analysis and synthesis. The literature was thoroughly screened and selected on the basis of its relevance to the research question, before selected material were carefully read and analyzed. The insights gained from this analysis were then synthesized to identify key considerations in integrating ChatGPT in education. Findings The study concludes that ChatGPT can be effectively integrated into education to automate routine tasks and enhance the learning experience for students, ultimately increasing productivity and efficiency and fostering adaptive learning. However, the limitations of ChatGPT, even when updated, must be borne in mind, including factual inconsistencies, potential bias promotion, lack of in-depth understanding and safety concerns. The study nevertheless highlights the benefits of responsibly integrating ChatGPT within the field of education. Practical implications This study has practical implications for educators and policymakers who are interested in the integration of AI technology in education. Abstract:Emerging Artificial Intelligence (AI) tools like ChatGPT offer considerable promise for enhancing professional development in higher education. This study focuses on the experiences of early-career lecturers who utilise ChatGPT for professional development. Central questions explore ChatGPT's influence on their overall professional experience and the challenges and benefits of its use. While research on AI in education has been growing, few studies have delved into the specific experiences of young academics using ChatGPT. This study employed qualitative methods to address this gap, pre-cisely 45- to 60-minute in-depth interviews with two purposively selected lecturers, followed by a thematic analysis using a grounded theory approach. Our findings reveal a multifaceted landscape: on the one hand, ChatGPT enhances the ability to construct intricate academic arguments, increases effi-ciency in research and teaching tasks, and heightens critical thinking capabilities. Conversely, chal-lenges such as initial technical hurdles, occasional incorrect outputs, and concerns about over-dependency were also highlighted. Through this investigation, the study contributes to the broader discourse on AI in education by illustrating both the promising opportunities and potential pitfalls of using ChatGPT in academia. The study underscores the need for a balanced approach to AI adoption. It offers insights into the role of AI tools like ChatGPT in shaping the future of professional development in higher education.

Abstract:Teaching of Psychology, Ahead of Print. BackgroundThe emergence of artificial intelligence (AI) in higher education has sparked numerous discussions about its implications. ChatGPT, a prominent AI conversational model, has attracted significant attention for its ability to generate essays and formulate responses.ObjectiveThe current study sought to explore how and why students are using ChatGPT, and to examine their perceptions about ChatGPT and academic integrity.MethodStudents were surveyed about the frequency and motivation for ChatGPT use and their views on ChatGPT and academic misconduct. Exploratory factor analyses were conducted to examine patterns of correlations between each of the measures.ResultsStudents primarily use ChatGPT for gathering information, motivated by its value and convenience rather than hedonic reasons, and can correctly identify academically unethical uses of the tool as cheating.ConclusionThe current study presents comprehensive data on college students' ChatGPT usage patterns, attitudes, and perceptions of cheating behavior. The outcomes of this research provide insight into how college students are currently interacting with AI tools.Teaching ImplicationsOur findings offer practical insights for universities developing AI policies in the classroom, contributing to the ongoing discourse on AI's role in higher education by providing accurate information about ChatGPT's pervasiveness in academia.

Abstract:Purpose This paper aims to examine the opportunities and challenges of using ChatGPT in higher education. Furthermore, it is also discuss the potential risks and plunders of these tools. Design/methodology/approach The paper discuss the use of artificial intelligence (AI) in academia and explores the opportunities and challenges of using ChatGPT in higher education. It also highlights the difficulties of detecting and preventing academic dishonesty and suggests strategies that universities can adopt to ensure ethical and useful use of these tools. Findings The paper concludes that while the use of AI tools, ChatGPT in higher education presents both opportunities and challenges. The universities can effectively address these concerns by taking a proactive and ethical approach to the use of these tools. This paper further suggests that universities should develop policies and procedures, provide training and support, to detect and prevent cheating intentions. Originality/value The paper provides insights into the opportunities and challenges of using ChatGPT in higher education, as well as strategies for addressing concerns related to academic dishonesty. The paper further adds importance to the discussion on the ethical and responsible use of AI tools in higher education.
